I liked the location, the spaciousness and style of the property.

Amazing place to stay with friends and Rooms were spacious with all required facilities , easy access to beach and fanad house, beds and pillows were comfortable, kitchen facilities were adequate. Would definitely recommend Portsalon cottage for a lovely stay.

The cleaning of the bed frames needs a little more attention , dust and dirt noted .

House was comfortable and spacious. Great location and host was able to be contacted it we needed anything.

Very Spacious. Great social areas and size of property can accommodate large families and social gatherings.

We’re a family of 5 with x2 small children. Had a long travel on over night ferry. Initially asked for early check in however the owner said would be €120 due to cleaning etc. Was outside of budget decided not to bother. We had arrived at 14:45 (15mins before check in). Night before I received 2 messages via booking.com with a welcome note and explaining how to gain access via a key lock. Attempted both codes and they didn’t work. Tried to contact owner and went straight to answer phone. Sent numerous messages and calls however, phone was off. We managed to get in via a back door that was unlocked. We dropped off our belongings and went to meet family. This bothered us not having security - without knowing area etc, we didn’t feel comfortable. We also had expensive belongings. My husband had to break the key lock box upon return to get the door key. Our children were hysterical as we stumbled in the dark trying to open it and they were scared that someone might break in. Being an unfamiliar place to them, you could hardly blame. It was almost 11pm UK time that we heard back from owner after another half a dozen attempts later that evening. They were travelling during the time of our arrival on long haul. We got an immediate apology, granted, but we didn’t get the sense that the owner cared all too much when sharing our frustrations and challenged on providing house information or an alternative contact number. This was disappointing to say the least! Things to improve on: Provide alternative contact details if you are not contactable!!! Every place we have rented over the years provides a booklet with house information and things to know around the area. This is the first time we have stayed at a property and didn’t have one. Useful information and very basic. Goes a long way. Cleaning could have been a lot better. Main bathroom Shower had a lot of black hair in drain, from previous users. Despite cleaners only been in earlier that day.

The house is absolutely stunning. Perfect for large families or groups. There were 12 of us there ranging from 9 years old to 59 years old, and nobody had anything negative to say about the house. It was so spacious, clean, and modern. If I could live here, I would. The owner is super friendly, and nothing was ever too much. Will 100% be back again and will be highly recommending this place.

It is a brilliant house and absolutely wonderful for our stay. The kitchen/dining room is a perfect setup for a big group. Everything is finished beautifully and the beds are very comfortable.

Excellent home in a lovely location. Had everything we need for the whole family and would like to stay there again.

Loved the decor & beds…. Spotless white mattresses/mattress covers & sparkling white bedding ….Soo comfortable. ❤️ Loads of seating for all the family….. corner sofa & the biggest dining table & chairs in open kitchen/lounge Plenty of cutlery, cups & plates…. Washing up liquid, cleaning sprays all provided. Good quality white toilets in each bedroom…toilet paper, shower gel & shampoo supplied.

I loved the area and the house was very nice and very big. Definitely I will come back! 🥰

Our stay at the Portsalon cottage was delightful. We were a cross-generational group of 11, ranging in age from 4 to 72, and the house accommodated us perfectly. The space is thoughtfully designed, providing plenty of room for everyone to relax and enjoy. The kids were thrilled to have their own bedroom, and all the beds were incredibly comfortable. The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, making it easy to prepare meals for our large group. The layout made cooking a breeze, and we enjoyed gathering around the extra large table for family meals. Location-wise, the cottage couldn’t have been better. A short, easy walk took us to a stunning beach. With the car, we ventured out on day trips to Dunfanaghy, Derry, and Fanad Lighthouse. The scenery in this area is absolutely beautiful. Overall, our stay exceeded our expectations. We wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Stunning house, the decor was beautiful every room looked exceptional. Comfy beds. Toiletries provided. Great WiFi. Such a luxurious house.

Lack of laundry facilities, no basket, no clothes line or airer, I bought one. Lack of shoe storage in the main entry hall. Window didn’t open in the main bathroom and J didn’t feel the bathrooms were ventilated. Disappointing that the gates didn’t lock as I had young children visit. Opportunity for outside seating or hot tub

House very spacious and comfortable.

Excellent place to stay, with nearby beach which is exceptional. Beautiful house with ample amount of space. 15min drive to Fanad Lighthouse which is highly recommended to visit. We are very lucky with the weather on this day.

Weather could have been better:)

From start to finish our stay was incredible. Firstly, photos do not do this property justice. It is absolutely gorgeous inside, with huge windows and loads of natural light. The rooms are spacious and two with en suites. All of the facilities in the house are of the highest standard. Within walking distance of the golf club, beach and bar the location is fantastic. We were lucky enough to have great weather too. Highest recommendations for this property. We would love to be allowed the chance to come back again.
