Maui Homestay

We had a great stay at this homestay. Cleanliness, comfort, location, hospitality, and atmosphere are all good. The place is conveniently located along the main road, making it easy to get around. We would happily to stay here again and highly recommend it to others. Thank you ate Janet:)

Molds everywhere even in pillows, when we checked in no one was there and no one told us about our room prior our arrival we waited for long and there was no signal in the area, the wifi is on and off as well.

הגענו להוסטל והמארחת(שומרת הבית) הייתה מקסימה וניסתה לעשות הכל בשבילנו.

הגענו לחדר הראשון שהמזגן היה רועש מאוד!! ונזילה במטבח שהרטיבה את כל החדר ואת התיקים שלנן. יום למחרת החליפו לנו לחדר אחר אבל כל החדר היה עובש וריח רע מאוד ולא בריא. העדפנו לעזוב.

This stay was amazing. For the price you pay, it is perfect. The rooms are super spacious and lack nothing. You have your own small kitchen in the room and a shared kitchen to use, which makes the stay super comfortable! Janet, the host of the accommodation, is amazing. We felt so incredibly welcome thanks to her! She is always there for you and can help you with all your questions. She is the sweetest host ever and does her job fantastically. So, this accommodation is definitely highly recommended!We loved it and we’ll definitely come back when we are in Siargao 😊

Le personnel, Janet était très réactive et a comblé les manquements de l'habitation. Le wifi était bon ainsi que la localisation.

Énormément de problème dans l'appartements : - invasion de fourmis donc impossible de stocker la moindre nourriture - pression de l'eau qui varie entre minable et éclaboussure totale, pareil pour la température - fuite d'eau - clim qui pourrait réveiller un sourd - manque d'intimité total - salle de bain sale

Das Bad ist baufällig: - Es regnet rein - Überall entsteht neuer Dreck, auch nachdem wir sauber gemacht haben (Wir denken Insekten arbeiten an/in den Wänden) - Die Decke löst sich auf - Die Toilette tropft - Das Insektengitter ist kaum befestigt - Aus dem Wasserhahn kommt braunes Wasser Die Zimmertüre ist nicht dicht, es ist ein großer Spalt. Dadurch hört gerade morgens die Straße sehr. Die Küche im Zimmer ist schlecht ausgestattet (auch kein Kühlschrank, obwohl auf den Bildern abgebildet). Die Küche unten ist auch kaum zu gebrauchen (siehe Fotos).

Bathroom dilapidated windows and towels are very thin and old.

The staff is accommodating, And the place is kinda relaxing.

I didn't like the room were there is a leakage but the staff take action and transfered us to another room.

Très bonne localisation, le personnel est adorable et arrangeant, la chambre était confortable et propre, eau chaude et wifi fonctionne bien

La clim était très bruyante, petite suggestion : il serait appréciable d’avoir du gel douche/shampoing et une petite étagère dans la salle de bain, mais rien de grave :)

Unfortunately, the hot water was unstable, and the evacuation of the shower was not good at all, which implied a lot of humidity on the ground and on the room.

Alojamiento aceptable pero con mucho margen de mejora. Lo positivo: - Habitación: espaciosa y práctica, relativamente bien equipada. Dispone de depósito de agua filtrada propio. - Wifi: estable y buena señal. - Precio: mejor que otras ofertas similares en la zona equivalente.

- Gestión: casi inexistente, sólo se encuentra allí a la señora de la limpieza unas pocas horas en torno al mediodía; en pocas ocasiones tienen la iniciativa de limpiar la habitación y dejar repuesto de papel higiénico o toallas, lo tienes que pedir al propietario por whatsapp o a la limpiadora si coincides con ella. - Comunicación: Tras la reserva y recibir el primer mensaje automático, y previa a nuestra llegada, no tuvimos respuestas del propietario por 3 dias; margen en el que avisamos que llegabamos 1 día posterior al de la reserva y no obtuvimos información sobre cómo hacer el check-in (especialmente importante sino tienes alguien fijo en recepción en horas de la mañana). Al llegar y viendonos en la calle (8 am del dia posterior a nuestra reserva, debieramos tener acceso a la habitacion ya), hicimos numerosos intentos de llamada al propietario quien no respondia. Sólo pudimos contactarle a través de alguien local conocido que tenía también alguno de sus teléfonos. Resultó estar la llave en la puerta de nuestra habitación, pero no nos informaron. - Limpieza: muy mejorable, hay espacios sucios que bastaría simplemente pasar un trapo para que se vieran bien (fotos). - Problemas técnicos: pequeña filtración de agua junto a una vigueta en la 2a habitación de la última planta que a lo largo del día y como haya lluvias intensas crea un charco entre la mesa escritorio y el espejo. El agua de la ducha y lavabo apenas lleva presión. Los enchufes no agarran bien los conectores europeos (casi que los escupen) y comunmente encuentras que tus dispositivos no cargan sino pones algo adicional para ejercer presión.

A/C larmede mere en normalt. Der kunne forekomme trafik støj om natten. Meget utæt dør og væg, så var plaget af en del myg. Det var sørgeligt at se toilet, løb konstant i 4 dage, ( meget ) Der manglede kost og skrallespand.

Nothing, I can't compare it to our previous homestay. Each has its own advantages & disadvantages.

I like the room it was so good and very clean. The aircon was good also very cold. It was a nice place to stay very quiet, plus they have a kitchen you can cook there if you like cooking and also save money.The caretaker was very good and very accommodating she was so nice to us. If I will come back there soon I will still choose Maui homestay.

Maybe the tiles on the toilet need to be more white put some zonrox whitening detergent because it looks dirty and the shower is not working in our room I don't know about the other rooms, and also the kitchen downstairs need to check if it's the garbage or other bad smells like cat poop or some old stock but all in all was a good experienced for us. I can cook there what ever I want,no time limit.

Era muy ruidoso.Al estar al lado de la carretera principal no había quien descansará.La presión de la ducha era inexistente...caía un chorrito sin fuerza ni casi agua.

Es tranquilo, ubicado fuera de la zona de fiesta pero próximo al centro. Habitación espaciosa y camas cómodas. Los dueños muy amables. Te ayudan con todo.

Poca ventilación en las habitaciones

El primer dia estuvimos en una habitación donde no había agua caliente, la cisterna perdia agua y los utensilios de cocina estaban un pelin sucios. Fue contactar con los propietarios y se preocuparon desde el minuto 1 de arreglar todo aquello, cambiarnos de habitación y asegurarse que nuestra estancia fuera lo mas acogedora posible. Las habitaciones son amplias y están limpias. Tan satisfechos nos quedamos, que alargamos 1 día mas.

They are on a main cemented road, no issues with flooding. We were greeted by the host and he was very friendly. We also chatted with the staff and she was very friendly also. We arrived a little early for checkin from checking out of another accomodation. We intended to leave our bags first but the room was ready so we were able to set them inside before leaving for the day. The room was clean, AC worked great, and beds were comfy. There is a small shared kitchenette on the ground floor.

At night the ground floor area can be quite dark if the outdoor lights by the rooms are not on. Not a huge issue. The bathroom drain had a smell but other than that it was ok, hot shower worked fantastically.

Cleaner was friendly.

No back up power generator meant we spent most of our stay with no running water, electricity, A/C etc.

I booked a room with two double beds and accidentally listed one adult on Booking and the price for two adults is the same and the owner of the place argued and charged more money and threatened to throw us and our bags out if we didn't pay. An unpleasant experience at all.

The location is great—very close to tourist attractions, which made it convenient to explore.

The area outside was quite dark at night due to poor lighting. It's not the fault of Maui Homestay; the barangay should consider installing street lights.

The owners are very responsive and gave all helpful information. Big space inside the property to park motorcycle/scooter/bike. Great location, very close to the main part of town where all the restaurants, cafes, and shops are. Close to general luna beach, car and motorbike rentals, and stores to buy necessities.

The water pressure in the shower is a bit low so it took longer to shower. There's a small gap between the door and the wall when you close it, so would be great if this can be fixed.

Location: I like that it’s close to Tourism Road and most stores where we buy our essentials. There’s a store in front where you could buy most of your necessities and it’s just a few minutes drive going to General Luna Port- where most people went to go island hopping or go breakfast (Whitebeard) and it’s a few minutes walk to the a bank (BDO) and gas station (Petron). It’s close to where you could rent scooters or vehicles (Bridgestone) or even travel tours (AJ Tours). Host: The hosts are very hospitable and receptive. I enjoyed our small talks and they made sure we’re comfortable while we stayed in Siargao. I also love their housekeeper, she always makes sure our room is clean every day and she’s fun to talked with. Room: The room is wide and could easily fit 4 pax. It also has a small kitchen counter with heater and private toilet which has hot showers also. Both their beds are queen size too. Bonus, it also has good wifi too 😊 Common space: Downstairs you’ll find a shared kitchen so you could cook and you could park your scooters after using. Price: It’s definitely worth it especially if you’d be traveling by group.

So far, NONE. I don’t have problems during our 6 days of staying at their place. And I could simply asked them via chat for inquiries.

Loved it! very accommodating and experienced no hassle in check in and out.

Big clean rooms, excellent location, daily house keeping if needed, laundry service available, quick response when communicating with homestay host. There generally is no one on the premises other than the house cleaner for a few hours but this wasn’t a problem as the host responded immediately on the booking message board and addressed any of my needs/questions professionally. Super happy with my stay thank you . Oh! And comfy beds!

A little bit far from the main road, but not too bad. Like a 10min walk.

The place is super clean, big rooms, great WiFi and hot water. It is just 3 minutes by motorbike to the center or 15 minutes walk. The host and his family are super sweet, they offer room clean everyday, and switch towels and sheets every three days as well. The shower offers hot water and the price is very reasonable. Definitely recommend!

Hosts very friendly with option to have nice chats. Very big rooms compare to rest of Philippines. Early check inn at 9am was no problem. Room is getting cleaned daily if needed. Cleaners asking daily if we need something like fresh towels, toilet paper, water… free bottled water provided in room. Stayed 4 nights in the end.

The owners was very helpful and kind! The neighbourhood was 4 minutes walking from the main area with all the stores restaurants bars and quite also!

I had a very nice time here. The room has a lot of space, the ac works great and the best part is the internet. The wifi works amazing! I was able to have work meetings without any problem.

Shower pressure was extremely low and air conditioning was not effective. Staff also made a comment about a guest visiting, trying to ask us to pay for them visiting.

Tapu and Lucie are fantastic people and super available hosts. I totally recommend this place to anyone, which is also strategically located in general luna!

Tapu is very accomodating, we can cook our food because they provide the utensils and the location is very near with a grocery store and a meat shop. Very convenient in searching for a cab because it is just beside the dapa-gen luna road

The Homestay had a big spacious room and good aircon. We had an issue with the hot water but the owner organised to have it fixed the following morning which was so quick. The owners were very helpful and friendly.

The power plugs are at awkward heights for the electronics provided and for charging personal devices.

A nice place to stay for small Budget. The owner was very nice and gave all needed information. The room was very big and clean. You have some dishes if you want to cook and a fridge. We would absolute recommand this place.

The owners are super cool, friendly, helpful and easygoing. Place was clean, room was spacious and comfortable. Plants in the rooms was a nice accent :) Maui is located 5 mins away from the town centre (with a motorbike), it’s also walkable, about 15 mins walk. There are shops and some restaurants nearby. They will also help you with bike rental or airport transfer. Highly recommended.

It is conveniently located just outside the downtown area of General Luna. As long as you are ok with the noise - since it is on the main road from other part of Siargao to General Luna - it would be a good choice. But it's better to have ear plugs. The room was spacious although the curtain was so transparent that anyone could see through it from outside. (I wonder if they actually fixed it after my stay)

First, I would like to be completely honest about my experience, hoping this will help those considering the place. About the facility: it was equipped with essential appliances such as a fridge, plates, drinking water, etc., which was great, but the bathroom should have been better. The bathroom door was broken and I couldn't close it properly, and I had hard time taking a shower at a normal temperature - the shower water was either too hot or freezing. But I think I get what I pay for, and this is normal in this area for the price I paid per night. If you want to take a proper shower, it looks like you have to pay at least twice of what I paid here. About the communication: I am still not feeling good about owner's communication. When I told them that the curtain was transparent, they asked me if I wanted to move to a different room and I agreed to such a kind gesture. But I wasn't sure when I am supposed to move, so the next day or so, I asked them casually about that and then they said "can you move now? we are having the next ,uest NOW." I was like "NOW?" ButI was away from the place so I told them I was coming back and to wait for me a little bit. But they didn't even try to listen and they moved my stuff without my permission. I was really frustrated since I had important medications and I really don't like my stuff to be touched by anyone. (By the way, they still put the new guest into the same room with the transparent curtain...). Besides, from my conversation with one of the housekeepers, I noticed that they (the housekeepers) always check on guests from outside (or even inside?) the room what/how they are doing, which was kinda creepy for me. So this place doesn't really offer privacy. If you are willing to stay at this price range but still want to maintain privacy, this place is not for you.
