Kahoy Cottages

Its quite and near caticugan sanctuary and port

Very clean, great stuff. Location is good although not in the center.

The water pressure in the shower is very weak.

I had a superb stay at Kahoy Cottages and would thoroughly recommend it. The rooms were very traditional, spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable, and appreciated the attention to detail e.g earplugs provided which has not happened anywhere else on my Philippines travels. The communal area is great with ample space to relax, internet was great for me to do some admin. Breakfast was excellent and very reasonably priced, loved the homemade yoghurt and granola. Located near Catacugan marine sanctuary which was beautiful for snorkelling! A short scooter ride to restaurants and bars in the evening. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Amazing service. Beautiful place, wide and spacious. The owners and workers are amazing and very attentive, we had no issues. Great breakfast

Can be noisy at night, difficult for light sleepers

Lovely individual cottage . Very authentic. Nicely spaced out. Quiet. Clean and comfortable. Helpful and friendly staff

Nothing .

So beautiful and peaceful. Really clean rooms and facilities. Perfect location and easy to rent a motor.

Lovely little cottage with plenty of room.

It was pretty far away from everything, also the WiFi was sometimes good, sometimes bad in the cottage.

Rien

We loved how secure and safe it was. We loved how peaceful it was. The staff were all so friendly and every day they cleaned our room so well! Coffee and water refill whenever we wanted!

Nice comfortable cottage

Close to the jetty but the location is ok

Nichts

It's in a gated area with a fire pit and leisure room. Also there is a small bar on site and comes with unlimited tea. Very cozy and clean and the bathroom is very big.

There was no mosquitoe nets in the bathroom area windows up above.

The location is in a very local area, close to a wild beach if you want to explore, the cottages are very nice and new, simple but with all what you need. Nice common area where you can chill, and lovely staff.

Nothing here to remark.

The cottages are well situated not far from the port and San Juan in a quite trafficless area so no noisy scooter. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable! Loved the outside shower. The common area was very comfy and the breakfast was very good too. Everyone was very friendly :)

The only negative thing that we could say about the cottage are the roosters and dogs at night and early in the morning but it’s part of the Philippino experience!

We had a lovely stay at Kahoy Cottages, they have such a beautiful and spacious property with only a few cottages. It was tranquil and great for stargazing. Down the road is the Caticugan Marine Sanctuary, where we snorkelled with a guide and saw a lot of fish and giant corals - an absolute must if you're in Siquijor! The owners were really nice and the staff were super friendly. Breakfast options were good. The bed is on the hard side, but doable for 3 nights. The wifi was great for remote working too. It's close enough to bars and restaurants, especially if you have a motorbike; otherwise, they're super helpful with arranging local transport for you.

The staff were very welcoming , it was so clean and so peaceful

The staff and owners were very helpful

The only problem I had was the power losses (brown-outs) this had nothing to do with resort but due to lost electricity was uncomfortable to stay or sleep.

absolut tolles Zimmer & sehr hilfreiches Personal

Lage erfordert Roller oder Tuktuk-Driver, beides verursacht Mehrkosten

Personal top und sehr zuvorkommend. Zimmer sehr schön und stylisch. Sehr bequemes Bett!!

staff was super friendly and breakfast was very good 👍

Enjoyed my stay, staff and owners were very accomodating. Highly recommend this very tranquil short stay option.

I didnt realize no TV but it was a welcome interlude not to have one, wifi could always be a better but servicable

Fris, nieuw, schoon, huiselijk, ruim!

Great place to be! Enjoyed it a lot especially it's very comfy here.

If you want to get food, you kinda need a bike for it... Optional you order food by delivery.

Beautiful cottages, delicious breakfast and lovely people who work and run it.

Whilst it’s beautiful and peaceful, it’s a slight drive from restaurants.

Thoroughly enjoyed staying in this beautiful cottage for two nights. Our stay was comfortable & facilitated, with helpful staff on hand.

Just the feel of the place was so lovely from the breakfast (have started making the same brekkie at home) to the rooms and the staff. 10/10 recommend, a great place to rent a moped and see the beautiful island that is Siquijor

No notes, great stay

Its spacious, clean and just what u need when traveling. The offer very nice breakfast at the property and you can get a few drinks

the cottages are very well built, super clean and you have all you need! staff was very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was great (loved the homemade yoghurt🙏🏼♥️). theres a lot of space all arround, the trees&bushes still seem young, when they will be bigger, it will be even more beautiful! It‘s 10Mins from the Pier and about 20Mins to San Juan.

Nights can get quite noisy with Animals arround - but they offer earplugs:) It‘s a bit out of the way, you need a scooter.

Really cool design, really clean and comfortable. Staff were really helpful and accommodating

Bit noisy at night but earplugs provided

Such a lovely experience definitely a nice chilled atmosphere after being in a busy town before hand

I couldn’t think of one negative thing everyone was friendly

The cottages are nice -no air con in the wooden ones-, staff is nice, breakfast is good. But location is very isolated, restaurants are 5 to 7 kms away. Of course you can solve that with a scooter. But driving a scooter when you have no experience is dangerous (i did that once, amd broke my elbow !). So you can still solve that by local tricycles but going out for lunch or dinner ends you paying more for the 2 trips in tricycle that food itself. So be sure you are comfortable driving a scooter otherwise dont stay here, stay in San Juan area.

Very clean tidy cottage and friendly helpful staff.

Good environment! And the pancak breakfast was so yum 😋

Non

Staff, bedding, the little chalet is super cute and clean.

The lack of ac. The fan is crazy noisy so you need to choose between hot or noise. Also my room wasn't cleaned during the day, it s always nice to come back to a cleaned room.

Very welcoming and helpful staff, the place is well organised and comfy. Motorbike ((which is necessary) can be rented easily. Good restaurants a few minutes away.

A little noisy in the morning due to nearby roosters by the hotel is supplying earplugs, so it is fine

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful, clean, and newly built accommodation with a charming room and a very nice outdoor bathroom. It was very clean and 100% comfortable with everything you need. It was also possible to have breakfast in the accommodation which was very tasty. What truly made it stand out were the incredibly kind staff and owners, as well as the stunning grounds and the outdoor communal spaces that were perfect for relaxing. They even went the extra mile for my birthday, arranging flowers and a garland, which was such a thoughtful touch.

There’s nothing negative to mention; the location is great, though it’s not directly on the main street of Siquijor (about a 10-15 minute scooter ride), which didn’t bother us at all but may be important for others.

The owners are very helpful and friendly. Everything is super clean and new. Nice place if you don't like crowds and tourist spots. You would need a scooter for sure, but it’s easy to rent it at the reception. Breakfast is good! Be ready for roosters and other village sounds. But it makes it special. Feel the vibe of rural Philippines ☺️

The cottage was extremely clean and comfortable, and the location is nice and peaceful. Staff were really friendly and the breakfast is lovely!

Not a complaint but you do need a motorbike if you stay here / to explore the island in general.

The welcoming environment and the good vibe. Very clean

There was no AC

very clean and very filipino style

Staff and property is really clean. Fast wifi, you can work anywhere.

It’s a bit far from the tourist spots.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful accommodation in Siquijor! The hosts were incredibly friendly, warm, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. Their dedication and thoughtfulness were evident in every detail of the property, from the pristine cleanliness to the well-organized facilities. The place exudes care and commitment, making it a perfect haven for travelers. The atmosphere was peaceful, and you could feel the genuine passion the hosts have for creating a welcoming and comfortable space. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Siquijor – we would love to come back!

These cottages on Siquijor are exceptionally well-built, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. The attention to detail in the design is evident, from the modern open bathroom to the serene surroundings. The peaceful atmosphere and excellent service make it an ideal place to relax and unwind. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a quality stay on the island!

Nothing really.

Secluded and lovely!

Simply amazing. The staff were so welcoming and nice ! The location is good but you need a scooter to go to main places (you need a scooter to visit the island anyway). I asked them a scooter before arriving and everything was ready for me when I arrived, what a service ! They were also really nice to book a taxi for me for the departure. The cottage was really beautiful, everything was perfectly clean and I couldn’t chose a better place to stay. There’s no AC but the fan was way enough for me. I did not take the breakfast there but it’s possible to take it. I really recommend this place ! If I ever come back in Siquijor I will 100% go to Kahoy Cottage again.

Ed and Rachel were great hosts and made us feel at home, we enjoyed chatting to them and hearing their top tips! The room was beautifully decorated and met all of our needs. The breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, only a short scooter ride from San Juan, in a quiet neighbourhood. Ed also went out of his way to help us when we needed him!

Nothing!

Rachel and Ed went above and beyond to ensure we were not only comfortable during our stay, but had a great time in Siquijor too. Ed drove us around to find the last bike available for hire (we visited over Easter so was busy), Rachel made us tasty breakfasts in the morning and saved us when we didn't have enough cash for the tuktuk on arrival, and they were both always around for a chat and to ask questions. The miniguide of Siquijor they had created was also really well put together, and took the stress out of planning things to do. The cottages Ed has built are beautifully designed - yes, there is no AC, but the high ceilings and amakan walls make the rooms lovely a breezy even when hot. The bathroom was probably my favourite feature - perfect mix of outdoor living but enclosed enough that you didn't feel like you were exposed to all the elements of nature. Earplugs are provided for light sleepers, but I didn't find the area to be that noisy with animals compared to other places we stayed. I would say my best nights sleep in the Philippines were at Kahoy Cottages!! The location is the perfect distance from restaurants, beaches, etc. but far enough away that you could escape for some quiet. You will need a bike to get around, but that is standard for anywhere in Siquijor. I also liked that there is a marine sanctuary a short walk away, where you can go snorkeling and see lots of cool marine life. I would absolutely return here if I ever find myself in Siquijor again. The place is already great and I can't wait to see it grow as the business grows - all the best and THANK YOU Rachel and Ed!!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cottages are run by a young Welsh couple and they only opened in Jan 2024 so everything is new, clean and really good quality. Perfect for a peaceful stay in a cute cottage.

Nothing! NB there's no air con but there's a big ceiling fan which is effective.

The hosts are a lovely family who were very accommodating to our needs. They were able to recommend food spots, island events and attractions for our trip. The also arranged scooter hire for us which was greatly appreciated. A lot of effort has been made by the hosts to create a welcoming atmosphere. A fresh, homemade breakfast can be served for a reasonable price and it is delicious. The room was cosy and bathroom facilities were good (no issues with shower pressure and hot water, unlike other accommodations we have visited).

The location is far from the more touristy attractions on the island, but this is not a problem if you hire a scooter. I feel this is a problem you would find with most accommodations as things are spread out over the island.

We had a great few days here! The huts are big and really well constructed, the bathroom is semi outdoor but no issue with bugs/lizards etc. and everything was super clean. The location is slightly out of the way, so recommend getting a bike as tuktuk’s were quite pricey. You can buy breakfast at the hostel and there is a bar open until 10pm with a chill area and darts board. There is also free water refill which is a big plus!

Be aware that there is no air con in the rooms. There is a good ceiling fan over the bed which keeps you cool at night but it could be an issue if the weather is super hot

We stayed at Kahoy Cottages 2 Nights. Everything is super clean and new. The cottages are stylish furnished and we loved all the small details. Thanks to Rachel, Ed and their little daughter Freida. They gave us really good recommendations for things to do and great places to eat. They build a fence around their land so that no stray dogs and cats could enter. That was really good, cause somtimes there are just so many of them. We wish them all the best, course they just recently opened the place. Breakfast and most of them the homemade Joghurt is awesome. Go there, you’ll love it! Julia & Julian

Adorable cottages with great facilitates and very comfortable. Hosts helped us with getting a scooter which was very handy.

Bit out of the way for restaurants and beaches. Backs onto more rural areas and roosters were very loud from 5am-onwards.

Really nice cottages, especially the bathroom. Drinks available and they do a great breakfast option.

Everything was perfect for our stay here. Owners were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious! Room was lovely and comfortable with a cute Balinese-style bathroom.

Lovely helpful hosts Pretty and comfy cabins Very decent wifi Good location, calm and quiet (10 min from san juan) Just good value for money!

It’s was very clean, very well lit, with a big comfy bed. All the places are detached so you don’t hear other guests which makes for a very peaceful stay.

Honestly nothing. The property itself was great a testimony to Ed’s carpentry and site managing skills. Both Ed and Rachel were accommodating and generous with their time.

We had a fantastic stay here. The cottages were super cute with extra comfy beds. We loved the bathroom with the outdoor shower. Our information pack in the room on arrival was helpful and the hosts were lovely people who were happy to help with recommendations for food, drinks and our amazing trip to see the turtles at Apo Island 🐢. We will 100% be back to Siquijor and will be staying here again. Thanks for an awesome stay Kahoy Cottages 😁.

Everything! The couple that run the place are so welcoming and friendly and will do anything for you! They sourced a scooter for me at a very good price and even drove me there to pick it up. They even picked us up from the boat and dropped us to the cottage, and made us a lovely breakfast in the morning! The cottage itself was super comfortable with an outdoor bathroom which was filled with all the toiletries you need and looked like brand new. All in all, great place to stay, highly recommend to anyone going to Siquijor!

Nothing.
