Very large rooms and amazing Onsen onsite. The guesthouse may feel a bit dated but it’s well maintained and cleaned very well. Run by a lovely couple where they explained the 9 Onsen baths of the town which you have free access to as a guest of their ryokan. They will also validate your parking if you drive so your parking is free. Overall a nice quaint place to stay.

Nous avons passé un court mais superbe séjour dans ce magnifique ryokan traditionnel. Tout d'abord les hôtes sont d'une incroyable gentillesse. Ils vous proposerons de venir vous prendre à la gare de Yudanaka, puis également de vous emmener à la forêt des singes des neiges ce qui est vraiment adorable. Le ryokan est très authentique avec tous les équipements nécessaires au confort. De plus les chambres sont spacieuses et avec un certain charme. Vous avez 2 onsens homme et femme dans le ryokan et un onsen extérieur privatif. Par ailleurs, vous aurez une clef d'accès pour les 9 autres onsens publiques de la ville. Enfin bref c'était une très belle expérience et nous ne sommes pas prêt d'oublier ce bon moment passé sur place. Encore merci 🇨🇵➡️🇯🇵

This family owned hotel picks you up at the train station and drives you back there. They give you all required information to visit the city and drive you to the Snow Monkeys. The hotel has its own onsens (温泉 - public baths) (for females and males) and a private one you can share with friends or family.

Heel leuk om in een traditioneel Japans hotel te verblijven! Er zit een wc bij de kamer, douche en bad zijn gezamenlijk. Je krijgt een sleutel voor de 9 badhuizen, leuk om in je yakata over straat te lopen en een paar baden uit te proberen. De privé onsen van het hotel zelf is wel de mooiste, ga daar ook zeker even kijken! De eigenaars zijn heel aardig en spreken Engels. Je wordt van en naar het station gebracht. Als je ook naar het Snowmonkeypark wil, kun je daar ook naartoe gebracht worden, maar daar moet je wel wat ruimer de tijd voor nemen: de trein terug naar Nagano gaat niet elk uur tussen 11 en 1.

De bedden zijn futonbedden, niet iedereen kan daar goed op slapen.

The staff was a really nice old couple, they spoke English well, were kind and helpful. The experience was one of the top points of our 1 month holiday in Japan. Both the city and the Ryokan were like from a magical tale.

This small hotel was perfect for our family of three. We had a large room with a private bathroom. It is right across from a delicious bakery, ramen shop and public onsen 3. The private onsens in the property are awesome! The couple that runs this hotel went out of their way to welcome us and make our stay comfortable including rides to the snow monkey park, coin laundry place and train station. We lived our relaxing time in Shibu Onsen.

Todella mukava palvelu ja kaikki oli valmiina. Hyvä kuljetuspalvelu eri paikkoihin. Iso plussa tilavasta huoneesta ja hyvästä sijainnista. Hyvät patjat. Onsen 9 bath kylpylä oli mukava. Henkilökunta oli koko ajan valmiina palvelemaan.

Aamiainen piti olla molempina päivinä mutta ei tuotu kumpanakaan!! Olimme tilanneet aamiaisen. Sisäänkirjautuminen oli todella hankalaa aluksi kun ei tiennyt mihin piti mennä. Lisäksi auto jolla meitä kuskattiin oli aivan liian pieni kahdelle ihmiselle.

Very close to the onsens. It has its own indoor and outdoor onsens. Importantly, you’re given a key which allows you to visit all of the official 9 onsens. Very conveniently located. The owners are lovely and will happily take you to and from Yudanaka train station and the monkey park.

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home! They gave us rides to/from the train station, walked us through the ryokan experience, and were overall very friendly people! The ryokan itself was very clean and comfortable, and the private Onsen looked and felt great. 10/10 experience, would gladly come back again.

温泉街にあり散策にも行きやすく、駐車場も無料！！ こじんまりとしていて、静かで落ち着くお宿でした。 お風呂も温泉で24Hいつでも入れるのは最高です！ お宿の方の対応も穏和で暖かく、とても気遣いがいきとどいているなーとホッコリしました。 ドリンクサービスやカラフルな可愛い浴衣の貸し出しもあります。 川沿いの道路に窓がありましたが防音？お部屋はとても静かで気になる音といえば冷蔵庫の音みたいな(笑) でも普通のHOTELよりも大きくて便利でした！ コンセントも充実！もちろんWi-Fiあり！ 大きなHOTELやお宿も良いですが、小さなお宿も最高ですね！！ また是非に利用したいと思います！！

温泉街の散策にカラフルで可愛い浴衣をお借りしましたが、ちゃんとした下駄がなくて履く事ができず残念でした。

Que íbamos para ver a los monos y no bajaron, nos quedamos con las ganas, pero los baños termales y paseo con kimono fue de lo mejor, superando el no haber podido ver a los monkey.

We took a trip to Shibu Onsen from Tokyo and it was the highlight of our trip. Daymaruya Onsen, in the heart of the town, was a wonderful place to stay. It is charming, traditional, and quiet, with spacious bedrooms that are private, cozy, and clean. There is a private indoor and outdoor onsen for use on-site. The hosts are lovely and helpful. There is plenty to do in the area - we took part in the town's local tradition of visiting all nine public bathhouses, visited the snow monkey park, ate fresh, beautiful sushi from a restaurant a few doors from the ryokan, and walked around, visiting the temples and taking in the alpine air. And then you have a peaceful, homely room to return to. The whole experience was relaxing and we felt very lucky to experience such a beautiful part of the world. 100% recommend.

The accommodation is located in a cozy town where you can experience an authentic Japanese atmosphere. The hosts are very kind and attentive—they prepared a traditional breakfast box. Guests can also use the onsen in the house and receive a key that allows access to other local onsens.

The best bang for your buck here! Super affordable. The hosts are super responsive to emails as long as they are expecting messages from you. They offer free rides to and from the airport and to and from the snow monkey park! Theyre one of the Ryokans that give you the master key to the 9 onsens. They can sell you a towel that you go and collect the 9 local onsens stamps. The onsen at the accomodation is relaxing. It smells like rotten eggs which means it's filled with sulfur and other minerals and is straight from the source. Location is right at the center of town The couple who runs this place is super cute!

No dinner? But I didn't really expect it at this price.

The couple were so welcoming and lovely, picked us up from the station, took us to the snow monkeys and dropped us back at the station after checking out. The hotel is lovely with a great private onsen outside and a very spacious and comfortable room.

The shared open shower area is something to get used to, but is all part of the onsen experience.

Two positives: the senior couple running it were very kind and helpful; location perfect for snow monkey park (and onsens if that’s your thing)

Our room was so dusty we had itchy eyes. The walls were stained and the bathroom sink needed a good scrub. Room had old music equipment and even a dusty old phone from the 80s. We could not handle it so we left a night early. We did not want to offend the couple as they were so nice but they need to hire cleaners as there was dust down the hallway and light fixtures; even cobwebs in the bathroom. The floor mattresses had no support left and the bed covering was an old duvet with a white cover put on it.

Amazing stay, you have an access to a private onsen in the middle of the village. The hosts are really accommodating and kind, giving you shuffle service to/from the station and the monkey park. I would 100% recommend staying here!

Very convenient location and hospitable hosts! We really appreciated how they met us and took us back to the ryokan at the station and to the snow monkeys. Thank you so much! The room was warm, and there was a heater, so it was comfortable to sleep in. The hotel's onsen is better than the nine public onsens.

The room was really spacious and the town is super cute. The owners of the ryokan are very nice and helpful, the owner took me to the monkey mountain by car and even dropped and picked me up from the train station. They are really nice and speak great English.

The town was quite busy and there were not many dinner and lunch options unfortunately, so I recommend to buy some food in advance because the first night I could not find any open restaurant to have dinner. The ryokan is a bit old.

The ryokan is on the heart of the onsen street at Shibu Onsen, so if that is your thing, it's the perfect place for you. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they try their best to communicate in english. The room is big and cozy in the japanese style. You may not get this experience elsewhere in this pricerange. The breakfast is good and you may want to add it to your stay considering there aren't a lot of restaurants open in the morning.

Not much to say about the ryokan itself. The Shibu Onsen area isn't really active. We've struggled to find open restaurants, even when they were tagged as open on google maps some of them close way earlier. Some of them take the last orders at 19h40 so be aware of that. Also, some places do not welcome tourists, even with english menus and all so be aware of the information leaflet for etiquette.

Wonderful stay. Very helpful staff that went out of their way to give rides, recommendations, explain things. Such a fun historic hotel.

Lovely service with the owners picking us up from the train station and also taking us to the snow monkeys. Loved the private onsen and the location in a nice onsen village.

The place was absolutely incredible, the owners are so caring and helpful and their English is very good. We really loved the hospitality, the pick up and drop off from the station and they even drove us to the monkey park too! Also the private Onsen is incredibly gorgeous, perfect temperature and it was not very busy so didn’t have to wait long for the key.

We loved this ryokan and the owners were so kind and helpful. The outdoor onsen is great and the rooms are super comfortable- it felt Iike a really authentic experience. No local restaurants open so they drove us to and picked us up from a restaurant near the station- couldn’t have asked for a better experience in this cute little village. Highly recommended.

We loved the location of the property, Sibu Onsen is a charming little village. The access to both the private and public onsens was excellent. The staff that run the ryokan were exceptionally helpful and efficient.

There were not many options for dinner resulting in us walking in heavy snow to Lawsons which was over 1km away. If you are staying there with children/hungry teenagers, be better prepared than us and make sure you have provisions for dinner with you. The breakfast provided by the ryokan was delicious and is recommended.

Breakfast were nice and traditional. Really enjoyed the private onsen. Nice spacious traditional room with very clean toilet.

Our hosts were very welcoming and kind. We were picked up from the railway station and were also driven to the Snow monkey Park entrance the next day. Our family Ryokan room had plenty of space and it was wonderful to experience traditional. Edo period accommodation. The Onsen bath was so relaxing after a busy day. The Ryokan is located in the centre of town and an easy walk to many facilities. We would be very happy to stay again.

Personnel adorable et très serviable. Nous étions les seuls clients sur la nuit, nous avons pu utiliser les onsens en privatifs. Normalement il y en a un pour les femmes, un pour les hommes et un mixte en extérieur. Coup de cœur pour le onsen extérieur très agréable notamment en hiver ! Le gérant nous a emmené le matin à la montagne des singes, c’était adorable.

Certains équipements un peu anciens mais non gênant. Pas de demie pension contrairement à la majorité des ryokans traditionnels, mais il suffit de le savoir

Beautiful traditional feel ryokan (tatami mats, etc) in a great location right in Shibu Onsen. The onsite Onsen was perfect. The owners are very helpful and help arrange everything - it is a great base for both the Snow Monkeys park and the famous local Onsen. Breakfast was great (and they accommodated a Vegan diet). I would definitely recommend staying here.

The room is older, but still very comfortable. An in-suite shower would have been nice (we had a toilet, but had to use the Onsen showers)

La hospitalidad, estar inmersos en la cultura, la experiencia de dormir en tatami, lo modesto del Ryokan. Autentico y comfortable. Muy lindo y con muchas flores. Gente muy amable, nos guiaron y ayudaron mas alla de lo esperado. Nos fueron a recibir a la estacion del tren, nos llevaron al parque, y de regreso a la estacion al final. El Onsen privado nos encanto. Nos facilitaron toallas, yukatas, sandalias. La ubicacion es perfecta. Cerca del rio, parque de luciernagas, cafes, restaurantes, Onsen publicos, a minutos del parque de monos.

Clean, cozy and Friendly staff and generous with care and help. Great scenic views and close to the bus stop to traverse the resort area.

Some areas are quite dated. Perhaps it’s the period that we were there but there is a limit food choices in town at night.

The hospitality was so wonderful and the onsen and breakfast was excellent!! We wish we could stay there longer. Unfortunately we were in a rush but our hosts were very patient with us and all our luggage. We will recommend Daymaryuya to everyone.. Being able to wander the streets in Yukata and Geta and have access to various onsen was amazing, and so was photographing the very iconic building just like the “Spirited Away” anime Also our hosts were very responsive when we contacted them about an item we left behind. We hope we get to visit again.

Shower turned cold and wouldn’t go warm again, luckily I have finished with washing my hair . Common bathroom cleanliness can be further improved .

It was a cosy Ryokan run by this friendly couple. The husband fetched us to and from Yudanaka station which was excellent.. we came on 26/12...there was snow blizzard that lasted almost the whole day. We were also driven and fetched for our trip to the snow monkey park. We love their onsen facility..it was memorable soaking outdoors under the falling snow!

Tot. Vam anar una familia de 8 amb 2 nens i 1 adolescent i tant les habitacions com les instal•lacions van ser excel•lents. Els propietaris del Ryokan van ser molt amables en tot moment, ens van recollir i dur a l'estació i també ens van portar a veure els micos de la neu. Esta molt ben situat dins de shibu-onsen, te 2 restaurants just al costat i esta al mig de la ruta dels onsen. Si hi torno sens dubte repetiria.

Les gérants sont très accueillants, l'ambiance est agréable, la chambre très spacieuse et confortable. Nous nous étions garés sur le parking municipal payant et la personne du ryokan nous l'a remboursé. Le ryokan est assez grand, avec un onsen extérieur à privatiser.

I proprietà sono molto gentili e disponibili. La posizione della casa é comodissima. Siamo stati benissimo. Hanno un Onsen privato molto bello.

Old and dirty. For this kind of quality the price was to high. The outdoor pool was very relaxing but dirty.
