El lugar es impresionante, la playa muy linda. La atención de primera y la comida espectacular. Nos quedamos con mi pareja y mi bebé varias noches y nos atendieron de primera, muy atentos a las necesidades nuestras y que estemos los más cómodos con la bebé.

Struttura molto bella, immersa nella natura e molto curata. Abbiamo passato 3 giorni di relax, di giorno animati da musica e qualche visitatore diurno, la sera in totale pace, con la compagnia dei dolcissimi cani. Staff molto gentile e cibo ottimo. I prezzi di cibo e bevande solo un po alti, ma in linea con la qualità e il servizio della struttura. Colazione eccellente! Gli spazi sono molto ampi, la piscina anche e si può accedere a diverse aree relax attrezzate con lettini e cuscini. Si ha accesso inoltre a due spiagge, di giorno il mare è leggermente più mosso ma la mattina l’acqua è cristallina e più calma! Bellissimo anche il servizio serale di Cinema nella capanna eventi.

Il menù della cena è molto meno ricco di quello del pranzo, e se non rispecchia il gusto/esigenze può risultare difficile per soggiorni di più di due giorni. Il servizio SPA purtroppo ha dei costi molto alti, rendendolo poco fruibile.

Reservé dos noches en el hotel porque anteriormente había visitado el lugar en modalidad de pasadía. En esa ocasión noté que los huéspedes recibían una mejor calidad de atención y tenían acceso a instalaciones superiores a las ofrecidas para quienes asistían únicamente por el día. Precisamente por esa percepción decidí regresar, esta vez como huésped. Lamentablemente, la experiencia estuvo muy lejos de mis expectativas. El sábado, día de mi llegada, el hotel se encontraba completamente lleno. Nos ubicaron en unas sillas alejadas del bar y la atención fue deficiente desde el primer momento. De manera reiterada, el personal nos indicó que había un evento que tenía prioridad sobre los huéspedes, dando la impresión de que quienes nos hospedábamos éramos secundarios. Posteriormente, en el restaurante nos asignaron una mesa ubicada junto a los baños, donde la presencia constante de mosquitos hizo que la experiencia fuera bastante incómoda. Sin embargo, lo más desconcertante ocurrió el domingo. Mi pareja y yo tomamos dos asoleadoras disponibles para disfrutar de la piscina. Al poco tiempo, un miembro del personal se acercó para informarnos que no podíamos utilizarlas porque estaban reservadas para unos visitantes de plan pasadía extranjeros y que debíamos desocuparlas. Sinceramente, nunca me había ocurrido algo así en un hotel. Como huésped, resulta incomprensible que no pueda elegir dónde sentarme porque determinados espacios están reservados para personas que ni siquiera se encuentran hospedadas. Me pregunto: ¿en qué hotel sucede que un visitante de pasadía tenga prioridad sobre un huésped que ha pagado por alojarse? Más allá de las situaciones puntuales, la sensación permanente fue que el hotel priorizó un evento y a los visitantes de pasadía por encima de quienes decidimos hospedarnos. Esa no es la experiencia que esperaba al elegir este hotel y, sin duda, no corresponde al estándar de servicio que debería recibir un huésped.

We stayed at Makani Luxury Cartagena for four nights and had a truly special time overall. Right from the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the stylish grounds and the stunning location – turquoise waters, modern design and a relaxed, exclusive atmosphere. During our stay, we were able to make the most of the Beach Club. The combination of comfortable lounges, good music and high-quality food created a real holiday atmosphere. It was particularly lovely that you could both relax here and soak up the lively atmosphere. The team were always friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a pleasant stay. There were occasional minor delays in service, which could be improved slightly given the luxury standards. Nevertheless, the overall experience was clearly the priority for us, and that was definitely something special. Our days at Makani were perfect for truly unwinding and letting the place work its magic on us. We’re taking many wonderful memories home with us and would recommend Makani for a stylish stay in Cartagena.

Es el hotel al que quieres ir cuando buscas desconectar, descansar, un buen servicio y buenas comidas y cenas. Se nota que prestan cuidado a todo (el diseño, el servicio, la atención personalizada). Enhorabuena.

Divino el hotel y las instalaciones. Muy bien cuidado.

Great customer service and top notch facilities

The beach could be better

Hotel był bardzo pozytywnym zaskoczeniem. Wbrew wielu opiniom obsługa była świetna, przemiła i pomocna. Strefa basenowa jest zadbana i dobrze zarządzana, muzyka jest sympatyczna i wcale nie jest zbyt głośna. Ceny w restauracji wcale nie są wyższe niż w samej Cartagenie. Pokoje są ogromne, taras na dachu bardzo przyjemny, gwarantuje prywatność. Dojazd łódką również na plus, bardzo fajnie, że jest wliczony w cenę.

Pewne elementy pokoju wymagają odświeżenia.

Ons verblijf met onze baby bij Makani Luxury was echt geweldig! Vanaf het moment dat we aankwamen voelden we ons enorm welkom. Het personeel is super vriendelijk, behulpzaam en zorgt ervoor dat je werkelijk niets tekortkomt. De service is echt top! Daarnaast is het de perfecte plek om even te ontsnappen aan de drukte van Cartagena en te genieten van rust, luxe en comfort. Deze plek is echt een absolute aanrader! Als we meer sterren konden geven, hadden we dat zeker gedaan. Goed om te weten: je wordt vanaf Cartagena opgehaald met een bootje en ook weer teruggebracht.

Quarto muito espaçoso, banheiro excelente, com luxo especial no roof top do quarto.

Muito caro, acesso por lancha pequena, cozinha extremamente demorada e não muito saborosa ou variada. A exceção é a parrilla, deliciosa mas muito cara também.

Nydelig frokost, men det tar litt tid å få maten. Fantastisk område, krystallklart vann og god stemning. Litt slitsomt med DJ-party musikk hele dagen 😜 Leiligheten vi bodde i var helt fantastisk! Vakkert interiør, så estetisk. Gode senger.

Las Villas son divinas y cómodas, el desayuno muy completo y variado, la playa es de arena blanca y cristalina, es hermoso, el personal super atento y especial, la piscina, el restaurante, es hermoso con exclusividad y mucha privacidad. Makani es el mejor hotel de las islas de Tierra Bomba, Cartagena.

Wer sich erholen will, ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Tolle Zimmer, gut ausgestattet mit Jacuzzi auf dem Dach. Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal. Poolbereich sehr schön, der kleine Strand ok. Alles gepflegt und sauber. Der Bootstransfer prima. Das Frühstück und die anderen Mahlzeiten sind sehr gut. Die Küche immer flexibel auch mal was anderes ausserhalb der Karte zu machen.

Oft sehr laute Musik am Pool. Wird aber leiser gestellt wenn man interveniert. Personal spricht zum größten Teil gar kein englisch. Das erwartet man bei einem so hochklassigen Hotel. Die Kaffeemaschinen in den Zimmern sind bei Benutzung sehr heiß und unhandlich. Das Hotel hat viele Tagesgäste…

É um comentario em geral que se estende a todos os lugares e restaurantes em que estivemos em cartagena. O serviço é um pouco lento, e estando em Cartagena é necessario estar consciente que o serviço de refeições incluiu esperar 45min a 1hora.

Makani Wanderlust ligt op het eiland Tierra Bomba vlak voor de kust van Cartagena. Het is een prachtig ingericht complex met een klein strand, een groot zwembad, een buitenbar, een restaurant en een aantal villa's. Overdag zijn er naast de logeergasten ook daggasten maar dat geeft geen overlast. Het personeel is uiterst vriendelijk. En de persoon die verantwoordelijk is voor alle groen van aanplanting maar ook alle potten met planten heeft een geweldige job gedaan het is echt prachtig!

Amazing stay! The food was fantastic, the beach and pool were beautiful, and the sunsets were unforgettable. We loved our spacious 2-bedroom home—right on the beach! Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was pure relaxation. The staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Perfect for our family of four!

The logistics of getting from the mainland to the island for the first time were tricky and stressful as there was no clear marking on where to meet the Makani team. Also we weren't provided instructions until the day before on WhatsApp. Once connected with the right people on WhatsApp, we were able to sort out the details, but getting an Uber from the airport to a random beach location behind the new hospital and then trying to connect with the right Makani boat with all of our luggage was not easy. Ultimately pulled it off and subsequent boat rides to and from the island were much easier but that initial connection point when arriving in Cartagena and getting over to the island for the first time could be significantly improved. We did also have issues with hot water and two of our air conditioning units but the maintenance team was able to fix them within hours of reporting.

The best beach club I’ve ever visited / stayed at. Absolutely stunning. Unusually well designed pool & deck area. Also excellent value - we got a 2 bedroom villa for roughly the same price as standard rooms at our very average Santa Marta hotel.

Logistics to get there (from beach near hospital) turned out straightforward but initially tricky as hotel didn’t respond to emails. Once we made phone contact all fell into place. Also worth noting there isn’t actually much of a beach - the activity is at the pool. Made no difference to us but some other guests seemed disappointed.

It was a really relaxing hotel with a real nice and friendly vibe. Chef was exceptional and surprised us.

There is no gym and running outside of the hotel is a bit complicated...

The property is stunning. Incredible design in the main areas and rooms. Whoever the architect was has done an amazing job. *The staff don’t speak much English so please bring a translation app.

Well the beach isn’t right in front of the property and could be cleaned more. The restaurant service from the kitchen was slow but you get used to it by ordering in advance.

Everything was perfect!!! Excellent service. Excellent restaurant. Excellent facilities. Excellent massage therapist. Would definitely recommend it!

- Getting there was terrible. We waited for 1 hour under the sun on a random beach and had to carry our luggage on the sand to get to the boat. For a “luxury wanderlust” the hotel should invest in a much better arrival experience. - it should be for relaxing, however the beach club is open for lots of people so it ended up being more of a party mood on the pool than a relaxing experience (loud music, drinks etc)

The property is beautiful, there is a public beach basically to yourself. The rooms are spacious and beautiful.

I think the staff needs better training in every sense, it felt as if they didn’t know what they were doing. Another point, is that the hotel needs to find a way to distinguish from the guests that spend the day from those that stay over. I was staying over and felt sometimes awkward from the constant asking about my room number. Also the food wasn’t very good. I am Colombian and even the local food wasn’t good for the hotel level. Didn’t feel it is a hotel to spend with kids below 15-16.

The location, the resort itself. Absolutely stunning. The nights, the sunsets. It's truly special.

The staff didn't communicate clearly. Sometimes we felt they were bothered by requests or questions. They didn't help solve much. The menu at night also needs help. It's clear the resort is designed to take in guests during the day but there is only a skeleton crew at night and the menu is lackluster. Being able to heat the water in the jacuzzi at night would also go a long way toward making it an unforgettable experience.

Fantastic Hotel & Resort Highly recommended, we arrived on a Friday left on a Monday, the hotel provide a boat for the hotel guests it leaves from the beach behind Nuevo Hospital De Bocagrande (see dropped pin on photo) The boat crew help with your luggage. The hotel contact via WhatsApp a day before hand. The boat takes approximately 25 to reach the resort, wear shorts as you will get feet wet getting on the boat. Checking in was effortlessly we were a few hours before check in so the staff kept of luggage & had 2 loungers by the pool ready for us. We were shown to our sundeck villa which is absolutely stunning inside with excellent air conditioning, ice machine, minibar has room for additional items if you bring something additional, easily takes full size bottles of spirits. The upper level of the villa has a large jacuzzi easily enough room for 5-6 people & seating with an amazing sea view. Breakfast is complementary for hotel guests & it has a variety of hot and cold dishes la carte. Some of the staff speak ok English & I found it no problem. When we went down for breakfast you can speak to the pool staff and reserve any position at the pool you want for that day, they will keep it for you. Drinks & poolside food was excellent staff were super helpful & always smiling. In the evening the day trippers leave & the resort became truly tranquil, sitting near the pool bar sipping cocktails. The reception keep in contact via WhatsApp for me this was in English language no issues. The day before we departed they contacted us and offered various departure times for the boat with option to stay at the resort for the day. Boat back to the mainland crew help with luggage & there are taxis waiting.

There was a DJ playing all day on the Saturday but not on the Sunday that was the only improvement I could suggest

The place exceeded oír expectations big time. Not only were the facilities incredible but the staff was incredibly nice and friendly. The food and drinks were also fantastic. If you are having doubts about coming, don’t!

Everything was perfect

The facilities were great. The room is spacious and pretty, and there is a fun rooftop jacuzzi.

The service was egregiously bad. We would order food and water and an hour later not even have the water. That is particularly difficult when you're on an island and don't have other places to go. Getting to the hotel was also difficult. Our plane got in late so we had to pay $175 for the boat to the hotel. And finally, the hotel contacted us via WhatsApp on Christmas Eve, threatening to cancel our stay (then just a week away) if we did not follow a random link, enter in the amount we owed, and pay immediately. Booking.com's customer service was concerned about fraud and told me not to follow through. I was shocked no one had written about that before. Booking ended up sorting it out (it had my credit card, the hotel had the right to charge anytime, and I wasn't able to get any money back if I canceled anyways), but it caused a ton of unnecessary stress.

We booked the suite with see view which was amazing and the best they have probably. Very much enjoyed lounging in our balcony and enjoying the sunsets from the private pool. Staff were friendly but spoke no English. There were a few very cute and kind stray dogs that stole our hearts and never bothered us. The pool area is very nice too, not too busy when we were there but at night it was very quiet, almost deserted.

Food was a hit or miss. The day menu has. A lot of options but the evening menu is very limited.

Rooms looked as good as the pictures, we had a sundeck room. The design was spacious and thoughtful with lots of little touches such as automated lights and a very spacious bathroom and shower. The jacuzzi upstairs was awesome, felt like we were in the forest canopy watching the sunset. Service was excellent across the board, especially Dairo who took care of us. The place felt luxurious and the food and drink were good. We had full access to the facilities including the beautiful pool and lounge beds. Breakfast was especially good. Although it's a la carte (i.e. pay as you go) It was a step up from 4.5 and 5 star all inclusives we have been to and the level of quality justified the price.

Night menu could use some more variety and lighter options, especially since there isn't much in terms of off resort options.

they gave me a different room of what I had booked and they informed me when I was already there so I could not change the hotel or anything at all. I paid the price of the real room and I was supposed to have been granted VIP access but all the guests had it too. The day trips can be sometimes a bit disturbing when they are big groups. Also, you have street dogs running all over the place. apparently they are not dangerous, but you never know. In the ground floor rooms the jacuzzis are useless as most of the time are dirty because of the plants, and crowded with mosquitoes. I even saw a cow drinking from one jacuzzi.
