Reviewed Jul 23, 2026This was my first time travelling to India and kerala traveling to India and kerala as a solo female traveler,I had a lot of concerns and fears regarding safety.Thats how I chose to stay at the cliff diaries varkala homestay.i had a really great experience there.the caretaker and manager treated me extremely well. I stayed there for 1 month. The beach was near resort, just a walking distance away. There was no safety issue at all. Everything was handled in a very good manner. They also had kitchen facilities. So I could cook my own food.it truly felt like staying in my own home. I strongly recommend cliff diaries for a stay.

The moment I entered they mentioned that the booking I made was for non AC rooms. I have never encountered a situation like this regarding AC and non AC. I showed them the booking.com of this property which never mentioned about AC or non AC options. It is pathetic to have a hotel without AC rooms in a location close to beach. They charged extra money for the AC option. Rest is fine.

Reviewed Mar 30, 2026La chambre était spacieuse et confortable. C'était agréable de pouvoir également profiter de la terrasse. La homestay était proche de la plage, à environ 15min à pieds. Nous avions réservé 2 lits doubles mais nous nous sommes retrouvés avec un seul lit double. Nous avons pu avoir 2 extra beds pour nos enfants. Le propriétaire et le jeune homme qui s'occupe des clients sont très arrangeants et ont répondu à notre demande sans soucis.

I asked the staff for an extra blanket he gave bedsheet and saying this is the only thing available right now he was saying take it or leave it Very bad stay and staff bad maintenance

Reviewed Feb 26, 2026This home stay is the perfect option for families. It is neat, clean and safe. Rooms are really spacious with a king size bathroom. Varkala north cliff is just 500 meters away. Caretaker Anantha was very much helpful and arranged Auto for visiting a few places and travelling back to the Railway station. Overall it was a cozy stay.

Posizione eccellente, vicino al Cliff ma allo stesso tempo lontano dai rumori del traffico e dei locali. Camera pulita, spaziosa e dotata di aria condizionata, connessione wifi, bagno privato con acqua calda, letto matrimoniale con materasso comodo e molto fresca e arieggiata. In generale tutta la struttura è ben tenuta e molto pulita. Il proprietario è una persona deliziosa e molto disponibile, così come il personale molto attento e professionale. Ottima qualità prezzo. Se dovete soggiornare a Varkala ve lo consiglio

Reviewed Feb 12, 2026The location was perfect: it was quiet and peaceful and yet only 200 metres from the tourist centre of Varkala (all the restaurants, access to the beach etc). The accomodation was an elegant composition of tranquil, calm simplicity, in natural colours, pot plants etc and a view over the wooded grounds of the adjacent temple. It was also spotlessly clean and guests have use of the kitchen.

Reviewed Jun 30, 2025Perfect location and homely vibes! Just a short walk from Varkala Cliff, Cliff Daires is the ideal stay for a peaceful getaway. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home. The rooms are clean and well-maintained. It’s easily accessible from the railway station – either by auto (₹100) or bus. I also rented a new model scooter in great condition directly from the homestay for ₹600. Highly recommended for comfort, convenience, and warm hospitality!
Nothing major to dislike. The room size is decent and comfortable for two people, though a slightly bigger room would be even better. One small suggestion – having a TV in the room would be nice, especially for relaxing during rainy weather or at night when staying in.

Reviewed May 16, 2025Staying in Cliff Diaries has been a wonderful experience for us ❤️. Amalsha, the owner of Cliff Diaries and as well as the other staffs were Soo helpful with everything 🙏🏻. Every time we needed anything, such as scooter booking or Kayaking and everything, he readily help us with them giving us good references and sometimes discount also😆. The location of the villa is great, just 5-10 min walk from here to the Varkala main beach and the Night Market. No issues with electricity, Water or anything. Wifi was good but sometimes a bit slow maybe?
