The property was very nice, quiet and private. It had everything we needed including kitchen facilities and even a washing machine. The owners were very nice, friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Setting,location,house
Lovely views over the sea, great breakfast, easy secure parking. Lovely walk along Beach or road to local pubs and restaurants.
Quite old fashioned and musty. Needs some modernisation. Okay for a night.
Location wonderful as one can swim in the calm safe waters from the garden. A swim , followed by a hot shower before breakfast was super. Fine gravel in the shallow access area so swimming shoes useful. The house is a pleasant walk from Knightstown (1km approx) along by the sea with lovely views.
The house and garden are quirky, interesting and have lots of character . Breakfast has a couple of cereal options; juice; natural yoghurt with berries to start. The cooked breakfast to follow can include sausage; rashers; white and black pudding; hash brown; baked beans with a choice of fried or scrambled eggs. The mattress protector is of the waterproof variety which some may find clammy.
What’s not to like? The house is beautiful and keeps its original charm. The room was very comfortable and my wife and I could sit in our chairs in the room and look over the water. Has easy beach access. The breakfast was the absolute best! They are very accommodating and put out an awesome Irish breakfast. Staff is wonderful. We felt lucky we stumbled on this place and the island! Hidden Irish jewel.
Nothing.
Friendly reception, nice breakfast and great atmosphere!
Valentia Island is magical itself. The best description of the island and the guesthouse is "them olden good times". Reenglass House is a historical mansion, maintained at the perfection level! There is a living room and a dining room downstairs. The breakfast is freshly cooked and delicious! There is a shared refrigerator in the dining room as well. The room was comfortable. We had a private bathroom across the corridor (another hint of them olden good times): we actually liked it very much! Outside: a convenient car park. Private access to the beach. A nice bench behind a huge tree where we spent a long time watching the strait. A playground. Even a sauna if anyone needed one. The host Kieran was the best person! Immediately upon our arrival, he offered coffee then took me to the map and explained what was worth to see in the area (he actually explained the Skellig Ring drive). He recommended local restaurants on the island and on the mainland (and mentioned we needed an early reservation there!) He also lent us an electric kettle. There is one thing I need to warn you about: the TV does not work there. "Them olden good times", remember? Reenglass House was one of the best places I could stay at in my travelling life!
Fantastic week spent at Reenglass house
Absolutely loved our stay here. The house has an authentic and rugged feel. The bed was the comfiest I've ever slept in! The house being in the shore is a highlight and a 10 minute beautiful walk to the town. Would recommend and definitely stay again!
Nothing!
Such a beautiful location- really pretty, nestled in by the trees and stunning sea views. Beautiful rooms with so much character
Nothing to note
Casa affacciata sul mare con splendida vista. Proprietari gentilissimi.
Loved the view from the room right over the water it was stunning, a grand old mansion that has been converted into a B&B. The location was excellent and we enjoyed walking into Knightstown and doing the Cullen trail
The shower was very low pressure which wasn’t ideal and with many of the old houses the bathroom isn’t attached however knowing our bathroom was private was fine. The breakfast was adequate and set us up for the day.
An incredible relaxing experience at the Reenglas House. The property was the highlight of the trip. Incredibly gorgeous and peaceful to stay in. Direct shoreline access, which I'd recommend to walk down or back to the town.
It was a hidden gem. You could sit all day and look out on the water. Kieran greeted us in a very friendly manner. He gave us tips on where to eat.
Lovely little B&B, located right by the sea. The host Kieran was very accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was good. We were only there for a night, but might come again some time.
Beautiful location. A lovely step back in time. A lovely country house, its faded grandeur welcomes you and wraps you in its warmth. Our room (No.4) was lovely and spacious, good size king bed, nice bedding. There was an extra armchair and couch in the room, which was a nice touch and very relaxing. Lovely sitting/drawing room to read or watch tv in - comfy chairs. Best bit of all - direct access to the sea from the garden… just perfect.
Maybe an option to make a cup of tea or coffee either in our room or downstairs might have been nice.
What a treasure! Beautiful house on a beautiful location, just. 15 minute walk from a small town with a restaurant and a pub. Friendly host, comfortable room, delicious breakfast, a little beach. Couldn’t have asked for more.
We wished we could’ve stayed longer.
Loved the location and we were totally comfortable. Very relaxed and helpful owner and staff.
Location, the room we were allocated, great breakfast and super relaxed host.
Nothing
The location and room
The location, the history of the place, the owner, the room, bathroom and the breakfast. It was like staying with family. We were also given good advice about where to eat and where to go.
Can't think of anything right now.
The breakfast was top notch, the best we had on our three week vacation! The host is very friendly and informative. The small village is lovely with good restaurants and very nice to walk to from the house.
The only negative thing I can think of and I really should've just mentioned it to the host, was that the shower isn't enclosed and the marble floor get quite wet with nothing to dry it except for the bath towels. We had to walk through a wet and slippery floor to get to the toilet. A squeegee with a long handle would completely take care of that little problem.
Location was lovely .The place has great potentiel .It's an old house located on seafront .The room was clean ,beds nice and comfortable .
No breakfast menu .when we asked what we could have we were told mushrooms and tomatoes . I had to ask if we could have scrambled egg and bacon which we got and was nice . There was a very unappealing bowl of fruit on offer on the sideboard .it didnt look fresh. I also had informed the owner I was coeliac but no effort was made to provide gluten free cereal however there was gluten free bread .Small touches would make bigger impact on guests staying here . Bathmath for the floor was very old and worn and shower could have done with a shower curtain . All small things but can make a big difference to overall experience .. I appreciate the owners are finding their feet in providing accomadation and this place in time could be great .
Beautiful house on a serene and lovely part of the island, peace and quiet and a wonderful location with a great breakfast in an old manor home. Fantastic view of the water and mountains!
The landscape was astonishing, the room was beautiful. The staff were lovely & the breakfast hit the spot exactly. The house is a 13minute walk from Knightstown & the resident pets are both sweethearts.
If we were to pick literally anything, it would be that the combined headboard & bedside stands had a tendency to make a bit of noise when you'd suddenly lean against it in bed. Very, very small critique
This is a beautiful home set on a very special location. The host is very friendly, can give you loads of local information and is a very good cook too!
We had a fabulous stay and the only thing I can think of that could be improved, and I should have just mentioned this to the owner, was it would be handy to put a squeegee in the bathroom we used because the shower is open next to the toilet and the floor gets wet and quite slippery if you don't throw towels down. This was a super minor issue!!
Quite, views, breakfast selection, parking, comfortable furniture
All was fine
Beautiful old house with unique decor in the rooms, that fits the house perfectly. Lovely location on the small Valentia Island. Only 15 min walking distance to a few restaurant options. Beautiful views from the rooms. The owner was very welcoming and super friendly. He lives on site. Due to few bookings that night he gave us the best room, which was super nice of him. The room was super spacious and also the bathroom was quite big. Bathroom seemed to be recently renovated. Fridge in the room. Beds were comfortable and surroundings super relaxing. Communication was always easy and fast. Breakfast was good. Can only highly recommend and hope to return soon for a longer time! :) Super cute and very social cat was an extra plus for me.
Nothing at all!
Magnificent location, wonderfully peaceful. Kieran made us feel very welcome, and served a very good breakfast. An old house with plenty of character.
The bathroom is not en suite, but just across the corridor so no problem. No TV in the room, which I wouldn't have minded any other night but there was a football match I would have liked to see ...
Tolles herrschaftliches Haus, liebevoll eingerichtet mit eigener, kleinen Badestelle
We loved everything about Reenglass House. It exceeded our expectiations. It is a beautiful, old house that is located on the waters edge. We were in a gorgeous room overlooking the bay. The breakfast in the morning was a fry and set us up for the day. We were visiting for a wedding and the house was so close to Knightstown and the church where the marriage took place.

The property was in a very peaceful spot right next to the water ! Lovely views !
Old style house in great beach location
Breakfast was great, full Irish made to order plus cereals, fruit, coffee, etc. gluten free toast available on request. Darren was lovely to talk to and treated us very well. Location is excellent with access to the beach and some outstanding cedar trees on the property. Parking on site.
Not much. If I had to say something I would say the pillow was pretty tough. Might be nice to have a softer option available. Also note that (at least our room) didn’t have a connected bathroom. While still private and dedicated to our room exclusively, it was across the hall.
Also tapfer nachfragen :D
Bella vista fronte mare e camera abbastanza spaziosa.
It has loads of character, a nice atmosphere. It was warm and comfortable. The owner was very helpful and attentive. He made us feel welcome. The breakfast was great! Great location for boat to Skellig Michael.
Everything was really good
We felt incredibly comfortable at Kieran's. It was the best accommodation we had during our trip to Ireland, as everything was perfect for us. The garden with its large, old trees and direct beach access (including a guinea fowl) was incredibly peaceful. We loved our room with its lovely bay window, comfortable reading chair, and integrated sink. A surprising bonus was the separate bathroom; it was bright, the shower was fantastic, and the separation was surprisingly pleasant. The host himself was very helpful, friendly, and a pleasure to chat with. All in all, a wonderful place to stay.

Stunning old house full of genuine unpretentious character and history. Gardens and location were so beautiful peaceful and atmospheric. The host was friendly and helpful. Double bed very comfy and cosy. Breakfast was really good nicely cooked and friendly polite service. Amazing find.
The second bed in our 2 bed bedroom was a bit disappointing as it was in a tiled room right next to the bathroom and the blind let light in.
It’s not clear from the reviews I saw, but the property is walking distance to at least one good restaurant/pub in Knightstown, and a charming seafood restaurant/pub across the water (take the ferry). Kieran was an amazing host and helped us out of two awkward jams. I won’t say what they were because that kind of help should never be an expectation! But overall it felt like staying at a friend’s really really (really) nice place.
beautiful building and garden

Old charming house with sea view and a nice host !
A little lack of water pressure in the shower
Friendly helpful staff
Nichts!
An absolutely gorgeous spot on the water. The house has real charm and the host was very accommodating.
The room was so large, and the view incredible but there were some small areas that could have gone over with a little more detail. None of it mattered though as the bed was so comfy and the house felt so welcoming
The house was so gorgeous! In such a nice, wooded area and right by the sea. My room was so large and comfortable and the furnishings were really unique. 10000/10 stars for the bed. The dining room in the morning had such beautiful light coming in and a view of the sea. And the service was excellent. I arrived a bit later than expected and was welcome in warmly.
The only thing -- and it's my own doing, not even the accommodation -- was not giving myself time to get in the sea beyond the house and use the little sauna in the back garden!
Location was too good with private beach and garden.
It's was an old building so we felt it's super cold even when the heater is ON.
Beautiful property, so peaceful, loved our stay.
Breakfast was delicious. The house & grounds, on beach were outstanding!
Location, beach right in front of the b&b.
Not much variety in Breakfast.
Staff were wonderful, everything was perfect and I would go again.
Great 2-night stay at Reenglas House. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious, and the hosts were very welcoming. Perfect, quiet location. Highly recommended!
The owner was massively accommodating even when I messed up my booking dates. A lovely step back in time, breakfast was great and the view amazing. Good value (we were slightly off season) but a great base for exploring the ring of Kerry.
The location was a quiet rustic place in Ireland. The host was most exceptional and accommodating, and the sunrise in the morning was beautiful. The facility has an exceptionally old tree in the yard, which is certainly worth taking a photo of when you’re there.
There really wasn’t anything to dislike about the place. We had a very pleasant stay with the host being most accommodating.
A gorgeous location, right on the beach, where we were able to walk to a lovely pub/restaurant for the best bowl of seafood chowder we ever had. The accommodations were spacious, the bed very comfortable, the breakfast delicious, and the host, very kind. We really enjoyed staying here!
Friendly helpful host, great property with stunning views. Was peaceful and rejuvenating stay, great location for exploring the island.

Large, historical house on island. Superb view of water from bedroom. Fantastic hosts, and very comfortable bed.
No TV a minor complaint.
The breakfast was delicious, I had a full Irish breakfast both mornings and everything was cooked perfectly. The view from the dining room was incredible. The bed was really comfortable and the shower was lovely. Reenglas house is in a wonderful location.
I was very happy with my stay here. It’s location was one of the main reasons I chose to stay here and it certainly didn’t disappoint. It was a little on the cold side, but I didn’t mind that as most places are far too warm these days.
