Scandinavian lakeside cottage

Perfectly located just outside of Rovaniemi. The pictures don’t really do it justice - the views were phenomenal and the cabin itself was perfect and cosy. The owners were very responsive and they prepared the cold plunge and sauna for us.

Skandinavische Ausstattung (alles liebevoll, gemütlich, sauber). An alles gedacht! Die Lage ist einmalig mit einer Saune und dem Seezugang. Besser kann man Lappland nicht aufsaugen!

The cottage was amazing! We had high expectations, but this place and the host exceeded them. Everything was clean and beautiful. The view from the cottage was amazing, especially in the morning. The location is magical and offers possibilities for activities like snowshoeing and aurora watching. The host was very helpful with advice, and the traditional sauna experience was beautiful. I highly recommend this place !

We loved the peacefulness of the location, never heard quite like it. The cottage was extremely clean and the hosts was in touch to see if we needed anything. 100% recommend the cottage.

Exceptional kindness and hospitality at this beautiful property, the setting was stunning and we had absolutely everything we needed, we were so close to the centre of everything but enjoyed fabulous solitude here away from the city lights, we loved the sauna and ice dip and the owners were beyond kind, coming out on two occasions to examine the frozen lake for some ice fishing and lighting the sauna for us. The cabin was immaculate and very comfortable, thank you for making our first trip to Finland so special.

De cottage was mooi, precies zoals op de foto's. Het was gezellig ingericht. Alles was perfect. De omgeving rustig en het mooie uitzicht op het meer. De verhuurster kwam gelijk toen wij een vraag hadden. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. We hadden geen betere overnachting kunnen hebben. Bedankt.

A fabulous location on the lake about 20 minutes by car from the Santa Village. Property has a private lake access for ice dipping and sauna. Owners had left treats for us on arrival and also on the night we chose to use the sauna and brave the frozen lake! Lovely touch. Well equipped and cosy property for using as a base or taking a bit of time off grid. As a family of 4 we LOVED it!

This property is amazing. The hosts thought of everything. Communication is a breeze. By the way, they are on Instagram too! You really have to see all the beautiful photos. The indoor decorations were like a Christmas fairy tale. The heart warming welcome gloggi drink, plate of chocolates and “heater” and lights - you know you are in for a good time. The cabin heating was good, hot water and water pressure were enough for us a family of 4. The kitchen was fully equipped and well stocked too, we felt bad taking so much of the snacks the hosts placed there :) The beds were good for us (we were 2 adults and 2 children of 9 and 12) We didn’t get to use the patio much but it was so cute with reindeer skins laid on the 2 lounge chairs - it was so cold the reindeer skin actually froze. You can park right outside your cabin door too, makes it so convenient in the cold weather. The roads leading there were easy to navigate too with simple gps. Driving to Santa Claus village and rovaniemi city for grocery and meals was straight forward, scenic and so easy as there was so little traffic on the roads. The hosts were so kind to come down to open up the ice bath (and it’s part of the expansive lake!!!) with their equipments and also set up a campfire for us to do our bbq and talked to us one night. They also provided us with toboggans and they dug a slide into the snow slope for us on the spot ! You could tell they really take care of their cottage and they want you to enjoy your time there. Their hospitality was first class. They continued to provide us with information of best food around the area etc via WhatsApp too! We also managed to see reindeers right behind our cottage - we were so so lucky We were too hasty to experience the northern lights and made plans for northern light chase and went all the way into Sweden.

We didn’t stay long enough. We need to work hard to come back again.

Die Lage, das Cottage mit privater Sauna. Wunderschön. Es liegt idyllisch an einem See gelegen in ruhiger Umgebung. Wir kommen definitv immer wieder!!

Amazing and beautiful cabin in an idyllic location with views across the frozen lake. It is well equipped with everything you need. The host was extremely helpful and friendly. Would 100% recommend staying here.

Beautifully designed, immaculate and well appointed cabin with large windows overlooking a large frozen lake. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful stay.

Das Cottage an sich ist schon unfassbar schön. Sehr gemütlich und stilvoll eingerichtet mit allem, was man benötigt. Das Cottage in Zusammenschau mit der Lage ist außerordentlich schön. Es ist in mitten der Natur, kaum Nachbarn, kein Straßen- oder Stadtlärm. Auf dem zugefrorenen See direkt vor der Tür kann man abseits der Stadt die Nordlichter beobachten. Nach Rovaniemi fährt man mit dem Auto ca 15 Minuten über wunderschöne Straßen.
