The location was perfect - just off the N12. It is a stand-alone house with a great deal of privacy. The house is an inspiration in its simplicity, warmth, cleanliness, style, and amenities. Modern yet befitting the incredible surroundings of the Karoo. Complete unobstructed views. Magnificent. And the hot tub was a touch of genius. Most definitely one of the best places I have overnighted in my life. What an experience

This was our 3rd stay on this amazing farm. This hidden gem is a mere 70 km from Beaufort West, situated on the N12 toward De Rust, within a sprawling 10,000-hectare working sheep farm. Conveniently located right next to the N12, it offers easy access while providing an escape into nature. The sweeping vistas from the house are nothing short of mesmerizing. The vast open spaces invite relaxation, allowing you to momentarily forget the hustle and bustle of city life. Newly built, the house is equipped with all the modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay, including a delightful wood-fired hot tub outside. The quality of linen, beds, and towels is comparable to that of a five-star establishment—extremely clean and upmarket. The showers feature exceptional water pressure and piping hot water, enhancing your bathing experience. The kitchen boasts a dishwasher and ice machine, while an outside braai and pizza oven cater to your culinary needs. Indoor fireplace This destination embodies peace, quiet, and relaxation, all bundled into one remarkable package. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a break from the ordinary. The host is incredibly responsive, available on WhatsApp, and typically replies within ten minutes to any queries you may have. Words can not capture the charm of this cottage. On arrival, we were greeted with freshly baked bread, butter, and jam—a lovely personal touch. You can also purchase firewood and firelighters, as well as upscale wine and fresh products, such as jam and salad dressing. For cycling enthusiasts, this haven is a dream come true, with hours of cycling available in a vast, safe environment. Come and experience it for yourself; you definitely won't be disappointed!

Host and owner, Tia created this old school farm style house with a chique and practical layout which resulted in a top-notch luxury unit on a karoo sheep farm. There are too many attributes to mention. Don’t be shy, spoil yourself. The best Karoo farm-stay by far.

Peace and tranquility. Super clean spacious house. Wood fired hot tub. Massive braai on an awesome verandah. Fantastic view. Not too remote. Best value for money. Very private. Mountain bike paradise. Most amazing sunset and star gazing.

They have thought of absolutely everything you might need. The place was spotless and the beds so comfortable. Hot tub was awesome!

The house was well furnished and clean with beautiful, uninterupted views all around of the Karoo. We loved the outside hot tub. You can go for walks and explore. Everything was as displayed in the pictures.

In the middle of nowhere, a very clean and confortable accommodation

We loved everything about the place. It was a great and relaxing experience which we thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely go back and recommend Traka Cottage to our friends..

On Booking.com it says the accommodation is in Prince Albert, but it is actually just under 100km away .

The property is absolutely stunning and the photos just don’t do it justice. The rooms were well appointed. Both rooms have king beds. The kitchen was well stocked. Our host also had a SnapScan honesty shop where we could help ourselves to braai packs, biscuits, rusks and preserves. There was also a wood burning hot tub which was amazing. Our host was also so welcoming and even brought us homemade sauces and jams.

Everything, from the beautiful scenery as you drive in to the exceptionally clean, simply designed but stunning interior, to the cleanliness of the entire property. Tia has thought of everything to make the guests stay seamless.

What an absolutely phenomenal spot! The house is so spacious, beautifully equipped and immaculately clean. The owners have thought of everything! There are even items like wine and braai packs in the fridge you can buy via SnapScan. It was the perfect place to rest after a long day of driving. We will definitely be back.
