Good location. Walkable distance from train station. Bedroom, kitchen and bathroom all good size. Our host was lovely and gave us lots of information about the area. Supermarket and bakery only 5 minutes walk away.

Bed not that comfortable and wish they had a toaster in the kitchen.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location nestled quietly away from the hustle and bustle of Hallstatt. Easy to either take the train or ferry here. Nina the host was very lovely and flexible with bag storage and very helpful in working out my plans whilst I was staying there. Room was clean and homely, no complaints at all!

First the host is one the sweetest I’ve ever hosts I ever met. Not only did she make sure we had everything we needed but she gave us input about the area to have a good time! The apartment was a perfect size for me and 3 of my siblings. It was full equipped with all necessities and more. The location is absolutely perfect!

The view from the balcony is to die for ❤️. The host is very sweet and helped us with tips and tricks to go around in the area. We loved the stay

The bedroom has not ventilation except the roof window which we could not open due to the rains. But they have renovations plans in the near future.

This is just a beautiful hotel. We had a room with a terrace, the view was just amazing. Everything was clean and tidy, very cozy room, there was tea and coffee) . Nina is very nice, she completely explained what we could visit, how we could get to different locations. It was very nice to chat😍✨️🥰🏞 it was a wonderful experience, and in a beautiful place 😘Thank you 😊

We stayed in Obertruan for 3N in late June 2025 as we read that it was still pretty, but quieter and cheaper than Hallstatt. It was an excellent choice indeed! We enjoyed our stay very much at Haus Edelweiss, an apartment with a separate bedroom that was 35 sq.mtrs, very comfortable size for 3. We walked easily from the train station to the apartment. It has a toilet with 3-in-1 shampoo/body/hand liquid gel, a fridge, electric stove, utensils, pots/pans. It has everything you need, everything is new and very clean, totally no dust! Love the coffee capsules and variety of teas provided. Host Nina is very sweet & helpful, taking the time to explain with a map where and how we could go to the places around Obertruan. We spent one day walking from Obertruan to Hallstatt. Along the way, we saw this stone path going up the hill and we went up (very do-able hike), and it led to a very beautiful view of Hallstatt! We then went down the other way and continued walking towards Hallstatt, explored the beautiful village and took the ferry (Euro 12/pax) back to Obertruan. Next day, we walked a loop from Obertruan to Koppenwinlsee. The walk was very lovely and we saw tiny red strawberries everywhere! There was a restaurant after Koppenwinslee but I think it was closed on Mon-Wed (please check), and other days open for lunch & dinner, so time yourself to make it in time for lunch/dinner. We were stopping so often to admire the scenery that we missed their lunch time! It is better to visit during non-summer to enjoy Austria. Also, many of the reasonably priced apartments do not have air-con including Haus Edelweiss, and those we stayed in Innsbruck & Zell Am See. At night the temperature will plunge so it is fine without an aircon, but you might get occasional traffic noise if the apartment is close to the road, so just bring along your ear plugs.

Room are like new Flat, kitchen, wardrobes utensils, kitchen items are new, flat is super clean and vibrant, comforatable and spacious for family or group, from both rooms there is big common balcony, mountain view is excellent even from both the beds. Happy to visit next time, best flat around the area 544 bus, stop is 2 mins walk and next stop in 4 mins you are in hallstat, within in a min you can reach supermarket and nearby information center.

The location and the view were excellent. Just 10-15 away from Hallstat by bus. 5 mins walking from the Obertraun train station. Also its pet friendly.

The host is very friendly and helped us plan our route to Hallstatt. Even though we stayed only for 1 night, we enjoyed our stay very much. The room is a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchenette was sufficient to cook a simple meal. I like the location which is near to a supermarket, a bakery and the train station.

The Apartment was neat and clean. It's near to the Bus stop and railway station (2 to 3 mins walk). The welcoming was good .Nina Simmer explained about nearby attractions and gave good suggestions for the trips. Eye capturing Balcony view and sufficient kitchen utensils are available for self cooking. We really enjoyed the stay and it was full of satisfaction. Thanks to Nina Simmer.

The location not far from hallstat.

The smell of the old wooden. Not really like the smell because all our clothes smell like old wood. Our apartment on the top floor. So a bit struggling to carry all our luggage to the apartment.

The room is very quiet. I was a bit concerned about the train going nearby, but not a bit of noise was heard. The location is perfect, in my opinion it is better than in Hallstatt. The host was nice and helpfull. I would visit again.

Nina was a friendly, welcoming host. The property is in an excellent location for exploring the surrounding area; 5 minute drive to gondola up the mountain and a 30 minute boat crossing over to Hallstatt. Comfortable, well equipped apartment.

A very good location, 5 minutes walk from the train station and 3 mins from the bus station. Nice view from the balcony and a very quiet room. The room had an espresso machine with capsules, cream and tea bags. The bakery and the supermarket are just two minutes walk. Nina was a great host and gave us all the information we needed.

Wifi was very slow and for some reason it didn't work at night. Would've been nice if there was a bar fridge in the room.

The owner of the apartment is a very good and kind person. The apartment is very clean and easy to access. Comfortable wise, this apartment is not too good but it is acceptable. If the owner can include showering items ( showergels and shampoo) that would be good. Overall I can recommend this place

Bed is not much comfortable but it can be managed.Better to have a good one. There is no shower gel or shampoo. Better to include those as well

Good accommodation in beautiful small town of Obertraun. Less than 10min walk to lake side and train station / bus stop. Able to reach Hallstatt in approx 20mins by bus or 30min by boat. Supermarket just around corner. Bathroom was not within room but outside of it but was reserved just for us to use.

Great location with lovely mountain views. Spacious apartment with every thing you need. Supermarket close by and train station a short walk. Hallstätter See is also a short walk from the apartment. Nina was a lovely host and very helpful. I would love to stay here again.

The best room we had in our 10 day Austrian and Italian trip. Spacious, super clean, lovely furniture. Huge bathroom. Awesome view with good size balcony. Perfect to stay if you want to discover Hallstatt. The owner was super friendly and explained everything in detail. Definitely recommended.

The apartment was spacious and very clean, it had everything we needed. Nina is a great host - communication was easy and she gave us tips for our stay. Everything you need is reachable by foot.

The apartment was great, very clean and well equipped. The location was ideal for us. The area offers many things to do. The host was very nice. And the terrace was just awesome.

The bed was very good, the room is spotless, there is tea and hot water and it has a private bathroom (albeit outside the room) but private. I highly recommend the place if the price is right for you.

It is on the third floor (at least the room they gave me) and carrying all the luggage is a bit heavy (There are only stairs). There is no refrigerator or anything to cook something simple, there are no dishes or anything similar. The town supermarket closes early, has very few things and is really expensive

The owner was very helpful, answered all our questions. From bus, train station turn right at the yellow church. Obertraun is very small but the house numbers are confusing. Great stay!

Firstly For 1st timers to Halstatt, it's in Obertraun, across the lake from Old Hallstatt Town. Not Hallstatt. Access was easy, get off at Obertraun Dachstein Station, NOT Hallstatt stop. Then walk 300m to the Haus.  There is a sign there indicating the place, but walk further on.  Travel to Hallstatt is by local bus. Best to set up WhatsApp with the proprietor Nina first to let her know the approximate time you'll be there so that she can be ready for you.  Haus is a home that lets out rooms and apartments, not a hotel.  We had a room. On the 2nd level  “1” in the European context,  as ground floor is “0”. A beautifully finished room recently renovated in a Pine. Huge comfortable bed,  modern bathroom, kettle, coffee maker, coffee n tea provided. No fridge (leave butter & milk outside the window) and no safe. Lovely balcony facing the mountains.  Nina was helpful and friendly,  responding to WhatsApp without us needing to disturb her. Nearby is a bakery and small grocery market which close early.  Overall an excellent place to stay to access Hallstatt and pleasant proprietor.  Thank you Nina.

Bus is the issue. Number 544 and 543 travel to Hallstatt once in an hour, so you need to time yourself properly,  take note that the bus schedule can be early or later,  so allow for that.

Nina welcomed us with warm hospitality into our beautiful room with modern ensuite and lovely Swiss decor. Our balcony had views over the garden looking up to five fingers platform, such a treat for morning coffee using coffee machine provided by Nina. We preferred to stay in the quieter pace of Obertraun and enjoyed the scenic 40 minute walk into Hallstatt, if required its a five minute walk to bus or train station and lovely little bakery. If you are visiting Hallstatt, stay at Haus Edelweiss .. just perfect.

The apartment was well-maintained and had all the necessary amenities. Our host was helpful. The kitchen was also good. This is a traditional Austrian house. A free parking facility is also available. Obertraun was very peaceful and beautiful too. If you are looking for a place to enjoy the beauty of Austria, this is a good place.

The location was close to Hallstatt (5-10 mins drive away). The host was there during our check in and show us the room. Love the neighbourhood of this place too. The family room was equipped with nespresso machine, fridge, oven and utensils for 4 paxs which we were thankful for. There is a bakery shop nearby for (10 mins walk) sells pretty good selections. Supermarket is 5 mins walking distance away from the Haus. You can reach Hallstatt either by Car / train / Boat from here.

The only down side for this place was no lift in the house and we need to carry our luggage up to 3rd floor.

It’s near the train station, grocery and bakery. The place is very clean and Nina was very helpful and accommodating. One of our rooms has an awesome view of the mountains. Such a beautiful place.

The room was very clean and at good location. There was a lady who welcomed us and explained us about the area, food options etc. Also guided us things to visit in Hallstat and car parking conditions.

The owner is friendly. There's a coffee machine and kettle too. The room is very clean. Bring your own toiletries, though. And it's shared toilet, luckily I was the only guest that day.

The location is too far from Hallstatt and transport is very inconvient. The only pizzarie is located very far and you have to walk at least 15mins. Unless there's a need to go Obertraun, stay in Hallstatt Town instead.

For this price this was top quality. The owner is extremely nice and helpful. There was no problem with bringing our dog along which is perfect. Also small things like good quality sheets, parking on site, coffee and tea.

the location is good for bus and train, only about 10-15 min with luggage and 5 min without luggage. The room is extremely comfortable and clean. The balcony is with perfect mountain view for spacing out and relax. Nina's response is quick and helpful. I really enjoyed spending 2 nights at Haus Edelweiss.

It would be better if shampoo and shower gel are provided.
