Shanol Residency

owner and staff are very good. owner can guide you for your travel to nearby tourist places.

Everyone was very friendly and helpful so that I got the most out of my short stay in Gangtok.

Minor things not worth mentioning.

Grande cortesia e disponibilità. Anche nel dare informazioni o procurare servizi.

We liked everything.

There was nothing we did not like.

In this part of the world and at this price point, it is not often that one comes upon a place like Shanol Residency. Clean, comfortable, and refined, Boutique may well describe it. Our 4 nights were memorable. Our host family is warm, welcoming, and helpful. We enjoyed our stay immensely and highly recommend it.

We didn't like that we had to leave quite as soon as we needed to.

Hotel and breakfast was really good. Rooms were spacious and clean. Best place for stay in gangtok.

Food was just like home food. They take good care of the guests.

No ATMs near by. However, this is true for most part of Gangtok.

The owner is very friendly and nice and her service is praiseworthy. The rooms were clean and whatever we needed the owner gave us. The food was delicious and hygienic. My husband got upset stomach from the trip and she prepared whatever food we asked for. That was very considerate of her. The location is also not bad at all. There is a grocery store right next to the building.

The only thing that we didn't like was our room window to the other apartment's kitchen but that was not too bad.

Was a good stay :) friendly host

Hospitality is just great! Homemade food is just awesome. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Really pleasant stay that is run by a warm and hospitable family. Yashaswi was kind enough and always available to guide us in planning our travel around Gangtok and Sikkim. The room, bathroom and overall property is quite neat and well kept. Food was quite homely and delicious as well.

The property location is just near by to the main market area ( MG road )..and location and room is fantabulous, cozy and comfortable, neet and clean and very excellent decorated ( feels like home away from home )…!! Owner is so nice and her family , humble, polite and also very supportive…food is just amazing, delicious…!!

Nothing..!!

Very neat and quiet place. Friendly staff, great service.

A little far from MG marg.

The staff is extensively supportive in every thing . We had a very comfortable stay and the overall experience was great. Breakfast was really yum. A big thanks to Yashaswi for making our stay so much comfortable.

Superb property, spacious, neat and clean . The pictures in the website is the actual one . Just magnificent

Nothing

The breakfast was very good, The host, Yashaswi, is very friendly and supportive in general. I appreciated this very much.

Just the location was a bit out of the way. Walking to the centre takes approx. 20min. But a taxi can be taken easily.

An excellent accommodation. The hotel had a spacious room, comfortable bed, and clean bathroom. The host was very enthusiastic and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend staying here whenever in Gangtok. The location was in a central part of town.

The road leading up to the accommodation was quite steep. I would not recommend walking. Need to get a vehicle. But this is just what Gangtok is like, I suppose. I would still stay here next time I am in Gangtok.

Hospitality , Food, Homely environment

Wonderful homestay/residency. Run by a lovely family who went above and beyond to accommodate me. I had to go trekking for a few days and they were kind enough to keep a bag for me and then allow me to come back and say in the same room I had left. Its also the cleanest place I have stayed in in India by a mile - everything felt modern and updated. Food is great too. Would happily come back again to stay :)

Internet is a bit on and off but thats just Sikkim in general in my experience. People should also be aware that its a steep walk up to get to the centre but you can get shared cabs from around the corner easily - I never waited more than a couple of minutes. I would cab up and then enjoyed the walk back down from MG Marg through the neighbourhoods.

It offers exceptional value for money. The rates were quite affordable, especially considering its prime location near the main city center, making it convenient to explore the local attractions. The highlight of my stay was the owner's warm and welcoming demeanor. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean, providing a comfortable retreat after a day of sightseeing. The hotel's proximity to the city center was a significant advantage, allowing easy access to various attractions and dining options. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gangtok. Its combination of affordability, prime location, and exceptional hospitality makes it a standout choice for travelers seeking a memorable experience.

Clean rooms, comfortable bed and whole room, kettle in the room, host borrowed me a hairdryer, heater if was too cold,

Nothing

Staying here was probably the best part of our trip. Rooms are great, location is good, the food is homely, but more importantly, the hosts are the sweetest people around.

It's a really really good, new, clean, well furnished, well maintained, beautiful and spacious property. The property is managed by the family itself so they are really humble, helpful and sweet..♥️ You should consider this property as the best possible option under a budget.

The location is good but the road is very risky. It's a very high mountain road but directly connects to the main road. The quality of food provided at the hotel itself is definitely good as they are home cooked however the price according to the quantity and options available is too high you can go for cheaper options outside.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Shanol Residency, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The rooms were impeccably clean and spacious. A special thanks to Yashaswi for the exceptional service. Their attentiveness and friendliness truly made my stay memorable. They went above and beyond to ensure that all my needs were met, and their dedication to guest satisfaction was evident in every interaction. I highly recommend Shanol Residency to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant stay.

I acknowledge sincere support, hospitality, arrangement and welcome Ness of Shanol Residency Gangtok during all occassions and during entire tenure of our stay. We heartly recommd this hotel to stay in Gangtok due to their response like family members, hospitality, support at any time even in odd hours, cleanliness at rooms, taste and hygiene in food and also in best price in Gangtok

Excellent hotel, staff and owner. Beautiful behaviour of all.

Owner is very cooperative.

Their hospitality and service was outstanding. It really value for money. Besides their food was too good. Besides, the owner of this property was very cooperative and amicable. Our staying there was like we feel like home.

The host is truly wonderful. She is so friendly and attentive to any request - always going above and beyond - and as a UK traveller it was also really helpful that her English was immaculate. The room is one of the best I've stayed in after 4 months of travelling, and is the best value for money. Everything is to a really high standard, from the quality of bed and spaciousness of room, to the amazing power and heat of the shower. A must stay - in fact, I came back again because I enjoyed it so much.

Nothing, it's perfect

Everything was mind blowing. I highly recommended them. They very welcoming. Their service is excellent. I would definitely stay there again. Location is a bit downtown but other than this everything is just awesome!

Just the location. Sometimes its very hard to find a taxi.

My sincere appreciation for the exceptional experience I had during my recent two-day stay at. Shanol Residency. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by the high standards of cleanliness and hygiene evident throughout the premises. The level of service provided by Yashaswi surpassed my expectations. Every interaction was met with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine desire to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. I especially want to commend the staff for creating a welcoming and homely atmosphere, which truly made me feel at ease during my stay. Furthermore, the outstanding quality of the food served. My experience at Shanol Residency was nothing short of exceptional. I left feeling rejuvenated and thoroughly impressed by the level of hospitality extended to me. Loved our stay at Shanol Residency. It felt like a home for our 2-week trip in Gangtok, everything has been wonderful. Yashaswi and her family were so kind and helpful during the whole stay. The room was spacious, clean and all equipped. The food was delicious. They additionally took great care of me as I got sick in the last 3 days. A true gem, highly recommended.

The property is beautiful and transportation available for MG marg below the hotel . The stuffs are very friendly , kind . The room is very clean , well maintained . The food is homemade and really good . They helped me to make my trip better .

I’ve spend few days at Shanol and I was recovering after being sick. They took really good care of me, the owner and her family are genuinely kind and everything is made for you to feel good. The room has been the cleaniest and the most comfortable I’ve had in India so far. The food is really good. Perhaps I would previse that the location is above the center which means to walk up and down. It was perfect for me as more quiet. I deeply thank the owner and her family again for their generosity and open heart, I had a wonderful time there.

The hotel owners are very warm and create a family atmosphere. They try to accommodate all your requests. The rooms are very confortable and clean. Food is also very good

There is no cable tv. It is a little far from the centre but there are taxis easily available⁸
