Fantail Cottage

Even though the accommodation was in beautiful farmlands it was an easy short drive to Hamilton. The views were beautiful and the accommodation was peaceful and stocked with everything you need. I loved all of the thoughtful touches and really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay again.

brought my own food which included breakfast. I knew breakfast was provided however my expectation was that it would be like a little cereal box. I was totally wrong. Had breakfast cereals galore. Next time i won't need to pack extra. Had an amazing sleep in the beds. Wish i didn't need to wake up early so I could enjoy it a bit more. The bed rooms were awesome. Very warm, nice flooring throughout the property. Water pressure is awesome. Dishes, Toilets, Showers, Kitchen has all the amenities needed plus more. Beautiful views, i could see cows when i was doing the dishes lol. Even though its 16km to Te Rapa, it doesn't feel long. Your enjoying the rural scenery which is actually refreshing. Fiona (host), was amazing. Going the extra mile. Easy to communicate with. I will definitely be coming back for another stay.

Such a lovely place that felt super homely! Fiona was an amazing host that gave us the full run down of the property itself & shops, etc. that were nearby. Beautiful sunrises in the morning & sunsets over the farmland in the evening. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway would highly recommend!

The location was perfect for us. Although semi rural it was very convenient & close to where we. needed to be.

Breakfast was satisfactory with a good cup of coffee but I liked waking up in the morning with the country feel and open spaces.

The only small critique was off the front deck it needed a step to the garden area otherwise guest especially elderly or small kids could potentially fall down.

Very clean and lots of thoughtful extras like milk, cereal, toothpaste, shower essentials, current magazines etc. Super comfortable beds. Heating and cooling options. Great shower pressure. Dinner ideas provided.

Everything was so lovely..... the property is out of town surrounded by farmland and just idyllic. So quiet and peaceful. The cottage is spacious and so well appointed, Fiona even has the fridge and pantry stocked with the essentials, and having an onsite laundry was a godsend. There was an abundance of clean fluffy towels and extra blankets, and the beds were so comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

My only regret is that we didn't have a longer stay!

Didn't have anything I didn't like!

This was our second stay at Fantail Cottage and definitely not our last. The rural location was just what we needed to unwind. We just got in from two days' flights and Fantail was just the place to relax, take an amazing shower and sleep off our jet lag in the extremely comfortable rooms. We really appreciated the coffee and cereals that were available and we cannot wait to stay again. See you soon!

It was a lovely place. Pictures don't do it justice. Was comfy and spacious. We were very impressed.

Warm, comfortable small house with lovely outlook over farmland. The owner was very welcoming and came to our aid very quickly when we couldn't get the oven to turn on - just check the main switch is on!

We were a little surprised there was no dining table but managed fine with plates in our laps. The lack of a table might influence what types of meals you have. A couple in our group were not keen on using the worn chopping board - maybe it could be replaced?

I saw fabulous reviews for this property so thought it perfect as a base to take my Mum back to the area where she grew up and we were not disappointed!!!! The house was cozy and warm and very clean. It had everything we needed for a perfect stay; beds very comfortable and shower had perfect heat and pressure! Would have been great to have a fire but the heat pump was fine. Thank you Fiona... we love your property!

The cottage was exceptionally clean! Fiona had everything we needed for breakfast: cereals, milk, variety of coffees and teas, spices. She was also very helpful when it came to the tour reservations, shopping, and dining. There is a binder and brochures with all the information you can possibly need during your stay in Hamilton.

took our own breakfast cereals etc, aircon control was difficult to master, booklet would have been handy, excellent shower, plenty of kitchen crockery, cutlery, and food items left for us was not really used by us but there was enough if we needed. Beds really comfortable, parking was right outside, and cottage extremely comfortable and cosy.

Thank you Fiona, you have a beautiful space, the most comfortable beds so everyone said. My nephew said he never sleeps in but the bed was so comfortable he slept like a log.

I didn't like that we had to rush out today to make the start of a meeting at 9:00am when we could had enjoyed another hour of the peace and serenity of your home.

The photos for this rental did not do it justice. A lovely retreat with breathtaking views of the countryside. Comfy and warm accommodation. The shower was amazing, and we were cozy all night in our warm beds. Fiona very thoughtfully provided cooking basics and cereals for breakfast. We will definitely be returning!

Fiona is very friendly Her house is clean and neat She provided some light breakfast for us. 1 night stay is not enough, we hope we can return soon.

No power outlet in bathroom

We enjoyed everything about this property and it definitely had the WOW factor. Everything was exceptionally clean and the beds and doonas were very comfortable. The cosy lounge and full kitchen with fresh milk and condiments was wonderful and the host even provided bathroom and laundry supplies. The outlook was superb. Fiona the host was lovely.

I think a little dining table would've been great to eat our meals at, or at the very least bar stools. We didn't eat in the lounge room as it was carpeted.

Fantail Cottage was comfortable and peaceful. The cottage was more spacious than I had expected, and it had everything we needed for our short stay as we travelled around the North Island of NZ. Thank you to Fiona, who was a wonderful host!

We had an entire cottage to ourselves. Everything was clean and tidy. Fully stocked with crockery, cutlery, pots, pans etc. Breakfast cereals were provided along with coffee, tea etc. Beds were extremely comfortable. Guest Netflix was provided. I couldn't recommend this cottage enough.

The views from this little cottage are stunning. Fiona made us feel extremely welcome when we arrived and even gave us some produce from her garden. The beds were super comfy. Will definitely stay again.
