Picturesque Hanoi Homestay

I liked absolutely everything but I'll give detail like my other reviews on this trip. The location is an easy walk to the night market and about two minutes from the Traditional Arts and Ethnology Centre but set back enough from main roads that it is completely quiet. The rooms and building are exactly like the photos and are in excellent shape and perfectly clean. We had a family room with three beds and there was a nice table and four comfortable chairs. Our friends had a room with a patio. The shower was separated from the rest of the bathroom by a wall so there was no floor flooding. The showerhead was removable. Lots of cupboard and table space (maybe some extra towel hooks on the back of the bathroom door would help but nothing else was needed). Most of the outdoor patio/lobby/breakfast area was covered and nicely decorated. There was a supply of drinkable water at cold, hot or normal available in the lobby to cut down on plastic bottle use as well as an extra WC. The two people who couldn't eat gluten still had eggs, fruit and commercial fruit juice or milk, along with tea or coffee any time. There were umbrellas for guest use and a staff member ran after me to give me one because it was starting to rain as I left.The host spoke English very well and was charming. He arranged taxis for pickup from the airport and drop-off at the train station at a reasonable cost. Laundry reasonably priced and done the next day. This location looks great, is perfectly designed and spacious.

it's more a cafeteria and souvenir shop than a hotel, one of the ladies was really nice and the host was okay, but none of them spoke English. Beds were good but only had one sheet to cover yourself so with the air conditioner all night, felt like we needed more that a sheet.

The apartments was clean and comfortable . We found the location was perfect for exploring Hanoi, very near beer, food and hoan kiem lake. 1st floor has a cute souvenir shop for quick buy. They even offer free taste coffee.

My family with 2 childrens I had a wonderful experience here. The hostess was very friendly and always helpful. They offer free laundry services and complimentary drinking water in the room—truly excellent service. The hotel is centrally located, so you can easily reach everything. I can highly recommend this to anyone traveling in a group.

Great clean little homestay. Many little shops and restaurants within walking distance. Great location. Busy street, loved the small balcony from my room, overlooking the street. Cafe on 7th floor had views of inner city

Everything was good. Walking on the street was difficult. Footpath uneven and crazy traffic.

The hotel was in a great location within walking distance from many places in Old Town Hanoi. It is easy to catch bus to other parts of Hanoi too. The room was spacious and had all amenities needed and the balcony was nice to sit and look outside. The hotel host and housekeeper were very helpful and kind.

Location – 5/5: If you want the real heartbeat of Hanoi, you have to stay in the Old Quarter! And honestly, nothing beats this spot. It’s tucked into a small lane just off the dazzling chaos of Hanoi’s Old Quarter, which means you’re close to everything without being swallowed by the madness. Absolute winner for location. Hospitality – 5/5: Top notch! We stayed here for two nights before heading off to explore Sapa and the north of Vietnam. A week later, when we came back to Hanoi, we sheepishly asked the owner (Thuy) if she could hold our luggage for a few hours before our late flight (even though we had checked out a week ago). She didn’t even blink. Just smiled and said yes. Super humble, super kind… very Vietnamese hospitality ! Room & Bathroom – 3.5/5: Simple and functional. Not luxury, not Instagram-worthy, but perfectly fine for what you need when you’re spending most of your time exploring the streets of Hanoi anyway. Will I stay again? A hundred percent yes. Great location, lovely people, and clearly a place that won’t abandon you and your luggage, even if you return a week later 😄

Free laundry service is provided, and the triple room has a fully equipped kitchen on the balcony. The bars across the street are too noisy at night, but you can close the iron gate to the balcony yourself; the soundproofing is excellent. When I needed help, the hotel called in Vietnamese and then translated into English for me, which was a huge help!

Location was excellent. The host was waiting for our arrival, it was quite late and ensure we settled in nicely. She's also easy to communicate with and able to give recommendations and help to organize anything if required. The laundry is amazing, free and quick. We are able to have a late check out with discounted rate so we can rest and clean ourself before boarding the sleeper train to Sapa.

It was described as an entire apartment which I imagine would be 1 entrance door. But it's actually an entire floor which consists of 2 bedrooms separately. It was on 2nd floor, and I don't feel safe to let my 10yo to sleep in separate bedroom that has a separate entrance door. this is more suitable to a family with teenagers or young adult.

Great location, warm and helpful staff, two bedrooms were perfect for our adult family of four, spacious balcony, reasonably priced. They helped with airport transportation, gave recommendations for restaurants and important places to know, and let us keep our luggage there past check out. They made good coffee too!

Cozy Stay with Local Coffee Delights I stayed at Picturesque Hanoi Homestay in December. The location was excellent—quiet yet close to many shops and cafés, which made exploring easy and enjoyable. While the homestay doesn’t provide breakfast, I loved discovering nearby options. The egg coffee and coconut coffee I tried were absolutely delicious and added to the authentic Hanoi experience. The homestay itself was clean and welcoming, with a warm atmosphere that felt homely. Payment was straightforward in Vietnamese Dong, which was convenient with nearby ATMs and exchange shops. What stood out most was the kindness of the host—despite our late arrival, they patiently waited and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made us feel truly cared for.

I did face some challenges with the heater and water pressure, which could be improved for greater comfort. Still, overall, it’s a charming place to stay if you want to be near local food and coffee spots, with friendly surroundings and a cozy vibe

Que le personnel ne passe pas tous les jours dans les chambres pour un petit coup de propre mais ce ne doit pas être dans leur habitude de rentrer dans les chambres occupées. Juste un petit détail.

Bonne localisation et appartement très grand. Service de nettoyage de vêtements inclus et réception ouverte 24/24 ce qui permet de laisser les sacs sur place pendant la journée

Logement très bruyant (normal probablement pour Hanoi mais bruits supplémentaires dans la cage d’escalier). Le prix est fort élevé par rapport aux autres logements que nous avons loué pendant le reste du voyage

Nice homestay in the Old quarter - the hosts were very kind and the rooms were comfy. Triple room was better as it had a balcony which was quite nice (as per pictures). Great shower pressure! Overall very good value and we were satisfied.

The host Jun is very helpful and responsive to accommodate us. She helped to provide wheelchair for our senior guest.

良くない事ではないけど分かりにくかったので、書き残します。例えば2階には2室あって、1部屋にはテラス、ミニキッチン、冷蔵庫、トイレ、シャワー、シングルベッド2台があり、もう１部屋には冷蔵庫、トイレ、シャワー、ダブルベッドがあります。それぞれに部屋に別にカードキーが必要です。

Der Waschservice war super! Die Lage ist genial. Bei der Ankunft erhält man sehr gute Tipps passend zu der Umgebung. Die Gastgeber sind freundlich und bemüht, dass man sich hier zurechtfinden kann.

The location is fantastic. Right in the old quarter and easy walk to Hoan Kiem lake. Our host, Jun, was extremely responsive and helpful. The shower was great water pressure and plenty of hot water. We had everything we needed.

The room was very nice and spacious with a nice balcony located at the old part of town. The people working there were also very friendly. Our flight back to Amsterdam was late at night, but luckily we were allowed to check out late. That was lovely and relaxing!

A spacious stay for a family in a great location. The balcony was a bonus.

The location is perfect, not to close, not to far the center of the old town. The rooms are not in the same apartment but at the same floor. The club in front is noisy up to 1am.

The property is at a great location in Old Quarter Hanoi and walkable from all spots. It is managed very well by the host. Jun received us with immense hospitality, provided us with all the information needed, and even helped us book a tour. She was extremely kind to offer us a late checkout as well. Rooms are fully equiped with everything you may need for a happy stay.

The beds were so comfy, location was perfect , free washing was amazing to have , shower was incredible the best we’ve had in se Asia so far!!!!

Location is great. Room is great , very neat and clean with balcony and wifi. You can cook simple foods at the balcony complete with kitchen utensils. And the host, her name is Jun, was very accommodating , nice, friendly and can speak English. Her mom cant speak english, but she was nice. Jun offered and helped us to get a sleeper bus to Sapa which is very convenient for us. She planned our transportation to Sapa and have private SUV. She's updating Normie my colleague via Whatsapp. Hassle free transportation indeed. She did a great job. 💯 great rooms and service, everything was great!

This is an amazing apartment in a great area of the Old Quarter. The staff were fantastic, Jun gave us some great recommendations for food and Egg coffee and the ladies that run the reception and clean to rooms are an absolute delight. They don't speak any English, but they use their phones to translate to help you in any way they can. The rooms are beautiful and the balcony is a great place for morning coffee. It's amazing value for money for the space and the location...you really do get a lot for your money in Vietnam. Highly recommended and will be back again later in 2025

The owner was very friendly and accommodating. She helped us with a late check-in and helped us book a 16-person car to take us to the airport. The room was clean and they even had free laundry! I'd highly recommend Picturesque Hanoi.

One of our rooms had no windows, which was a little depressing, but the other one had great lighting and even a balcony! It makes a world of difference.
