The place is absolutely wonderful, and the vibes are immaculate. From the moment you arrive, it truly feels like you are part of a big family, allowing you to experience the very best of Kashmir. We shared amazing conversations around the bonfire, enjoyed great food, played fun games, and hung out with the lovely dogs. Highly recommend it!

The hosts were very good. The location is good but a bit outside the main town. The food quality is amazing and the vibe is excellent.

There is nothing that you can't like here. It's beautiful.

Its a beautiful property nestled in a quiet area of the village on the main road. The jungle trail behind it is so beautiful you can lose yourself in it for hours. The rooms are very spacious with comfortable mattresses, pillows and duvets. Clean washrooms, endless hot running water. Evenings are full of cheer and laughter with good food to order from their menu and board games. You wont regret being here. The hosts Basharat and Monika are warm, courteous and knowledgeable and would guide you well and take care of you like their own kin.

Visiting here during Amarnath yatra can be taxing cos you are restricted for time and things to do around. But it is not Zostel’s fault.. so practically no negatives!

Staff here is really helpful, property really clean and well maintained. Cafe is where all the fun happens. Be there after dinner you won't regret it

The property is in a beautiful location, with a pine forest in the back. The dorm room is spacious. The showers have hot water, they provide laundry service and bike rentals. Very helpful hosts, would recommend!

The location is great, though it’s a little fat from the town center. However, they offer scooters for rent, which makes getting around very convenient. The hosts are incredibly friendly and always ready to guide and support you throughout your trip. They also organize community activities like karaoke, and other fun events, making it easy to meet fellow travelers and enjoy the stay even more.

* The cleanliness of the utensils and serving trays could be better. * The food was average overall, although I really enjoyed the Kashmiri saag and the omelette. * Frequent power outages were a minor inconvenience. This may be common in the region, but the property had a generator, which helped minimize the inconvenience.

An absolutely magical stay at Zostel Pahalgam! The property is situated in a beautifully peaceful spot surrounded by forests and mountains, making it the perfect tranquil retreat. What truly made the experience unforgettable, though, were the amazing hosts, Basharat and Monika. They and their team go out of their way to make you feel right at home, organizing fun evening games, bonfires, and sunrise treks. The property is cozy, well-maintained, and the food is great. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to relax and meet fellow travelers!

Zostel Pahalgam felt less like a stay and more like a feeling I wasn't ready to leave. Waking up to misty mountains, pine-scented air, and that quiet valley calm... it does something to you. Mornings were slow, evenings softer, and somewhere in between, time just slipped away. It's not loud or chaotic-it's peaceful in a way that makes you sit with your thoughts... or with someone special. It's the kind of place where conversations feel deeper, silences feel comfortable, and the view says more than words ever could.

The views are absolutely beautiful, and the place feels very peaceful. While a few instances of staff asking for tips were a bit off-putting, overall it remains a great choice for a calm and relaxing stay.

The property was beautiful. There is accessibility to the main market and other places via shared taxis. The hosts and the staff were quite friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean and the food was tasty. Would definitely recommend.

The heating in the rooms and the common space could be improved a bit. I was not uncomfortable in any way. Just a suggestion. Otherwise the property and the staff were wonderful.

I had an amazing time at Zostel Pahalgam. The owners are super warm, funny, and friendly, and they instantly make you feel at home. In the evenings they set up games in the common room, which made it really easy to meet other travelers. They also organized some trips that turned out to be unforgettable. The hostel is in a really peaceful spot, surrounded by forests and mountains. Perfect, if you just want to relax and enjoy nature. And even though it feels remote, it’s still easy to get there, a shared taxi will drop you right at the door for a small price. Overall, I felt very well taken care of and completely comfortable during my stay. Thank you guys, I appreciate it.

The hosts Bashar and Monica are truly amazing souls. They're very kind to pick me up when the police were not allowing me to pass through due to curfew. The staff were amazing and very helpful. They assisted with everything that I've asked for. The property has some amazing amenities that you don't feel like a hostel but more like a 4 star hotel. Property has been planned beautifully.

The food was a bit pricey for a budget traveller like me.

The owners Bashar and Monica were truly amazing. The J&K SoG were not allowing tourists after 15:30 hrs due to Yatra. Both of them picked us up from there. The responsibility they took towards their guest is outstanding. The property is very well maintained. The room and bathroom were very neat. The beds were kept very tidy. The dorm room was very spacious. They have central heating in all rooms, common areas and their cafe as well. The view from the cafe is mind blowing. The common area is very welcoming. The staff - Ishwaq, Khursheed were very kind and helpful throughout my stay. Their service is outstanding.

Very calm place, overlooking hilly forest and nearby river for cold dip. Hosts (Monica and Basharat) are even more delightful. I had a lots of fun with staff members too (played cricket and board games).

Best staff, good hospitality and feel like home

Best hosts you can find. Monika and Bashar are both great managers and amazing people that will make your stay memorable. The property is pretty and well maintained. Good food in the restaurant, and amazing vibe in common areas. Forest - the dog - is always there for you and your cuddles.

Lovely design and interiors. The vibe anyway is super cool as its always with Zostel. The cafe's ambience is awesome though the food was disappointing [we ordered just the basic bread (not toasted)-omlette (burnt)] I didnt dare trying anyother food. Anyway, I loved the private room with balcony. Excellent facilities and cozy room with beautiful interiors.

Property is at a very good location, such peaceful ambience and naturalistic surroundings.

Only a little suggestion, a electric kettle in winters would benefit.

It was a good property. Food was good. Staff were helpful. The common area had good interiors and amenities. It was fun staying here. We went for a hike just behind this project and met local people there. It was amazing. The best part was on our first day snow fell and it was an amazing experience.

I wish this proposal was closer to Pahalgam

We stayed one night in a room and other 2 nights in dorm. Room had bed heaters, it was spacious and clean and with 2 balconies. Overall we had very comfortable experience. And the staff there who severs food is just amazing and very helpful.

The property is pretty good. Location is perfect. Especially the owners are very sweet. They interact very well and take care of their guest. The centralised heating was perfect.

Amazing location. All the rooms were spacious, common area was well lit and the dining area has so many games. We played "Mafia" all night and later changed to "playing cards". The host wud come and help us out with the games as well. Great hospitality. Wud love to come again. Very nicely constructed property

Zostel Pahalgām is one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at—not just for the place itself, but also for the amazing people, delicious food, ideal location, and overall vibe. It felt like home from the moment I arrived. I had only planned to stay for a night, but I ended up extending my stay because it was so wonderful. As a solo traveler, I’ve had my share of not-so-great experiences, but this was the exact opposite. Bashrat and Monika were the sweetest hosts you could ask for. Khursheed bhai, Faizan bhai, and everyone else were always there to help with anything I needed. And Danish bhai’s food? Incredible—he makes the best poha! I also got to meet some amazing people and build great connections. The view from the hostel is stunning, too. Everything about this place was just perfect!

The staff is very friendly, available and active. The owners welcome everyone as a member of family and suggest activities to bring people together as well as discovering the surroundings. The food is very tasty and the accommodation is charmful, designed in the "chalet" style. Came for a couple of days, stayed 2 weeks...

The people there are so good, especially the owners, very welcoming.The views from the hostel are also amazing...just don't think..go for it and also play the mafia (iykyk)

It was fantastic

This Zostel offers a peaceful and serene environment, making it an ideal place to relax. The staff are welcoming and always ready to assist. The food is excellent, and for adventure seekers, there's a short 30-minute trek up the mountain that rewards you with a stunning sunrise view.

Ambience was nice.

The water in the bathroom was very bad. Very smelly. The next day, after room change, the water was better.

The male staff walked into our private room without knocking or talking to me or my friend at all. They came to fix the shower (surely should have been fixed before we had checked in at 4pm) but it was incredibly inappropriate. The view was looking over a garbage pile and they don't accept card payment. Pretty meh..

The host was great

Monica and her partner are amazing hosts and the hostel is a true jewel that they planned and built from scratch, giving so much attention to details. The location is quiet and offers amazing views on the mountains. Rooms are very clean and spacious. Offering a co-working zone, it's the perfect spot for a workation.

There was nothing great about it except maybe be the price but that too wasn’t as reasonable

1. They never told us that we can’t pay through cards. No one carries that much cash anymore to pay the hotel. It’s not even written anywhere that we can’t pay through cards 2. We were without fans as there was no electricity. We had to go tell them to either turn on generators or it was unbearable 3. The location is 15 Kms from pahalagam and at a very remote location.

Property is very beautiful and dorms were very good with balconies. Staffs were very friendly, thanks to Baharad and Monica for evening games and guiding on local places to visit. Ample space for parking.

Food could be better as there is no nearby walkable restaurants, price is bit high and not really worth the price.

- Didn't really like the location- far from the main town. - Long power cuts which meant i didn't get the electric kettle as described in the room facilities and the fans didn't work because of it

Its a beautiful hostel in the outskirts of Pahalgam with a lush green forest in the backyard. The property is clean and well maintained. Dorms are quiet with all amenities and washrooms are clean and hygienic with hot and cold water. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The cafe has a good menu with most food options though I didn't try any of it. I would definitely come back for a longer stay next time and recommend this hostel to my friends.
