Everything was amazing! It was the best place we stayed in during our travel. The room was modern and spotless, breakfast is delicious, they are so welcoming, it is a place where you feel comfortable and at home at the same time. Beach is a walking distance and let me tell you that Edava beach is one of the best beaches in Varkala, it is quiet, it has black sand mixed with normal sand and you can have a nice walk and arrive to Varkala cliff or you can go to Kappil beach near the lagoon. I definetely think this is the best position you can stay in Varkala.

Stayed here for a week and had such a great experience. It’s a simple, unpretentious place; not luxury. But the care and attention from the team really make it exceptional. From having the room cooled and ready on arrival to small, thoughtful touches throughout the stay (like wiping down my scooter after rainy days), always checking in before they stepped out — everything was done quietly and considerately without ever feeling intrusive. It’s walking distance to both the beach and the cliff, but nicely tucked away from the noisy tourist crowds, which made it a much more relaxed and comfortable base. Their recommendations were consistently spot on, and they were incredibly helpful in arranging things like scooter rental, station pick-up/drop, and even a stand-up paddle session. Big shout-out to Anandhu, Jayan chettan and Kavitha chechi - really appreciate the care you put into everything! Definitely coming back again.

Staff extremely helpful. Great shower and air con.. Very clean and nice food with safe filtered water. Short walk to decent quiet beach and restaurant/bar Bait and Hook. Lovely sea view and home cooked food at Sukritti ( order main meals day before) Ayurveda treatment and yoga 50 m was outstanding .

Construction nearby but not loud. Bed sheets low quality and one very small pillow. Booked as food review good but had to eat out as sadly not serving lunch or dinner Security man through night much appreciated.

De vriendelijkheid, de gastvrijheid en de schone ruime kamers. Het is rustig gelegen maar wel dichtbij bij het strand. Heerlijk ontbijt en je komt niets tekort. Hele lieve zorgzame gastvrouw en manager die je alle hulp bieden die je nodig hebt. Ik zou hier zo weer heen gaan en kan het iedereen van harte aanbevelen.

We liked everything about this property. The gorgeous new room with an amazing en suite bathroom was a highlight but the real winner here is the hospitality we received from all the staff over our stay! They were so helpful and kind and the breakfast was the best we had in India and changed every day. We couldn’t recommend this place more if you’re staying in and around Varkala. 10/10

Даже когда мы переехали в центр Варкалы, купаться приезжали на пляж Эдава. Спасибо Амардип и команде за гостеприимство и заботу. Хочется вернуться снова. Жалеем, что не рискнули взять уроки серфинга)

The location wasn’t the best, however it was quiet.

Perfect location if you don’t want to stay in the more crowded part of Varkala. Still close to a beach and a good and friendly restaurant with outdoor tables overlooking the waves. Very good standard and friendly staff.

Amazing kind attentive staff happy to help anytime of the day. You could not ask for a better service team. Room was huge, comfortable bed and bedding, lovely shower and delicious food. Thank you for homing me. 🤗

A truly wonderful stay! The room was spotlessly clean and the hosts were incredibly warm. The highlight was the delicious breakfast, prepared with so much love and a new variety every day. There is currently some construction across the street, but we aren't deducting any points because it’s only temporary. The hosts were so thoughtful and went above and beyond to make sure we weren't disturbed. Their heartfelt hospitality and amazing home-cooked food made this a perfect stay!

Todo es muy nuevo, muy lindo y cómodo. La habitación muy linda, con sábanas, toallas impecables, el colchón nuevo. El desayuno es excelente. El servicio es también excelente! Es muy muy recomendable. La zona es muy tranquila. Hay una playita cerca, y desde ahí, caminando por un camino de acantilado, que desemboca en otra playa, se puede llegar caminando ( una hora más o menos) a la zona más concurrida de Varkala beach. Nosotros disfrutamos mucho l estadía, aún a pesar de que justo enfrente hay un hotel construcción y había un poco de ruido de la obra por la mañana.

We loved our stay at Wavealokam beach retreat. The owner and her team are super friendly and accommodating. They went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The rooms were extremely clean and the breakfast was also delicious. The owner also offered us to checkout late since our taxi was scheduled to arrive early afternoon. Regarding the location as well, we were super happy. The edava beach is just a 5 min walk away and is non- touristy. We enjoyed a private beach most times of the day. The ride to the north cliff is also just 10 mins away and the resort usually helps arrange a cab/tuktuk. Overall we would wholeheartedly recommend this stay and look forward to coming back again in the future :)

The host is excellent and she personally looks after all your needs, the hospitality extended is better than any luxury hotel. Even adventure activities can be arranged by them, all in all Excellent!!

The host was absolutely amazing. He helped us in every possible way, especially with transportation, which was difficult to arrange in this area. His attitude truly improved our overall experience. The breakfasts were tasty, fresh and beautifully presented, and the property itself was pleasant and well-kept.

We didn’t expect transportation to Varkala Beach to be such a challenge. Without booking a ride in advance it was quite difficult to get there, the trip takes about 20 minutes and the fares are expensive. At the end of our stay we also had issues with payment, as card payment wasn’t available, which led to some complications with arranging an international transfer.

Super clean room, amazing breakfast, good wifi, really helpful and accomodative staff. Anandhu was super helpful - right from helping with my late night commute by auto, to helping me park my rental car everyday, to helping me book my mangrove stand-up-paddleboarding experience, Anandu was there throughout. Lekha from the kitchen was super accomodative - despite my late mornings I always had an amazing breakfast. I also loved the fact that we were given glass water bottles that we could get filled. Overall, I had an amazing stay. Would definitely recommend!

The only thing I wish I knew was that this is located in Edava, which is a 10-15 minute drive away from the Varkala North Cliff. Still quite manageable and I'd say even preferable to all the noise of the touristy parts of Varkala, but would have been good to know.

Rooms are spacious and clean, and they have everything that you need. Anandhu and his team are very, very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble. We enjoyed our few days with them, and we would use them again if in the area. Highly recommend.

We stayed at Wavealokam Beach Retreat in Edava, Varkala, for 6 days and 5 nights with our family and our golden retriever, and it turned out to be one of the most memorable trips we have had. From the moment we arrived, the warmth of the hosts, Ms. Amanpreet Kaur (co-founder along with actor Mr. Sudev Nair) and their team, made us feel completely at home. Aman is a wonderful host - kind, thoughtful, and empathetic. She even went out of her way to help us by taking care of our pet for an entire day while we visited the Padmanabhaswamy Temple and Jatayu Earth Centre, which don’t allow pets. That gesture alone speaks volumes about her hospitality. The retreat is not just welcoming, but also spotlessly maintained. From fresh linens to sparkling clean washrooms, everything reflected the team’s care and attention to detail. It’s a place where you instantly feel comfortable and relaxed. Every morning began with a healthy, home-style breakfast - fresh fruits, original juices, and wholesome cooking that felt both light and satisfying. The retreat is just a short walk from the beach, has convenient car parking, and gives you the perfect balance of comfort, nature, and homeliness. What made the stay truly special wasn’t just the location or the amenities - it was the people. Aman, Sudev, their adorable pets Nero and Ishtu, and the ever-smiling guest manager Anandhu ensured we didn’t just have a stay, but an experience filled with warmth, care, and memories to cherish. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful beach retreat in Varkala—with or without pets!

Wavelokam is a cozy budget stay for couples with very well designed and neatly maintained rooms. Location is just 200m walk away from Yedava beach and feels secluded yet safe. Owner is chill, very friendly and a humble person who's eveready to greet and help you. A special mention to our host Saafir, who was so so helpful through out stay, not just at wavelokam but our entire trip in Varakala, a special shoutout to him.

It was clean and comfortable and the breakfast served at 9am. The staff are lovely and they have two lovely dogs - Stu and Nero. The bed is comfortable and the AC and fan work well.

Its location to the restaurants and cafes is a little far. However they were helpful in arranging transport and hiring a scooter - although make sure to confirm the price and fuel expectation prior as it is an external company you’re hiring from.

We gave them the estimated time of arrival and was given a warm welcome by the staff looking after the property, and a cool room so it wasn’t muggy or too stuffy! They asked if we’d eaten and provided us with a delivery website so that we could fill our tummies before snoozing for the evening! The bed and bathroom were clean, with comfy bedding and running hot water for a shower after travelling a good distance from Kottayam. The staff were helpful in providing kitchen utensils and allowing us to borrow an adapter, since we’d forgotten to buy ourselves a universal plug! As well as helping with public transport queries for our long trip. The guard was friendly, offering his umbrella when we arrived one of the evenings in the pouring rain. The beach was not too far from the homestay, with surrounding resorts that provided good food and decent Ayurvedic treatments. It was the perfect start to our adventure around Kerala! ✨

Despite the location being little inside, everything was well and good. A silent place where we can chill and enjoy with our beloved ones. Will surely visit again 👌🏽

The rooms are very pretty - best room and bathroom we had in India. The hosts and staff are really nice. They help you with everything you need. There is a good breakfast with fruit salad, juice, curry & omlette available. The location is also quite nice. From the homestay it just takes a two minute walk to Edava Beach (not crowded and clean). It is possible to rent Scooters if you want to go to Varkala - round about 10min ride (we rented one for the whole week and needed it everyday to go out for dinner and coffee or to go to Varkala).

That we didn't stay longer!

It's a small and new property. Rooms were of comfortable size, with neat and clean bed and bathroom. There was no view from the hotel, but a clean, crowdless beach is just a couple of minutes of walk away. I also booked a surfing lesson. Kartik (surfing trainer) was very patient in teaching and it was an amazing experience. The breakfast served was healthy, clean and tasty. Facility manager was really helpful and prompt is responses. It was an amazing experience staying here.

Very very nice place! Quiet , clean and confortable . The ménagers are very helpful and the surfing courses organised really good. There’s a little quiet beach just 5 min walking from the hotel.
