The location and convenience of parking was great. The town had plenty of options for food and also had a lot of interesting events going on. There was a notice board of names/rooms and we simply found our rooms with the key in the door. Very helpful when contacted for any questions... replied within a minute or two. Great location for visiting Ypres, or travelling to/from Eurotunnel

Bathroom privacy was awkward with just a couple of curtains that blew away from the window when showering.

Beautiful old building, very tastefully decorated, loads of character and charm....very clean, excellent attention to detail. Great location, right in the centre of town....off street private parking.

No breakfast available but it wasn't offered. We also thought there was a bar from the pictures on booking.com. but soon realised it was advertised weddings and private parties.

de kamer en het gebouw was perfect - verder niets op aan te merken. Per Whatsapp gevraagd of de wagen op de parking mocht blijven tot 13.30u en dat was toegestaan. Dus daarvoor ook een plus.

ik vond het jammer dat we niemand van het personeel gezien hebben - waardoor het toch een beetje onpersoonlijk was. Er was geen lift en als 2 'oudere' dames en dat was iets minder evident om de bagage naar boven te brengen.

Prachtige ligging in het historische centrum van Poperinge. Je voelde de oudheid in het pand terug. Parking is ook voorzien, een prachtige tuin en veel rust en stilte. Er staat een koffiemachine, dat is wel heel fijn.

Les gens qui ne se gare pas correctement sur le parking .. le bruit des autres hôtes qui n'ont pas de respect la nuit ( donc forcément l'insonorisation n'est pas là ) donc si vous n'aimez pas les hôtes bruyant et que vous voulez vous reposez je ne recommande pas .. et le dernier point c'est la télé au dessus du lit .. nous n'avons pas compris . Et la clim qui tombe en panne et que mon conjoint doivent la réparer lui même ... Concrètement plusieurs point a améliorer ! Je précise qu'une majeur partie ne sont pas du faits du propriétaire...

Een grote, handige keuken, een mooie kamer en een supergoed bed!

Een mooie, historische villa, pal in het centrum. We hadden een parking bij onze logeerplaats. Ruimte genoeg om te slapen, we kregen de keuze om samen te slapen of elk apart. En heel netjes onderhouden. De koffiehoek was perfect om ons zelf gekocht ontbijt te kunnen opeten. Prijs/kwaliteit zeker dik in orde.

De ruime kamer, mooi ingericht. Fijne sfeer, authentiek. Vriendelijke gastvrouw. Keukentje in de kamer. Mogelijkheid tot sauna waarbij je zelf met hout de sauna aansteekt.

De douchekop, kraan was iets minder. Badkamer voor de rest in orde en net.

De mooie propere kamers en de ideale ligging.

Het was een aangenaam verblijf, dus er viel niets tegen.

Unfortunately, it was very hot when we stayed, and with no air con, the large windows on the road side of the building let the sun beat in until later in the afternoon.

Een charmante accommodatie waar de tijd lijkt stil te staan, maar met alle nodige comfort. Mooie badkamer, comfortabele bedden en een ruime gemeenschappelijke keuken voor de gasten. Zeer vriendelijk onthaal en een uitstekende ligging op wandelafstand van de Grote Markt van Poperinge.

Other guests were very noisy throughout the night, loudly going up and down the stairs

Mycket trevlig lägenhet, fint renoverad i ett mycket gammalt vackert hus. Bra parkering utanför. Lätt att hitta. Trevlig stad. Nära till restauranger och butiker för att köpa frukost. Vi bodde i Loftet och AC nådde inte sovrummet vilket var lite jobbigt i värmeböljan.

It was definitely different. I didn’t see the owner but my partner did and she gave him very interesting information about the building it was used for the officers in WW1. The apartment is at the top of the house so lots of low beams at 5ft 2 this gave me no problems however my partner is 6ft 4 so it gave me lots of laughs.

Great hotel 2 minutes from town nice big rooms

Great location in the middle of Poperinge. The old building added to the charm. Convenient self-checkin and parking.

Building and room could use a bit more renovation. Some elements of the renovation seem a little amateuristic or not well thought through. The kitchen in the room was very worn down, curtain rails almost fell off, bathrooms quite minimal. Room was advertised with private terrace while others weren't. While the building has a non-public terrace, this was not private to the room.

Skindles is stunning. It oozes charm and history, words dont really do it justice. Chantelle is a very good host and we will be back.

Lovely town, lovely guest house, easy access, convenient and ample free parking. Large top-floor apartment in historic period building. Great friendly welcome with excellent communication and responses when our plans changed slightly. Easy walking distance for cafes, restaurants and bars, but not so easy walking back after some of those Belgium beers. We only stayed one night and did not book a breakfast but complementary tea and coffee was available. The apartment slept 4 with a double bedroom and two bunk beds off the lounge and would be great base for more extended stays.

Very difficult to be negative about this property, but as with some other reviews staircase access to the loft apartments would challenge anyone with mobility issues or large heavy cases. Access to the other rooms is straightforward.

Beautiful historic building very well located. Good free parking on site. Well equipped shared kitchen.

The description does not make it clear that there is no kettle or fridge in the actual room. Therefore we had to go out to the shared kitchen even to make a cup of tea. Awkward stairs up to room. Bath very slippery when using shower. Hair dryer only works on cold. No sauna. The room was called the backpackers room on the door, which was what it was, rather than a family room as described on booking.com

It is a most comfortable and charming period property which has been made into a most welcoming place to stay. We shall definitely be returning.

Skindles Guesthouse is perfectly situated and a couple of minutes walk away from Talbot House museum and the town square and the bars/restaurants. There is off street parking which was good and the sat nav took me straight to Skindles. Skindles has a quirky feel too it with a fair bit of history to it which gave it more charm. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable.. I did manage to peek into another room when we arrive again it was spacious and clean.

That a hard one as i truly feel that there was nothing negative about Skindles .. I suppose if you struggle with stairs that maybe an issue but apart from that it's a great place to stay and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.. I found it perfect

Location was excellent being close to the central square and many of the restaurants and attractions. Liked the fact that it was an historic building with many original features. Breakfast was self prepared in apartment (self catering). The free coffee in one of the communal areas was good and appreciated.

The location seemed fine, and it had parking. It is a nice property, with original architecture, so quite lovely.

There was noone at the property when we arrived, although we informed the host that we were arriving late. They did not provide us with a code to get into the building and they had not prepared a room for us, so we had to wait until they sent us a code to get in. It was very dark inside, there was noone there, we didn't know where the lights were and had to find our way around. They had not prepared a room for us, and told us to pick any room that had bedsheets on the bed. It was quite chilly in the room and we could not figure out how to turn on the heat. Some instructions left in the room on how to use the appliances would be very helpful for international travellers, as we are not familiar with the appliances/heating devices in Europe.

The property is charming and full of historical interest.

Had previously been a gentleman’s club reflected in the decor. Plenty of room to socialise with other guest should you want to and a large kitchen available to guests . Good central location

You need to be mobile to manage the stairs as they are narrow . We were on the 1st floor

The most pleasant stay and an all round wonderful experience. The property and room had so much character, was very homely and so spacious! The facilities were brilliant, Chantel and Peter the most welcoming and attentive hosts and very responsive. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay!
