Reviewed Mar 7, 2026I chose Silwerkaroo after passing by last year and stopping for Coffee at the Padstal run by the property. I went this year seeking solitude and quiet and was not dissapointed. I had 5 wonderful days doing nothing but relax, read, and enjoy the views. The Padstal on the property, run by the same owners, offers simple but good home-baked refreshements, and good conversation. The property is self-catering but the facilities to prepare your own food were everything you could need. Even a Braai available for those who enjoy that style of cooking.
There was nothing that disappointed me. Beaufort West, the nearest town for shopping is about 30 minutes drive, but I knew that before I booked my stay. If you want Restaurants or fast food, it's a little way to drive, I didn't want those so I was prepared and happy.

Reviewed Jan 23, 2026The place is beautifully and tastefully decorated. It is old world farm style, yet contemporary and we felt welcome the moment we set foot there. Henco is the most charming host and treated us as friends. He brought figs and even arranged for meat from the farm stall for our braai. He showed us around and then left us to enjoy the silence and peace the majestic Karoo offered. I recommend this to anyone who needs an overnight stay or a break away that is stylish, yer affordable!

Reviewed Jan 6, 2026I loved how secluded it was, I loved the interiors as it was quite eccentric and there was attention to every detail. I beg everyone that comes here to please go star gazing it was absolutely breathtaking!
Be careful with the fire as it can sometimes smoke the room. So have a small fire.

Very quiet & peaceful place on a Karoo farm. It was comfortable & well equipped with everything we needed for our stay.

Property is fenced so great for pets Good coffee and biscuits were made available and the oen bedroom unit had all self catering equipment you need Excellent bed! Will be back - highly recommended

It's clean, it's in the Karoo, it's cozy, beautifully decorated, to much to mention. I wish we were early so that we could have had dinner there. The braai facilities were so inviting. I loved waking up in the quiet of the area and wander outside in the then already warm morning air and just take in the scenery. It would be my layover place of choice in future.
We were late and left early so we did not really enjoy the peace and quiet.

Reviewed Jan 4, 2025Dit was n groot verassing. Pragtige huis met die mooiste binne versiering. Baie Huislik en gemaklik. Kamers is goed toegerus met n goeie bed; genoeg kragproppe en n waaier. In die kombuis was daar n houer beskuit; koffie; suiker; tee en melk in die yskas. Daar is n groot kaggel/braaier in die kombuis. Die huis het dik mure met hout vloere; so al is dit hoe warm buite is die huis koel binne. Mooiste sons opkomste & ondergange. Dit was al om n fantasiese belewenis. Dankie Henco & Bennie vir julle gasvryheid.

Reviewed Dec 15, 2024Located on the N12 on the way to the spectacular Meiringspoort pass. There are no neighbours to see so you can sit on the porch and enjoy a spectacular sunset in the Karroo. The unit we stayed in was quirky, really large, with amazing attention to authentic detail.The window in the toilet bears this out as it is well-placed to get the sunrise. The Priscilla bus outside the padstal is a hint of what is to come. Highly recommended for weary travellers who are looking for something different. Just remember to bring your own supper or buy fish and chips from Gouveias in Beaufort West... recommended. Host welcoming, caring and friendly!
