I recently stayed at Madhav Mansion Beach Resort for two days, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was quite spacious, offering plenty of comfort, and the washroom was impeccably clean, which made the stay even more pleasant. One of the biggest advantages of this property is its excellent location—it’s just a 2-minute walk from Varkala Cliff and the beach much to my liking, making it extremely convenient for exploring the area. The overall atmosphere of the resort was calm and peaceful, with quiet surroundings that allowed for a truly relaxing stay. Additionally, breakfast was provided, which was a nice and convenient touch. The breakfast was not lavish but basic and local Kerela cuisine was provided, which I liked. Overall, I had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay and would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Varkala.

We had a great stay at Madhav Mansion Beach Resort, the Odayam cliff was very near and the city area was also accessible. The caretaker Vijayan was extremely helpful with any and all needs we had. Would recommend this place to anyone who comes to visit Varkala.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Madhav Mansion beach resort. Sajeev and Vijay really treated me like an honoured guest and were very accommodating and friendly from the beginning to the very end of my stay, I am very thankful to them 🙏The location is very nice and calm a bit far from the more touristic side of Varkala. There is a temple nearby and the beach is at a walking distance. You can also find some restaurants nearby. The breakfast provided was very nice homemade traditional South Indian breakfast. The hotel is also equipped with a washing machine which is very helpful for travellers going to multiple places. Overall I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel ⭐️

We had a wonderful stay! The owner is extremely friendly, supportive, and went above and beyond to make our trip smooth and memorable. From the moment we arrived, he was always available to guide us—whether it was about where to eat, places to visit, or how to get around. He even helped us get discounts for a mangrove forest visit and arranged a vehicle for local travel. If you're ever in doubt or need help with anything during your stay, just contact him directly—he's genuinely there to assist. The wellcoming from Sajeev and Vijayan was fantastic. We had access to all of the amenities in the house and they provided us with great advice to really enjoy our stay in Varkala. Sharing breakfast with them was great time to talk and learn a bit more about the place and ways to reach our next destination. The level of service was outstanding and they really cared for us during our stay in Madhav Mansion. We would highly recommend it! Sajeev (the owner) was very friendly and welcoming, ready to provide any information. A good beach was just 7 min walk.

Very outdated rooms and dirty common places. Yes, you get what you pay for, but I think for this price you can find slightly cleaner and less tired rooms in a more central location. You also have to ask for any type of service, from restocking toilet paper to changing towels and bedsheets: don't expect them to be proactive and treat you as a normal hotel does but rather think of a family b&b or airbnb type of service. The breakfast was very basic, which was ok though for 2/3 of our group (we treated it as a bonus and an experience of having simple Indian meal).

The room was good, and the position is perfect. You can see the ocean and heard the waves. The staff is carefull and their indian breakfast is very traditional and made with love.

Owner Sajeev and caretaker Vijayan looked after us really well during our stay. The location is fantastic - it's outside Varkala which is great if you are looking for somewhere away from the tourist crowds but bear the beach. There was a quiet beach nearby which we had almost to ourselves at times. Swimming in the sea as the sun went down was one of the highlights of our trip to India. The room was a good size with air con and a fan. Breakfast was served outside on the terrace. There is also a washing machine for guests which was really helpful for us as we are backpacking. We were lucky enough to have visited during a Hindu festival and saw plenty of free entertainment at the temple next door. Varkala is only a short tuktuk ride away and has all sorts of different restaurants and shops. Thanks for a memorable stay!

There is nothing which I can’t like.. Everything was perfect!

Good value for money as the stay was very close to the beach. Sajeev, who is the owner of the property is a very helpful and polite person. He helped us with all the queries and also helped us get scooters and taxis. Breakfast provided was also really nice and they provided multiple options for breakfast. The beach is just 5 mins walk from the property and it also offers amazing cliff views as well. Very quiet and peaceful stay.

For the price, the property is very good value, just do not expect luxury. The room, bedding, linen etc was clean. Hot water readily available (though it took us some time to work out the right switch), AC mostly working, comfy bed. Lock box, kettle and tea in the room, fridge and kitchen available for guests, even a washing machine with detergent provided. Sajeev and Vijay keen to help (just be very specific in what you want, I was happy with boiled eggs and toast for breakfast!) they will book tuk-tuks and taxis for you. Cliff top just 2 minute walk away, Beach and restaurants about 10 minute stroll, superb beach about 20/30 minute walk North, take a torch/mobile light for evenings.

On arrival, we thought what a dump (it didn't help something had turned over a dustbin - quickly cleaned up though), the place did grow on us - we stopped a week. The outside badly needs weeding and tidying up and possibly some painting (as do the balcony areas). Breakfast could be a bit reminiscent of Fawlty Towers, but Sajeev keen to get what you want, would be nice with a bit more facilities/hygiene. The electric system seems to have a mind of its own, but only brief periods when things did not seem to work. Our room door lock very fiddly, but always got in (eventually). Either pre-arrange a definite time of arrival or contact owner when arriving to get access to your room, if dependant on hotel Wi-Fi, maybe get the password before arriving?

We had a really nice time here! the room was comfy and the AC worked great. The area is beautiful, a bit far from the main town but a 30 min walk (with beautiful views) and 10 min tuk tuk ride away so not bad. The host, Sajeev and housekeeper, Vijay, were wonderful! They were both so helpful and accommodating, they really made us feel welcome. They also serve a delicious Indian breakfast every morning, which we really enjoyed!

We love the hospitality at this place. The breakfast food is delicious, and the owner takes great care of the guests. My kids especially enjoy the terrace area. Well clean rooms and whole property is so beautiful. The location is very close to the beach access, so we had lots of fun. The parking facilities are also good. It feels like home. What's there.not to like. 1. The property is right next to a serene pristine beach. Apart from a few Russians and Europeans there is hardly any human around. Extremely well maintained property with all amenities.. gas stove, washing machine large fridge and a spacious compound where one can have a bonfire or just relax watching trees and birds. There are many nice little wooden seats in the compound/garden area too. 2. There is a hidden beach just 2 kms away from the property with a fully stalked and well maintained beach shack fitted with a fresh water shower. Crystal clear ocean and super clean beach surrounding it... is just awesome. 3. Now coming to the property owner. Mr Sajeev. Such a nice and helpful gentleman and a delight to meet everyday. He ensures to check upon his guests every morning with freshly home cooked delicious breakfast and he gives company too. His assistant and the housekeeper Mr Vijay is a wonderful person too and is always just a call away if one needs anything. He can surprise you too with his lively conversations just like Mr Sajeev. We had the best stay in all of southern India so far.. awesome location, extremely well maintained villa, delicious home cooked breakfast and the company of these two wonderful gentlemen made it all memorable.

Madhav Mansion is at a serene location,beside Odayam and Edava beach,ideal for a relaxed early morning stroll.Sajeev is an exceptional host.He was generous enough to pick me up from the train station and drop me by the north cliff in his own car.He went out of his way to make my stay comfortable, making up for any inconvenience that might have otherwise occurred while commuting.The terrace area is thatched and airy with an ocean view,good for those working from home away from home.

The location is nice, in a peaceful area near a sea cliff. The rooms are also good. The staffs are polite.

The sitting area outside our room is dirty as half of it is used as a store room for some old appliances. Although this space is not mentioned in the booking & is like a bonus for us, but the dirty environment makes the space unpleasant. Except this everything else was good.

The resort was very well maintained and clean with decent facilities. They have 2 rooms with a small living room and kitchen on the ground floor and 1 room on the first floor. There is a beautiful sit out on the first floor with a view of the ocean where you can sit and relax. The homemade breakfast served was really delicious. A secluded beautiful cliff with panoramic view is just 2 mins walk from the property. If you walk 10 mins along the cliff you reach a beach where there are few shacks. We had requested a scooter and the owner happily arranged for 2 scooters. All the main tourist attraction places are a 10 mins drive from this place. Overall an amazing stay and we would definitely recommend this to others.

Beyond amazing in every way - I have travelled the world and stayed at many many places - never have I experienced soooo much help - kindness - generosity - I had an emergency dental issue and the owner not only arranged an appointment on my day of arrival but personally drove me the three times I had to go. Plus to ATM and to a festival on my first night. The breakfast each morning is so generous and different each day morning and served on the upstairs deck with sea views and a lovely breeze. Even a small thing when a button came off and I asked for a sewing kit he took to his wife to do for me. I also used his recommendation for a driver from the airport as o arrived late at night and would again recommend this service / it might cost a little bit more but worth it. I used the same driver to take me to Munroe Island. The room was spacious - comfortable and modern quiet a/c and a fan, plus a kettle. The bathroom had all that was needed with hot water. There is also a kitchen downstairs with large fridge and microwave. The beach is a five minute walk away. I will never forget the hospitality and kindness making my first trip ever to India incredible. Thank you 🙏

The location was absolutely amazing. It's just 15 minutes away from the busy Varkala beach and only a couple minutes walk to a comparatively reclusive but truly beautiful Odayam beach. So, you get both accessibility and the tranquility. The stay was clean and the Mr. Sajeev was very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. He was very helpful with anything we needed. My only regret is that I could not stay longer.

Madhav is a really lovely place to stay, very close to the beach and the team are the most lovely people. Always going the extra mile to be helpful, they even showed us to a festival in a near by temple which was amazing and organised breakfast around our schedules. The property has a great balcony and is in the quieter end of varkala which has some lovely beaches and cafes in walking distance.

The caretaker, Sajeev, is all you need if you are travelling for the first time. He will have you covered from tell you the best spots across the city, he will arrange scooty, taxi etc for you. He arranged delicious breakfast at a time that suited us. He is very helpful. The property is sea facing. It is a mansion with 3 main bedrooms. 2 on the ground floor with common drawing room and 1 upstairs with adjoining balcony cum terrace which has provision for chilling/ eating etc. The property is clean and fairly spacious. I would rate it 11/10 because of Sajeev.

The location is slightly far from Black beach cliff. Takes 10 mins to Black beach when many properties are right beside the cliff.

Fabulous location if you are looking for quiet and relaxation. Lovely walks along the cliff top path in either direction. The bustling Varkala beach with lots of shops and restaurants or the solitude of Kappill beach are within easy walking distance. Nice big room with excellent facilities and good home cooked breakfast.

The resort is good but not exactly a beach view resort, clif is in 200 mts from resort. It could be very nice if there is proper maintenance. The terrace was not clean. Morning breakfast is homemade food and coffe and all u need u inform the day before.

The hotel is near Odayam Beach. Right in between Kappil beach and Varkala Beach. Its away from the noise and music of the cliff, but close enough that you won't mind the trip. Its a very short walk to a beautiful cliff nearby. Need an auto (10 min ride) to goto Varkala Beach and cliff. You can get an auto guy's number from the host. He was very helpful.

The location of the resort and the facilities were good. A few steps walk outside will take you to a cliff and the view was amazing. The owner was very friendly and helpful in making arrangements such as autos and rental bikes.

The Mansion is few meters from the beautiful cliff near Manthara Temple . Varkala beach & cliff is just 10 minutes drive. Peaceful to spend time with Family . Host gives his best to meet all the tourist needs. He did in fact arranged a scooter for us to visit Jatayu statue (500 per day). Since I had chosen breakfast- it was served from his home from the vicinity. Overall it was a peaceful & joyful vacation with my wife and kid. At last Sanjeev the host arranged auto also for us to reach railway station .

Located a bit off the Varkala town but at a very mesmerizing cliff, this stay provides everything you need for a trip to Varkala. Scooters were provided by the owner, if you inform him well in advance. Breakfast is provided for the booked mornings. The caretaker was very kind and down to earth, and if needed anything there was no second thought, we would get that. Owner would visit every morning with breakfast and suggest you the places around Varkala.

Nice and Caring stay Owner Mr.Sanjiv is a good person, took good care of us and arranged a transport even at 3am. Spacious room which is kind of a home stay. Well maintained rooms Near(hardly 10m drive) to almost all visiting locations.
