Great haven on my way north. All the little things thought of, very clean and the hospitality was exceptional. I made the comment some 5 star hotels don’t have the little extras - mint and green tea, chocolates, make up wipes. Great job. Thank you!

Car parking awkward

Amazing place to stop and break up a trip north from Wellington, everything was perfect for us and the breakfast was delicious, highly recommend.

Very lovely host, delicious breakfast. It was perfect for an overnight stay. Parking possible on the yard. Apartment looked very nicely decorated and in perfect shape.

There is a steep and narrow staircase as the apartment is in the attic, a large suitcase might be hard to carry up. This is the only negative point i can name.

The hosts were very helpful and informative. Jolanda was very friendly. The facilities were fantastic. The breakfast was great. The room was nice and warm and well appointed. The BnB part of the Dux is very nice.

Unfortunately the location is not the best. Being on SH1 and near the main trunk line made quite a bit of road and rail noise. That is likely to be the same for all accommodation in Taihape. Stairs are quite narrow and steep so I do not recommend this place for people with limited mobility.

Jolanda and Daniel were very welcoming people. The unit was lovely and clean and we'll stocked. Would definitely recommend it to anyone stopping in Taihape. The local Pub does a great steak meal and Brown Sugar Cafe is very good for lunch or coffee.

The stairs going up to our unit we're a little step.

Our second time staying here and it is always lovely and highly recommended. Really cosy, and a lot of care and effort has been put into the details to ensure one's stay is nice. And the lovely breakfast was really appreciated!

A beautiful bnb run by a lovely family. Facilities were gorgeous. Delicious Brekky offered. Also catered for our 4 yr old grandson with some toys. Thank you so much

The DuxHouse BnB has an amazing ambiance and being there is a perfect opportunity to feel New Zeland's rustic vibes - you can see sheep and chickens out of your balcony! We enjoyed the breakfast prepared by the host and cozy terrace for an evening glass of wine. The room is spacious and well equipped, we highly recommend this place!

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Our host, Jolanda was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Her breakfast’s were great and much appreciated.

Private unit with own entrance and a private terrace. Very comfortable, clean and with a little kitchenette (fridge, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities etc). Very friendly and helpful owner. Excellent value for money!

Bien situé pour une étape entre Wellington et Taupo dans une localité rurale et typique. C'est un vrai B&B avec un petit déjeuner que Jolanda vous apporte dans la chambre. Accueil très sympathique, au calme malgré la proximité de la route.

We absolutely loved our stay here. From the moment we arrived, everything was perfect. Jolanda is an exceptional host and truly went above and beyond for us. After a long journey from the South Island, it was such a comfort to arrive to a warm, cosy room with the key ready for check-in. Jolanda was incredibly thoughtful and welcoming, asking us in advance what we would like for breakfast and what time suited us, and then providing the most delicious and generous breakfast. The accommodation itself was spotless, comfortable, and very well maintained, with a lovely, homely atmosphere that made us feel instantly relaxed.

Nothing at all – everything was perfect.

Perfect stopover, refresh and unwind after the Tongariro crossing. Place exceeded everything we imagined. Perfect private space, comfy bed, good showers. The place is gorgeously set out with character and personality. Cute mindfulness books, and set out with the theme to relax and reset. Breakfast in bed was a massive perk and also adjusted to suit my dietary needs- I love, wish we stayed longer!

Breakfast was great and location was handy to the town centre. Excelleent hosts this exceeded many motels which we have stayed at. Very friendly host and only too happy to please. Great shower.

Loved every bit of it, lovely little bnb, host was amazing, travelling with a 4 week year old son, host was responsive to our needs, she made it easier for our stay!! Breakfast was yumm!! Even offered to help do our laundry, service couldn’t have been better. Will definitely be booking back in if we need a place to stay in Taihape!! Will recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay the night!!

Not a place for people with mobility issues. The stairs to the room are precipitous. Not a fabulous outlook, although the hosts had gone to some lengths to ameliorate that.

Quite near a busy road.

The shower was the best, the bed was comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and the whole experience was wonderful.

The stairs are very steep but everything else was lovely.

Very comfortable pit stop on our way to Wellington. The owners were lovely and welcoming and provided great information about the town. My scrambled eggs were excellent.

The traffic was a bit noisy but was expected as it is along the highway. I didn’t have an issue and slept soundly but my partner found it hard to sleep.

Jolanda was super helpful and responsive. She left us a card and a small bottle of wine to celebrate our anniversary. She shared a great local app for trail information too. The place was lovely, clean and made us feel like at home away from home. It's quite great to stay one night after my Tongariro hike at this wonderful place before we head down South.

Jolanda greeted us and showed us the room. She gave recommendations for an evening meal and we had a chinese takeaway although there was a pub and other food outlets close by. We had a lovely breakfast cooked by Jolanda in the morning.

Perfect for a one night stop. Comfortable bed, small kitchen , tv and super shower. Really enjoyed the home cooked breakfast too.

The room is nice, clean and cozy and has everything in it. There’s a nice balcony too where you can relax. The hostess is super nice and friendly and will give you ideas what to do in the area. We had a lovely day there and recommended the place.

There’s a rather steep staircase of 10-12 stairs to the room. It was ok for us but good to know in advance.

Lovely accommodation in Taihape. Jolanda was a brilliant host and gave us all the information we needed about Taihape and where to go for dinner. A bonus was getting breakfast in the morning - bacon & eggs or porridge. Delicious.

Duxbnb was a great place to stay for several nights whilst exploring the area. We stayed for 3 nights and could happily stay for longer. The room was extremely welcoming and comfortable and we had everything we could need. It was spotlessly clean and in a good location on the edge of town, only an hours drive from Tongariro or Whanganui. Breakfast was delicious and the hosts very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Stairs very steep and tread narrow. Property is located on State highway so be prepared for rumbling trucks throughout the night - if you're a light sleeper bring ear plugs. The breakfast was simple.

Jolanda is a considerate and welcoming host. The accommodation is very nicely presented and clean as a whistle with a lot of thoughtful touches. Much cosier and better value than the average motel!

Taihape is short on mid-week dining options. Pick up a takeaway or bring your own food to heat in the microwave.

DuxHouse BnB is such a sweet accomodation with lots of heart. It is very thoughtfully decorated and exudes a peaceful atmosphere. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were delicious and in the fridge we found some little chocolate surprises. Very comfortable bed and the shower was great as well.

We arrived on a cold night, having driven the Desert Road, and the place was so warm and cosy; along with a friendly welcome from our host, Jolanda The accomodation had everything we needed, a great shower and the cooked breakfast was a nice bonus.
