I stayed at Isla Retreat for 4 nights and had an amazing time! I felt very comfortable from the moment I arrived. Everyone working there was incredibly kind, welcoming, and helpful. There was such a great variety of activities to do both on the island and around it, so there was always something to discover. The restaurant was lovely and offered a great selection of food. The room was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. I especially appreciated that it was cleaned several times a day.

As someone who truly appreciates aesthetics, I loved the hotel’s style, its cozy atmosphere, the beautiful views from my room, and the simple joy of walking barefoot every day, feeling completely connected to nature. A special thank you to Andy, who made my stay incredibly active and unforgettable. From snorkeling with turtles and rays to taking me to a breathtaking uninhabited island, where we had the most magical photoshoot—every experience was thoughtfully planned and truly special. I’m leaving with a heart full of beautiful emotions, incredible memories, and a strong desire to come back. My next dream is to see a whale shark, and I know exactly where I’ll return to make that dream come true. Thank you, Isla Retreat, for making this trip so special. Nothing to complain about

Isla Retreat exceeded our wildest expectations. The staff were at the center of our experience and went out of our way to ensure our comfort. Hasan ensured we were able to make the best of all excursions that the weather permitted and despite a weeklong stay, it felt way too short for how much the resort had to offer. The food was amazing, with generous serving sizes and the restaurant staff were all extremely courteous and considerate of our requests. All excursions are very reasonably priced- we were pleasantly surprised at our invoice. The outdoor cinema was a lovely addition for a quiet night.

Absolutely nothing to complain about

We liked everything. This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The staff were amazing — very attentive to detail, cleaning throughout the day, refilling water, and changing the linen regularly. The view was incredible; waking up every morning and seeing the beautiful ocean was truly something special. The hotel offers many different activities, such as snorkeling, shark watching, manta watching, and much more. Another great feature is that they provide free bikes, SUP boards, and kayaks. We cycled every day to the other side of the island to enjoy the breathtaking Bikini Beach. The hotel also has its own restaurant with many food options, and the view from there is amazing, especially in the evening during dinner. Hands down, this was one of the best experiences we have ever had. I definitely recommend this place, the people, and the hotel. We will absolutely come back if we visit the island again in the future.

Chaque aspect du séjour a été pensé pour que les clients se sentent parfaitement bien. J’ai particulièrement apprécié les excursions authentiques organisées par le propriétaire et son équipe. Elles permettent de découvrir l’île d’une manière unique, au plus près de ses habitants, de ses paysages et de son histoire. L’île elle-même dégage une atmosphère très familiale et chaleureuse, où l’on se sent immédiatement bien accueilli. Plus qu’un simple séjour, j’ai vécu une véritable expérience humaine. Je repartirai avec de magnifiques souvenirs et je recommande cet établissement les yeux fermés. J'ai oublié de vous parler des cuisiniers… Chaque plats étaient incroyable! Merci à toute l’équipe !

Le seul petit point à noter concerne l’eau de la douche, qui dégage une odeur assez particulière. Le propriétaire nous a toutefois expliqué qu’il travaillait actuellement à résoudre ce problème. Cela ne nous a absolument pas empêchés de nous doucher confortablement et n’a eu aucun effet sur notre peau ou nos cheveux. Il s’agit davantage d’une question d’odeur que d’un réel désagrément.

Mein Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war rundum perfekt. Es hat an wirklich nichts gefehlt – man ist jederzeit bestens versorgt, egal ob beim Essen, bei den Aktivitäten oder durch die hervorragende Ausstattung. Der Service ist außergewöhnlich freundlich und aufmerksam, sodass man sich vom ersten Moment an willkommen fühlt. Die gesamte Atmosphäre vermittelt ein Gefühl von Zuhause, wodurch man schnell den Alltag hinter sich lässt und keinerlei Heimweh verspürt. Der Aufenthalt eignet sich wirklich für jeden – ob Paare, Alleinreisende oder Familien – hier kommt jeder auf seine Kosten. Die Insel selbst bietet alles, was man sich wünschen kann: wunderschöne Strände, eine traumhafte Umgebung und eine sehr entspannte Stimmung. Besonders hervorzuheben sind auch die Einheimischen, die unglaublich freundlich und herzlich sind und den Aufenthalt noch angenehmer machen. Ich werde dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall wieder besuchen. Während meines Aufenthalts habe ich mein Handy kaum genutzt – außer um die vielen schönen Momente und Eindrücke festzuhalten.

Весь персонал отеля заслуживает самой высокой оценки! Все были очень дружелюбные, вежливые и неравнодушие. Прекрасная работа менеджера отеля, все вопросы решались очень быстро, экскурсии были организованы на высшем уровне! За две недели мы стали друзьями. Мне устроили незабываемый день рождение, организовали приятные сюрпризы и праздник! Номер был всегда чистый, полотенце и белье свежее, всегда была вода, постель очень комфортная. Еда в этом отеле заслуживает отдельной отметки. Мы наслаждались каждым блюдом, меню очень разнообразное, мы даже не успели все попробовать. А самое приятное, что учитывали наши предпочтения! Особенно нужно отметить что для нас были организованы все возможные экскурсии: посмотреть на дельфинов, плавать с акулами, снорклинг на рифе, снорклинг с черепахами, рыбалка, светящийся планктон и пикник на необитаемом прекрасном острове. Эти экскурсии оставили незабываемые впечатления! Гид был настоящий профессионал, мы чувствовали себя в безопасности, он всегда оказывал нам поддержку и помощь. Каждый день нам предлагали новые экскурсии и развлечения. Провести время в этом месте было прекрасным выбором, с незабываемыми впечатлениям! Мы хотим еще раз поблагодарить каждого сотрудника этого отеля, скучаем и надеемся на новую встречу в будущем!

Das gesamte Hotel ist unglaublich liebevoll gestaltet und Hassan gibt sich größte Mühe. Da wir die einzigen Gäste im Hotel waren, wurden wir sogar gratis auf ein Zimmer mit Meerblick geupgraded! Das Frühstück war lecker und man konnte verschiedene Speisen von einer Karte wählen. Basics, wie Obst oder Müsli standen in Buffetform bereit. Auch das Abendessen war sehr lecker und der Nachtisch fantastisch. Das Küchenteam gibt sich große Mühe. Wir haben drei Ausflüge direkt übers Hotel gebucht, auch hier hat alles reibungslos funktioniert und die Guides waren sehr gut. Die Preise sind mehr als fair. Tauchen mit Mantas, Haien und Schildkröten muss man unbedingt gemacht haben. Zudem waren wir nur zu zweit (+Guides) unterwegs und man ist nicht mit 30 anderen Touristen auf eine Schildkröte losgestürmt. Fahrräder, Kayaks und SUPs stehen gratis zur Verfügung. Der Bikinistrand ist zu Fuß knappe 5 Minuten entfernt. Liegen sind ausreichend am Strand vorhanden und gratis. Für die "Nicht-Bikini" Strände reichen eine kurze Hose und Tshirt. Mückenspray sollte man allerdings griffbereit haben. Die Insel ist traumhaft, wir waren 3 Tage dort und hatten genug Zeit alles zu erkunden. Im kleinen Shop gab es das Nötigste und auch ein bisschen Snacks und Obst für einen langen Strandtag. Bezahlen kann man hier mit MVR. Es steht ein ATM zur Verfügung. Im Hotel geht auch Kartenzahlung. Es sind nur wenige Touristen auf der Insel, was das ganze natürlich nochmal besonderer macht. Zweimal täglich wird das Zimmer gereinigt und Trinkwasser bereitgestellt. Das WLAN funktioniert einwandfrei und es gibt einen Smart TV. Das gesamte Hotelpersonal ist sehr bemüht und kompetent. Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen, das Hotel hat unsere Vorstellungen übertroffen:)

Auf der Insel liegt an manchen Stellen ein bisschen Müll, aber dafür kann das Hotel ja nichts.

Isla Retreat is truly a little paradise. The rooms and the entire place feel like something out of a dream, peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly well taken care of. What really made our stay special was the people. They were so flexible with us the whole time, always making sure we were comfortable and happy. Hassan, the manager, is constantly attentive and genuinely cares about every guest’s experience. The room boy and the staff at the restaurant were also amazing: always kind, helpful, and welcoming. We honestly felt at home from the moment we arrived. We can’t wait to come back. 100% recommended!

Die Unterkunft ist extrem stilvoll eingerichtet. Es hat mehr etwas von einem Boutique-Hotel, als von einem Gasthaus. Wir waren im Zimmer 204 und hatten einen traumhaften Ausblick. Das Personal ist extrem freundlich! Wir haben uns sehr wohl und gut aufgehoben gefühlt. Täglich wird Trinkwasser auf den Zimmern aufgefüllt, Strandtücher gewechselt und eine Strandtasche ist ebenfalls vorhanden. Man muss sich um nichts kümmern. Man kann sich kostenlos Fahrräder, Stand Up Paddles oder ein Kayak ausleihen. Auch die Ausflüge waren toll! Das Team sorgt für ein wirklich atemberaubendes Erlebnis. Wir waren rundum begeistert. Die Ruhe der Insel war perfekt für uns und genau das, was wir gebraucht haben. Wir haben es geliebt jeden Tag mit den Fahrrädern den ca. 2 km langen Weg zum hinteren Bikini Beach zu fahren.

Das Leitungswasser wird aus einer Quelle gewonnen und roch für uns unangenehm. Die Zimmer sind sehr hellhörig.

Un séjour absolument inoubliable — le plus beau voyage de ma vie. Tout était parfait du début à la fin. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse incroyable, toujours attentionné, chaleureux… au point qu’on a vraiment eu l’impression de faire partie d’une petite famille. C’est rare de se sentir aussi bien accueilli. Les excursions proposées par l’hôtel étaient tout simplement parfaites. Que ce soit pour le snorkeling ou la plongée, les équipes étaient super professionnelles, bienveillantes et passionnées. On s’est toujours sentis en sécurité, tout en vivant des expériences exceptionnelles. Un autre point qui rend cet endroit unique : il y a très peu de touristes. L’hôtel est le seul sur l’île, qui est très peu habitée, avec même une partie totalement déserte. Résultat : des plages paradisiaques presque rien que pour nous… un luxe incroyable. C’est exactement l’idée qu’on se fait du paradis, mais en encore mieux une fois sur place. Je recommande à 100%, et j’y retournerais sans hésiter.

Isla Retreat is a beautiful small boutique Hotel with a fantastic service quality. The Island is an absolute Paradise with very few tourists and lonely beaches. The Hotel provides free bicycles so you can reach the next bikini beach in around 5 minutes and the end of the island (with a big, pretty beach) in around 15 minutes. Alternatively you can take a SUP oder Kajak, also provided free of charge. There is a lot of equipment and other activities that are included. Other activities and excursions, such as swimming with sharks or Mantas, snorkeling with seaturtles and diving courses (also for complete beginners like me) are offered at a fair price. The service quality in general is outstanding and deserves a special shoutout: Romy is a very lovely roomboy, always wearing a smile and cleaning our room two times a day to our fullest satisfaction. Hassan is a very friendly manager, looking after our well-being 24/7 and showing us his favorite spots on the island (to stargaze for example). We were also lucky to meet the owner, Ismail. He is a unique person with a lot of experience and insights that he was willing to share with us. The hotel also contains a gym, a library and a game room. We were very excited about those... but never used them in the end, as the Island had so much to offer! Important Note: The transfer by speedboat takes around 1 3/4h from Male Airport and is operated by a third party (Atoll Cute, Costs: 57$ per way per person), 2 times a day.

Unfortunately, the beach in front of the hotel is in a non-bikini area (which is totally fine, just important to know). The food was generally good, but not outstanding. There are a good amount of options to choose from with local, Indian and European menus (we had halfboard, so a à la carte breakfast and a 3-course à la carte dinner was included). Especially the dessert Menu leaves some room for improvement. But it was all fresh and tasty (which is honestly an achievement by its own, being located in the middle of an ocean). Restaurant Service also couldn't keep up with the rest, but was generally solid. There is a preorder system, so your food doesn't take long to prepare. We didn't really like that system, as we prefer to sit down, look at the menu and then order (while being okey with some wait time), but that might be personal preference.

Me gustó TODO y esta tercera vez que fui a Fehendhoo, me traje a una amiga. Mi amiga le encantó TODO! El Hotel, la isla local, las excursiones que hicimos, el personal del hotel, la comida, el personal de las excursiones (guias: Soppe y Yakku). Es una isla tranquila que no esta masificada de turistas, se desconecta mucho y disfrutas de su color de agua en la maravillosa bikini beach. El hotel ofrece gratis, coger tablas de Paddle Surf, nosotras fuimos a ver el sunset con las tablas de Paddle Surf. Espectacular la verdad! Mi amiga y yo estamos pensando en volver para julio/agosto.

Le personnel était au petit soin pour nous, l’établissement est adorable et de qualité. Les repas sont bons et l’emplacement est très bien pour visiter cette petite île locale qui est bien entretenue et la vie y est paisible. Nous avons fait le choix de faire une île locale avant une île resort afin de découvrir la culture locale et nous n’avons pas été déçue. Vous pouvez y allez les yeux fermés ils sont au top. Assan le manager nous a aidé afin de prévoir les transfert vers notre prochaine île et ce n’a pas été si facile alors merci à lui pour son aide. Merci à toute l’équipe.

The hotel was absolutely stunning, with beautiful surroundings and thoughtfully designed interiors. The service was excellent, the staff were friendly, professional, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay special. Overall, a truly wonderful experience, and we sure come back again!

This is a small boutique hotel. Very quiet and super clean. The manager Hassan keeps everything very well organized and we could count on him in any issue. The hotel organizes boat trips to many beautiful places around, and have a very good famous dive center Fyna Divers - well equipped (everyhing is new, clean and working) and fully proffessional - special thanks to our divemaster Sofwan and Andy. The restaurant is nice - they serve good, fresh and tasty food. All personel was nice and friendly to us. We were honestly very happy that we found this hotel.

We had an amazing stay I highly recommend this place.

A fantastic stay at the beautiful Isla Retreat. The interiors are impressive, with a calm atmosphere and tasteful design. The guesthouse is very peaceful, which makes it a perfect place to truly relax. There were free SUP boards and kayaks available on site, and it was also possible to rent equipment for diving, snorkeling, and other water activities, as well as organize additional paid trips. Although the breakfasts were not very varied, they were served as a buffet, so everyone could easily find something they liked. The restaurant served very good fish and other local dishes. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. A huge advantage of this place is the additional amenities and activities available, such as a small library, a gym, billiards, table tennis, and even a telescope for stargazing at night.

Although from our perspective this was not a downside, it is worth noting that the guesthouse is located right next to a mosque. During the day, and at night as well (during Ramadan), the prayers held there can be clearly heard.

An absolute gem! 11/10 experience in a local island in Maldives! Big thank you to all the staff in the Isla Retreat for making our stay so magical. We came for 3 nights and wished we could stay for another week. The hotel provides an absolute relaxation and a sense of peace. They provide free bicycles to explore the island, boat tours and scuba diving, there is Ana amazing restaurant on the rooftop and every single room is esthetically pleasing and comforting. We were planning on only having breakfasts there, but ended up coming for every meal because it was great! The guys working there are very charming and welcoming. Will definitely recommend this place to everyone! Hoping to come back someday!

Everything was amazing. The room exceeded our expectations, the view was stunning, and the beach was right nearby. The staff was incredibly friendly and always ready to help. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in the Maldives.

The Hotel was beautiful. It was fun that they have a ping pong table and a billiard table. The Manager Hassan was always responding within minutes and helping us out. The beds were comfotable and the food tasty.

Unfortunately the hotel room was not cleaned properly. Hair and mold and ants were in the room. The bathroom had a bad smell.

I felt like home. Cosy and at the same time very good hospitality .

Our goal was to experience both the Maldives and a local island, and this hotel was perfectly suited for that. It offers everything you need for relaxation as well as activities. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The island is beautiful and not crowded with tourists, which made the stay even more enjoyable. We will definitely return to Isla Retreat.

Nos gustó Todo. La amabilidad del personal, sobretodo Andy que es el jefe siempre está pendiente que no le falte de nada a los huéspedes. La instalación del gimnasio es perfecta, las habitaciones amplias y limpias, la comida del restaurante, tanto el desayuno, comida y cena muy bueno todo. También tienen bicicletas para moverte por la isla e incluso ir a la bikini beach. Las excursiones geniales.

Dies ist eine der schönsten Unterkünfte, die wir je aufgesucht haben. Die Zimmer entsprechen den Bildern. Und die Insel ist noch so schon einsam wie auf den Bildern. Zimmer104/5 und 204/5 sind die, mit dem schönsten Blick. Ismael und Andy leiten das Hotel. Sie sind jederzeit ansprechbar und stehen mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Das Küchenteam von Avi zaubert vor allen Dingen abends die besten Gerichte der Insel. Das Frühstück ist einfach aber gut. Rojan und Dalowar sind für den roomservice zuständig und kümmern sich liebevoll um die Zimmer, immer gutgelaunt und mit einem Lächeln auf den Lippen. Wer abschalten und sich erholen möchte, ist hier an der richtigen Stelle. UNVERGESSEN und ein Muss, der Mango-Shake.

Very large, clean and cozy room with beach and sea view. Breakfast and dinner are served on the big and nice rooftop. You can borrow bikes for free to ride to the bikini beach.

The bathroom smells a little musty. The room doors are quite loud so that you can hear the neighbours of the same floor.

We really enjoyed our stay at Isla Retreat. First, the island of Fehendhoo is small and walkable, it has an amazing bikini beach down the road from the hotel. The ferry from Male to Fehendhoo was simple and Isla picked us up at the dock with our bags. Arrival was nice, cold cloth and a welcome fruit drink. The rooms are so pleasant and comfortable - AC and fans as needed, kept us very cool in the afternoons when we rested. The balcony was equipped with a clothes line to dry wet swim suits. Our room overlooked the beach in front of the hotel (where you can also sunbathe). Bed was comfortable and the showers have plenty of hot water. I loved the window seat for a reading nook (the hotel has a library for physical books during your stay). The restaurant is on the top floor, great views of the water and you can dine al fresco in the evenings. We stayed a week and found there was plenty of variety in the menu where you didn't need to repeat meals. However, I enjoyed the fish so much I had it 3 times. Breakfast was included with our rate, which was great, and we had a leisurely breakfast every day. The hotel has a list of activities and will help you get setup for whatever you may want to do, including scuba diving if that is of interest. We really enjoyed the rose garden snorkel, fish feeding and island drop. We also got to play with the bioluminescence one evening, which was a lot of fun. My partner took advantage of some scuba. They also have kayaks, SUP and floats for guest use, we had a nice kayak one day to the bikini beach. The staff are all friendly and nice, going out of their way to support anything you might need. Overall, just a lovely experience, we would definitely come back for another visit. It's likely that the island will get busier in coming years as there are several resorts being built, but right now its very quiet and local, super relaxing.

Cudowne miejsce, piękne, nowoczesne wnętrza, super lokalizacja i klimat, pyszne jedzenie a dodatkowo personel był cudowny- niezwykle miły, pomocny i profesjonalny. Warto również skorzystać z oferowanych przez hotel wycieczek- są super zorganizowane! Na pewno wrócimy!

Only critique I can make is the water pressure in the shower, which honestly isn't the worst but if there was one constructive criticism I could make, that would be it.

Food was better than I expected. The retreat also exceeded my expectations with service and cleanliness. I do not think there is anything that I did not like. Being able to mix with the locals made it an amazing experience.

Vše bylo naprosto perfektní!! Zajištění speedboatu z Malé a do Malé - vyzvednutí a odvoz z a do přístavu na Fehendhoo (kvalitní speedboat společnosti Atoll Cute - dostanete vodu, malý džus a malou svačinu). Uvítání - představení ostrova + popis vybavení a prostor celého hotelu. Restaurace - snídaně, 3 chodové obědy + večeře (objednání skrze WhatsApp s předstihem, abyste nemuseli dlouho čekat a jídlo bylo připravené). Personál - milý, usměvavý, nápomocný. Kolo před hotelem pro možnost přesunu na vzdálenější pláže. Úklid pokoje 2x denně (ráno + večer), výměna ručníků (do sprchy i plážových), pravidelné doplňování pitné vody do skleněných lahví.

Není nic, co by stálo za připomínku. Jediné 2 věci: 1. počet "bikini" pláží, při plné obsazenosti může být problém s počtem míst, ale to se nás při našem pobytu naštěstí netýkalo. 2. vzdálenost od Malé cca 2 hodiny speedboatem přes otevřený oceán. V případě špatného počasí nebo mořské nemoci může být cesta náročnější.

If you really want to relax, be close to nature, have the ocean right at your fingertips, yet not give up the comfort of a well-equipped and well-managed hotel — you’ve found the perfect spot! Everything here is top-notch; the staff are incredible — kind, smiling, and always ready to help with anything you need. The place is wonderfully quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by lush greenery. The food at the restaurant is also delicious. Breakfasts are rich, fresh, and incredibly tasty — and so are the dinners. You can enjoy both European dishes and Maldivian specialties, which I wholeheartedly recommend. The island itself is breathtaking — it truly feels like paradise. It’s a place untouched by mass tourism. On Bikini Beach, you can feel as if you’re on a deserted island. You can enjoy a variety of water activities available at the hotel and on the island: SUP, snorkeling, jet skiing, or fishing. But you can also simply relax by the ocean, enjoy the beautiful beaches, or take a walk through the jungle. You can even use the hotel’s bicycles. The hotel features beautifully furnished rooms, a gym, a library, and even a telescope! It has everything you could possibly need. A stay at Isla Retreat is a true relaxation for both body and soul.

Также отметить хотела, что в отеле есть все для отдыха на воде, предоставляют сапы, каяки и снаряжение для снорклинга абсолютно бесплатно.

Единственное, это трансфер, к сожалению его график очень ограниченный и ездит лодка всего раз в день, поэтому первый наш день сгорел и мы остались в Мале, из-за того что наш рейс был позже лодки

Die Unterkunft ist tip top. Alles sauber und ordentlich. Allerdings müsste die Insel das Problem mit dem überall herumliegenden Müll in den Griff bekommen.

All the staff was wonderful. They were very attentive to every request. The food at the resort was very good but somewhat of a limited menu. The island was quiet and remote and the scenery was amazing! We did snorkeling and scuba tours which were amazing! If you are looking for secluded downtime reading a book on the beach, it is a perfect location. We were in the off season and literally saw on one other tourist on the island. The photos that are in the listing are accurate. The rooms are beautiful and very comfortable with ceiling fan and A/C.

We were looking for low key and isolated but discovered that maybe we went a little far. 1hr 45min to get to the island and really nothing else on the island. There was a small store and a pharmacy. No shops or other restaurants. We couldn't even buy sunscreen. There is no snorkeling directly on the island. You have to go out on a tour which was great but did require traveling. Did a fishing trip but be aware that this is more like going out with a local and watching them fish than actually fishing. We caught a couple fish but I never touched a rod just watched the local guy.

Extremely friendly staff. Super fresh fish in the restaurant. Design of the hotel. After a couple of days on Fehendu, getting to know the island and the hotel team, you get into the atmosphere. And the longer you stay, the more you like it. The owner of Isla retreat — Ismail is really interested in making hotel a good place. He was always helpful and ready to find a solution. I can’t say that everything was totally perfect, but personal is always working on the quality of hospitality and this is really great. Smell of the water is sulfuric, but it wasn’t that bad. Also important thing: they put drinking water (without any smell) in bathrooms for rinsing mouth.

Amazing people (the owner, chef, room service, waiters), delicious food, comfortable rooms, quiet and peaceful surroundings, beautiful beach. Everything was top-notch. A perfect accommodation for longer stays. It was hard to leave this tropical oasis of relaxation.

Like everyone before us has said, Isla Retreat is a gem. It is a wonderful hotel, decorated with great taste, creating a warm atmosphere. It is very, very clean, with rooms and the restaurant offering amazing views. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are always fresh and tasty. What truly makes this place so special and rich is the staff, who make you feel like you're at a friend's house—always there to help, so friendly, and so welcoming. We also fell in love with the two little cats doing stand-up paddle as well as the owner ;-). You can take bicycles to explore the island, which we loved. You can also enjoy stand-up paddles, and there's a wonderful beach right next to the hotel, plus many beautiful beaches (both bikini and non-bikini) around the island. The island itself is a gem—still natural and not crowded, where you can feel the Maldivian culture and experience the way people live. Once again, everyone was so welcoming. And let's not forget all the amazing trips you can take with the Isla Retreat staff: manta snorkeling, rose reef garden snorkeling, sea turtles, dolphins at sunset, little sharks, bioluminescent plankton, sandbanks or simply admiring the stunning night sky full of stars. Shukuriyaa to Akoo, thank you to Ismail and the whole team for making our stay on your beloved island unforgettable.

Staying at this place was pure pleasure! The owner Mr. Ismail has poured his heart and soul into making this resort a great place to stay. He has brought all of his experience in the hospitality industry and made this a gem of a place. Everything from building, decor and furnishing looked excellent.

Everything was excellent, starting from the location, just in front of the beach, the room and common places' design. Very good food. The island itself is gorgeous

This hotel was absolutely stunning! The interior design is incredible, with attention to every detail, creating a beautifully stylish and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were all fantastic—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The restaurant upstairs was also amazing, offering delicious food in a lovely setting with great views. The absolute highlight though was two very cuddly cats that chilled in the hotel’s lobby area! Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.

The smoke of garbages burning was sometimes noticeable in the common areas (not the rooms) but it’s not something the hotel can affect.

An absolute gem in the Maldives. The island is amazing and still pristine, the locals are very friendly and the hotel itself is AMAZING. It gives you a feeling of staying at a friends house. They also have Fina diving centre, the first free diving school in the Maldives. Free diving with Ismail (the owner) was the best possible way to explore the island and the rich ocean life.

The food, including the desserts, were absolutely delicious. As a vegetarian, I greatly appreciated how the restaurant went above and beyond to cater to my dietary needs. Designer hotel, outstanding facilities. Beautiful views from any window! Very prompt and kind assistance of all staff. Chef will serve you a local reef fish like in a 5 star hotel. Absolutely loved our stay. Don’t forget to visit wild white sand bikini beach with sand banks, which is at the very end of the island🏝️ , it’s impressive.

This hotel is very new and recently opened. With only a limited number of rooms and guests, the service is truly exceptional. The staff, from the owner to every team member, are outstanding. From the moment you make your booking, they take care of every detail until your departure. They are always accessible via WhatsApp, and your feedback is immediately addressed. The island itself is breathtaking, and the local community is incredibly welcoming and kind.

The water quality had an unpleasant smell, likely due to the high mineral content. While the issue was brought to the management’s attention and subsequently improved, it was still noticeable. The food options were somewhat limited, but they were actively working on expanding them and were always responsive to any Food requests.

Isla Retreat is a wonderful boutique hotel situated on an amazingly beautiful local Island. The staff is very friendly rooms get cleaned twice a day, everything is an architectural and design marvel. The hotel has a private beach and also there are many other beaches on the island worth visiting. The water sports are also very nice and accessible. We simply loved it and would highly recommend to anyone to experience this place and island.

The food offer and quality could be better.

Very stylish, good location, reasonably clean, great food, kind staff

Somewhat poor value because it is understaffed, especially the kitchen. Staff are great doing their best though, daily cleaning is good but deep cleaning could be better (stains in sink that you can rub off with nails), and rigid rules with no shoes allowed in stairs or hallways. Also, food has to be pre-booked at least 2 hours ahead for specific times but is always 30-40 min late, and cleaning staff is not aware when food has been booked so they come in when you are in the room instead of when you are out eating. Also, outdoor terrace has no shade so cannot be used during sunny hours (too hot). This could be improved.

nice combination of location, design, simplicity supported by a price. I really was surprised to have a good stay not in a resort on Maldives. I got comfy mattress, caring and supportive staff, diving center and good reef close by - overall a very good place for a long staycation.

with my perfectionism cleaning is superficial, however they have it like this everywhere at Maldives. At least this doesn’t bother when you didn’t expect any.

We recently had a pleasure of staying at Isla Retreat and we were truly impressed by the attention to detail throughout the property. It was clear that the owners have thoughtfully considered every aspect of guest comfort. The room was equipped with everything that each guest might need – from a small refrigerator and air conditioning to high-quality toilet articles. We were also pleasantly surprised to find yoga mats and a beach bag, which showed how much they care about catering to a variety of guest needs. We cannot mention enough how comfortable the bed was! The room itself was spacious, clean and beautifully designed, offering a great balance of comfort and style. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth, and we even got a small excursion of the island. Another great feature was the cleanliness. The room was cleaned twice a day, which kept everything fresh and tidy during our stay. The food was delicious and well-prepared, though we would suggest expanding the menu a bit for more variety, especially for longer stays. That said, every meal we had was flavorful and satisfying. The Bikini Beach on the island was quiet and secluded, making it a great spot for a peaceful getaway. The calm atmosphere and beautiful views made it a perfect place to relax. A big thank you to the wonderful staff (Aku, Putu, Ismail, and all the other guys whose names we didn't catch) for making our stay so enjoyable. Your warmth and attention to detail truly made a difference, and we look forward to returning!

The rooms are just as beautiful as shown in pictures and also provide a yoga mat and a beach bag. The whole building feels really spacious, bright and open and has its own Bikini beach area right in front, where you can just hang out or go snorkeling or stand up paddling. You get daily updates about weather, tides and activities. Even if the island is really remote and luckily not touristy, you can pretty much do any activity like snorkeling trips, fishing trips, dolphin cruise etc, all carefully prepared and done by the owner Ismail himself. On top of that there were complimentary activities done by Ismail such as house reef snorkeling and short thematic walks, so you could truly get to know the island and Maldivian culture. The island itself is also just super beautiful. With only a small village, half of the island is pretty green jungle and the bikini beach area spans across a wide part of the island. You cannot walk all around the isla nd, which makes it perfect to have nice little isolated beach areas to yourself. Also the house reef of the island is amazing with so many different fish - it’s just a dream for snorkeling. If you are lucky you can even see Manta rays right from the beach or from the SUP. What really makes this place special is the people who go above and beyond so that you can have your perfect holiday - from fresh coconut right from the tree or amazing chai tea, to organizing trips that are not regularly offered. If you have any questions or need anything, you can always reach out to the wonderful team and everybody will be warm and welcoming. For my personal taste, I would have loved to have some more local food options on the menu. Especially as the Maldivian breakfast and fish dish were really great.

The owner Ismail is a passionate, highly skilled, and experienced free diver who is eager to deliver excellence! He is one of a kind and lives at the property himself! Andy and Akoo are awesome too! Great hosts! Beautiful property, lots of smart choices regarding the interior design and setup! Can’t wait to see Isla retreat in full bloom with all its additional options like the gym. Breakfast, especially the Maldivian one was delicious! Good coffee! The bikini beach with its sandbanks and the snorkel area close by, reachable by bicycle or via a 20 minute walk are stunning, especially for sunsets. Worth it to do the walk to the other end of Fehendhoo! A mini shop, soccer field as well as another restaurant are in walking distance of the guest house. Mosquito repellent is sprayed twice a day which helps a lot. If you can, try to arrange a tour to hanifaru bay and a snorkeling or diving trip at the reef edge of the lagoon. If you are very lucky you might even spot some manta rays in front of Isla retreat. Take a kayak to explore the two surrounding islands and sandbanks or go for a fishing trip. Can’t beat a catch of the day caught by yourself and prepared by the chef! Another highlight: bbq night at the beach prepared by the team! You guys rock! The small corrals in front of the guesthouse are worth a visit too. Don’t hesitate to ask for the excellent snorkeling equipment. I can only guess but from what we experienced from the sideline: if you are into free diving, there seems to be no better teacher not place to be. Don’t forget to fully relax at the beach, and fall asleep in one of the hammocks near by 😄 enjoy the island time and the fact that you are on a local remote island

The food selection and portion size was less than we expected. The staff is friendly, kind but pretty shy and a wee bit insecure because most of them are inexperienced. Just as a personal note - we absolutely understand the enthusiasm and passion for Italian food - we simply came with a different idea in mind and had a bit of a hard time to get a glimpse of the Maldivian food experience. We were a little bit off in terms of timing to experience the amazing pizza oven and the little cafe in action. None of this is a dislike! Some might be tiny points of potential improvements or hints to take into consideration to enjoy to the fullest!

It’s a new building, really spacious and well chosen interior design. The owner Ismail is really helpful and took good care of us. He was reachable at any time if we had wishes or problems. The activities provided by him are well planned and organized and even having individual wishes is not a problem. It felt like you’re part of a big family, everyone was so nice. The area is really calm and quiet, even a cozy private beach is available for hanging out. The food is really good and even wishing dishes that are not on the menu wasn’t a problem at all. We got a room upgrade because the first days we stayed here we were the only guests. We liked it so much that we even rescheduled our flights to stay a few nights longer.
