Victoria Hideout

Nice stay for couples & family...beautiful view...friendly staff & good customer service ♥️

Nice quiet hotel with fantastic view, very large room and balcony

Other than the pool not a lot here

The location was ideal for a carm and quiet relaxed atmosphere.Loved it

Fantastyczna architektura a przede wszystkim niezapomniany widok.

I highly recommend this resort Great amazing tasty food Great hospitality If you have any occasions you have to stay in this hotel and please try their food super delicious

Nothing but it’s one hour away from kandy and it’s not bad as we have a car

The food is really great. The most beautiful free place.

The view from the pool as well as the balcony are breathtaking. We were lucky to experience a beautiful sunset as well as ice rain during our stay. The road is good and any vehicle can come. The food is really tasty and both caretaker & chef are really nice & supportive.

Nothing. Everything is perfect

The location,staff and the facilities

Perfect: wonderful view and perfect service with very kind hosts. Many thanks for everything

Even if this is a bit far from everything, the natural environment and the view worth it.

The property was absolutely beautiful – stunning sunsets, a lovely pool, and spacious rooms with big balconies and amazing views. The food was incredible and very reasonably priced. The highlight of our stay was Dinesh’s hospitality – he went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and taken care of.

The property is quite secluded and about 1 hour 15 minutes away from Kandy town (not that I necessarily didn’t like this), so it’s best to plan meals in advance as shops aren’t close by. That said, this also makes it wonderfully peaceful and quiet.

We stayed in a double room with a lake view, and everything about our experience was excellent. The location is absolutely beautiful-right by Victoria Lake-and the surrounding area is calm, quiet, and perfect for relaxation. The room was clean, cozy, and comfortable, with an amazing view to wake up to. The infinity pool was another highlight—well-maintained, safe, and a great spot to unwind while enjoying the scenery. We also really enjoyed the food-everything we tried was delicious and reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was warm and welcoming. It’s easy to access with good parking, although a bit away from major towns—but that just adds to the peaceful vibe if you're looking to disconnect and recharge. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a scenic, quiet, and refreshing getaway!

Beautiful location, tucked away but easy to get to

Healthier options for breakfast

We stayed at this place for 10 days, and it was one of the most comfortable and beautiful experiences during our entire trip around Sri Lanka. The view from the room is absolutely stunning — you can lie in bed and admire the mountains and a reservoir that looks like a fjord. Truly a magical setting. The room is very spacious (over 50 m²), with high-quality finishes, stylish design, and a small kitchen. We had a huge balcony on the second floor, which was perfect for relaxing. Everything was there: hot water, fridge, a work desk, and great Wi-Fi. The hosts are incredibly friendly and caring. The staff is excellent — always ready to help with anything. The food deserves a special mention: delicious and hearty breakfasts and dinners, everything was prepared with great quality.

Location is awesome. Property is right next to a national park and the views are amazing from the balcony as well as the pool. Food was very fresh and lots of choices. Owners + staff are really friendly, had a great stay at this place. Would definitely recommend!!

Nothing

We loved it there, aspecially an amazing view from the balcony and swimming pool. The Kichen served delicious Rice&curry :) Very reasonable price for a place like this.

Very decent place with pleasent service. Had enjoyed the peace of mind during my stay. Staff was very much flexible and friendly. Served us very good meals and it's really value for money. I'll be coming back again.

Felt that need more room lighting as it flet little darker in the night time. Nothing else to be complained. If Booking.com can provide local currency payment for this place, it'd be better.

Fabulous views from the rooms, pool and restaurant. Very peaceful and tranquil. The hotel is quite remote / secluded, ideal for a peaceful retreat. Huge rooms with big windows and balcony to soak up the view. Best shower I had in 3 months in Sri Lanka. Really good, home cooked food at the restaurant. Massive portions and varied breakfasts with multiple dishes. Other restaurants are all a drive away but that doesn't matter with such good food at the hotel. Very friendly service from Dinesh and his sister. They are always on hand to give you a personal service.

Intermittent WiFi.

Calm , quite , Full of Nature

Dinesh and his sister were great! Thank you for your services and the delicious cooking Shadow is also very cute ;)

The view was beautiful! The food was delicious!

Everything, the breakfast was amazing we couldn't even finish it. The room had everything we needed, comfy bed, a spacious shower and even a kitchen even though we didn't make use of it. I wish all accommodations in Sri Lanka were like this. Well done to the host.

We wish we stayed more nights here

Beautiful location with amazing views from the balcony. The room was comfortably air conditioned. The swimming pool also overlooked the lake.

Possibly the only downside was getting to the location. But worth the trip.

Food & the service . specially Dinesh & Samanthi both were helpful & Samanthi always gave us delicious food .

One A/ C was working poor .

Amazing location. Wild animals. Awesome swimming pool. Comfortable room.

A great location with amazing views. Dinesh and Wasanthi made us a nice stay @ Victoria Hideout.

Beautiful property and lovely staff. Thanks for making my husband’s birthday special. Make sure you eat here, the food was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend

Would be nice to have tea / coffee and mugs in the room alongside the kettle.

This accommodation was amazing in all regards. The location is absolutely stunning being situated at the far end of the Victoria Reservoir with unobstructed views for many miles. The bedroom and tiled bathroom were both huge and modern. There was touch of luxury in the quality of the bed linen and towels. The large beds being extremely comfortable. There were no barking dogs to disturb our sleep only the sounds of birds in the morning. The swimming pool was also lovely at the end of a long day out. Breakfasts were plentiful and varied. Dinners were the best we have had in Sri Lanka in our 30 days here so far and fairly priced There was a small menu but sufficient for most tastes. The staff and owners were wonderfully hospitable and couldn't do enough for us. They organised a tuktuk for us to the local Dam, and helped with out onward travel arranements.

There was some construction work going on in the restaurant during our stay which detracted somewhat from the peace and quiet of the area otherwise we would have scored 10 for this beautiful guesthouse.

Fantastic view. Amazing in fact. West-facing for afternoon sun and sunset. Nice pool. Food was so good; so much of it and so much flavour. Dilshan and Wasandi were really friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and the shower was powerful and hot. Bed was very comfortable.

Balcony is massive but furnished with just two deck chairs and a little table. The bar across the balcony insures some of the view. I suggest two bed chairs and two comfy upright chairs. Whilst we were there building work was taking place. Imagine the beauty of the view and instead of birdsong you have an all-day chainsaw. And not only all-day but up to 2100 as well. Not good enough.

There are no restaurants nearby, and since it was clearly said on booking.com that rooms were equipped with electric kettle for cooking, we bought a lot of groceries in the supermarket before coming to the hotel. However, there was no kettle, no options for cooking our own food, and we just had to give all the groceries bought to the hotel workers...

Spacious and clean rooms. Breathtaking view. Very friendly staff. Delicious food.

Lovely Location overlooking the Victoria Reservoir, clean and spacious room and friendly service from Dinesh (The Manager ). Will surely consider this hotel to revisit and will recommend to my friends.

Amazing Location Amazing Food and Amazing food.

A delightful and peaceful stay. The room and views were beautiful and everything was just like in the photos. The food was so delicious and the staff were attentive and friendly. Only wish I could have stayed longer!

we loved our stay ! we were looking for a nice , quiet place and this was it . great room , great view . lovely food . we loved the swimming pool . and such a great service !! thanks

The staff is so nice! Food is so yummy and the view is so beautiful.

The WiFi is poor and water heater is really loud. You hear everytime your neighbors turn on the watter.

What did we like about the property ? The place hands down. What a place. We’ve been to many places, but this, it’s something different. It’s calm, quiet and beautiful at the same time. Hotel staff (Dinesh $ cooking lady) were great and the food, wowww, everything she cooked was so tasty. One of the best places to visit. We will definitely go back here again. Thank you.

Nothing at all

The location was stunning, the rooms were spacious and clean, the cook and caretaker were very professional, prepared very tasty meals and were very attentive. The bed was very comfortable and the shower had excellent water pressure with instant hot water.. we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay.

The access to the rooms is by stairs and there are over 50 stairs to get to the top floor.. one has to be fit enough to climb upto the rooms.

10/10

Fabulous location with scenic views of the Victoria Reservoir Excellent service. Friendly staff.

No room service available Pantry but no pans or cutlery

Incredible comfort and hospitality. European perfect quality. Magic nature view, clean fresh water in swimming pool, tasty and variety food, comfortable bed, silence and quiet. Hotel staff treated us with the utmost kindness, patience, responsible and understanding. You welcomed us in without a thought — we asked, and you said “yes” immediately. You are such a blessing! We can’t thank you enough for that amazing generosity. If I could, I’d give you five stars!
