No private area outside. Children playing in the garden. Family dog very friendly but not good if you don't like dogs. It just had free access and would go in the cabin when you door open.

Reviewed Jul 8, 2026Immersa nella tranquillità e nel verde, questa piccola accogliente casa sorprende per comodità e per la sensazione di essere in un posto unico: ci abbiamo passato solo una notte e l'abbiamo lasciato a malincuore, ma lo ricorderemo bene! Piaciuto ovviamente ai nostri figli di 11 anni per lo spazio esterno, i giochi e la libertà che trasmette. Anthony guest eccezionale sempre pronto a risponderti, con la gentilezza e l' ospitalità che abbiamo trovato solo qui nella meravigliosa Irlanda. Grazie!

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026Private, secluded. Daughters and I took a beautiful walk down a country one in the evening and looked at the horses, sheep and cows. Cottage is spotless and well accommodated if you want to cook.
Loved everything but small point- it’s a bit of a distance from restaurants so if you don’t have a car, bring your food in.

Reviewed Jan 15, 2026Cottage was small and cosy and perfect base for a weekend. Bedrooms were comfortable and house was nice and warm. Kitchen was great - we were able to cook dinner no hassles. Very comfortable and welcoming place.
Only suggestion would be the checkin at 5pm - in winter it is dark by 4:30pm, lots of small windy roads in Ireland, in the dark finding the location the first time was a bit nerve wracking. Even an hour earlier would have been preferable. Having said that once we found it, cottage was perfect.

Reviewed Nov 6, 2025It's in the country with only a couple other houses on the estate. Cute little cabin at the rear of the main estate house. Quiet and dark so great for watching the stars at night. Two comfortable rooms. Well equipped for a longer stay. Would be great for a family and there is a big lawn for playing a bit of bocce, football, or play. It's a lovely peace and quiet place
It was a bit far out of Athlone for us. It's a single lane country road and not well lit at night for comings and goings. Otherwise the drive is fine in daylight and easy to find

The hosts were so accommodating and were available for anything we needed and made the stay so smooth. Would definitely stay again.

Reviewed Jul 11, 2025Stayed for one night with a friend & two children aged 7 & 9. Anthony, the owner, couldn’t have been more helpful & communicative from the moment I booked until after we left. The cabin is fantastic & even nicer than the photos. It had absolutely everything we could have needed for our stay. The setting is beautiful & so peaceful. We were delighted to be visited by a friendly cat & dog during our stay. What really sets the cabin apart from other places I have stayed is how incredibly child friendly it is. The kids had an absolute ball & did not want to leave. There is so much to keep them happy with the trampolines, goals & playhouse with toys. We felt so welcome & it was lovely to let the kids play freely rather than feeling like we had to keep them quiet. This made the whole experience so relaxing for everyone. We honestly didn’t want to leave!

Reviewed Jun 3, 2025Amazing host with everything you might need: from the kettle to comfortable bed, from the coffee machine to the football goal, from the telly to treehouse. Absolutely great experience for the kids, it was hard to call them in at the evening as they had great time outside. You can park directly at the house and the place is extremely quiet. I wish we could y longer. Great to have storage in both rooms.
I can't mention anything.

Reviewed Apr 16, 2025Perfect location in a rural farming area a few kilometres west of Athlone. The holiday chalet was in a beautiful spot, and the local wildlife (a friendly cat and a friendly neighbours dog kept us entertained). I didn't physically meet the owners, but via text message they were friendly, prompt and attentive to the needs of our stay. The chalet was very cosy and homely. The beds were nice, but to the nature of our own sleeping needs I had to sleep on a camp bed which wasn't the most comfy for an adult, but this is no reflection on the owners. The kids loved the outdoor trampoline and the play area in the garden. We would definitely stay here again!
Nothing really. A sticker indicating the shower on/off switch outside the bathroom door would have been handy, and I couldn't get the Dolce Gusto coffee machine to work, but again that's probably me...ha, ha, ha

Reviewed Nov 26, 2024The Cabin is a beautifully kept and decorated stand alone unit outside Athlone. Check in was super easy, the key was left in the door and the heating was on. The cabin has WiFi and a TV along with kitchen facilities.
Everything was great but a small sign to direct to the property would be great and maybe some extra saucers 😁
