Reviewed Sep 10, 2026La struttura è in linea con la tipicità del paese: c’è un grande spazio esterno dove poter rilassarsi e godersi il sole. Le camere invece sono molto confortevoli e i letti hanno tante coperte che ti tengono particolarmente caldo, nonostante possa fare un po più freddo la notte. La gentilezza e la disponibilità dei tre host non ha prezzo ed è stato questo a rendere il nostro soggiorno indimenticabile

Me dejaron entrar antes y salir despues para poder bañarme de acuerdo a mi hora de salida. La habitacion esta ambientada estilo campestre muy calida. Hay panel para calefaccionar. Cama comoda. Hay posibilidad de baño privado. Ideal para amantes de los animales, naturaleza y tranquilidad. Viven dos gatas ahi, si no te gustan los animales entonces no es para vos. Sin dudas, voy a volver! Gracias por tanto!

Estaba alejado del centro. Feo barrio. Reservé pieza con baño privado y me dieron compartido. El lavabo afuera, a la intemperie. Decidimos no alojarnos. No observé nada parecido a las fotos promocionadas.

I am very sorry to give such a low review. The hostel itself is nicely decorated and the garden is nice. The bathrooms are okay, could use a little upgrade. The things I was mostly disappointed about was the unprofessional attitude of the volunteers and the lack of space to keep your things. I stayed in a shared dorm, but it appeared that there were only volunteers in the room. Meaning that the room was quite messy and the places where I could put my stuff were fully occupied. I am okay with putting my stuff under the bed, but the volunteer sleeping above me also needed space to put his stuff somewhere. It just got very cluttered. The room just felt messy, and I couldn't relax. The cats are cute, but I don't know if it's a good thing that they are coming into the bedrooms... I have allergies. I don't want to be difficult, so I never complain abouts cats in hostels. But it would be better if they are kept out of the bedrooms, especially during the night.. I love cats, honestly.. but with the mess and the allergies.. I just couldn't relax. One thing you guys really need to look into, please, please, please .. educate the volunteers.. It is not okay that there's a couple staying in one bed, talking until 2 am and kissing. I said something about it and they didn't listen. And then in the morning it started again. I was exhausted. Again, I didn't want to be difficult so I stayed polite. But when I came to breakfast, there was no coffee, and nothing to put onto the bread. And nobody asked when I came into the dining room. After waiting for a bit I eventually asked. But it didn't seem they were in a rush to make sure everything was in order. I slept very bad these 4 nights, when I come back to Humahuaca.. I am sorry, I will not come back to this hostel.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2026Hostal plein de charme un peu à l'écart du centre de Humahuaca. Il y a deux petits chats qui sont vraiment très sociables. Le personnel est adorable. Les parties communes sont très propres (salle de bain et cuisine). Il y a une machine à laver à disposition si besoin. La chambre est propre est spacieuse, il y a un chauffage d'appoint, qui est peu petit s'il fait très froid. Le petit déjeuner est assez simple. Nous avons passé un agréable séjour !

Instalaciones en mal estado, pleno invierno y la forma de calefaccionar es con una pantalla que tuve que pedir otra para poder pasar la noche, entra aire por todos lados, el cielo razo, las ventanas y la puerta. los baños son afuera, y entra aire por todos lados. la pieza y los baños estaban HELADOS, por suerte solo pase una noche, supuestamente el desayuno era muy bueno, me fui antes de probarlo o simplemente verlo porque entre a la cocina y vi un gatito comiendo arriba de la mesada, ni el agua del mate calente. agarre las cosas y me fui directamente al levantarme.

Una durmió conmigo y me encantó jaja Todo muy limpio, la camas muy cómodas. Y muy tranquilo, en la noche mucho silencio.
Que no me pareció tan cerca del todo del centro, sí un poco de la terminal. Y en la noche esa calle se pone muy sola y es oscura.

Lo mejor del lugar: la dueña Adolfa, una hermosa gata que vino a dormir una noche con nosotros. Si sos fan de los animales es el lugar ideal.

Reviewed Sep 16, 2025Sehr nettes Hostel, etwas abseits vom center. Schöner Außenbereich, der vielleicht noch eine Sonnensegel vertragen könnte. Küche hat alles da. Wäscheservice auch gut. Die Katze verhält sich vorbildlich. Gutes Personal. Viele Sitzmöglichkeiten. Gutes WiFi.
Die oberen Betten im 8er Zimmer sind sehr instabil. Man merkt jede Bewegung der Person im unteren Bett. Das könnte man mit einem vertikal angebrachten Brett auf der Rückseite lösen.

La ubicación es lejos de la terminal y lejos del centro. Si vas con mochila, si llegas de noche, el trecho se hace largo. Si vas en auto, esta todo bien. La cocina está muy poco equipada y no está bien, a la altura del resto de las instalaciones. Tuve un problema. Hice dos reservas, la del segundo día me llamaron para decirme que estaba cancelada por un defecto con el sistema con Booking. Eso complicó bastante mis planes. No sé por qué hicieron eso.

Excelente el agua caliente para la ducha y disponibilidad de uso de la cocina compartida todo el día. Mención aparte, el trabajo de las voluntarias es excelente!!! Siempre hay una o dos personas a cualquier hora para asistirte en lo que necesites.
En booking decía que se podía pagar en el hotel a la llegada. Debido a temporada alta me solicitaron el pago del 50% como seña, pero al llegar al hotel, el saldo me lo quisieron cobrar con una diferencia de precio por el cambio de USS a pesos, siendo que al pagar el 50% ya me habían calculado el valor al cambio oficial. Muy confuso todo.

The bathrooms are adjacent to the sleeping area, but very well organized, so that was not a problem. The yard was amazing to chill and work, but only while there was sun - otherwise it would get too cold.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2025This hostel, too, is very deceptive in that Argentinian hostels list their properties on USD terms, but when you get there, they apply an exchange rate that's far favorable to them than a current exchange rate, enabling them to charge travelers more in Argentinian pesos than what was originally displayed in USD on Booking.com. Because this hostel did that to me, I actually ran out of cash and had to run to a money exchange to get last minute Argentinian pesos despite my leaving for Bolivia soon after this. I really hate Argentinians. I have traveled throughout the country and had very bad experiences at many places, and now confidently say that they really are bad people and it's extremely difficult to find honest Argentinians. Just as they keep defaulting on national debts, Argentinians are very irresponsible and I would never ever want to go back or have anything to do with them.

Reviewed Jun 12, 2025We really enjoyed our stay at Mestiza Hostal! Less than a 10 minute walk from the bus station and we felt at home immediately. Our room was spacious yet cosy and the hostel itself is really pretty (I especially liked the courtyard). The staff were excellent, especially Camila and we loved hanging out with the resident cats.
They only accept cash payment, but this wasn’t a problem as we knew in advance and could get the money out!
