Reviewed Jul 24, 2025The superb location on the water's edge of the marina, with outside facilities to sit and enjoy the goings on of the boaters. And the broader location in terms of a small shopping precinct being nearby, though your every whim is catered for in terms of a "continental" breakfast. The high end facilities in every way possible from the kitchenette to the bathroom. The provision of board games and puzzles in the event of bad weather. The provision of sporting facilities, such as kayaks is one giant step beyond. Although I did not avail myself of many of these things - they were there!
There is absolutely nothing not to like, if you excuse my double negative.

Definitely a couples retreat spacious bathroom heated floors Bath Robes Highly recommend to all.

Reviewed Dec 17, 2024This place is honestly THE BEST place i have stayed in years!!! - even better than crazy expensive hotels!!!! The hostess is so friendly, parking is convenient, the room is EXCEPTIONAL! - absolutely gorgeous veiws, comfy beds, everything you could need including robes and slippers! the breakfast and snacks provided free of charge was just AMAZING! If you come across this place in your search for a room in northland you need to snap it up! The price we paid for such an outstanding stay almost felt like we were committing robbery!!! I will definitely be back :)

Reviewed Dec 7, 2024A welcome feeling from the outset. Obviously this venture gives the Host great joy to provide every little thing to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. We both loved the extreme comfort of the bed, bedding with a lovely relaxing view. All facilities were of an exceptionally high and generous standard including a stocked fridge and pantry. A truly memorable stay we only wish we had booked more nights. Thank you Shirley & Zane.

Reviewed Nov 13, 2024I travel up this way for work each month. I have been staying in other places close to this location, but this is the best I have found. After a long day of driving and working, this place is PERFECT. I plan to return with my wife and make a weekend of it. The location is fantastic, with beaches and relaxation. Waking up to the view of yachts in the marina from your bed is not something you get to do every day. The extra bonus is that the snacks and breakfast are brilliantly presented.

Reviewed Oct 6, 2024There is nothing to dislike here. Take 2-3 nights we only went for 1. It's amazing , the place is right at the water of the marina. Have a glass of wine outside sit relax and enjoy the sunset. In the morning the views are calling for breakfast outside. Snacks fruits and breakfast are provided. It's better than the pictures. The room has a huge huge bathroom and a shower for 4 ppl . The kitchen gets you everything you need for the stay. It's at a high end luxury boutique hotel standard.

The apartment was available sooner than we had anticipated, but we sat in the car around the corner until check in time came. The host had sent us a message, which we did not receive until we checked in. A PHONE CALL would have alerted us to the earlier entrance time. I guess it's my own fault for ignoring messages when on holiday :-)

The place was not only spotless and well-organized, but also filled with thoughtful details that made our stay extra special, including everything we needed for a lovely breakfast and snacks. Shirley and Zane were incredibly friendly hosts, and the views of the marina were absolutely stunning. It was a quiet and relaxing stay, and we were happy to discover that the apartment was even better than what we saw in the pictures. We also had the pleasure of meeting their sweet doggies, Missy and Max, who added an extra touch of warmth to our visit. We highly recommend this place and would love to visit again!

Resturants and supermarket only a 4 minute drive a little to far to walk if weather wet but we preferred to stay at the accommodation and enjoy it and the boat views. Saw owners at the end and they are super lovely.

Reviewed Mar 27, 2024Superb in every way. Location, cleanliness and facilities all unbeatable. You are right on a marina so perfect if you like boat action. Shirley is a very generous host - the sort who gives you real fresh milk and a loaf of bread. The breakfast supplies were more than adequate and by far superior to anything else we have experienced in this type of accommodation. We stayed two nights and absolutely loved our stay and enjoyed exploring the area.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2024I loved everything, it was the perfect place to rest and relax! A rating of 10 out of 10 would be an understatement. I will try to be a bit more specific though I know I will miss many of the things that I enjoyed: the location next to marina, the quality of the apartment, the decorations, the complementary goodies in the kitchen, the terrace, and Shirley’s kindness and hospitality. And the lovely puppies! One last aspect - the location is very good for visiting the coast : Tutukaka, Paihia, Russell and so on.
Fantastic place, I wish I could have stayed a few more days!

Breakfast was included with an assortment of cereals, fruits, yoghurt, bread, spreads. The location was right on the water way of Marsden Cove marina, complete with private jetty. We enjoyed using the kayaks provided. We couldn't have wished for a more perfect weekend getaway.

You can just sit on your bed and watch the world, or boats, go by. Very easy access via locking system (no key - just a code). There were very good choices for breakfast provided, a little espresso machine and nice chocolates :). Thanks Shirley and Zane.

Views are fantastic,breakfast was plentiful and a great choice,king size bed was super comfortable, the decor was modern and very clean, The hosts are friendly and very helpful. The unit is very private and you feel quite separate from the owners unit. I cannot find fault with anything at all. We will definitely be back for another mini break in the future.

Facilities are super clean and comfortable, every detail has been considered from slippers to balcony blankets, a range of premium bathroom amenities and a full breakfast/all day food cupboard. Owners have made sure there’s nothing you need to remember or think of , amazing selection for breakfast , pillow selection , hair straighteners , make up wipes , robes etc. Would definitely recommend staying here , also great facilities if you have a boat.
There was nothing we didn’t like. The only thing we would suggest is that it is more of a guest suite /wing than an apartment as it’s attached to the main house and you can occasionally hear the owners tv and dogs, not enough for it to be a negative just a reminder you are not in a seperate apartment.
