Reviewed Aug 17, 2026It was close to my sister's place, so I was able to walk to and from after each visit. It's also very close to Invercargill Hospital should you need it. There was an efficient heater in the room for the frosty mornings.
I can't complain as I knew it was with shared bathroom and toilet.

I can't really think of anything so I'll just have to say that The toilet being so far away from the bedrooms haha But this isn't something you can change. And it's such a minor thing. It can be easily disregarded because of all of the other Amazing qualities!

The room was spacious, clean, and well-presented, with a very comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The privacy provided was excellent, and the bathroom facilities were modern, clean, and well-maintained. Reviewed May 10, 2026I loved the location and the homely feel made it so easy to relax. The complimentary breakfast made my life so much easier as I was up super early for the education days I was doing at the hospital. I loved the lock box as I was able to arrive when I got out of education without having to hassle anyone since my finish time was unpredictable.
It was cold on arrival but the heater fixed that. The toilet being out the back was a bit inconvenient but it's what it is with older houses.

Reviewed Apr 2, 2026In my 3 weeks in NZ this was probably the most comfortable bed I slept in! Sharon was very welcoming and there were breakfast things available which was a nice touch (though I did not partake as I left very early as the weather was terrible that day and I had some distance to drive).
The bathroom was on the other side of the house (through common areas) - this was my personal issue with sharing I learnt as I travelled (not a reflection on the space).

Reviewed Feb 25, 2026Property was so clean inside, very cozy and private. You are staying with the host in their house and using their kitchen, etc. laundry is $10 a load and hot showers and comfy bed make this place so worth it on our road trip. Definitely recommend!!

Washing machine was broken and there was a security camera in the living room and near the toilet which wasn't cool.

When i booked it I did not read well enough to realize that you are actually renting a room in someone's house and sharing all the common spaces with them. That part was not that bad just that I was not expecting that. The house has a bit of a weird set up with the one toilet past the living room and kitchen, but again, it is really not that big a deal, if you are ready for it. The location is a bit run down in sort of a run down neighborhood, but what the heck if you are just there for one night. Felt good to support the hosts

When we arrived our hosts were not at home and we did not meet them until the morning after our arrival, which was weird. It felt like we were in their space and felt like we were in the way, and not as guests. It does not look as clean as the pictures make it out to be, the bathroom in particular.

Reviewed Oct 23, 2025Sehr gemütlich, alles tip top sauber, schön warm, super ausgestattet! Sharon war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, hat uns alles gezeigt und ein super Gefühl gegeben! Der Game Room war ein nettes Plus aber es war sehr angenehm mal wieder in einer richtig sauberen, heißen Dusche zu duschen und ein super bequemes süßes Zimmer zu haben. Jederzeit wieder!

THEY PROVIDED COMPANY, FACILITIES, TRUSTED ME WITH STAYING WHILE THEY HOLIDAYED AND WERE GREAT HOSTS. I CAN'T RECOMMEND THEM ENOUGH.
