Reviewed Sep 7, 2026huge room with bathroom and sofa space. this is a really good 3 star hotel - don't expect luxury and treats - what you get is super clean, well provisioned and very reasonably priced. minutes walk from Native Burger and the cafe at the old library which are both brilliant. breakfast options are full English veggie or meat and you can choose items the night before. nicely cooked and lovely service. if you're going to give tick options the night before so people can't make a choice in the morning, why not allow everyone to choose up to 5 items - i.e. i could have had 2 eggs plus 2 portions of mushroom and a tomato instead of hashbrowns etc. Free parking (albeit you have to register your reg plate). staff are exceptionally nice.
no plain yoghurt or fruit bowl at breakfast.

Location was on a busy road and turning into the carpark was a bit tight. Breakfast options were limited if you didn't want a cooked breakfast.

Staff welcoming...single room clean bathroom huge all needs met. Breakfast...had what I requested quick service..met my individual need with no hesitation ie oat milk and how I wanted my breakfast. The restaurant in evening was superb 3 course meal...wow..absolutely divine. All staff welcoming efficient and friendly. It had car park and also hotel was in fab location and just a short walk to town and bodmin jail. I wish I could of stayed longer.

A little disappointed at being 'downgraded' from my initial room to another one in order to accommodate a problem and allow someone else to have the room. Would have been nice to have received some sort of acknowledgment for agreeing to this, but not really an issue. One observation re breakfast - the poached eggs seemed 'tasteless' to me; don't think I've ever had an egg like them.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026Friendly helpful staff and food. The room and bathroom were very clean. The bed was very comfortable with extra pillows if needed... Pillows are important to me! You could open window to let air in which was great too. Also quiet. Had a really good sleep.
Only two minor things... Light switches. You couldn't turn reading lamps off from bed and no electric socket by bed. Secondly when you opened bathroom door it covered bathroom light switch..🤭 Apart from this, and it's not much it was really excellent 👍

Reviewed May 14, 2026The building is old, but refreshed and perfectly clean. My room has a new bathroom with a shower. The room was cosy, additional bedding and a blanket were available. The bed was comfortable, nice and fresh. The radiator works fine (thank you, the night was cold!), which made me very happy. The staff is helpful and friendly. Important: very good WIFI free of charge.
The English breakfast was rather symbolic and not tasty, cooked in oil instead of being fried, but I do not complain; the overall experience was great.

The full English Breakfast was of high quality and was a decent size. Had previous dining plans, however there is an in-house restaurant, which had a great Asian menu.

Arrived on Sunday to find out that we had to find somewhere else to eat as no dining-room or bar on a Sunday. Shower was in poor order but once a new hose and handset installed it made all the difference. Unfortunately, we were at the end of the hot water line so took ages to get any hot water and if anyone else had a shower we lost the water for a couple of minutes - not ideal when you are just about to rinse your hair

No lunch provision or bar until 5pm when restaurant opens which I hadn't realised - there are local places to eat. It would be really useful if somebody wasn't from the area to be given some suggestions for lunch
