Pengo Homestay Georgetown

The apartment is spacious, clean and comfortable. All air-conditioning worked well and having a washing machine was very convenient for us. Equipment and facilities were sufficient for our needs. Reported a broken toilet seat and it was replaced within hours. Communication always quick and courteous. The building facade is old but the apartment is well renovated. It is within 1km of Gurney Plaza and Gurney food centre, and is next door to a very good roast meat restaurant and coffee shop. Also a short walk to a good Assam Laksa shop. Easy to get Grab and there is a bus stop near by. We enjoyed our stay here.

Unfortunately one elevator was out of order the length of our stay, sometimes a lengthy wait.

Great stay! The location is very strategic, and the house was extremely clean and well-maintained. Comfortable and pleasant overall.

The building is rundown, and the only working lift feels unsafe and unreliable. It can barely carry 2–3 people, and we got stuck in it once. Access to the 7th floor was stressful and unacceptable.

The lifts and public area

The apartment is nice and clean, stocked with soap, tissues, and essentials. AC works well. View is quite nice. Plenty of space for everyone. Host is responsive and was able to give us early check in since the unit was vacant from the previous day.

Lift is very old, and the building doesn't look as nice from the outside. Beware of the red table on the room as you can mistake it as a chair, but is easily broken if you sit on it.

Nice and clean

We liked the apartment unit, the beds were firm and everything was thought of by the owner to make sure our stay was easy. It is in walking distance to the hospital, good food around. And you can see two views from the apartment, because the unit is at a corner which is fun, we get to see a nice view while doing the dishes! The host is also very responsive and extremely helpful.

The building and the lift to get into the apartment are dilapidated. But once you’re in the apartment, it’s fine.

Nothing all good as described

Don’t be fooled by the outside – the interior is stunning and cozy! I had an amazing stay at this property! The place was spotless, exactly like the photos, and in a perfect location – close to restaurants and tourist spots. The host was super friendly and responsive, making check-in and check-out smooth. Highly recommend to anyone visiting the area. Would definitely come back again!

Just a small note: parking area didn’t feel very secure at times because theres no security. But thankfully, nothing happened and we still had a great experience. Would still recommend and consider coming back!

Location

Only one lift working and also lift is jerky. The 7th floor surrounding areas need a clean up. The shower water pressure is low. The interior condo is nice and clean

Cleanliness, quiet, amazing sunrise views from the window, complete facilities, everything is perfect.

I didn't like the elevator. It worked well but it looked old and the stop was rough. But it worked just fine.

This large, 3-bedroom Apartment is located on the 7th floor of the building. Inside, it is perfectly fine - you have a very comfortable home, all appliances which you could need, nice bathrooms, excellent toiletries and a filter for drinking water. The complete building, however, is rather dilapidated with a rickety lift - the floor indication lights often don't work and the day we were leaving the lift broke down, thereby stranding us and our bags on the 7th floor! The Apartment says "sea view", but you can only get a glimpse of the sea which would be about a mile away from your window. Also, we could not find any mini-market somewhere close by.

The property has all the things we need. Washing machine, kitchen utensils, spacious 3 bedrooms, bodywash is also smell really good, and even icecubes. Though the outside look of the property seems old, but the inside is fine.

Not that I don't like but the ceiling fan in the living room is not adjustable and so the air conditioner. The last day we were there, the tv is showing sign to be broken soon. But overall is not bad

Beneath the old and faded facade, lies a gem in the city centre. This unit is valued for its location, comfort and coziness.

The unit is very spacious and well-maintained. It is conveniently located near other attractions and shopping malls. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I would happily book this unit again in the future. I am very pleased with my stay.

It would be greatly appreciated if the apartment management could prioritize the repair of the elevators, as they are an essential amenity for all residents, especially for senior citizens like my parents.

One of the best units I have stayed in. The host have thought and provided much of everything to make our stay and enjoyable one. The location is central to everything we needed to go to. Easy access to all the roads.

Nothing pertaining to the unit. The facade, common areas and lift is beyond the host control. Exterior may not look nice but the unit is outstanding. My wife gives 5 out of 5.

Actually the exterior building is quite not so well maintained but the unit itself is very cosy and spacious

Very happy to have found this place. Well furnished and equipped. Washing machine with detergent provided. Good for long stay. Very thoughtful of the host The place is clean and comfortable, with a convenient carpark. Highly recommended.

I liked everything about the property. From outside it may look like a low cost apartment, but the house was very nice and clean. We enjoyed our stay.

The apartment is great, facilities are great. Even though there was a small problem with an appliance, the problem was solved within a few hours. The host is very responsive, all our questions are answered within the hour. Would certainly recommend this homestay, and will certainly come back.

The unit of 3 bedrooms with 2 bathroom, have spacious sitting room cum dining area and very clean. Excellent sea view from the sitting room and fairly windy when windows are opened. Amenities in the unit were complete with microwave, fridge, washing machine , hair dryer, electric kettle etc....Kitchen well furnished with crockery and utensils . Didnt get to use as we ate out for all our meals. Location was good . Easy access to many parts in Georgetown. Definitely value for money. The building of 60plus units of apartments , a bit aged but common areas were kept clean , and have ample parking . Wifi was available and connect easily. Only downside were the lifts , which appear to be old , and lights on the lift buttons were not all functioning. Only 1 lift unit was working. The 2nd lift was under repair. Would book this unit for next trip to Penang.

The lifts could undergo some refurnishment and the 2 lifts should be kept in working order. The building could do with a new coat of painting.

Spacious 3 bedrooms apartment with good in house facilities. Easy check in and friendly host. The apartment is well kept and clean. Near to Gurney Drive, Tanjung Bunga, town and other attractions. Parking lot being reserved. The host provide us with a selection of coffee and tea with variety of buns as complimentary. Definitely we will book again. 😍
