L'emplacement

Nous avions réservé pour 3 nuits, petits déjeuners compris. La veille au soir de notre arrivée, nous recevons un mail nous informant que les dates de séjour ont été décalées d'une journée (et ne correspondent plus à nos dates de séjour dans la ville). Opération réalisée sans notre accord préalable. Le gérant est injoignable jusqu'au lendemain midi, jour initial de notre arrivée. Il nous annonce qu'il n'a pas de place pour nous et qu'il ne peut pas annuler la réservation. Nous modifions à nos frais les dates pour ne rester que 2 nuits à House Andalous, et nous nous retrouvons donc sans logement le jour de notre arrivée à Fès. Le jour de notre arrivée au logement, le check in se passe bien. Dans la nuit, à 3h du matin, nous recevons un message de Mehdi qui nous informe que nous n'aurons pas de petit déjeuner lors de notre séjour... Sans plus d'explications ni de proposition de solution. Et, à nouveau, pas d'excuses. Nous devons à nouveau être à l'initiative de proposer qu'il nous dédommage pour les petits déjeuners, payés dans la réservation, et qu'il n'est pas en mesure de fournir. En conclusion, nous nous sommes sentis lésés et avons ressenti un réel manque de considération, ce qui ne nous laissera pas un bon souvenir de l'établissement.

Beautiful house, newly renovated in the typical Morocco style. Room was spacious with an attached bathroom. Breakfast tasted very good.

When we arrived our room was not ready (rubbish still there, stains on the bed, dirty basin). We agreed that it would be cleaned by 8pm, but when we came back around 9pm, nothing changed except the emptied rubbish. Although he said that he would be there shortly, we had to wait for over an hour until the owner arrived and had to discuss again about it being cleaned and the sheets changed. He then gave us new sheets and cleaned the basin with the toilet brush... Except that incident we enjoyed our stay afterwards.

The host Mehdi contacted me earlier when the room with private room was not available and refunded the price difference. The hot shower is good! There is a kitchen and a terrace with sun.

Fantastic host

Excellent place to stay in Fes medina at a great price, in the middle of the charming Quartier des Andalous (calmer and more authentic while close to the touristic spots). The dar is run by Mehdi and his mother, who are really kind and welcoming, and will really make you feel at home. Rooms are clean and spacious, there's hot/cold AC, a lovely terrace and breakfast is amazing.

I cannot recall anything I disliked.

L’esperienza è stata fantastica Mehdi e la sua mamma sono due persone eccezionali e l’accoglienza è super calorosa, Mehdi si è mostrato disponibile anche per informazioni e favori al di là del soggiorno! Il Riad è magnifico, le stanze pulite, il patio ha una luce divina e il terrazzino per la colazione è confortevole e gode di una vista sulla città. Loro sono davvero fantastiche persone e gli vogliamo bene❤️ Baci da Alice e Stefano

House Andalous is placed in the center of the old medina. The location is perfect, safe streets, surrounded by all the monuments of Fez. The vue from the terrace is surreal you see the charm of Fez and the mountains surrounding it. The place is clean, calm, you can sleep peacefully. My bed was comfortable, the shower clean and warm. Mehdi made my stay here impeccable, a respectful gentleman, he helped me with great recommendations of what to do in Fez and where to go. Very communicative, arranged a great taxi ride from and to the airport. Just perfect honestly. You can clearly see that this family business is made with the priority for care and wellbeing of the visitors. One of my best stays so far! Highly recommended.

Le petit déjeuner était très bon et le service très sympathique. La dame était très gentille. Mehdi a pu également nous proposer une location de voiture très pratique. Le logement au cœur de la médina reste bien situé.

Les douches partagées sur le palier, le confort des lits et l'équipement très rustique. Le froid de fin décembre n'a pas aidé.

L’emplacement, la propreté, la terrasse avec vue sur la médina, le petit déjeuner (excellent!!!) et enfin la gentillesse des hôtes. Merci ✨

House alandalous es el sitio perfecto para alojarse, fatiha y su hijo son los mejores y nos han hecho sentirnos como en casa todo el tiempo. Cualquier cosa que necesitábamos estaban ahí para ayudar, el desayuno que nos preparaban todos los días era magnífico. Les damos un 10 por ser tan simpáticos con nosotros y tratarnos tan bien. Volveremos sin duda. Gracias.

L'emplacement est pas évident, y a un parking mais c'est mieux de vous faire guider par l'hôte car il est très serviable.

My family and I really loved our stay in Fès. It was our first time ever in Morocco, and Mehdi was incredibly helpful. He connected us with a tour guide for our first day, which let us see many things we would have missed otherwise. The Riad is beautiful, clean, and in an excellent location — right across from the Andalusian Mosque and about a 10 minute walk from Seffarine Square, the tanneries, and many incredible markets. Every morning, Fatiha, the chef, prepared an amazing meal, as well as mint tea and coffee. She is one of the sweetest, funniest people around. We also had dinner at the riad one night, which was, unsurprisingly, delicious. We are vegetarian, and Fatiha was very accommodating. Some of our favorite moments were just sitting and drinking tea on the patio. One more general thing, not related to our stay - We had some trouble on arrival. Our plane was delayed and we ended up landing at 1:30 in the morning, which caused some trouble with the transport we’d arranged. As long as you aren’t trying to show up in the middle of the night, though, all should be good. Mehdi still went above and beyond in order to sort everything out, and wound up staying up until we arrived. And then drove us to the airport for our departure. He couldn't have been more helpful and kind - highly recommend House Andalous!

Conveniently located close to the Medina. Friendly and helpful owner. Free parking, 5 minutes walk, but in the afternoon it's hard to find a parking space and you have to pay the parking guy anyway.

I didn't get the reserved room because, I was told, it was already booked. However, strangely, I was the only tourist in the guesthouse. The room is missing a wardrobe or some shelves. Street noise until after midnight.

The owner was an incredibly kind and helpful person. He was so accommodating and attentive. We miss this beautiful and charming place and highly recommend anyone stay here. Location is convenient and safe. Very cozy place with character and local aesthetics.

It was a wonderful Riad in the Medina 🇲🇦 and the Host Medhi and his Mother was very friendly and the Food was very Delicious ❤🥰 . It was a Beautiful Welcome in Morocco and i would stay there anytime . 5 Stars .

One of the best places and experiences I had in Morocco. The hostel is beautiful and the located great in the heart of the Medina of Fes. The staff is great. Mehdi was so hospitable and so accommodating. The breakfast (aside from being delicious) was a lot ! And enough to keep you full for the whole day. The terrace is beautiful. Bathroom was always clean and room is very comfortable. VERY RECOMMENDED! And definitely will be staying there again next time I'm in Fes

Excellent value for money: the service at House Andalous is amazing! I think I never felt more special as a guest at a hotel or riad. Thank you so much for your hospitality! The location is fantastic, a 10+, right in the heart of the Medina of Fes. Very special! We didn’t experience any noise disturbance. It is right next to a mosque, so no need for an alarm clock ;) Communication was smooth, and we were warmly welcomed with Moroccan tea and cookies. The owner, Fatima, is a very kind woman. After our warm welcome, we relaxed for a bit and had delicious dinner (€39 for 2 people) on the rooftop terrace. It was very delicious, and we really enjoyed it. Fatima and Mehdi made it a special moment by playing some music and hanging up beautiful lights. The next day we had a lovely breakfast. It was extensive and not as overly sweet as in other places (it even had some vegetables and fruit). Afterward, we relaxed on the rooftop terrace, enjoying several cups of tea with cookies and coffee on the house. Fatima even chatted with us, which was very pleasant. It made us feel very welcome. Mehdi printed our flight tickets for us, which was very helpful! And Fatima offered to wash our clothes. The shared bathroom was clean, no complaints. There was a slight mix-up with our reservation, but it was handled properly. My boyfriend and I had booked a four-person room with separate beds due to the price, but we were also offered the option to have a double bed at no extra cost, which was very sweet!

We had arranged with Mehdi beforehand that he would take us to the airport for €25. We had agreed on 7:15 am and that we would get breakfast to go. He said a friend would drive us. We were okay with it as long as he was on time since 7:15 was already a bit tight. However, it got later when we walked to the car, and we didn’t get breakfast, and then we had to wait for over half an hour for his friend, which was stressful. Fortunately, Mehdi stayed with us. In the end, the friend didn’t drop us off at the kiss-and-ride area but a bit before, so we had to walk (run) a bit more. Maybe this was a one-time thing, but I would recommend leaving plenty of time for your airport transfer from House Andalous. So it was not a very nice ending of our trip to Fez. However, this is separate from how great our stay at the accommodation was.

I absolutely loved my stay at House Andalois! The room was incredibly comfortable, I slept like a baby every night. Located in a great spot within the Medina, it was the perfect base for exploring. Mehdi and his mom were amazing hosts, taking such great care of me throughout my stay. The warm welcome and the daily breakfasts were truly delightful. While the toilet is shared, it’s spotless and very well-maintained, so it wasn’t an issue at all. I would highly recommend this place to all travelers looking for a cozy, authentic experience in the Medina.

We had a lovely stay in House Andalous! Very good service and hospitality from Mehdi, the host. Breakfast was great and he even proposed to prepare for us a home-cooked dinner on our last night on the rooftop terrace, with accompanied music. The place is also very well located, in the middle of the medina near to Bab R'cif. Would definitely recommend!
