Reviewed Aug 31, 2026Das Zimmer selbst war sehr gut, komfortabel und sehr gut ausgestattet, ebenso das große Bad.
Obwohl sich die Unterkunft als B&B bezeichnet, gibt es Sonntag, Montag und Dienstag kein Frühstück. Das war auf der Seite von booking com nicht ersichtlich und ist gerade sonntags ein Problem, weil viele Cafés geschlossen haben. Wir hatten die Unterkunft u. a. wegen der positiven Berichte über das Frühstück ausgewählt und wurden nach der Buchung unangenehm überrascht. Dazu kam, dass der Vermieter schriftlich über booking.com nicht zu erreichen war.

Reviewed Jul 9, 2026Rooms were very good - good-size, well-equipped, clean, comfortable, very quiet. Full length mirrors on back of wardrobe doors, - yeah! - except my room, but I discovered on, Day 2, that the shower screen was effectively a mirror. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Allowed us to keep one of the rooms on departure till our airport transfer at 12.00. Excellent breakfast but see below.
Minor niggles only. Hair-dryer took a bit of finding, but located in drawer inside drawer under wash-hand basin. Excellent breakfast but our party found it way too much. Full breakfast, prebooked for our first morning, was 3 eggs with trimmings each, plus croissant, roll, pain au chocolat and yoghurt each, plus cheese, ham, butter and jam, plus orange juice and tea/coffee. Didn't request breakfast for the following day. We didn't select any cooked options for our last morning, and the 'continental' items were more than enough. Breakfast was quoted at E22 and we were charged this Fair enough - our choice - but perhaps consider offering the option? Breakfast has to be pre-booked by 10 pm the previous evening, so it should be possible and it would avoid waste. No soap in the bathrooms for hand-washing. We bought soap. A refillable hand-wash dispenser would resolve this very easily.

Reviewed May 8, 2026I stayed at Den Ommegang so that I could visit some of the Lambiek producers in the area. One of them, Den Herberg, is just a bit further along the street. I used local bus and train services to visit several others. The room was very spacious, with a comfortable bed and chairs. There was a nice view over the terrace at the back of the restaurant, which has an interesting menu. It was good to have a fridge so that I could keep food fresh and sort out my own breakfast. There's easy access to the Zennepad footpath along the river. Halle is a short walk away.
The coffee machine only makes coffee. Fortunately I had a kettle with me so I was able to make other hot drinks. There only seemed to be subscription services on the television.

Not very good noise isolation so you can hear lots of things from the adjacent rooms and the hallway. For us was ok eventually but probably depends on your context. No outside space, even for the B&B overall. We didn't find a space to park the car in the public parking lot in front of the building so I had to park on a dark alley further down the road (nothing bad happened but good to be aware).

Ontzettend jammer dat het een B&B betreft zonder ontbijt op dinsdag en woensdagochtend. Al was er maar een mandje met brood als actie van de bakker.

Reviewed Oct 8, 2024Comfortable bed and elegant modern bathroom. The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner. The owner was very accommodating and provided us with a dinner table at the restaurant at very short notice although it was peak hour on a Saturday evening.
Some toiletries were missing. Didn't match exactly what was listed. But we had ours anyway.

Restaurant was busy and needed reservations which we didn’t have and we were left without dinner. As it was weekend, other restaurant in town were also busy, so I would recommend making a prior reservation. The building was very hot. The thermostat was set to 18 degrees, so that was certainly not the cause but had to use the air conditioning.
