Reviewed Sep 1, 2026We spent five nights at Salzkammergut Lodge and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We traveled as a family with two kids (ages 8 and 10), and having two separate bedrooms made a huge difference for our overall comfort. The kids had their own bedroom with cool wooden bunk beds that they absolutely loved (mainly because they had their own TV right in bed!) The automatic check-in process was so easy, convenient, and cool - a seamless way to arrive without any stress. The location was fantastic: tucked away in a mini forest off the main road, with no shops or other buildings nearby. It was incredibly quiet and peaceful, and you could hear the river flowing all day long, which made the whole experience even more relaxing. The lodge itself is beautiful and fully equipped with everything a family could need for a comfortable stay. On top of that, having access to a free gym and laundry/dryer machines (for an additional fee) was a great bonus. It really felt like a home away from home, allowing you to feel nicely secluded in nature while still being only a few minutes' drive from the nearby town of Abensee for local necessities. Additionally, it served as a great base for exploring most of the main attractions and lakes nearby.
The only thing missing was mosquito nets/screens on the windows and balcony door. Because the lodge is in a dark, natural area, opening windows at night attracts bugs. Since there is no air conditioning, proper window screens would be a game-changer for enjoying fresh air during warmer months. Other than this, the place is perfect!

the location is slightly remote, great that you are surrounded by trees but for any groceries walks, not the best. We arrived shortly before midnight and had issues with the access card machine so had to call for help. Staff arrived within 10 minutes but took a while to get the cards printed.

Reviewed Jan 28, 2026Das Apartment ist hervorragend ausgestattet und lässt wirklich keine Wünsche offen. Die Einrichtung ist modern, stilvoll und sehr geschmackvoll – man fühlt sich sofort wohl. Besonders die ruhige Lage direkt am Fluss ist ideal für einen erholsamen Urlaub. Die Unterkunft verfügt außerdem über ein Fitnessstudio sowie einen Snackautomaten, was den Aufenthalt zusätzlich komfortabel macht. Wir hatten eine wunderschöne Zeit und können diese Unterkunft absolut weiterempfehlen!

- possibility of parking under canopy was not free of charge (daily fee), therefore guests were parking outside of the perimeter on a gravel road and parking slots within the property area were empty - property situated out of the city, so shopping must be done by car or bike (walking distance to the nearest grocery shop around 8 km)

The bed was cozy, and the bathroom was huge. The kitchen was perfectly equipped with everything you might need during your stay. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. They checked in with us every day to make sure everything was okay and to see if we needed anything. I can highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and comfortable stay. We will definitely come back again!

Reviewed Aug 24, 2024It was very clean, luxury. The kitchen was very well equipped (toaster, microvawe, coffee machine, oven, stove, standing mixer, hand mixer and a bunch of other stuff). Overall we had a very nice stay!!

Reviewed Sep 9, 2023The overall look of the appartment (super modern, kitchen was equipped with everything), the position near all the lakes, and it was a bit secluded near the river, which made it nice and quiet to chill and relax. Just amazing.
Nothing. Everyhing was amazing. If the stay had spa (pool and saunas) I probably wouldn't leave the premise the entire stay 😄

there was a bad situation happened with the lady who owns the apartment, but the apartment is still beautiful.

Reviewed Jul 26, 2023nice modern design, very well and practicly designed, extremly confortable, natural materials, very well equipped kitchen practical parking for the bikes with all necesary equipment washmaschine room fitness beautiful view of the river, opposite bank great surfing wave terrace with dining table and loungers on the lawn on the groundfloor apartments
very small dislike :-) automatical corridor lighting in the apartment sleeping hight platform not very suitable for small children (we don´t might, not in all apartments) maybe another TV programs :-)

Reviewed May 1, 2023We spent two lovely days in Salzkammergut Lodge. This is a new place and it's really worth visiting. We reserved the apartment with balcony for 4 people. Kitchen was very well equipped, rooms were clean and really comfortable. The Owners were very polite and they have been answering quickly for the all questions that we had.
