Athenian Retreat Penthouses

We stayed in the Afaia Suite and loved our stay. The hostess, Falia, was excellent at communicating and gave very clear instructions regarding the location and check in process. We loved the security of the suite and felt safe during our time there; the bed was comfortable and AC worked great. The location was perfect, just a short walk from the Monastiraki metro station. It was a perfect suite, just what we needed! The only thing I will mention is there is just a little bit of muffled noise from the lively street below - it really isn't a big deal and the apartment is very soundproof from the outside, but if you're a light sleeper you may want to bring ear plugs. Not a big deal!

The only thing I would change, and this is just being knitpicky, is the sheets were a little scratchy. But after a long day exploring Athens, it really didn't matter!

Location is very good. Only few minutes to the metro that takes straight to the airport. Room was clean and communication worked well with the owner.

A wonderful, secure, quiet place to stay, very close to Monastiraki Square & metro, restaurants, shopping and main archaeological sites. A well equipped apartment, great air conditioner, with access via keypad codes. Falia was always available to help if needed. Highly recommended.

Posizione centrale tra psyrri e monastiraki. Appartamenti spaziosi. Grande disponibilità dell'host che pur non essendoci visti di persona ha gestito tutto da whatsapp. Preciso che essendo un appartamento non è prevista la pulizia giornaliera, però fanno un refresh della camera per i pernottamenti più lunghi.

Perfect location 10/10 close to Monastiraki station. You can easily get to the harbour from here, as well as to the airport. The apartment is well equipped and very quiet; no noise came in from outside. The air conditioning worked perfectly even in the extreme heat. This was our second stay here, and we had a wonderful time. I highly recommend it to everyone.

La posizione è veramente il fiore all'occhiello di questo appartamento. Super vicino a tantissimi locali di uno dei quartieri più caratteristici di Atene. L'appartamento è abbastanza ampio. Letti molto comodi.

Odore non gradevole appena entrati, andato poi via aprendo le finestre. Bagno un po' angusto (il lavandino solo), il fatto che bisogna attivare ogni volta il boiler per doccia calda.

Perfekte Lage für Erkundungen und trotz des Ausgehviertels kann man gut und ruhig schlafen. Sehr gute Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter, der auch auf die Wünsche eingeht.

The rooms were amazing and very comfortable, exactly what we needed. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the Psiri neighborhood and just a short walk from Monastiraki Square. Falia was exceptional and always willing to help with anything we needed. We will definitely be coming back.

One small suggestion would be to extend the automatic hot water timer for the shower by a few more minutes. However, this did not detract from our stay in any way.

Les deux hôtes étaient superbes ! Elles nous ont donnés des idées de visites et de cafés. La chambre est très grande et propre. Le lit confortable. Emplacement au top.

Sijainti oli aivan mahtava. Apua ja neuvoja oli koko ajan saatavilla, jos niitä olisi kaivannut. Huone oli erittäin siisti ja hyvin varusteltu. Tilava, toimivalla ilmastoinnilla sekä kaikin puolin viihtyisä majoitus. Tulemme varmasti takaisin, kun seuraavan kerran suuntaamme Ateenaan.

Hyvin mitätön ongelma, mutta olisimme kaivanneet puhtaita roskapusseja vessaan, mutta niitäkin sai helposti kaupasta.

I had an amazing stay at Athenian Retreat Penthouses. The location is perfect — right in the heart of Athens, close to everything, while still feeling safe and comfortable. The area never felt shady, even at night, which made the whole experience even better. The apartment itself was clean, modern, and very comfortable, with everything needed for a great stay. A special thanks to Falia, who went above and beyond to make sure my stay would be amazing. Her kindness, availability, and attention to detail truly made a difference. The only downside for me was finding out after booking that it’s a non-smoking hotel, but aside from that, everything was excellent. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Athens!

Per chi desidera trascorrere qualche giorno in vacanza ad Atene, consiglio assolutamente questo appartamento. È pulitissimo e dotato di ogni comfort (microonde, ferro da stiro, phon, frigo con all’interno 1 bottiglia d’acqua ecc.). La proprietaria è gentilissima e super disponibile: ci ha risposto immediatamente anche a tarda sera quando avevamo bisogno di informazioni. Inoltre, è stata molto cortese nel permetterci di lasciare le valigie all’interno dell’appartamento il giorno della partenza, così da poterle riprendere prima di andare in aeroporto. Posizione centralissima , ad 1 minutl dalla metro e a 3 minuti dalla piazza di Monastiraki. Vicino ci sono tantissimi locali . Consigliatissimo !!!!

Located at the heart of psyri and her the room is so quiet. The room is big and equipped with everything is needed. The owner is lovely and allowed me a late check out without extra charges. Very recommended!

Comfortable bed and pillows, not too soft, just my preference. Clean linens, new and shiny. Towels new, clean, very good quality. Superb central location. We loved it. Furthermore, communication was fast and flawless.

Excellent stay – highly recommended! We stayed at this property for 5 days and had a great experience. The staff were very friendly and always ready to help. The room was spacious and very clean. The location is excellent, very close to Monastiraki Metro Station, with many restaurants and coffee shops nearby. The neighborhood also felt very safe. Highly recommended!

È stato tutto perfetto. L’accoglienza da parte di Falia è stata splendida, non ci ha fatto mancare nulla e ci ha fatto sempre sentire la sua “vicinanza” nonostante non ci sia stato bisogno di nulla. La struttura si trova in una posizione ottima per visitare Atene a piedi. Il quartiere è molto vivace e autentico, ma noi ci siamo sempre sentiti molto tranquilli e, anzi, abbiamo apprezzato molto l’autenticità della zona. Inoltre, ci sono molti bar e ristoranti molto frequentati, per cui ci sono sempre persone per strada. L’appartamento si presenta come nelle foto, pulito, spazioso e dotato di tutto il necessario. Difficile trovare di meglio!

De locatie van het appartement is perfect. Midden in wijk Psyrri achter Monastiraki. Een gezellige plek midden tussen leuke restaurants, ontbijtplekken en cafés. De host was zeer vriendelijk en gaf snel antwoord op onze vragen. De studio was comfortabel en had alles wat we nodig hadden. Een aanrader!

Falia, our hostess waited to welcome us at our arrival. The appartement was super clean and was matching the pictures we saw on the website. Also we were nearby everything important for us to see and visit and take our chance to get everywhere by walk and we suceed. Falia was available to answer with great efficiency to our questions, She gave us some suggestions when we asked for roof top to be great at night and to get on for brunch. We took her suggestions and were delighted with the restaurant wich were ,again, exaclty as she describes to us for the cooking, the hosting and the view.

Ottima posizione, zona viva ma allo stesso tempo silenziosa. Tutti i punti di interesse raggiungibili a piedi. Ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo. Stanza comoda e pulita. Semplice il self check in e possibilità di lasciare i bagagli. Host molto disponibile

Great location, host was super responsive, and the room was a great size for 2 on top of being perfectly clean. The host was amazingly sweet and created a honeymoon welcome package for us before we left for the islands. 10/10 would stay here again!

The bed was a tad firm for my partner but I enjoyed it

Ηταν ολα τελεια,μπορει να ειχε αρκετη ζεστη οταν μπηκαμε μεσα αλλα με το κλιματιστικο ηταν ολα τελεια! Πεντακαθαρο , αναπαυτικο κρεβατι , ωραιο μπανιο ! Επισης bonus ειναι οτι μας περιμενε ενα μπουκαλι νερο και ενα μπουκαλι χυμος ως καλωσορισμα! Σιγουρα θα το επισκεφτουμε ξαναα!

Otelin konumu gerçekten harikaydı, Atina’da gezmek için daha iyisi zor. Her yere yürüyerek rahatça gittik, metroya da sadece 3–4 dakika mesafedeydi. Havaalanından metroyla gelip yine aynı şekilde metroyla döndük, çok kolay ve rahattı. Otel temizdi, gün içinde dinlenip tekrar gezmeye çıkmak çok keyifli oldu. Etrafta birçok yeme içme yeri vardı. Sintagma Meydanı’na yaklaşık 1 km, Akropolis’e ise 400–500 metre mesafedeydi. Hiçbir sorun yaşamadık, çalışanlar da çok ilgili ve yardımseverdi. Gönül rahatlığıyla tekrar kalınabilir.

Το δωμάτιο το επισκεφθήκαμε το βράδυ , ήταν πολύ καθαρό , και αρκετά ασφαλές . Έχει δύο ασανσέρ , μεγάλο μπάνιο με όλες τις ανέσεις , κουζίνα και ψυγείο , έχει μέχρι και σίδερο . Φθηνό σκεπασμένο parking στην Βαρβάκειο , τρία λεπτά με τα πόδια . Θα το προτιμήσω και πάλι

Ήταν καθαρό και σε πολύ βολική τοποθεσία .

A little noisy in evenings but this is to be expected in such a central location.

Die Lage war super, der Service und dass man seine Privatsphäre hatte, bequem und freundlich - man musste nicht zwingend mit jemandem sprechen Man bekam Empfehlungen, war direkt in der Nähe einer Metro und eines Supermarktes+ generell Restaurants etc.

Man durfte keine Dinge die Toilette runterspülen (wie an vielen Orten in Griechenland) und ein paar Haken für Jacken waren noch nett gewesen

Esta situado muy centrico en una zona con mucho ambiente. La calle del portal no es la mejor pero la zona merece la pena.. Buena comunicación con el establecimiento, recomendaciones y amabilidad. Edificio antiguo por lo que hay ciertas limitaciones (ascensores pequeños, alguno con olor a cañería)

Si llegas de noche la calle es pequeña y rara si llegas con el taxi. No hay problema. Muy céntrico, con metro y zona de ambiente proxima.

Appartement propre, bien équipé, sécurisé et très bien situé ! Nous donnions sur une petite rue donc aucun bruit. La literie était confortable. Les échanges avec l’hôte étaient fluides. Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans cet appartement que nous recommandons sans hésiter !

L'appartement est bien situé au centre d'athènes, accès rapidement à toutes les principales attractions. Un quartier animé avec beaucoup de boutique et restaurant à côté, il se peut que ce soit un peu bruyant la nuit mais on n'a pas trouvé ça gênant. L'appartement est aussi très grand et pratique !

The property overall was good. There is a passcode system at the main door and the room door, so no need to carry keys. The room was very clean and some water was leaft in the fridge, which is appreciated. The rooms are renovated. The manager was very approachable and checked in on me soon after moving in. Despite the 11AM check-out I was able to securely store my stuff on site. The location is also super central and close to main places you would like to travel. The metro line going to the airport is also nerby. I would consider staying again.

The elevator was initially scary but I got used to it, seems to be common to many buildings in Athens. The wifi was sometimes too slow to stream videos so I had to resort to using my data at times. Also the location is quite loud, as expected. There were drunk people sceaming at 5am, but this comes with the very central location. Finally, note that to use hot water you need to press a button and wait for 15 min. The system was simple and reliable, but something to consider.

Très bien situé dans Athènes, permet de tout faire à pied, à proximité immédiate du métro. L'appartement était très propre et accueillant. L'hôtesse était joignable par Whatsapp, très réactive à la moindre question.

Attention, le quartier est très bruyant ! Ce n'est pas un endroit à choisir si vous avez de jeunes enfants qui doivent bien dormir la nuit, la rue est un lieu de fête, jusque tard dans la nuit ! Il n'y a pas de petit déjeuner dans l'établissement, mais beaucoup d'endroits dans le quartier qui sont ouverts dès le matin tôt pour trouver ce qu'il faut.

Location location location! This is the best place for a first or any trip to Athens for that matter! The Acropolis in a 15 min walk and the Monastiraki square and metro station a bare 4-5 min walk and none of it uphill. Step down and there is everything from the choicest of tavernas, bakeries, ice cream places and a buzzing atmosphere. Plaka and all the shops are a short 10 min walk. Falia was phenomenal with her communication and arranged all our airport transfers. Loved our stay!

Great apartment, perfect location! The apartment has everything we needed, and was very comfortable for our stay. It was clean and centrally located. The team was quick to respond to questions and it was easy to get into the apartment. Highly recommend.

The location vas very good. Room was clean and big enough for two people. Neighborhood is busy with bars and restaurants, so it was good that our room was facing inner courtyard and not the front, so it was a bit quieter (some sounds carried from the streets though).

The sounds from the hallway came thought very easy, like the door was paper thin, so you could hear the other quests entering and going. If you are a very light sleeper (like I am), you wake up to these noises. Next to the front door, it would be nice to have a hook on the wall to hang coats and stuff and a mirror would be nice too. There was a mirror inside the hallway closet door, next to the bathroom, but the light was very poor there. Also, the towel hook was missing from the bathroom wall. It would be good to have one there as well to hang the towels.

Location was so central, host and staff were very quick to offer help if needed and check in to see if anything was needed. Apartment was very clean. Lots of space on the apartment.

We arrived early with luggage, and I contacted the hotel. They quickly accommodated us and helped bring our luggage up to a safe place until we were able to check in. The room was ready later, but still early. The room was very spacious and very clean and comfortable. It's location is perfect for those who want to be in the heart of the hustle and bustle of the Psirri neighborhood. There were plenty of restaurants and shops nearby and great access to the metro and other important areas of Athens. We would stay here again given the chance.

Great location with walking distance of the Acropolis area and lots of fun shops and cafes. The hostess was very thorough and attentive as well. We were very comfortable.

Due to its prime location next to Monistiaki square, there was music into the early morning hours below our windows. But we use a white noise app and also had earplugs. So we could sleep.
