A beautiful place to relax and enjoy nature. It has everything you need, including filtered drinking water, binoculars, and a map with all the information you need, such as restaurants that deliver. The bathtub on the balcony is of course a huge bonus and really the cherry on top. Friendly hosts as well.

The breakfast is fine, but you simply get whatever Maria has prepared that day. There aren’t many options, especially considering the price you are paying for your stay.

This place is a dream! We loved every second of our stay in Sunset Serenata. The views are incredible, there are binoculars provided for birdwatching and this is the best place to watch them, we saw so many 4 toucans, loads of macaws and hummingbirds and many more. The bathtub on the balcony is a touch, we watched sunset every evening from it. Breakfast is wonderful, we had french toast and arepa and eggs - Maria is an excellent cook! We loved her homemade spicy sauce as well. Don't be put off by the distance from town, we walked into town and back everyday, its a pleasant walk. We also did a chocolate tour and went to the waterfalls which are all walking distance. The kitchen facilities are perfect and there is a water filtration system, endless coffee and you can make food in the evening. Shower and bathtub had constant hot water we never ran out. The bed was the comfiest we had slept in all trip! There is amazing attention to detail here! A really credit to Theo and his team.

Le logement est très confortable, bien équipé, la cuisine fonctionne bien, la vue est magnifique (on a observé pleins d'oiseaux différents depuis la terrasse). Le petit déjeuner est très bon. Possibilité d'acheter des boissons (vin et bière) sur place. Un vrai enchantement !

Best stay of our Colombian trip. House has everything you need, and is very well thought of. A bit far from center, but definitely worth it. Could not recommend it more.

Het is een magische plek om te verblijven. De locatie van het huis is werkelijk uniek, midden in de natuur en rust. Het uitzicht is echt fantastisch en de host had ons ook een verrekijker gegeven waarmee we een hoop verschillende vogels hebben gezien, zoals de Arara ( Macaw ) en de Toekan. Het was ons hoogtepunt van de vakantie en de host was erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk. Ze gaven ons een hoop tips waardoor ons verblijf nog beter was!

De stroom viel af en toe uit, waardoor we even zonder electriciteit zaten. Hier kon de host niks aan doen. Ze hadden wel een backup generator die ze steeds zo snel mogelijk hadden aangezet zodra de stroom uitviel.

Atemberaubende Aussicht & ist für Verhältnisse in Minca gut erreichbar. Man kann Tucane beobachten. Zudem sind die Gastgeber sehr lieb.

Superbe vue sur la forêt et Santa Marta en fond. Très calme. Livret d oiseaux et une paire de jumelle à disposition. Maison propre et bien équipée. Baignoire agreable sur le balcon. Intimité assurée. Un vrai moment de repos. Hôte très disponible si besoin. Tarifs corrects (via leur contact) pour Tayrona ou aéroport de Sta Marta. Personnels rencontrés très sympathiques.

Un peu loin de Minca (25 min à pieds) avec 100 derniers mètres tres pentus. Faut bien s organiser car les aller/retour moto ou 4x4 reviennent assez chers. Obligation de descendre sur Minca pour faire des randonnées ou activités. Perit déjeuner bon, meriterait un jus de fruit frais. (Il se prend dans une petite maison à 100m) Manque un balais pour la terrasse

Es war eine der schönsten Unterkünfte die wir je hatten. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und das Frühstück war sehr lecker. Wir konnten eine super Aussicht geniessen und richtig entspannen. Wir können diese Unterkunft sehr empfehlen.

Everything was great

Toda la acomodación de la habitación era perfecta y la vista en el balcón fue lo mejor. La ubicación es perfecta, está a 30 minutos de minca a pie y está muy cerca del observatorio de aves. Desde el balcon puedes ver muchas especies de aves. Para alguien que quiera realizar esta práctica, es un lugar ideal.

El desayuno estuvo bien, pero creo que para el precio, podría ser un poco mejor.

La canapé lit qui est inadapté pour un adulte, ce point n’est pas mentionné dans l’annonce Le chemin pour accéder au logement est vraiment très compliqué, 1,8 km d’un chemin très abîmé et avec un pourcentage très élevé. L’accès au logement est très physique, sinon 80000 Cop en 4x4 pour y accéder, ce qui est hors de prix

Un lieu absolument incroyable ! Et cela se mérite. La villa est en hauteur, il faut compter 35 min à pied depuis le village ou 15 min en moto taxi mais ça en vaut la peine. Nous avons eu la chance de séjourner dans ce lieu et nous avons été ébloui par les couchers de soleil. La villa est magnifique et tout est à disposition pour se sentir chez soi. Le propriétaire ainsi que Maria sont adorables, ils nous ont fournis plein de recommandations pour passer un super séjour à Minca. Maria nous a fait d’excellents petits déjeuners et s’est bien occupés de nous. Nous aurions aimé rester plus longtemps dans ce lieu magnifique.

Most amazing views and birds. Such a quiet setting to relax. Maria and Mervin were excellent hosts, breakfasts amazing. The views were breathtaking. A bit out of the town which was nice. Can get food delivered if desired. Lots of great hikes and waterfalls around. Jefferson driver did a great job of getting us up and down the difficult track.

Nothing, everything was amazing. It can get very hot on the decking in the afternoon and there www no umbrella for shade during this time so the apartment could do with a little shade on the decking during this time.

Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Apartments sind toll, die Lage in den Bergen ist wunderbar, die Familie vor Ort ist wahnsinnig nett. Wir haben die Anfahrt und Abfahrt mit dem empfohlenen Fahrern organisiert. Alles lief wie am Schnürchen, das würde ich jedem empfehlen. Es gab Trinkwasser und Kaffee in den Apartments, das war sehr gut.

Das Bett war für unsere Verhältnisse +185 cm etwas kurz.

Beautiful property with the best views we've ever had of toucans! Hot shower (not as common as we thought it would be in Colombia!), gorgeous views, tasty breakfast, the air conditioning works very well with a very comfortable temperature inside. They offer a laundry service that is better priced than other accommodations we've stayed at in Colombia.

My only negatives were: - there is a dog that constantly comes onto the balcony and follows you down to breakfast. The dog is constantly scratching itself so I don't know if it has fleas or some skin disease but it made us not want to sit on the chairs/touch the dog (which is sad because it was constantly coming up to us wanting to be pet) - Also fair warning -- we mostly used this space to relax and recharge after doing a multi-day trek so we did not venture into Minca much. If you are wanting to do a lot of things in Minca, this accommodation is a bit of a distance and does require either a long uphill walk to get back from town or does require a 4x4 taxi. - We liked the food delivery options but they are understandably not as cheap as if you were in a more central location. - There are limited grocery options in Minca (only tiendas, no major supermarkets) so be aware of that as well if you are wanting to cook for yourself in the property. Despite all of this, for us the positives vastly outweighed the negatives and we would 100% stay here again.

Alles was 10/10. De privé cabins (er zijn er 2, vrijwel identiek) hebben geweldig uitzicht, een heerlijke tub op het terras, geweldig bed, lekkere airco en veel ruimte. Theo is een geweldige gastheer en helpt met alles. We verbleven hier 4 nachten en dat was echt een hoogtepunt van onze reis.

Het is vrij ver van Minca zelf. De wandeling duurt een half uur, of je kunt met Motortaxi. Wij wisselden die 2 af. De buurt is veilig maar je loopt 's avonds wel in het donker terug.

Nous avons simplement tout aimé. Le logement est très bien équipé, la vue est époustouflante . Nous avons observé les oiseaux de notre balcon. Le petit-déjeuner est servi sur une terrasse entouré d’une végétation magnifique et d’oiseaux. Merci à Maria pour les petit-déjeuners délicieux et merci à Melvin pour son l’œil de lynx pour nous montrer des oiseaux.

Magnifique logement, sûrement l'un des meilleurs que nous avons eu durant notre voyage en Colombie. Rien que pour la vue déjà, donnant sur toute la vallée jusqu'à Santa Marta. Le grand balcon permet d'observer de beau lever de soleil et de nombreux oiseaux, dont des Toucans. L'appartement est très propre, bien équipé avec un lit confortable et une grande cuisine pratique. Il y a un réservoir d'eau, ce qui est pratique puisque nous sommes loin des supermarchés. La salle de bain avec sa fenêtre donnant sur la forêt est superbe (et avec eau chaude). Et en plus, les hôtes sont un couple très accueillant, pleins de bons conseils. Le petit déjeuner servis chaque matin est aussi succulent. Bref, un énorme coup de coeur.

Après avoir coulé le jaccuzzi un soir, nous n'avions malheureusement plus d'eau chaude à la douche le lendemain. Mais vu la chaleur ce n'était pas un problème !

Le logement est très bien équipé et en très bon état. La vue est splendide, c’est vraiment une super expérience si vous vous voulez dormir au milieu de la nature.

Accessible uniquement en mototaxi ou 4x4 style jeep car la route est dans un sale état (mais ce n’est pas de la faute du propriétaire c’est plus un commentaire général)

Tranquil spot with fabulous views and no neighbours at all. There’s all you need there (apart from a hairdryer) to hide away from the world for a few days and immerse yourself in nature. The moto taxi ride up was hairy but great fun and works well from the village. It’s a 20 min walk to the village and it’s a tough walk back so do use the food delivery which was brilliant. Theo was super helpful and Maria cooked us a huge breakfast. We weren’t offered a choice so best to let them know if you have any particular needs. Lots of local info at the house and the outside bath was a real novelty.

Un petit écrin de beauté au milieu de nulle part dans la forêt avec des toucans. Des propriétaires trés à l'écoute de nos besoins. Une reactivité a toute épreuve, il a fallu quitter la cabane en urgence pour des soucis de santé et Théo a été très réactif.

Maria und Mervin sind sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Kommunikation mit Theo auch super. Frühstück war sehr lecker! Das Haus ist wunderschöön! Aussicht ein Traum. Auch die Austattung! Sauber und bequeme Betten.

Der einzige Nachteil für uns war, die ca. 35min Wanderung mit Gepäck oder mit dem Motorrad offroad bei viel regen :) sonst traumhaft!

Absolutely breathtaking view. Breakfast was freshly made and delicious. Water pressure was excellent. It was easy enough to get a take away delivered. We even managed to see a couple of toucans in the morning! Highly recommend:)

We had the whole place to ourselves. It was clean and comfortable and the views were beautiful. Breakfast each morning was delicious. The walk into town was about half an hour and enjoyable, the last ten minutes on the walk back are quite steep but worth it.

La villa est magnifique, en très bon état et confortable. Nous avons apprécié le grand balcon et la vue sur la nature sans vis-à-vis, même à l'intérieur du logement. La cuisine est bien équipée et il y a de l'eau potable ainsi que du café à disposition. Le lit et les oreillers sont très confortables. Le petit déjeuner était excellent et différent les 2 matins. Théo, le propriétaire, est très sympathique et réactif.

L'accès est un peu chaotique en 4x4 mais se fait très bien à pieds quand vous n'êtes pas chargé, il n'y a qu'un dénivelé à la fin, pour accéder à la propriété (assez raide mais faisable).

Gorgeous view, loved the place in general, it was so beautiful! Breakfast was nice, fruit, eggs, arepas, french toast, coffee. It was nice to have a simple little hot tub (basically a bathtub). So many birds on the property -- they have feeders that attracted motmots, tanagers, and hummingbirds. Toucans and aracaris pass by every morning and evening. Most of the bird tours in town walk up the road from Minca towards the hotel anyways -- it really is a perfect place to watch birds from up on your balconies. They leave a pair of binoculars in the room for you if you don't have your own, and a little bird guide. Loved the view from the top villa.

There was a dog that kept jumping over the gate and sitting on our chairs. Love the local dogs that trot with you down the roads, but this guy would not stop scratching himself and smelled pretty bad. No matter how we tried to block the gate, he would still come up. He was a really sweet guy though, just not a welcome guest. Kitchen was very barebones essentials -- just sugar, coffee, and oil. Breakfast ends at 9am, so if you want to sleep in you would need to buy your own food to bring up. It's a bit of a steep trek from town, and so you'll probably end up paying 20k-25k per moto each time you want to come up from Minca. All worth it in my opinion though!

Increíble lugar para alojarte en Minca. La cabaña es increíble, muy grande, en medio de la selva, grandes ventanales y estás prácticamente sólo. La terraza es grande con unas vistas increíbles y una bañera hidromasaje para relajarte mientras disfrutas de las vistas. Ves muchas especies de aves en el entorno y te dejan unos prismáticos y un libro de aves para que puedas observarlos. Está todo muy limpio y con todas las comodidades. El personal es encantador, tanto los trabajadores como el dueño. El desayuno muy rico.

El acceso al alojamiento es un poco complicado, sobre todo con las mochilas o maletas. El camino es irregular y sólo se puede acceder en 4x4 o andando. Nosotros subimos en 4x4 y bajamos andando, pero si te alojas en este sitio, tienes que tener un mínimo de forma física. Ya que está a 25 minutos andando cuesta arriba desde el pueblo de Minca. Aún así, merece la pena 100%. Ya que gracias a eso, puedes disfrutar de la soledad y las vistas en un entorno increíble.

Nous avons passé qu’une nuit dans cette petite villa, la vue est incroyable. Nous avons adoré se réveiller, loin de l’agitation des villes, avec le bruit des oiseaux. La villa est tout confort. Le petit-déjeuner est très bon, et le chemin pour s’y rendre est très agréable. Nous sommes arrivés le soir, à pied, c’est vrai que l’accès est assez difficile mais ce fut vite oublié :)

De locatie was prachtig, geweldig uitzicht. Veel vogels kunnen spotten waaronder de Tukan. Het is wel een kleine onderneming om er te komen ( zeker in de regentijd ) maar de moeite zeker waard! Wij zijn 2 dagen geweest en dat was voor ons lang genoeg omdat het heel afgelegen ligt, maar kom je voor rust en vogels dan is dit de plek! Tip: kom je voor vogels vogels boek dan een Birdwatchingtour. Echt de moeite waard om veel vogels te spotten.

We had a wonderful stay at sunset serenata! It was the highlight of our trip. The accommodation was beautifully maintained and we woke to the sound of jungle birds every morning. The views from the deck and hot tub were unmatched, it was the perfect place to unwind and be in nature. It was really easy to access the property, we initially took a moto up to the property, but it was also really easy to access walking up the road. Theo was immensely helpful, giving us local recommendations of things to do in the area and the breakfast every morning was also delicious. 10/10 recommend staying here if you’re planning a trip to minca.

Wat een fantastische mooie schone locatie. Het hoogste puntje van minca met het beste uitzicht. Wat een mooie plek. Je komt hier helemaal tot rust. Theo is de beste gastheer die je kunt wensen. Hij reageert heel snel op berichten, fijne communicatie. Heerlijk ontbijt, het ontbreekt aan niets bij Sunset. Ik zou zo weer teruggaan 😃

Theo was ready to meet us on arrival with our keys even though we arrived a little before check-in time. He was lovely and gave us all the necessary information including suggestions for food and what to do around the area. The property itself is beautiful, spacious, very clean and comfy. The USP would be the hot tub on the terrace overlooking the tucans and the forest - it was breath-taking. Breakfast was lovely and the staff were really lovely too, a few friendly dogs to accompany our meal too. They had a laundry service which we were very happy with too, great value for money.

This was completely our fault as we didn't read some messages in advance but you need a 4x4 to access the property with luggage (or a motorbike without). The road is mostly unpaved and it's a steep hill at the top! We did walk down to the village and up again both nights and it only takes 25-30 minutes, but just if you have luggage arriving make sure to message Theo's recommended driver in advance of your arrival into the town of Minca. We managed to find a driver as we arrived though with no problem, it was only slightly more expensive.

La localisation avec une vue à couper le souffle. La multitude d’oiseaux à observer depuis la terrasse, dont les toucans débusqués par Melvin qui est d’une incroyable gentillesse. Sans oublier son épouse qui nous a concocté de supers bons petits déjeuners.

L’accès très difficile mais oublié rapidement dès notre arrivée sur la terrasse ! La pluie !! Séjour de 2 jours avec une journée non stop de pluie diluvienne… dommage ! Mais ça nous a permis de nous reposer !

A beautiful place to stay! Theo was a great host, helping us with the information to get to the property (which can be tricky) and then having someone meet us once there. We were able to access the property with a SUV but would definitely recommend a 4x4 if driving up. The location was stunning and we were able to see so many birds from our accommodation- the highlight was a toucan that landed in the tree in front of the balcony!

C’est de loin le meilleur hébergement que nous avons eu en 3 semaines !!! C’est juste magique!! Tout a été pensé avec soin! La vue est magnifique, les cabanes sont décorées avec goût et bénéficient d’un emplacement exceptionnel en pleine nature!! C est assez facile de se faire livrer le repas si on ne veut pas descendre au village. Théo est super!!! Il est très réactif et a mis beaucoup de cœur dans ce projet et ça se sent!! Allez y les yeux fermés !! Vous passerez un moment inoubliable !

Beste verblijf ooit! Een oase van rust! Heel compleet en schoon appartement, complete keuken, heerlijk bed en mooie badkamer. En heerlijk ontbijt. Het beste van alles was het balkon/terras, je kunt geen genoeg krijgen van alle vogelgeluiden die je hoort. Contact met host ook heel fijn.

Goede locatie, maar wel 30 minuten lopen naar dorpje Minca. Je kunt hier ook naartoe met taxi of motortaxi.

Wij hebben genoten van ons verblijf in het prachtige huisje van Theo en Andrea. Er was niks op aan te merken. Het was schoon, de faciliteiten waren goed, het huisje zag er mooi uit en het uitzicht was nog mooier en Theo heeft of hartelijk ontvangen en geholpen met alle vragen die we hadden. Kortom een aanrader voor iedereen!

Sunset Serenata is a unique property in the hills high above Minca town with beautiful views of the surrounding nature and Santa Marta. A real jungle paradise and the owner, Theo, is an excellent host who hooked us up with lots of recommendations and a great breakfast! Chilling in the outdoor bath and watching the sunset is a must do!

We spent 2 amazing nights at sunset serenata. One of the best accomodations we have ever stayed at in our life. Getting there is adventurous and fun! We took a 4x4 from Minca, but without bags its also accessible on foot. Theo is an outstanding host. The breakfast was great. The view is breathtaking.

Such a beautiful and peaceful stay! The cabana is lovely - clean, comfortable, and with an incredible view, especially at sunset. You can spot and hear many birds around (tip: download the Merlin app to help identify them). Theo, the host, was super friendly and responsive. The cabana is located about 30-40 minutes on foot from Minca or a short 4x4 drive (less than 10 minutes for 50-70k cop). Breakfast is prepared by Maria, the kind neighbor just 5 minutes away. Definitely recommend this place if you're looking to unwind and enjoy nature.

Amazing property, we stayed as a halfway stop on our backpacking trip to give us chance to chill out. It was super relaxing and is in a lovely quiet location. Waterfalls to walk to nearby if you want a day out. Theo the host was super welcoming and gave us great advice for our transport home! Breakfast is great too! Cocoa the dog will sit on the balcony in the morning but he’s friendly and minds his own business - just make sure he doesn’t sneak inside behind you haha. Everything was great , we would 100% recommend- Thankyou!

You want privacy? Yes this is the place. Sunset Serenata provided the perfect oasis during my holiday to Colombia. Highlights of staying here: Air Conditioning, fresh breakfast, chit-chat with Theo, sunsets on the balcony, bird-watching from a fun bathtub, and a comfortable bed. I was there during the dry season so bugs were not an issue at all. You may even have a doggy or two join you on all your adventures. Theo provided laundry service (for a small fee) the day before leaving to give everything time to air dry. The only tricky part is acquiring transportation to-and-from the casita. The roads are rough, and the trip from Minca is not for everyone. If you decide to come here, plan your meals and trips to town appropriately.

This is a beautiful, remote, and super modern place to stay. The added bath was a lovely bonus and great to relax and watch the birds! Breakfast with theo and his wife was exceptional. It was lovely to sit and chat. The journey to the accommodation is via 4x 4 or motorbike due to the roads, which was a fun experience. It can be a little costly ( for colombian prices), but don't let this put you off staying as it's worth it

Looking for a quite place surrounded by nature but still walking distance from Minca, we came across Sunset Serranata. Luckily there was availability exactly on the one night that we had no accommodation pre-booked. This gem is recently built by the French owner Theo. The contact via Booking was very clear with great tips for things to do and how to get to the accommodation. Theo was waiting for us at the house to show us the beautiful place. A large terrace overlooking the mountains and Santa Marta in the distance. The bathtub on the terrace is a great add on for enjoying a drink while listening to jungle sounds. If you like to spot birds this is a great pick. We spotted Toucans behind the house just from the deck. Theo is the best and will do his utmost best to accommodate you in the best possible way. He can also deliver you wine, beer etc on request so you don’t have to search for it and carry it up from Minca. The wifi works great, kitchen sufficiently equipped and the warm water seems unlimited. If we go back to Minca this will certainly be the place we’d stay again. But much longer.

Everything just perfect! The house felt very luxurious. The view is breathtaking. After arrival just jumping in a hot bath and enjoying sunset is priceless. Hosts super nice. And watching all the birds is like paradise. The only sounds you’ll hear is nature. To see lights of Santa Marta far away at the coast at night feels so unreal.

We enjoyed everything. Just ready instructions and signs how to get there carefully. If you decide to walk up that hill you really don’t want to take the wrong way as we did. (all our fault) 😅 highly recommend to take a motor bike taxi.

Sunset Serenata is a beautiful home set in paradise! The home has amazing views of the countryside, and we absolutely loved being able to take a hot bath on the balcony. We loved all the amazing bird visitors we saw!

Just be prepared for a steep walk up to the home, but everything is steep in Minca, so that shouldn't be a surprise.

This place is nothing short of amazing. This is exactly the kind of place we were looking for to relax and enjoy a few days in the jungle of Minca. The host, Theo, who lives just a few lower bends down the mountain road is extremely accommodating and he makes sure everything is perfect. The view from the property is spectacular, the bed extremely comfortable and there's nothing like waking up to the musical sound of the birds. Access to the remote property is an adventure as we used the moto taxis to get there from Minca. We used the recommended 4x4 taxi to get back to Santa Marta, for a more relaxed ride :). This was definitely the highlight of our week in Colombia and we would not hesitate one second to book this place again.

Everything was perfect.

Beautiful, well furnished loft with a very cool architecture. Taking a bath on the terrace and enjoying the sunset were highlights of our trip. Also Theo and Andrea are very nice, you’ll meet them at their house were you can see many beautiful birds.

No real complaints but a few words of advice: The road there is a bit rocky and to get there with luggage you’ll need a 4x4 drive from Minca (the hosts will suggest a good driver) costing roughly 70k.
