Hive Townhouse

Location, design, cleanliness and comfort. Breakfast was really good with pleasant and efficient staff. The room was beautifully designed and very well equipped. The complementary minibar was a very pleasant surprise.

It didn't have parking, but this didn't prove to be a problem as we were able to park nearby for free. The road layout proved a challenge as some were closed for resurfacing.

Stay to short

This is our second stay here. Beautifully furnished rooms with some little treats 😍. Location is stunning looking out onto harbour. Aberaron is a special place for me - i first went 60 years ago as a newborn baby and I return every year if possible. The hive is my favourite place to stay. Breakfast is amazing. Staff are lovely. Thank you too for posting an item back to me that I left behind.

This is one of the best places I have stayed and I've travelled all over the world. The accommodation was exceptional. Very modern, very clean, all the extra touches- free mini bar, snacks, charger cable, high quality toiletries, free ice cream vouchers- it was also very central with pleasant views. If I could rate it more than 10 out of 10 I would!

Luxe kamer, goede ligging. Mooie restaurants rondom en top hiking mogelijkheden. We hadden een “ verkeerde” kamer gekregen maar dat hebben ze top opgelost. Mini bar faciliteiten gratis maar belangrijker gewoon goed.

Very modern, comfortable, clean accommodation with parking outside on the street and close to all the facilities. WE had one minor hitch that was dealt with by the housekeeper. But otherwise no complaints.

Might have been nice if the staff in the restaurant opposite could offer a small welcome pack given they have not great interest in the accommodation. Which is not to say that they were not helpful - they were fine. But they had not great relationship with the accommodation, so naturally their 'welcome' was not as it would be with say a B&B. So, that could be improved by offering a welcome back when picking up the key.

We loved our room, the decor and quality of products was such a high standards. We appreciated the welcome snacks and generous. The free ice creams were enjoyed too. The ambiance of the room, from the high quality furnishings, Nkuku accessories and tasteful decor were all excellent. We would recommend staying here. Breakfast was also enjoyed, friendly and attentive service,

It was extremely comfortable, every detail was thought of to make for a fabulous two night stay. I particularly liked the copper bath in the bedroom. So lovely

Restaurant was great but very good local competition

The property is in a fantastic location overlooking the harbour in Aberaeron. The rooms are spacious ,very well appointed and spotlessly clean. Of particular note was the helpfulness of the staff who went over and beyond to make our stay comfortable. This extended to making every effort to secure a travel cot which we had forgotten to bring. Excellent dinner and breakfast in The Hive Restaurant.

We had ground floor rooms and one of them had sash windows you could only open upwards so you couldn’t really leave any ventilation at night as security issue. The fridge gave out quite a lot of heat so the room was stuffy and hot at night.

The room was beautiful and had everything we needed. The view was amazing with a harbour and sea view.

Room & its facilities were excellent.

Due to an extractor failure in the kitchen, breakfast & subsequently dinner offerings were well below expectations. Disappointing that this wasn’t flagged in advance or at least on check in. However as we were visiting friends this was able to be worked around.

Loved the bedroom, although it was 2nd floor - we are in our 80’s - staff carried case up 👍

For breakfast you have to go over the road - ok when dry! When we arrived for breakfast it was busy with very young staff working - we were told there were no poached eggs due to aparatus in the kichen broken

The breakfast was a bit disappointing would have loved poached eggs but could only have fried.

Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff were always helpful and mostly bilingual. The dining experience in the restaurant is one I would recommend - the fish options were particularly good.

No car parking at the property so had to use the public car park more often than not (£7.00 for 24 hrs), which was about 100 yards away.

Fantastic breakfast good value for money and location was great and staff very helpful and Friendly Now we stay there over the harbour master in future

An exceptional property-beautifully designed room with so many extras! A lot of thought has been given in the design of this room. Great bathroom-stylish with wonderful shower and toiletries. Mini bar and snack were great and complimentary. Breakfast was excellent in their restaurant opposite. We also had a really good meal there in the evening. Great location-loved the town.

The location right on the harbour . Spotlessly clean with comfy bed and lovely shower in bathroom The breakfasts were lovingly cooked and presented in a nice setting and all of the staff were friendly and polite. From the cleaner to the laundry man and meeting one of the owners on the final morning all went out of their way to make this holiday very special !

Breakfast was excellent in terms of the quality of the food and its taste. Staff were friendly and helpful. The Hive was a great location for breakfast. Room was well equipped and very clean. Some nice touchers in terms of icecream tokens.

1. The wait for the food was significantly longer than expected and I had to ask the staff where our food was. 2. no air conditioning and the room was very warm. We needed extra fans to cool the room.

Beautiful room. Spotlessly clean & lots of extras that made it. They have thought of everything you might need & more. Felt like a real treat to stay here. Best hotel in Aberaeron. Free honey ice cream was a lovely touch!

Hard to say as was exceptionally good

Fabulous quality and location amazing, lovely touches like free icecream… and breakfast was out of this world. Every member of staff was so lovely and they could converse with us in our native Welsh language which was so welcome and pleasing. Diolch yn fawr.

The location is stunning if you like being near water. It feels like you’re in a ship. The Danish breakfast banquet was really good quality and there was so much. It’s all very tasteful, relaxed and comfortable.

When we arrived there was no acknowledgment of us entering. The staff were dealing with other things, but a ‘hello, be with you soon’ would have been preferable - as soon as we said we had a reservation it was lovely.

The location was fabulous. The room was gorgeous and they left treats and tokens for a free icecream. The breakfast in the morning across the road was delicious. It had everything you’d need and was super central with lovely views. We had a room on the ground floor and even tho it was busy outside the slatted blinds worked a treat and it was quiet at night time.

There’s nothing we didn’t like about the property except the milk left in the fridge wasn’t fresh but we bought milk with us so just used it.

We weren’t keen on the bath in the room but others might like it. The en-suite bathroom was good.

Very well appointed rooms. Slick and stylish with everything you could need for a great stay. Everything is top class. You are provided with robes and fluffy slippers and a complimentary mini bar with beers, water, milk and soft drinks. There is even a ghd hairdryer and a handy steamer for your clothes. The breakfasts at The Hive across the road are excellent and so is the honey icecream.

Very welcoming and accommodating. Couldn't ask for any more amenities in room. Maybe they should say they have shampoo and conditioner and cream so to save me taking own as was high quality. Really clean and food in breakfast and icecream fantastic. Very generous free fridge and tea coffe facilities. Just a really amazing experience thanks x

Good quiet LOCATION. Very clean throughout with very well designed and furnished room. Great bathroom.

Coming down the stairs from the top floor to the first floor, the last step is less high than the others. I tripped over this the first time. I tripped the second time and then noticed the reason. The front door is also about 5 feet 9 inches, so if you’re taller than that, you bang your head on the top of the door frame.

Wonderful location, close to everything. Very good quality furnishings and lovely breakfasts in the Hive cafe.

Lacked a little space, needed more clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Needed more coat hangers in the room and hangers in the bathroom etc. restaurant meals a bit hit and miss depending on what you chose from the menus.

Amazing experience would 100% stay again. The room and bathroom was amazing. Lovely additional touches like free minibar and icecreams.

Would be amazing if there was air conditioning as we stayed during the heatwave.

the bed was very uncomfortable haven't slept for two nights , could hear people open and closing doors all night, first morning staff were lovely when we went for breakfast second morning different staff waiter was rude and was banging putt cups down , I asked for a coffee and orange juice she wouldn't give me a juice

It was a touch noisy due to the location with people and cars - however it’s a quiet for traffic , hard wood floors meant you heard anyone heavy footed above you. All things you can look past.

Great location, lovely rooms , comfy beds, great bathroom, very clean - just across the road from the Hive restaurant which did fab breakfasts. Complementary drinks and snacks were a nice touch plus a free token for the Honey icecream parlour! Everyone enjoyed their stay here - would highly recommend.

Hive Town House was the best possible accommodation. Everything was thoughtfully planned and beautifully furnished. The staff were wonderful and breakfast and dinner at the Hive restaurant, opposite the house, was a bonus.

We had a downstairs corner room & it was very noisy both evenings - we felt like we were in a goldfish bowl, we could hear lots of conversations outside the window until quite late ! But because it was very hot when we arrived we opened all the windows so that didn’t help ( & turned off the radiator in bathroom )

The room was very clean, modern and well equipped. The location was an ideal base to explorie Aberearon and the surrounding areas.Breakfast is served in the Hive bar restaurant which is situated across the road from the Town House. The breakfast was very good as was the dinner that we ate there during our stay.

The room is advertised as having a sea view but it doesn’t. Whilst this did not detract from our stay we did pay extra for a room with a sea view.

What an exceptional stay at the hive townhouse. A little bit of luxury in Aberaeron. The little free token to get an ice-cream from the hive across the road what a lovely touch. The room was spotless and so beautifully decorated. Highly recommended.

Excellent location, truly wonderful accommodation- it had absolutely everything you’d want. The room is of really high quality and beautifully designed - comfy bed, sea views (from Belle Vue room), digital radio, fridge, beers, soft drinks, hairdryer, steamer for clothes, spare usb cables, coffee machine, snacks, beautiful bath, lovely shower. And a fresh strawberry and cream birthday cake as we were celebrating our birthdays - lovely surprise! Breakfast was fantastic and staff couldn’t be more attentive. Highly recommended!

Amazing place to stay the pictures and description do not do this place justice. Rooms were amazing, so cozy with all the amenities one could need. The breakfast was also superb!

Spotlessly clean, gorgeous room, lovely additions such as complimentary drinks and snacks. We were upgraded as it was the last night of our honeymoon and had a bottle of Prosecco and a card which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was outstanding!

It did get slightly warm in the night but there is a fan provided which was ideal!
