Reviewed Aug 10, 2026Beautiful, peaceful setting. The gravel road is somewhat uncomfortable, especially because we had heavy rains on the day we left. Overall, staff were friendly. Assistance received promptly when requested. The game drive was awesome
No broom or mop so that we could clean up after ourselves. No microwave to heat up food.

Reviewed Jul 24, 2026We enjoyed the variety of animals and the 4x4 trails lead to some spectacular views as well as picnic areas. The cottage we stayed in was comfortable, warm and cozy, house keeping is definitely doing they bit to maintain cleanliness, Wilmore, Jane and the team keep up the good work.
An addition of a hot tub would be great at the cottage we stayed in. More privacy and seclusion is also a factor, it would be if the cottage was more away from daily operations of the sanctuary, but the guys try their level best to be discrete.

Reviewed Jul 14, 2026Excellent and welcoming staff with incredible picnic areas, and if one wishes to explore further, a great walk to the river. We were also welcomed by the sight of two beautiful newly born zebras, and were in awe at the ongoing conservation efforts of planting more than 5000 indigenous trees for the future, the removal of invasive species, the beautiful game drive, all in close range of the cottage, and the safari was perfect. Mossel Bay is just 15 minutes away, the accommodation was peaceful, the sight of wildlife was unforgettable, and to be so close to Impalas and Nyala, Waterbuck was a highlight. If you are looking for a affordable close to nature getaway in the Garden Route, this is an excellent self-catering accommodation. A great spot for eco tourism, bird watching (we spotted a pair of Secretary birds). Definitely a perfect nature retreat. Simple, real, family oriented, and very functional. Also loved the organic veggie garden behind the house and we picked our own. My son loved it, and it always gives us a sense of freedom and peace when we visit.

From the moment we arrived, Jane and Power made us feel incredibly welcome with their kindness, hospitality, and a refreshing welcome drink. The guesthouse was cozy and comfortable, especially with the lovely fireplace that created a warm and relaxing atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the game drive, which was an unforgettable experience. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and would highly recommend this guesthouse for a romantic couples' getaway or a relaxing family weekend away. We look forward to visiting again! 😊
The road leading to the guesthouse was not in great condition, which made the journey a bit challenging. We also missed having a TV available, especially with the rugby season approaching, and a microwave would have been a useful addition. Some appliances, such as the air fryer and oven, could have been cleaner upon arrival. It would also be great if a selection of board games could be provided for guests to enjoy during their stay. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and would recommend this guesthouse for a couples' getaway or a family weekend away. With a few small improvements, it would be even better.

Reviewed Apr 1, 2026The experience is in the name, sanctuary. Truly a blissful experience. Getting away and experiencing nature and the outdoors have never been so easy. The family loved it, as nature is on your doorstep. The host and staff on the farm are amazing. Very welcoming and very friendly. Makes the most to allow you to experience all parts of the farm and animals to the fullest.
It being a farm break away, you are exposed to water or electricity outages from time to time but this is normal. The farm is off the grid and can address this in most cases.

Reviewed Oct 24, 2025Потрясающий, уединенный, современный коттедж. Очень радушная хозяйка, которая заботилась о нас на протяжении всего отдыха в коттедже, а в подарок нас ждало вино и молоко. Так же нам ее силами была организована поездка по ферме, где на огромной территории живут зебры, бизоны, страус, водяные козлы и антилопы. Было ощущение, что мы побывали на сафари. Так же нас угостили свежими домашними яйцами, а возле дома можно было собирать полезную зелень.
Не хватало близости магазина или хотя бы доставки еды🙂 Было бы отлично, если можно было бы заказать фирменный обед или другое местное блюдо из местных продуктов.

Reviewed Aug 14, 2025Die Unterkunft liegt in wunderschöner Landschaft, abgelegen von allem, perfekt für einen ruhigen, gelassenen Aufenthalt. Die Unterkunft am sich ist sehr schön eingerichtet und hat eine gute Ausstattung. Whirlpool ist auch sehr toll.

Reviewed Aug 8, 2025Il cottage è immerso nel verde ed è molto curato nell'arredamento. La cucina è attrezzata per ogni esigenza. Il cestino di benvenuto è il migliore che mi sia capitato in 15 anni di viaggio. Ancora un ringraziamento ai meravigliosi proprietari. La strada di accesso è un lungo sterrato ma facilmente percorribile, consigliamo al rientro di non tornare indietro, ma di continuare su quella strada per poi immettersi più a nord in quella asfaltata perché i paesaggi sono molto suggestivi.
Se la notte è fredda il camino non è sufficiente a scaldare tutti gli ambienti. Sarebbe meglio dotare la casa di un paio di radiatori elettrici mobili. (Ma forse dovevamo solo chiederlo). L'acqua calda è finita dopo la prima doccia, ma probabilmente è sufficiente aspettare un po' perché si scaldi nuovamente.

The welcoming gifts on the counter and in the fridge was a wonderful surprise........thank you for excellent hospitality Nelis. The surroundings are breathtaking and the gamedrive a very special experience. oh yes the showers are perfect and the main bedroom"s view from the bed is a bonus
