Maison Tropical

Genialne!

The fantastic customer service and prompt response to queries provided by the owners and housekeeper Shallini. They constantly went over and above to ensure that we enjoyed our time there. We are very gratefull.

Its not about what we didn't like, because there was nothing that we didn't like! Their consistent 9 or 10 ratings reflect just how good this property and their management is. In the interest of providing an accurate review, I would just mention the following. 1) There are fairly steep internal stairs (with a handrail) that might not be suitable for elderly people or folks with mobility issues. 2) If you plan on watching tv (and maybe you shouldn't be if you are on holidays), then be aware that the tv is not linked up to satellite, cable or an antenna and therefore you can only access programs via the internet.

Maison Tropical is such a unique & wonderful spot in Mauritius. A tiny boutique hotel, incredibly well appointed and excellent hosts! João & Paulina were so helpful & caring. Their recommendations were excellent! Paulina was so helpful with our daughter rio, lending toys & suggesting places to go.

Maison Tropical exceeded all our expectations. We travel , but we have rarely (actually never) experienced a stay as perfect as this. It is definitely not your 'basic' rental, but a beautiful, spacious, and stylishly designed home away from home where absolutely everything is provided (washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, a fully equipped kitchen, excellent air conditioning, and two toilets). The service and communication from the owners and staff are top-notch; they are always ready to help and share great tips. The attention to detail truly sets it apart: from the wonderfully scented bath products and the snorkel gear waiting for us, to the turtles in the garden and the wonderfully peaceful pool. Furthermore, the location near Flic en Flac and Wolmar beaches is absolutely perfect. There is simply no other word for it: PERFECT. Thank you for everything, highly recommended!

A beautiful place to stay, perfect for our honeymoon. The accommodation was so well thought out with everything we needed including a super comfy bed, a great coffee machine and the facilities to do laundry. What took this to the next level was the incredible service from the lovely housekeeper. She was SO helpful and responsive and kept the suite in perfect condition. She gave us the best recommendations, kept me topped up with decaf coffee pods, and even took our laundry up to the rooftop so it would dry quickly (and folded it afterwards), which was very thoughtful! Oh and the tortoises were very cute. We were sad to leave!

It's hard to think of anything! The lush garden/pool area does meant that there wasn't a lot of sun around the pool area at some times of day so we didn't do as much sunbathing as we thought we might but it was a lovely setting to look out on from our bedroom.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Maison Tropical, and Polina and João were the perfect hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. They went above and beyond with the little things that made traveling with a toddler so much easier, including a baby chair, crib, toys, and even clean snorkeling gear for us to use. They even have small turtles on the property, and our daughter absolutely loved spending time with them. Their recommendations for places to eat and things to do around the area were spot on, and their warmth and genuine care made our stay feel extra special. The property itself is beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully set up. We can't recommend this place enough, especially for families. Thank you Polina and João for the wonderful hospitality, we hope to visit again,! ❤️

Outstanding. I'm not even sure where to start with how good this stay was. We had been at an all-inclusive prior to Maison Tropical, and Maison Tropical was a better experience. A true tropical oasis. Polina and Joao are the most exceptional hosts. Fantastic communication prior to our arrival, and throughout our stay, including tips/insights and advice on Mauritius. The housekeeper was one of the friendliest women I've ever had the pleasure to meet, and the home was kept in pristine condition after we'd left for our activities for the day. The interior design (all by Polina and Joao) is beautiful, the landscaping and attention to detail is phenomenal and the pool is well maintained, it's quiet, the shower is great, the bed is comfy and it feels so secluded and calm despite being so close to Flic and Flac and all its ameneties. I genuinely cannot fault this stay at all. I've travelled extensively and this has been the best non-hotel stay I've ever experienced. The tortoises (Ayo in particular) were also a huge highlight, and we miss him already. Thank you both so much

Absolutely nothing. It was perfect. Do not hesitate to book here.

Absolut nichts. Alles perfekt.

Merci

We stayed at Maison Tropical for three nights. If I had to sum it up in a single sentence: this place is a perfectly designed living space. Upon arrival, we were welcomed with genuine warmth. The hotel feels as if it’s hidden within a tropical forest; as time passes, you realize just how thoughtfully this atmosphere has been crafted. The elegance of the interior wooden details immediately catches your eye the moment you step into the villa. The two-story layout features the bedroom, a balcony, and a bathroom on the upper floor, with plenty of hanging space provided for clothes. The ground floor houses a restroom, an open kitchen and living area, along with a small outdoor section suitable for meal prep. Everything has been meticulously planned; you’ll find every detail covered, including a large refrigerator, a microwave-oven, a stove, a washer-dryer, an iron, a Nespresso Vertuo machine, a dishwasher, and a Harman Kardon speaker. Both floors are equipped with air conditioning and a strong Wi-Fi connection. All the amenities work flawlessly, making you feel right at home. Moreover, the living spaces are both comfortable and aesthetically impressive. Outside, there is a beautiful shared pool. Although we didn’t use it, it was empty most of the time, giving it an almost private-pool feel. While the fact that it’s not beachfront might raise questions at first, there are stunning beaches nearby. Since all beaches in Mauritius are public, reaching them is quite easy. The highlight, however, was the sincerity of the management—especially the Portuguese owners. They were incredibly welcoming, offered us treats, provided travel recommendations, and helped with our every need. On our first morning, when we woke up feeling tired, they truly made our day by knocking on our door with fresh baguettes and croissants. My rating is a 100 out of 10. My only regret is not being able to stay longer.

Nothing

We had a wonderful stay, and the host truly went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect throughout our visit. The tips and recommendations were excellent — from booking us on an amazing boat trip to suggesting places to eat, every recommendation was spot on. The apartment was spotless and very well maintained, with daily cleaning that kept it feeling fresh like day 1. The bed was also very comfortable. We especially loved the freely roaming turtles around the property and the unique decorations that made the place feel like a marine museum.

Host was brilliant. Very personal touch and very helpful in regard to local knowledge. I would recommend over any hotel on flic and flac beach. If you want to explore flic and flac, stay there and very short cycle/ walk to the beach. Even if high end hotels are your thing, this would not disappoint, prob your better option for flic and flac.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Maison Tropical in Mauritius and everything exceeded our expectations. The place is truly beautiful, like a little tropical paradise — peaceful, surrounded by lush greenery, with a relaxing atmosphere and a stunning pool. The hosts were incredibly welcoming and attentive to every detail, making us feel at home from the very first moment. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. A very special thank you for the lovely surprise prepared for our daughter, who celebrated her 3rd birthday there. Your kindness truly touched us and made our vacation even more special for our family. ❤️ We left with amazing memories and would gladly come back again. We wholeheartedly recommend Maison Tropical to anyone looking to experience the beauty of Mauritius in a warm, authentic, and hospitable place!

The location is brilliant - really near the beach. The property itself is perfect, with comfortable beds and large rooms, well-equipped kitchens, and everything you could need already thought of. The hosts were incredibly welcoming, and had provided small touches (bottled water, snorkels to borrow, etc) which made our stay effortless and enjoyable.

Nothing - everything was better than we'd hoped for!

Lieliskākā no Maurīcijas palikšanas vietām visā ceļojumā! 1000% izcili!

Fantastyczny obiekt. Wszystko było super. Gospodarze cudowni. Apartament jeden z najładniejszych w jakich mogłem przebywać! Super klimat!

I’m happy I discovered this gem. It felt like a serene slice of paradise and a tropical retreat. The house is wonderful: spotless, beautifully maintained, modern, and thoughtfully designed with incredible style. It honestly feels like a luxurious boutique hotel. You can totally sense the passion and care the owners have poured into every detail, blending local character with modern design and top-quality products. The kitchen was equipped with everything I needed, absolutely loved the outdoor cooking area! From the moment I entered through the gates of Maison Tropical, I felt at peace, safe and relaxed. The owners really make sure that it feels more like a home than a guesthouse, and it shows in every single detail. Joao and Polina were amazing hosts: kind, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. They were super responsive, shared local insights, and were always happy to help with anything. The bicycles were a lovely bonus, well maintained and perfect for exploring the area. The neighborhood itself is calm and residential, offering a peaceful atmosphere while still being conveniently close to a supermarket and fresh fruit shops. From beginning to end, it was a truly exceptional stay. I felt at home from the very first moment and had such a wonderful time throughout. Without a doubt my favorite place in Mauritius, I can’t wait to return!

The best acommodation ever. Hospitable and incredibly nice owners, always ready to help and give advice. Many thanks to Polina and Joao! All the best!

Auch Ausflüge wurden organisiert in no time.

A stay at Maison Tropical is a vacation in a small paradise. From the moment you enter the property, a tropical forest greets you with lush trees, plants and a few very friendly turtles. The two-floor apartment is tastefully designed, with every decorative element clearly chosen with thought and care. The kitchenette is perfect for making small meals and breakfast with a generous refirgerator, small induction stovetop, oven and dishwasher. There are two bathrooms, a washing machine and a flat screen television with all of the apps and also connectable to a laptop or tablet. Polina and Joao are lovely and generous hosts. Available to give you tips and tricks about the island and assisting you in whatever needs you might have, or just to have a chat about life. The staff at the Maison Tropical is extremely friendly, accomodating and thorough. The villa itself is well situated in the Flic en Flac area of Mauritius. If you are interested in having a lazy vacation only visiting the local beaches, you can easily do without a car. Of course, if you want to explore the island, then a car is a must. We highly recommend the Maison Tropical!

Everything - the apartment is very well equiped, the bed ia very comfy , the design is amazing with a lot of lovely details abd the hosts are very nice and helpfull.

Super stylish, super friendly, every detail thought about and curated

The property was amazing, the pictures don’t do it justice, the attention to detail is amazing. The customer service is exceptional.

Nothing everything was great

Absolutely perfect, it was better than a 5-star hotel we've ever been to. We stayed at Maison Tropical in for our wedding, and it was simply magical. From the moment we arrived, we felt more comfortable and relaxed than in any luxury hotel. The apartment is more like villa and it was spotless, beautifully designed and surrounded by a calm tropical atmosphere that made us feel like in paradise. Polina and Joao are truly amazing hosts. They welcomed us so warmly with a lovely welcome package (the Ti’ punch recommendation was incredible) and went above and beyond to make everything perfect. They helped us with wedding preparations, ironed the wedding dress and prepared the suit, gave us great local recommendations and even done a personal photo shoot at the apartment and in their stunning garden. Their staff kept everything sparkling clean every day, including the pool. We also loved having free access to snorkeling gear, bikes, and many other thoughtful details. Staying at Maison Tropical wasn’t just accommodation, it was an experience filled with kindness, care and warmth. It will always hold a special place in our hearts. Thank you, Polina and Joao, for making our wedding stay truly unforgettable.

That our stay had to end, time went by way too fast there! We honestly wish we could've stayed longer. We even asked Polina and Joao for some tips on how they designed their beautiful villas, because we would love to create something similar one day.

We couldn’t have chosen a better accommodation. The house is stunning, surrounded by a beautiful garden. It is spacious, tastefully and elegantly furnished, and perfectly equipped. The location is quiet and the bed is the most comfortable we’ve ever slept in. We stayed with our 7-month-old baby, and the hosts had prepared everything we could possibly need for him — staying there with a little one has never been so easy. A special mention goes to the hosts, Joao and Polina: simply exceptional. They are attentive and caring, always ready to give us tips on how to explore the island. They truly pampered us — we felt welcomed and immediately at home. If our holiday was perfect, it was also thanks to them. We will definitely be back, and in the meantime, I can only recommend everyone to stay here.

It’s a very special place! Beautifully decorated, felt brand new, all so clean and comfortable! Really appreciated the little touches. We didn’t want to leave!

N/A

Where do I begin? I'll make an exception and start with the end: by the end of our one week vacation, we had fallen so in love with Maison Tropical that we didn't want to leave. But back to the beginning: standing in front of the unassuming wall, you have no idea what a gem lies hidden behind it. Then you step into the magnificent tropical garden, home to birds, geckos, and tortoises, and feel transported to another world. It reminded us much of an enchanting Riad in Marrakech. The apartment itself is on two floors, so you feel like you're in a small house. There's no need for curtains; instead, palm trees and banana leaves provide privacy. Everything is brand new and exceptionally well-equipped. There's an outdoor kitchen with an induction cooktop, a huge refrigerator, a washing machine, Netflix and other streaming services, and a very comfortable bed. And of course, the bathroom doesn't just offer one, but three different shower gels to choose from. The entire apartment is beautifully decorated with seashells and other treasures that the host collects himself from the sea or nature. Not to mention the exceptionally thorough daily cleaning, which is a real plus.Maison Tropical is located on a quiet side street in Flic en Flac. Parking is available right outside the door. The sea is about a 10-minute walk away, or you can easily reach it using the bicycles provided by the hosts or a rental car. A supermarket and restaurants are also within easy reach. In the wonderful garden, there's a fantastic pool that you practically have to yourself. Sun loungers, parasols, and a floating mattress are provided. Here, too, the pool is cleaned meticulously every day.And now for the hosts: João and Polina are the epitome of hospitality. Whenever we had a wish (for example a different blanket or pillows), it was immediately fulfilled. They provided us with complimentary coffee, tea, water, juice, and beer.

Absolutely nothing

Loved every detail of it. the style, cleaniness, shells, story and the location. One of the best places we have ever been to. 100% recommend!

Our stay went perfectly well. We would like to thank Joao and his wife for the excellent service they provided, as well as their team for their great attention and care. This was our first accommodation after arriving from Switzerland, and we immediately felt at home. The hotel’s location is ideal only a 3-minute drive or a 10-minute walk from Flic en Flac beach. Staying at La Maison Tropicale makes you feel both surrounded by the tropics and at home at the same time it’s that cozy.

ras

Clean, comfortable bed, pretty interior, great hosts that are interested in you getting most out of your stay.

The attention to detail, the cleanliness, the welcoming, the kindness of the owners

Nothing

Our stay at the villa exceeded all expectations! I loved absolutely everything — from the thoughtfully designed décor that reflects the island’s spirit to the charming details like coffee glasses, plates, and quality kitchen utensils. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed for cooking, which was very convenient. The little touches made our stay even more enjoyable: the mattress, pillows, and blankets were of outstanding quality — I slept like in paradise. The host was always available and ready to help with any questions, which made us feel truly cared for. The garden on the property is simply stunning — in my opinion, the best in the entire Flic en Flac area. And the turtles living there added even more magic and joy to our experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for peace, relaxation, and a wonderful time. It’s the perfect retreat for the soul!

Ci torneremo sicuramente. Grazie!!!

Nulla, tutto perfetto!

We really enjoyed our stay at Maison Tropical. The aesthetic, cleanliness and location of the place were superb. The hosts (a lovely couple) were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

N/A

The property and suites were super clean with beautiful interior characteristic of Mauritius. The location in Flic en Flac was very convenient for doing a lot of short day trips but also for beach days. The property itself is located in a rather quiet and very safe environment. The hosts were extremely friendly and courteous, especially when it came to recommending trips and things to explore. They even organized a boat trip for us and we could borrow bicycles and snorkeling equipment free of charge, which was nice. One could definitely sense that the they wanted us to have a good stay and the best experiences possible. This made us feel at home right away.

Nothing

We had the most wonderful stay with Joao and Polina on the beautiful island of Mauritius. From the moment we arrived, I felt warmly welcomed and completely at home. The hospitality they showed us was truly exceptional — every detail was taken care of with so much love and attention.

Nothing

We had the best time at Maison Tropical, everything from the location to the interior, the comfy bed and the amazing hosts with great reccomendations. This was the highlight of our trip, thank you Polina!

Beautiful, thoughtful accommodation. You can see a lot of love and care has gone into making it special for guests. The owners are wonderful - kind and helpful. They want you to have an amazing stay and do whatever they can to make this happen. The aesthetic is calm yet characterful. Pool area is beautiful and there are resident tortoises 🐢.

The property was stunningly decorated, had all the amenities you could want, and was perfectly situated in Flic en Flac. The owners Polina and Joao were fantastic hosts, had a lot of great tips on the area, and were very welcoming. I couldn’t recommend this property enough!

The property is adorable absolutely in every detail. Very beautiful & comfortable suit, exceptional service, very welcoming owners. The design is authentic, beds are comfortable, overall the stay was adorable.

All was amazing

Everything about Maison Tropical was perfect, we were a little apprehensive about the location but within a 10 minute you are at the beach and to be honest we preferred this. The room was perfect, bed was super comfortable, the interior design was next level and it was just such a perfect little get away. I genuinely don't have a bad thing to say :) Joao and the staff members went above and beyond to make everything easy and comfortable.

everything was perfect

This was hands down the best experience we could have had in Mauritius. It’s an absolute gem hidden in a residential area near the Flic en Flac beach. A real tropical oasis, with sooo much style and character. Three private maisonette suites, equipped with everything you could ask for. And an exceptional cleaning service every day. But the best is by far the ultra-sweet & caring owners, Polina & Joao - they had allll the tips for us and were so caring. THANK YOU! Can’t wait to come back

Exquisite interior, everything is brand new, tastefully decorated with so much love and attention to detail. Boutique hotel vibes all the way. The place is spotless and fully equipped with everything you need. Super friendly owners who make you feel truly welcome. Peaceful location, surrounded by lush greenery and palm trees. Just magical.

These apartments/villa exceeded my expectations. This is a brand-new, exclusive, and luxurious place where every detail has been carefully thought out. The interior is exceptional and truly unique. I felt indescribably wonderful—pure tranquility and luxury. The owner generously treated us to fresh pastries from the store several mornings—sincere thanks to him for that. The young woman who welcomed us and assisted with various questions was also incredibly kind and helpful. The apartments were cleaned daily, which I hadn’t even expected. The pool was fantastic, and most of the time, it felt almost private. There’s both a terrace and a balcony—I loved sipping coffee from the in-room coffee machine while listening to the birds chirping on the terrace. It’s just a short walk to the main street, where you’ll find plenty of restaurants. The villa is surrounded by lush greenery, making you feel as if you're in the tropics—fittingly, the name reflects that. A huge thank you for our wonderful stay!

Maison Tropical is a hidden gem! The apartments are beautifully designed with carefully selected local accessories, creating a warm and authentic atmosphere. Everything is spotless and super hygienic. The lush greenery with tropical plants and palms makes it feel like an oasis. The available bicycles allowed us to access the entire Flic en Flac area easily. The pictures are completely accurate. You can tell that the owner who was also present during our stay really puts his heart into this place - it’s more than just a business for him and that makes the experience truly special.

Honestly, everything was amazing! There’s nothing we didn’t like.

Very well decorated, very clean. Beautiful garden and pool - very peaceful! The kitchen is rather well equipped. The area is very calm which makes it perfect to relax. The contact person was very reactive to my messages when having questions.

It's just some details as overall we enjoyed very much our stay but I would have like to have a mosquito net in the bedroom and curtain at the window in front of the bed and maybe some switches near the bed or bedside lamps.

The place was perfect for holiday! We stayed 4 nights, and we wish we could stay longer. The beds were like sleeping in heaven! And the host was friendly and borrowed us bicycles we could use, that made us so easy to go to the beach and restaurants! Voila!

We loved this new property and it’s decor. A hidden secret. Fabulous energy and ambiance. Tropical style, very exotic the rooms had everything you could wish for. the service was fantastic. staff were friendly & went out of their way to be helpful. We loved everything about the hotel 💕

Excellent newer guest house in Mauritius with lush tropical garden and greatly designed, spacious guest suites. Our suite was very well equipped with full kitchen (Nespresso coffee machine, oven, dishwasher, washing machine ect), pretty living room with social bathroom, large bedroom with excellent bed and spacious bathroom with high quality towels, robes, soaps and walk-in shower. The property is perfectly located a close drive from hustle and bustle of the town and is quick bike ride away from Flic en Flac Beach (free bike rentals is included in the stay) We can highly recommend Maison Tropical and would definitely go back again!

Our stay in Maison Tropical was perfect. The property was immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable, with every amenity we could possibly need—and more. The space itself was spacious, designed with the quality and sophistication of a 5-star resort. What truly sets this place apart are the authentic details that beautifully reflect the spirit of Mauritius and the surrounding islands. Every corner of the property felt like stepping into a curated, aesthetic museum. The lush green garden, with the pool was the crown jewel of the property. Relaxing there felt like a slice of paradise. Words truly cannot capture how breathtaking every single detail of this property is. The staff went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect stay. They were incredibly attentive, kind, and always ready to assist in any situation, which made the experience even more special. This stay was an absolute dream, and our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer. It’s a place we will cherish and hope to return to someday. Highly recommended!
