Reviewed Apr 4, 2026We loved that it was so close to the beach, harbour and shops…the property itself is a gem… family sized with all the facilities needed from a pool to a braai, indoor fireplace. Just perfect get away property ❤️
There was a moulding smell in the kitchen cupboard close to the basin where the filter coffee machine was kept I took it out to use and noted the filter part had not been cleaned and it was moulded and smelly but after I cleaned it the smell remained so I then assume it must be moisture that has not dried up in the cuboard…but maybe just check in case it spores.

Reviewed Jan 5, 2026A beautiful house, spacious, well decorated and with a lovely entertainment and braai (BBQ) area. Every bedroom has its own shower and toilet which is a bonus. Instructions for check in were clear and Sam was very responsive.
The accommodation has no satellite television, we had very bad weather and had as a result limited viewing options. Is it possible to provide this at an extra cost. Sam could also consider a basic starter pack like cooking oil, coffee, tea and perhaps fresh milk. These recommendation does not impact the fact that we loved the property.

Reviewed Dec 27, 2025Unfortunately the house was not clean at all and the photos are old as now everything doesn’t look as clean and nice as on the pictures. It’s a pitty as it’s a really nice house and terrace but really needs a proper proper clean up and renovation… there was still rubbish from the previous guests in the house and food in the fridge … also the bed sheets and the towels were dirty we left after one night even though we had booked it for three nights… the owner didn’t give us any refund

The linen and towels need to be replaced. The towels had yellow marks on and the bath carpets were dirty. The house would benefit from a thorough deep clean. The outside rooms have a noticeable damp smell and the outside braai pillows were wet and dirty.

The host goes the extra mile by providing little extra things to make the house feel like home away from home! Short walk to the Struisbaai beach, in a secure estate/complex. The host kept in touch and kept us updated. Will definitely book again in the future!

Reviewed Aug 25, 2024The pictures do not do it justice. The estate is well maintained and a short walk from the ocean. The house itself is spacious and so well designed with a fireplace inside and the braai area outside. Ideal for a holiday if lounging around and relaxing. Everything was as advertised. The hostess was superb and communicated everything we needed to know timeously before our stay. Was easy to get help if needed. Definitely a must stay and eager to go again.
Had to think hard and long for anything we didn’t like! If I had to nitpick I’d say the house was a bit damp when we arrived, but it’s definitely to be expected with a house by the ocean and a thatch roof. It was easily remedied by opening the doors and windows for a bit. It was also a bit dusty on the counters when we arrived, but again this is likely due to the thatch roof and heavy winds by the ocean. A quick wipe of the surfaces with a cloth (disposables were provided) and the house was good to go. The house was otherwise pristine.

Some small things (toilet spray and handwash in all bathrooms, proper coffee machine, a good bbq grill) just add the extra touch that you don’t see everywhere. The communication with the owner was one of the easiest I have experienced in a booking!

It is welcoming, comfortable and spacious, and the large space around the pool was a blessing when the wind picked up. It is the ideal holiday house for a family with children - or more than one family staying together. The kitchen was well equipped and very clean. A dishwasher on holiday is such a treat :)
There were no hand towels in the bathrooms, and the beds were standard length - not ideal for a super tall family! ;) We felt the bed linen and pillows should've been a better quality (100% cotton) especially in hot weather. A fan in each bedroom would be necessary in the middle of summer - and to chase away the mosquitoes.

Our only challenge was on arrival the cleaner had mistakenly locked the house from the inside so we struggled to get in but Samantha & Jacques were very helpful in trying to resolve this
