Coachman Motel

A comfortable and quiet retreat for the night after a long day of driving. Room was clean and spacious. Staff were very helpful and responsive around late arrival.

On a cold night, the heater was never quite able to heat the entire space.

It was clean and cheap. Facilities were basic but adequate. The unit was warm and Sky TV reception was good.

The motel is approx 3 kilometers out of town, which was slightly inconvenient. The decor was very dated and faded, and the double bed was uncomfortable.

We needed a warm comfy bed and hot shower as a stopover on a long car trip. There was a good quiet heater and the bed was comfortable and warm. Parking outside your door. Codebox for the key so we didn’t connect with anyone. We would recommend the Countryman restaurant for delicious Chinese food.

Unfortunately I have stitches in my shoulder and back so needed a hand held shower head instead of a fixed one. I had a good wash once the water came hot. It will get hot with a little patience. The bathroom floor was very cold underfoot (July).

Comfortable, clean room. Had everything l needed for a one night stay. Got an email regarding how to retrieve the key from the lock box. Was quite simple. Thought the road sound would be a problem but it was fine.

I wanted to adterpay at the property for $133. The machine would not accept afterpay(The property does accept afterpay). I had to book online which cost me an extra $30 I explained that to the staff but they didn't care. Won't go back

Spacious studio, really comfy large bed. Checked in late after driving and gone early. Shower really good water flow.

No remote for the tv in the bedroom only the sky remote couldn’t turn the tv on.

It was so clean. An older motel but so well cared for.

Spa bath looked old, looked like the filter never been clean. The place has had nothing updated since 2014 when we were first there. Window cills had not been dusted, dead flies on it.I asked girl at front desk if there was any milk, she didnt understand what i was saying. Even when i asked for towels, , she stood there stunned.

Chose motel as a one night stopover only on the way home on a road trip. Able to sort out getting key easily as we were arriving late. Comfortable and spacious enough for the amount of time we were there.

Facilities such as toaster etc for breakfast but no sink with bench and had to get water from the bathroom sink. Would be difficult to wash dishes etc if staying longer

The price for one night could have have come down 15-20% at least, as I was a solo traveller and didn't need a family room. But in saying all that, I would come back with my small family next time.

The staff were helpful and the location was handy. There was an ironing board and an iron in the cupboard, which was very useful. TV was nice and simple to operate.

The mattress was comfortable enough, but very sensitive to any movement, so every time one of us shifted even slightly, the other was disturbed. The otherwise lovely walk-in shower sent some of its water along the floor, which resulted in a soaked bathmat. Neither of these a huge deal, but a bit annoying.

If you have a Motel, it is the bed that ultimately sells the room, and a worn out uncomfortable bed is always remembered. Dare I say more !

The motel was easy to find it was right at the very end of Taihape on the northern end

Comfortable bed, provision of crockery, cutlery, microwave. Easy highway stop - relatively quiet. Very helpful and friendly management.

Easy place to crash for the night

Location was a bit noisy but I knew that it would be like that anyway. The room and bathroom were immaculately clean.

The shingle in the carparking area was very difficult to move about in my wheelchair.

Immaculately clean, accessible room. Great bed. Lily was helpful. Communication was very easy.

I struggled with my wheelchair when it came to moving about on the shingle in the parking area. I knew the motel was close to the main road and the rail way but it didn't bother me.

It would be good to have a small kitchenette if the motel is renovated at some point.

I found the property to be ancient and the owner/receptionist actually rude. But i have learned something that being I will never go back there and inform all who ask to give it a big miss.I

A comfortable overnight en-route from Wellington to Rotorua. Motel is older but everything very clean and well presented.

Not for light sleepers due to road noise but ear plugs sorted that for me.

We did not like the fact that there was no one at reception on arrival. Also a spa was advertised and we could not find it.

Little hard to fill the kettle from the bathroom sink. But nothing a cup or glass to tip water in wouldn’t solve. Bit of traffic noise, understandable as on main road, but not enough to keep us awake.

Lovely and clean , big props to the cleaners couldn't fault the cleanliness. Lovely staff , heater was on in room before our arrival. Great value for money basic but perfect for our needs . Shower was the best shower I've had this trip pressure was fantastic!

We stayed to attend a tangihanga at our local Marae, knowing that we would be there all day, we returned each evening to a cosy and warm room... the little things was meaningful after a long 5 days. Thank you!!

Being a very cold day, the heater was on prior to our arrival. The shower was amazing.
