Toilet is a private place to relief yourself can’t be open that you busy helping yourself someone is watching you it feels uncomfortable like you in cell in jail

It has an amazing scenery, extremely calming & beautiful.

Thin Walls! You can hear almost everything from the next room be it coughing, laughing, conversations, showering etc. This made my evenings unbearable.

The welcome and reception on arrival wasnt great.The stand alone Chalet is an old farmhouse and not great and over priced. Kitchen and Utensils old 1 bathroom and 1 toilet not ideal for a house that sleeps 6. Not recommended.

The menu had a good variety. The food was great. The portion sizes were good. The prices were great! Overall relaxed vibe was nice. Dry and clean towels every day. Fireplace helped nicely with the cold evenings. Internet connection great. Having hot water anytime of day was nice.

No refill of coffee and creamer every day, as we stayed 4 nights.

I enjoyed the nature, tranquility and serene environment of the area. The birds and the lake made for a spectacular setting. The walking trail was amazing with the forest and wildlife around. It was a worthwhile experience

WC gefühlt mitten im Zimmer…. Keine Tür oder sonstige Abtrennung, nur Glas und „nichts“…. Wer plant so etwas???? Wenn man von anderen Personen, die am Zimmer vorbei gehen nicht gesehen werden möchte, muss man die Gardine zuziehen…

Sehr ruhig gelegen und recht schöne Anlage. Außerdem ist die kleine süße Stadt in ungefähr 5 min zu erreichen. Servicepersonal sehr nett und bemüht.

Leider sind die Wände sehr dünn, weshalb man die Nachbarzimmer bei Unterhaltungen und so weiter hört.. Im Winter ist es recht kalt, da keine Heizung vorhanden ist, außer ein Kamin, welcher aber gefühlt auch nicht viel bringt und man das Holz nochmal zusätzlich kaufen muss. Wenn man mit Frühstück bucht, bekommt man leider nur eins der Angebote. Außerdem hatten wir nur eine bereits angefangene Klopapierrolle und keine Ersatz im Zimmer, weshalb diese bereits schon nach einer Nacht aufgebraucht war...

I did not like the fact that they don’t do housekeeping on Sunday!!!! We didn’t have clean towels, we didn’t have clean cups and glasses which was irritating.

What a stunning place! Its so clean and cosy. The drive leading to the hotel had amazing views. I loved that the staff switched on the electric blanket so we find the bed warm, especially because we arrived late in the evening and it was cold. The breakfast was great and yummy, I loved everything about the property

Posto incantevole direttamente sul lago e in mezzo alla natura, nonstante facesse freddo e la camera non disponesse di riscaldamento, c'è stato acceso il caminetto ( molto romantico!) e c'è stata fornita una coperta elettrica. Colazione e Cena ottime. Perfetto per una sosta tra l'aeroporto di Johannesburg e il Kruger Park

Ultimo km di strada per raggiungere il posto non è asfaltato quindi prestare attenzione con le macchine particolarmente basse ma comunque fattibile.

No privacy. The toilet without door please correct this I'm quite sure most clients aren't happy about it. Please also look into having bar fridges in the rooms atleast.

Rooms are too close to each other,noise from the other rooms was audible. On the first night the guest from other rooms was playing loud music and there is no cater taker on the premises after nine to assist with anything you may need assistance with, you will have to call their other establishment for assistance. Breakfast menu is too limited. The toilet does not have a door. If you are booked on a Sunday or public holiday your room won't be cleaned and your bed won't be done even if you have paid full rate. This is overall just a poor hotel. It should be a guest house.

Pas de préchauffage ou de chauffage du logement en pleine hiver - moyen - température intérieur 13 degrés - heureusement il nous ont vendu du bois pour la cheminée afin de passer la soirée dans la salle de vie mais il y avait des couvertures chauffante en route à notre arrivée tout de même.

Great venue and the room was very comfy with it's own fire place. The restaurant was very nice and we enjoyed a great dinner. It is centrally located in Dullstroom.

Everything was great from the room, restaurant and the friendly and helpful staff. The fireplace in the room was a bonus. The view from the patio outside our room that overlooked a dam was calming especially with all the ducks and other birdlife.

Amazing views and incredibly relaxing environment. The sounds of the fish eagles and other birds on the water was magnificent. Such a beautiful place to watch the mist roll in on cold nights, and the fire place was such a bonus.

The walls seem quite thin, we could hear our neighbours conversations.

I didn't like that the toilet is glass and open and affords no privacy Then there was an additional conservation fee that we had to pay on arrival that wasn't mentioned at all. I also asked for an invoice which they couldn't supply

Clean room , daily breakfast and view of the lake. The fireplace and electricity blankets helps the cold nights.

Neighbors on Friday were partying till 23:00 with loud music and no have respect for other guests, was no able to get through to reception to report. Freezing cold water on a Saturday morning for showers. Unfriendly treatment compared to other guests, such as at breakfast other guests received more interaction and conversation. Was informed of having appliances before hand in room and there was no hairdryer upon arrival.

La vue de la chambre est magnifique sur un lac avec de nombreux oiseaux repas très bons chambre vaste avec un poêle à bois pour se réchauffer l'établissement est très beau et aménagé avec beaucoup de goût dommage que nous n'y soyons restés qu'une seule nuit

rien peut être le manque d'intimité des toilettes et douche qui ne sont pas fermés dans la chambre

Nous avons passé une très bonne nuit à Dunkeld East. Le personnel est très gentil et le cadre est incroyable et très calme. La carte du restaurant est bien fournie et la cuisine très bien exécutée. La décoration des chambres et du restaurant est très belle.

Attention au chemin en terre accidenté pour accéder à l'hôtel qui peut ne pas être évident à manœuvrer. Petit bémol également sur l'isolation sonore.

Gorgeous location, 10 out of 10. Friendly staff, clean rooms, well appointed.

Room's subject to some of he worst impulses in modern interior design. Open plan bathroom lacks privacy- you can literally see the toilet from the balcony AND IT HAS NO DOOR. Bathrooms got very cold. Double volume ceiling meant most of the heat from the stove escaped. Terrible sound insulation, heard neighbours through the walls. Exposed lightbulbs gave me a headache.

the breakfast on Saturday morning was very dry and the food took too long to be ready. the lunch we ordered oxtail and lamb chops, complements to the chef, the food was very delicious and tasty.

The rooms have no minibar not offering even welcome bottled water.

Absolutely lovely staff. Esther(the receptionist) is absolutely so sweet. I’d recommend staying longer. A day just is not enough. The facilities were great. Very clean.

Not a fan of the open toilet in the room; it made things a bit awkward when one person had to leave the room so the other could use the toilet. Would be an easy fix to cover the glass wall with frosted vinyl and add a frosted glass door. The staff were great; however, having 1 waiter at breakfast made things run really slow. It took a while to get our order in, and there were a few things he forgot (not his fault; he was the only person serving the tables).

En plein mois de juillet, il fait vraiment froid à Dullstroom et il n’y avait pas de chauffage dans la chambre. La couverture chauffante fonctionne très bien mais nous avons eu froid entre le dîner et le moment où nous nous sommes mis au lit.

The location is fabulous and scenic. The room was clean, comfortable and attention was paid to small details/luxuries The check in was seamless We didn’t book with breakfast, and I’m glad we didn’t - no real veg options. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk on the estate, and we’d love to come back

There is no partition between the bedroom and bathroom (including the toilet). We weren’t comfortable with this. It would have been nice to receive more wood for the cosy fire

We had a lovely stay and couldn’t recommend Dunkeld East enough! Staff were lovely, room was modern and clean. Perfect located near town but feels far away!

Restaurants food is some of the best you'll come across.

Just need some sound deadening between the units. Could hear most of the conversation and TV from people next door. Awesome otherwise!

Comfortable bed, beautiful views and a more modern look and feel than most Dullstroom cottages.

The room needs a bar fridge, acoustics weren’t great. Fireplace looks a bit dingy but did its job. Rooms aren’t serviced on a Sunday which didn’t make sense seeing as it’s a hotel and cleaning staff are working for check outs anyway. 4pm check in which is quite late per South African standards. They were a bit understaffed but friendly.

Friendly reception. The room was modern and good looking. Dinner was good. The mattres warmer was really welcome.

This is not a complain but a suggestion. We asked if they could lit the fire while we were having dinner - to warm up the room. They were not able to assist. We tried to make the fire ourselves (we do braai a lot), but it seems that the wood was not dry. We did not have paper or small wood pieces and the fire starter just burned out. A bit dissapointing.

The place is stunning, and the stuff is friendly

On Sunday we went out to watch soccer and we got to the gate it was locked. We tried the provided number for emergencies it didn't go through. Lucky when we were driving around we found a security guy who assisted us. Details such as that the security leaves the gate after a certain time should be communicated or rather share security details in case of such cases.

You can easily hear the noise from the other room, it is disturbing, the rooms are so cold and the wood for the fireplace is R35 a pack but they give you 5 pieces as complimentary, that’s absolutely useless, either give guest a full pack or don’t give anything at all.

L'emplacement est vraiment charmant et très agréable.! Une belle chambre face au lac. Un restaurant et un parking gratuit. Accueil chaleureux et la gentillesse du personnel. Mais beaucoup de petites améliorations à faire pourrait rendre cet endroit vraiment super...

Il n'y a pas de chauffage adéquat dans cette belle chambre. Seulement un feu de bois qui empeste la chambre et en + pour chauffer, il faut payer un sac de bois. Ce n'est pas avec ce qu'ont nous donne pour partir le feu que l'on peut chauffer la chambre. Et l'accélérateur fourni pour partir le feu est épouvantable comme odeur et toxique, j'avais les yeux rouges cela m'a donné une petite allergie. Ce n'est pas écologique et ce n'est pas efficace du Tout. C'est simple ça ne chauffe pas du tout la pièce et comme il faisait froid impossible de prendre une douche. Et comme il n'y a pas de cloison pour la douche ou la toilette cela a dérangé certaines personnes qui ont déja laissé des commentaires à ce sujet. Être obligé de payer pour entrer sur les lieux. Payer alors que la route pour s'y rendre n'est pas vraiment bien entretenue et que si un véhicule arrive à sens inverse, c'est très étroit et l'autre voiture doit parfois reculée pour laisser passer...Le restaurant est agréable mais la cuisson des plats est à améliorer. Très déçue de la cuisson de la truite...L'endroit est paisible et vraiment bien mais certaines améliorations et ajustements reste à faire. Surtout il faudrait vraiment installer une climatisation qui sert de chauffage également dans chaque chambre se serait le point le plus important. Et également améliorer certaines recettes et cuisson offert au menu. 9 pour l'emplacement mais pour le reste je mettrais 6...! L'accueil chaleureux et L'équipe sont très gentils mais faire quelques changements ferait toute la différence...!!!

1. There is absolutely zero privacy between the toilet, shower and the room, not even a screen of some sort. 2. The beds had electric blankets. But there was no heater in the room to cater for the very low single digit temperatures. There is a fireplace but it isn't practical to stay up and keep the fire going all night just to keep the room warm. 3. The room door didn't lock at all. We explained this to the lady at the front desk. She said the handyman, Bheki, would arrive soon to fix it and to leave our rooms unattended while going into town for dinner. She didn't seem to appreciate the natural apprehension of leaving luggage in an unlocked room! When we got back, the lock still hadn't been fixed, so we had to sleep in an unlocked room! In the morning, she indicated that she misunderstood and didn't realize the door wasn't locking. We're not sure where the misunderstanding was when it was simple communication that "the door cannot lock" and "the door isn't locking". This was most frustrating after a late 3.5 hour journey.

The walls between the rooms is paper thin! You can hear the people talking like they sitting right next to you, and when they watch tv you can might as well join them. You can hear them shower, flush the toilet, snoring…every sound they make you can hear. This was extremely frustrating if you want a good nights rest I would not recommend staying at Dunkeld East.

The road leading up to the hotel is dreadful. If you didn’t have a 4x4 you would find it very difficult.

The room was “ultra open plan”, including the toilet. Some form of bathroom privacy would be an improvement!

Scenic premises and peaceful environment. Lamb curry potjie served in their restaurant was absolutely divine. Beautiful hotel.

Toilet and shower not private. Very exposed.. Fire wood provided for one night only. Three pieces of wood. Thereafter we had to buy wood. It would be really lovely if more pieces of fire wood could be made available every night. There aren't many rooms to cater for and it is winter only a few months of the year. One would definitely need to use the fireplace daily in winter since it is very very! cold at night.

Het ligt echt in een prachtige omgeving, omgeven door groen en water! De kamer was niet groot, maar groot genoeg voor een fijne overnachting. Het ontbijt was ook heerlijk, de keuze was ruim en het ontbijt zag er echt goed uit en was lekker!

Helaas waren er geen fietsen aanwezig, die we wel op de foto's hadden gezien. En er zit in het toilet geen deur, dat kan wellicht niet voor iedereen prettig zijn.

Wir hatten das Haus welches etwas vom Hauptgebäude abgelegenen liegt. Für uns 3 war es mehr als gross genug. Es gibt alles was man für einen langen oder kurzen Aufenthalt braucht.

Das Schlüssel Konzept war etwas kompliziert und schwergängig. Viele verschiedene Schlüssel für die Vordertür, Hintertür und Gittertüren.
