Tauranga Homestead Retreat

David, our host was very helpful in pointing out places of interest on our forward travels.

Everything about the place was great and very welcoming. Will be staying there again next time I'm in Tauranga.

My son and I really enjoyed our stay, my boy especially loved the lift and the spa bath. The house was beautiful, clean and rather luxurious. The hosts were a very friendly lovely couple and breakfast was amazing. They made our stay very comfortable and we hope to be back again in the near future.

I assumed the pool was open but it was closed due to it being Winter but the hosts were lovely and apologetic about it. We went to Fernland Spas instead for a quick dip.

The hosts were lovely and very hospitable. Loved the little lift that took our bags up to second level. Really felt like home away from home. My kids also loved the dog Pepe, he was very friendly as well! Highly recommend if you’re in Tauranga.

I had a good stay at the Tauranga Homestead Retreat. Comfortable bed and had a nice view from my room on the upper floor. I particularly liked the little elevator. Breakfast was served according to my choice and was delicious. It was nice to meet and have a chat with the hosts Dave and Tania.

Dave and Tania have a lovely home, and we felt very welcome there. We only stayed briefly but it was convenient, quiet and with extremely comfortable bed. Fab to have a cooked breakfast and coffee in the morning.

Location - handy to where we needed to be early next morning. Liked that the queen bed is sooooo cosy, the carpet is as soft as cotton wool and the hosts are very approachable and accommodating.

Separate bathroom, an oversight by me when selecting the BnB. However, the host took measures that we had exclusive access. It worked, thanks Dave.

The hosts, Dave and Tania, are absolutely fantastic — warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating. From the moment I arrived, they made me feel right at home. They were easy to converse with, always approachable, and genuinely interested in making sure my stay was comfortable and stress-free. The location was also perfect for me, being so close to Grace Hospital, which was ideal as my partner was having surgery. Breakfast was sooo delicious — beautifully prepared and clearly made with care. To top it off, they even invited me to join them for dinner, which was such a thoughtful and generous gesture. I truly appreciated their kindness and support during what was a challenging time. Their hospitality made all the difference.

This was the perfect place for me and my daughter to stay while my husband was a patient at Grace Hospital. The accommodation is only a five minute drive away from the hospital. I appreciated the airport pick for my daughter also. Dave and Tania are wonderful hosts and we appreciated their warm hospitality, the very comfortable beds and the delicious breakfast.

The hosts were lovely, the breakfast was delicious, and the location to the hospital was perfect for us so we could be close to our son.

It's a fantastic experience staying in Tauranga Homestead Retreat. The bedroom is very tidy and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is completely clean. Especially, the host Tania and Dave are super warm and enthusiastic. We had a lot of happy chatting and Dave knew I am a music lover, he shared some music with me. Before leaving Tania even gave us a pumpkin grown in their garden. Another thing worthy mentioned, their breakfast was the best among the B&Bs I've ever stayed. It's very fresh and delicious. Finally, Tania and Dave's dog Pepe is very cute, my wife and I were very happy playing with him.

I was traveling for work so for me the location was perfect, very near to industrial zone of Tauranga. Comfortable bedroom and bathroom. Very good breakfast with homemade jams and fresh fruits that come from their fruit trees and cultivations. However, the added value of the Tauranga Homestead Retreat is DAVE and TANIA hospitality and friendliness. Two amazing people who will make your stay very comfortable and pleasant.

Quiet area, walking distance to restaurants/shops. Comfortable room, with private bathroom, tea & coffee making facilities in room. Very obliging & courteous hosts, who even put through some laundry for me. Delicious and generous breakfast included. Booked this accomodation not realising it was a B&B with on-site hosts, but this actually didn't worry us in the end as we were given ample privacy.

Spotlessly clean, wonderful view, nice neighborhood, beautiful gardens, lots of amenities; Dave and Tania were fantastic hosts, breakfast was so delicious, they made our first night in New Zealand very special.

The hosts Dave and Tania were really helpful in pointing out places to visit in the area. The breakfast was great and they were exceptionally good hosts.

I think what we liked the most was the warmth of the hosts. We were given great tips on what to see next, they were very interesting, we had a great time. The neighbourhood was quiet, and we had a perfect breakfast. This stay was so relaxing.

What a beautiful home. My Auntie Maureen and I were in Tauranga for a funeral. Dave, Tania and their gorgeous dog Pepe, were awesome hosts!! Friendly, caring, genuine hospitality. I can also say that we invaded their space ... lol. Had great conversations, taught Tania a new card game, saw Dave's beautiful Thunderbird, and Pepe even "talked"/"sung" when Dave made some animal noises lol. One of Pepe's favorite TV programs is Country Calendar. :-) Outstanding facilities including a lift if not able to use the stairs. Would definitely be back for sure. Thank you so much for every and making us feel at home :-) Lavinia and Maureen

The house was beautiful, so quiet and beds comfortable. We felt like we were spoilt by our hosts with super yummy breakfasts. The pool was a great additional facility. We were there for Mel Young Basketball tournament so not there a lot. It really really suited us being a bit away from the busyness. Only 15mins to the different game venues. Would highly recommend for couples or quiet families. We loved the little dog very cute.

I was there with one son, it was perfect. As soon as my partner and other boy arrived, was not the most suitable place for two noisy teens.

We stayed in a very luxurious room with huge bathroom in the hosts house. It was very quiet. The property has a pool and a lift so recommended for those older or less physically able travellers. There was a good dining options quite close to the house.

It was a little bit odd for us to stay in someone's spare room but we got along well with the hosts. Breakfast was yummy when we got it, but that took a long time. Luckily we were not in a rush. Do not recommend for business travellers if this doesn't improve.

Dave and Tania were exceptional hosts, the room was very clean and tidy. We were treated to a fantastic breakfast and had a great conversation with them (they got the balance of respecting our privacy and yet being present when we needed them just right). We were very lucky to have a look at Dave's Thunderbird. A pleasure to meet you both and we will absloutely be coming back next time we're in Tauranga!

The house is very nice and clean. This place was ideal for me for one night stay. Big advantage is the owners - very friendly couple. And the best part was a delicious homemade breakfast supplemented with nice chat with the owner :).

Dave and Tanya are wonderful hosts that have a great balance of being friendly but leaving you to get on with your stay. Their home is beautiful and in a lovely safe area. The room had everything we needed and the spa bath was so nice to relax in. They made us a cooked breakfast to order which is fabulous hosting. Will definitely be our first choice whenever we're visiting Tauranga!

A very quiet location with good outside facilities including the use of a tennis court,swimming pools ,and local walks
