Lovely property with the best location, beautiful interior and exterior. I call it a gem
Love staff who made our stay so comfortable. The room was spacious and a wonderful balcony to relax and look out at the gorgeous view.
Liked everything really ....
We received a warm, friendly welcome and were shown personally to the room with a thorough explanation. The room was fantastic with a relaxing ambience and excellent aircon which was a relief. Everything functioned very well, communication channels were clear and efficient and we had everything we needed. There are convenient places nearby to eat breakfast and being right on the promenade there are many dinner and drink options. The recommendations we received were great. We highly recommend and would stay again for sure.
Gorgeous place to stay. Very comfortable with everything we needed and more. Bed was super comfy and the balcony was just fabulous. Incredible views of Bequia harbour and perfect location to access the great bars and restaurants.
Nothing - we loved it.
Echte aanrader!
Geen tegenvallers. Het viel tegen dat we weg moesten...
Everything it was perfect
Location was great and the room had all required amenities.
Only issue was noise, dogs barking all through the night and noisy cars/motorbikes on the road behind/above the accommodation.
L’accueil des propriétaires. L’emplacement,
Everything was great.
Everything.
Location and friendly staff
Ran out of water, no amenities
Great location, roomy, friendly.
Unbeatable in Bequia. View that keeps you glued on the balcony, and unforgettable rooms.
A little dated kitchen, but nothing not a showstopper.
The Gingerbread Suites are ideally located on the Port Elizabeth waterfront in Bequia. Our room was perfect with a comfortable bed, two day beds, a small well equiped kitchen and a good shower room. There is a balcony for enjoying a drink or meal. The air conditioning was good and the WIFI/internet adequate.
All good.
The room was fabulous. Big bed and bathroom and we loved the cozy the balcony, incredible view and useful kitchenette.
Not much to fault.
Beautiful location right on the Belmount
Beautiful bones and gingerbread- linens and fluffy extras could be improved
Location, room & friendliness
It was a nice an clean place an I love how it’s closed to the water.
It’s a nice place.
Great waterfront location
Nothing
This IS the spot to stay on Bequia, literally a few minutes walk from the ferry from St Vincent, on flat ground! (This is a hilly island!) Despite the close proximity to the tiny port, the water in front of the hotel is crystal clear and not too deep, perfect for regular refreshing swims literally a minute away from the room. There are neighbouring restaurants and bars - also on the waterfront which are very practical - only being very low season during our stay we weren’t able to experience as most were closed. This made for a very peaceful, idyllic stay which suited us perfectfully. Thank you Gretel, the manager, for your kindness in upgrading us & offering a late checkout (as availability allowed). Definitely would recommend Gingerbread hotel!
We booked 3 rooms for our stay. All were facing the sea and were just gorgeous. Very spacious and just a short walk from the ferry terminal.
The room (and bathroom) is very spacious. The balcony was my favorite part -- the view of the marina in the morning can't be beat. Strong AC + mosquito net were very useful (and bug zapper). Also very close to restaurants, and not a bad walk to Princess Margaret Beach / the ferry. Management was very prompt in responding to requests and gave good recommendations for activities in the area.
Part of the bathroom needed attention upon my arrival and new bedsheets, and when I alerted Management, it was responded to in good timing and resolved the next day. Also it's not entirely clear how to access reception walking from the ferry, so I felt lost (and hot and sweaty from the uphill walk!) -- but you enter in the back at 'Guest Access'. The most irritable part of the trip had nothing to do with the accommodations but more had to do with credit card payment issues -- I was out and about and contacted in excess (via phone, text, and platform escalation) regarding the need for resolution. On such a short visit (2 nights), truthfully, it stained my experience a bit. Ultimately, it was a system update issue, and I paid directly at the office when I returned to the property that night. Didn't love being told that if payment was not resolved ASAP, I would need to leave -- that felt rude. I would advise Management to make sure that payment is resolved same-day as check in vs expecting a guest to come back to their office on their timeline the next day (I was beach liming for goodness sakes!). That will reduce the seeming fear they had that I, or anyone in the future, would 'run out on the check' or something. Also would have been nice for the price of the room to have a bottle of water at check in.
Perfect location with great amenities. Friendly, helpful management willing to go the extra mile to make for a perfect get away.
The view, the terrace, the location and the bed (both design and confort) are wonderful.
Kitchen and bathrooms are old-fashioned for such a expensive accommodation. Also surprised that such expensive accommodation does not even include or provide breakfast. To the price of Booking, I needed to add more than 100 USD of VAT, service charge and other things, so, read attentively all the conditions. The room is very spacious and nice but extremely noisy when it rains due to the metal roof. Also do not be surprised to be atacked by hundreds of mosquitos (which did not happen so much to me in other parts of Bequia).
The location was great. Walking distances from the port, restaurants and bars and the beach. Rooms were a nice size with everything we needed as well as a balcony with a view.
One of the kitchen cupboard doors didn't close properly and the mirror in the bathroom was a little rusty and in need of replacing, but nothing major.
The room was really lovely, spacious and very comfortable.
No Gingerbread cafe on site as advertised on website. Would have been great just to have a buffet breakfast on site for guests. Still there was the self catering kitchenette which in the end was convenient. And I could sit on the verandah and look at the gorgeous view.
Lovely waterfront location
the lack of any breeze on the balcony and the mosquitoes are overwhelming.
Great location . Wonderful manager who helped us out of every situation and provided us with very useful info. He was lovely and most helpful.
Cleaning. The cleaner could have done more to ensure it was really clean. When we arrived there were old tissues left on floor. When we asked the manager if we could have it cleaned , then the cleaner came in again and left things spotless.
Beautiful authentic local hotel, right in the middle of the strip of beaches, with a pier for being picked up by sailboats and swimming.
It was low season, so cafe society was not there, only the onsite ice cream. Not their fault
Beautiful self contained apartment situation right on the waters edge, a short 5 min walk from the ferry port and lots of restaurants and bars near by.
There was no AC in our roon and sleeping was difficult. There were fans though.
Great location just outside Port Elizabeth with views over the bay. Well equipped suite with kitchen. All in good condition
Wi-Fi is unreliable. Not sure if that is true for the whole island. Seemed a bit better in restaurants
Great room with a fabulous view from the terrace! The room was super clean, with a huge bathroom, convenient kitchen, seating area and a very comfortable bed. The Gingerbread is a very short walk from town, everything on the Belmont Walkway and Princess Margaret Beach. (Almost all of the island is in walking distance, if you like to go for a morning walk before hitting the beach.) The manager and staff were lovely and a joy to interact with. I had a fabulous time!
Leaving.
Charming and historic yet modern building. Beautiful seafront garden just a few minutes walk from the center of Bequia. Large sea view room with a well equipped kitchen allowed us to do simple meals and eat on the large lovely balcony. Our charming host did everything to make our visit a success.

The location is outstanding! I have stayed here before and it never disappoints
I miss the coffee shop
we have been upgraded and the room (Horizon) was amazing ! Thank you very much
Great location
The view of the harbor was lovely.
My husband and I booked this hotel for several nights but only lasted one night. The view was amazing but we checked out as soon as possible because of no hot water, no air conditioning, screens that had holes which caused excessive mosquitos, and discovery of coffee bean size animal dropping on one of the beds. I noticed that most of the good reviews were more than a year ago. This property has so much potential if the owners would invest some upgrades and renovations to this charming location.
I loved the view and that it had aa full kitchen. the balcony was amazing and the chair so comfy
great location and the room is spacious, well furnished and a great balcony
daily cleaning could improve, towels are not folded. shame gingerbread cafe is not open. clearly missing a niche in the market for a place serving great breakfast and real coffee
great location! spacious rooms
Restaurant was closed
5 minutes walking from ferry. Best location for sunset and harbor. Accessible by walking to nearby beaches along beach boardwalk. Gingerbread is a nice small compound with very nice villa apartment layout and front yard. We enjoyed every minutes we lived here, sitting at balcony or lying in comfort bed, walking along the beach or just sitting in the front yard daydreaming… I would say it is might be the best choice in Bequia.
The view! Plenty of coffee and supplies in the room which seem to be few and far between at most hotels we visit these days!
No food available at the property, but plenty of options nearby! Mosquitos in room, but the hotel provided spray and a mosquito net for over the bed. We used it all and had a very pleasant experience!
The location of the hotel.
Limited facilities especially as the restaurant was closed. It was not even possible to have breakfast on site. We should have been forewarned that the restaurant/cafe was closed.
