Legacy Hostel is an amazing hostel. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotless and comfortable, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I loved the Terrasse and common areas. It’s perfect for relaxing or meeting other travelers. Great location too, close to everything you need. They offer amazing tours as well! If you’re visiting Muscat, I can’t recommend this place enough.

Tout L’accueil par Lou était au top même si nous sommes arrivées très tard le soir il nous a attendue. Zohair est au petit soin et nous a guidé de loin Le hostel est très bien situé . Bref je voulais prolonge mon séjours rien que pour rester dans l’auberge Je reviendrai sûrement Si je pouvais mettre plus de 10 je le mettrai

C’est comme à la maison. J’ai été accueillie par un plat tunisien qu’on a partagé tous ensemble dans la cuisine! Zouhaier, Tigani et Lou s’assurent que tout va bien et n’hésitent pas à partager plein d’informations et de conseils. Ils m’ont même conduite à plusieurs endroits. Ils participent à créer une atmosphère chaleureuse et qui met à l’aise. Gros plus: ils proposent tout un tas de packages en petit groupe de visites/expériences des lieux principaux (îles, Wadi Shan, Nizwa…) ce qui est très utile étant donné qu’il est difficile d’atteindre ces lieux sans voiture. Le lieu est paisible, bien placé et le salon est idéal pour rencontrer les autres guests. Les dortoirs et salle de bain sont propres (les filles ont même une salle de bain prévue dans le dortoir) et les lits confortables (un peu ferme pour les inhabitués). Les lits du bas ont des rideaux (mais pas ceux du haut). Je recommande définitivement cet hostel ! C’est un moyen de découvrir l’essentiel de Muscate et ses environs, de rencontrer d’autres voyageurs avec une super ambiance! Rapport qualité/prix, il n’y a rien à dire: il est très bon.

While Legacy Hostel in Muscat offers a comfortable stay, the location isn’t ideal for those looking to walk to attractions. The hostel is quite far from most key sites, and you’ll need a car or a taxi to get anywhere, including the beach. Additionally, there are a fair number of cats around the property, which some guests might find charming, but others could be bothered by their presence.

I really like the way people sit together and chat. The location is prime and at the city centre: The host was very kind and helpful

The caretaker from Tunisia is a very good man, friendly and supportive. He also ensured our comfort during the stay at the hostel. I would always recommend him and the legacy hostel to others visiting Oman.

La amabilidad del personal para aconsejarte sobre las actividades en Oman, además todas las instalaciones contaban con aire acondicionado y el área de la cocina tenía todo lo necesario para preparar las comidas. También un plus que dispone de servicio de lavandería.

The caretaker/owner from Tunisia is a very good man and supportive. He also ensured our comfort during our stay at the hostel. I would always recommend him and legacy hostel to others visiting Oman.

I had an excellent stay at this hostel. The owner was incredibly hospitable, always ready to help with directions, recommendations, and anything else I needed. The room was clean, the atmosphere was welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend.

Bad experience

Top place, people are really friendly, helpful, you can always receive help. Really recommended for backpackers, common rooms were open for everyone. You can also meet some cats!

The room, living area, and bathroom were all very clean and comfortable, but what truly made the experience special was the host’s hospitality and the warmth of the people there. The host even let me work late at night in the living room—despite the fact that it’s where he sleeps—and he offered me ice cream too! I was so impressed by his hospitality and professionalism. I honestly wish I could have stayed longer. I would love to come back to Muscat just to stay here again. Thank you so much!

From the moment I arrived I was made to feel really at home. The kitchen facilities are great, with lots provided.. I was even given a meal when I arrived, tho this is not to be expected. The atmosphere is relaxed and accepting. The women's dorm room spacious & cool with attached bathroom. I appreciated the curtain for my lower bunk bed and had the best sleeps. Great experience exploring Muscat with other inmates. Tho fiercly hot outside it was cool inside throughout. Can't praise I highly enough! Thanks for a wonderful home in Muscat. Speaking of which - lots of puss-cats in Muscat and a couple of mus-kittens were born at the hostel.

Less than perfect is the location. Altho there are shops nearby an Uber was needed to get anywhere else of interest. I didn't use the bus systems.

The owner is nice, the common space is cozy and comfortable.

My bed (upper-bed) was just below the airconditionar and it was freezing. I was given a thick blanket when I checked in and I was curious why, but later I found it. I felt like I could catch a cold but I understand the onwer tried to solve the problem.

Legacy Hostel is a great place for a backpacker visiting Muscat on a budget. In the summer months it was an oasis to walk into and feel the strong AC to give you a break from the heat. Beds were comfortable. Lou at the front desk was super welcoming and helpful, answered any questions about things to do and places to visit. I would definitely recommend to any traveller!

Honestly had such a good time here! The hostel has this chill, friendly vibe that makes you feel at home straight away. Met some amazing people , lou was super helpful, Beds were comfy, showers were hot, and the location was perfect for wandering around. Already missing it and kinda wish I could’ve stayed longer.”

كل شي كان رائع 🤩. فعلا هوستيل يستحق الاشادة والزيارة والتجربة .. نظافة مستمرة. كرم ضيافة. اسعار معقولة. هدوء، لطافة المكان. بساطة وطيبة النزلاء. اهتمام شخصي من قبل زهير المضيف. اما الهوست لؤي تعجز الكلمات عن وصف طيبته، كرمه، نظافته، اسلوبه، ادبه، كل شي. .. مطبخ متكامل مجهز بكل ما تحتاجه. دورات مياة نظيفة. غرف مريحة. ملحقات الهوستيل كالشواية والجلسات وكل ما تحتاجه تلقاه. تلبية كل ما تطلبه من ادوات او اجهزة او غيره. انترنت قوي. شاشة عرض رائعة. ما ان تمكث يوم او يومين حتى يصير الجميع كعائلة واحدة. اتمنى لكم كل نجاح..

Clean, nice, meet nice people, the host was great

Great location and comfortable accommodation. The bunk bed was sturdy and didn’t make any noise — perfect for a good night’s sleep. The host was very kind and even allowed me to take a shower later the same day after checkout. Highly appreciated!

No thing , every thing is exceptional

The place is not so nice, breakfast was not available to buy. The place is quite dirty. There were hairs on the pillow and mattress. People there are strange, talking on the phone loudly at 2 am, switching on light at 1 am. Someone tried to come to my sleeping place at midnight - door open and everyone can come any time? Why did no one meet the person and tell him where to sleep? I booked a hostel just to sleep (from 10 pm to 6 am), but I was able to sleep only 4-5 hours a day due to continuous disturbing.

Very spacious, very clean, the gentleman who works there can tell the history of Oman like a tour guide and helps with transportation and food. We can say that a place close to most locations can be stayed for months, summers are cold and winters are hot.

A shower in the room and an additional one in the hallway. Quiet and peaceful atmosphere. Cozy environment. Polite staff and manager. Great location. A kitchen equipped with everything necessary.

My bed was facing the air conditioner, so I had to adjust it to direct the airflow in a different direction in order to sleep comfortably. Everything went well.

- Lou (Gasmilouay) is perhaps the best hostel manager I have ever met in my travels over 90 countries. He is helpful not only in taking care of your needs while at the hostel but also arranges tours/ taxis for you/ guides you well. - clean hostel with every amenity possible including mineral water dispenser that you can use to fill your bottles up for the day.

I had a wonderful stay at Heritage Hostel! The place was very clean, and the atmosphere felt just like home from the moment I arrived. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe and comfortable the entire time, which made my trip so much more enjoyable. The owner was incredibly helpful and kind, always available to assist or offer suggestions. One of the best parts of my stay was the friendly, welcoming environment—I made many good friends during my time there, and it really enhanced the experience. I’ll definitely be visiting again soon and would highly recommend Heritage Hostel to anyone looking for a warm, safe, and social place to stay.

Everything was good

I spent five great days at Legacy Hostel and felt like home. I already miss my little hostel family. The ladies dorm was very clean and spacious with an own bathroom that was kept very clean. What I liked most was the comunal area where you always found someone to chat and connect and plan trips together. Also there were many cute cats <3

The cats were a bit annoying sometimes.

Everyone at the hostel, from staff to other guests, was friendly and accommodating. The room and bathroom were kept very clean and the bunk beds were cozy (I found them quite comfortable, I like a good firm mattress). Communication with the owner and manager was easy before and during our stay, and we shared some meals and engaging conversations with our host and the other guests. Easy and cheap to take a taxi out for sightseeing/restaurants/etc., and I liked being a quiet neighborhood. In short, this was the perfect place for 5 friends to stay while exploring Muscat for a couple days.

Lulu was an incredibly kind and genuine host who created an easygoing, welcoming space where I met amazing people from all over the world. One of the highlights was a laid-back, unforgettable day at Wadi Shab—good vibes, good people, and memories I’ll hold onto. Even though I didn’t get to meet Zouhaier, the owner, he was so kind and patient through WhatsApp, helping me get everything set up before I arrived. It really meant a lot and set the tone for the whole experience

Perfect hostel to stay in Muscat. Comfy, clean and very communal.

Une expérience inoubliable dans ce lieu chaleureux, convivial et très très bien géré. Je recommande grandement cette adresse dont la propreté, l’ambiance, la localisation et le prix en font l’une des meilleurs hostels que j’ai visité. The accommodation, the staff, the other travellers

I took with them a trip to Wadi Shab, I was told that everything was safe in there however, someone stole about 200 usd from my backpack while we were swimming in pool. Nobody took care of me, and they blamed me that was my fault. So be careful
