Great location, spacious rooms, the staff were very accomodating & friendly.

The AC is a bit in your face, could be very cold or very warm. The blankets provided are thin - more like sheets. The pool did not seem very clean - there were ants on the pool towels as we kept them on the sun beds.

Das Zimmer war gut aber etwas hellhörig. Das Personal war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Ruhige Lage. Alles in allem war es ein schöner Aufenthalt.

Der Pool war trüb. Man hatte das Gefühl die Pumpe war nicht an. Das Frühstück dürfte etwas vielfältiger sein.

Lovely staff and 10/10 breakfast! Walking distance to a beautiful lake, comfy beds and the option of eating outside by the pool. Elephant spotting on the evening was exciting!

The upstairs rooms can be quite noisy. It was a shame there was so much building work going on while we were there but I imagine it will be great when it’s finished.

Clean, comfortable and really nicely laid out. The rooms are spacious and pretty, with good AC and lovely private outdoor terraces. The pool and garden area was lovely to relax in and there were loads of birds! Staff were very kind and attentive.

Breakfast was nice but dinner wasn’t the best.

We stayed here for one night and had a great experience! The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the pool is really good. The food is delicious, and the staff is very friendly with amazing hospitality. Highly recommended!"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Stay at Elephyard Retreat A huge thank you to Nim and his two wonderful colleagues (whose names, sadly, I’ve forgotten!) for looking after our family so incredibly well. They were friendly, helpful, and wonderfully accommodating, especially with providing a lovely vegetarian breakfast for us. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and they made sure we had everything we needed. The absolute highlight was having the incredible opportunity to see elephants right in front of the resort, wandering through the garden — such a magical and unforgettable experience! 🐘 Hats off to you guys at Elephyard Retreat! Amazing place, lovely staff, delicious food, and fantastic hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a truly special experience. Es un sitio bonito, pero nada más.

No hay una recepción como tal, y hay que andar buscando al personal si necesitas algo. Nos tuvimos que levantar del desayuno sin tomarlo porque tras 55 minutos de reloj no nos lo habían servido. La habitación tenía otra sobre ella y cuando el inquilino se movía el techo crujía y se oía todo lo que hacía; es como si el techo de la habitación fuera de chapa sin nada más. Además, los compresores del aire acondicionado (el nuestro y el del vecino) estaban fijados al exterior de la propia habitación y el ruido era tremendo durante toda la noche.

Habitaciones grandes, ubicación muy tranquila.

El personal es extraordinariamente lento. Posiblemente no haya suficiente personal. Desde que encargas el desayubo o la cena hasta que te lo traen puede pasar una hora. La piscina está, pero no se puede usar porque está en mantenimiento.

Propreté irréprochable, jolie chambre.

Literie extrêmement molle, matelas HS, personnel jeune mais gentil, piscine pas assez filtré donc eau pas claire.

Sehr freundliches Personal. Aufmerksam und nett. Als am späten Nachmittag ein wilder Elefant auf dem Feld vor dem Hotel war, haben sie extra überall geklopft, damit die Menschen ihn sehen können. Das Abendessen war sehr gut. Ruhige Lage und man sitzt wunderschön neben dem tollen Pool. Klare Empfehlung!

Sehr schönes Hotel, mit tollem Pool und gutem Essen. Wenn man Glück hat, kann man am Abend auf der Wiese nebenan Elefanten vorbeigehen sehen. Das Hotel selbst ist etwas abgelegen, aber mit TukTuk oder Driver kein Problem.

Its was very hot outside, and very few trees in the garden to absorb heat.

Incredible hotel, looked like we were the only ones there. Grounds were very impressive. Staff were attentive. Well maintained and cleaned. Loved the peacocks roaming around. Bathroom was incredible and spacious.

Room needs a mini fridge. Card machine wasn't working on check out and no ATM close by.

Die Zimmereinrichtung und das Bad sind sehr schön. Der Pool und der Außenbereich sind auch total schön und gepflegt. Das Essen war auch gut.

Wir hatten Zimmer 102 und die ganze Nacht hörten wir ein lautes Tropfgeräusch, obwohl es schon seit Stunden nicht mehr geregnet hat. Es war auch nicht der Wasserhahn. Möbel auf dem Balkon wären wünschenswert.

Dass es so ruhig und entspannend war. Der Nationalpark direkt vor der Tür. Haben zum ersten Mal ein Chamäleon gesehen. Schöne komfortable Zimmer. Ein kleines Dorf ist nur 1,2 km entfernt mit einem wundervollen preiswerten Markt.

Dass die fahrer die kommen, um einen wohin zu bringen, wie ins Dorf oder zur wunderbaren Statue am Wasser - sehr teuer für Sri Lanka sind.

Nice swimming pool and clean and spacious bathroom

The price is very high vs the quality you get compared to other places. Room made squeaking sounds with every step, the AC attached to the wooden wall also made it squeak so we had to turn it off during the night so we wouldn't wake up constantly. Early morning you are woken up by the lights because the curtains let all the light through. During dinner the chairs were nice, food was average and there was one guy calling loudly and watching Netflix with the sound loud. Not really a relaxing ambience. Singular things wouldn't be the biggest issue but all together it is a bit disappointing. In general it is a nice and good hotel but the price is way too high.

La habitación amplia, la terraza, la piscina, la amabilidad de los trabajadores, la cena muy buena y el desayuno espectacular!!

Demasiado cloro en el agua de la ducha y lavamanos, picaban los ojos y la piel. En la terraza faltaba alguna butaca o tumbona y algo para colgar los bañadores y toallas mojadas. No vimos elefantes.

La habitación era bonita, pero la piscina tenía un problema grave de cloro y la comida era pésima

The pool had a lot of flies and insects, which made it less enjoyable to use. The buffet breakfast had a very limited choice, so we ended up just sticking to toast and tea.

Tout... L'accueil, le personnel adorable. Et surtout la chambre spacieuse et confortable. Literie et salle de bain top. Je vous recommande la derniere chambre en haut. Le diner au choix a coté de la piscine. Prevoyez la sortie en bateau au lever du soleil. Avec un peu de chance vous verrez des elephants

Exceptional hotel, some building works as the hotel is very new but no disturbance at all. Welcome cool towel and drink was a lovely treat after our long journey. Excellent service, fantastic, incredibly good value food. The pillows are amazing. I need some!! I could find no faults at all with anything at the hotel. Although an extremely quiet retreat it is only a few minutes from the hustle and bustle of a lively local town.

Truly a fantastic place, a hidden gem. Close to the beautiful Lake Sorabora (800m), this is an oasis of peace and comfort. The rooms are very luxurious and stylishly decorated, the large garden and ditto pool are lovely. The staff; Ruwan and his colleagues, treat you like Royalty! The food is the best I have eaten in Sri Lanka, without exaggeration. Wish we could have stayed longer than just two nights!

Spacious room, ease of access and few meters away from Sorabora wewa.

Though we have informed our arrival time in advanced, room was not ready even we reached on given time. There were no reception desk to navigate arrivals. Lack or room amenities. There was no mini fridge, and wardrobe to hangout cloths. During night time it was too noisy due to an arrangement (musical band) made by the hotel management to entertain few people. Breakfast was below par and not worth for the money we spent. Highly expensive buffet.

Beautiful location, amazing swimming pool and generous staff. The food was the best we have had on our trip.

The restaurant was actually very good and the staff were very kind. We were hoping to see elephants, but weren’t lucky enough to. Beautiful peacocks are around the property though.

We loved this place because it's a perfect Location. Its Nature friendliness is remarkable. The Pool was in front of the paddy where you could see many birds always and maybe elephants rarely. The room arrangement is great and privacy is high.

Bamboo curtains Waited more then 20 minutes for someone who was allowed to do the bill. Boss went to the city leaving staff clueless behind. I was leaving with no receipt just left the money there.

The staff were incredibly dedicated to ensuring we would have what we need and went out of their way to help us. The room was very clean and spacious and the place was very peaceful and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious too!

Food was always served cold. This was partially our fault at dinner as we were quite late, but we showed up on time for breakfast and still got cold food. This is one thing the staff could improve on.
