Everything. It's a private residence and the owners, Mary Cris and Mechelle are amazing. Really nice people, considerate and very helpful. If you're looking for peace, quiet and privacy, this is the place to go. Huge garden, beautiful view of the sunset, lots of bunnies hopping around, some cats and at night you can watch a bunch of toads hanging around the Koi pond.

If you are afraid of bumpy roads, don't use a motorbike. The property is a little remote and the path is not suitable for beginners. I will definitely come back. Best place I stayed so far on my travels.

Mechelle, sa sœur Mary Cris et Paul nous ont très bien accueillis, ils sont très gentils, serviables et disponibles. Elles nous ont booké le pick up et loué leur scooter. Ils sont très discrets et nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous. Bon emplacement proche de San Juan au calme avec un accès privé à la mer pour snorkeling et voir des tortues. Terrasse agréable pour profiter de la vue. Joli parc arboré et fleuri où on peut admirer un vingtaine de lapins gambader. Grande chambre bien équipée et lit XL confortable. L'eau de la douche est chauffée au solaire donc plus d'eau chaude le soir. Bon wifi. Le chemin d'accès est praticable uniquement à pied ou en scooter et il n'y a pas de panneau indicatif depuis la route donc pas facile à trouver sans l'aide de notre tuktuk. C'est une très bonne adresse !

The view of the Ocean for sure is very beautiful. Also Mechelle and her Sister were very nice.

Unfortunately Paul made my Stay very uncomfortable in spite of all the good reviews and the kindness of Mechelle and her Sister. The WiFi in the bungalow was not strong and there was no fridge. The entrance is not really private. The bungalow has its own entrance, but you have to pass through their entire property to get to it… The Fridge was listed in the booking and about the WiFi I checked in advance. They confirmed that there is strong WiFi inside the bungalow for online calls. It was not. It was a fluctuating WiFi between 5-10Mbit which is not strong and not suitable for online calls. I tried having a call but I got kicked out several times during the call. They offered for me to use it in their house, but that was far away and uncomfortable. Therefore I requested a partial refund but that apparently triggered Paul. I was told they want me to move out because of my request, which I couldn’t and didn’t because my alternative wasn’t available at the time anymore. (If they had been accurate about the WiFi, I would have booked the alternative from the start…) Well then i received a very long and inappropriate message (probably ai generates) from Paul, to correct me by giving his kids as an example and so on. From that moment I stayed away and did my own thing. But Paul for sure affected my stay very negatively. Therefore I cannot recommend to stay here. Dear Paul, If you see yourself as the spiritual leader of a community that you dare to share with others I recommend you to find other ways to distribute your accomandation. Booking.com is a commercial platform on which it is normal to expect the amenities listed to be provided and if they are not to ask for compensation. But you know, sometimes these challenges also bring us closer to get to know our own Ego - thanks for your advice btw. Sincerely, Lilly

Einfach alles. Paul und Mechelle sind so nette Gastgeber. Immer für ein Gespräch da und mit vielen Tipps ;) Man fühlt sich direkt in die Familie aufgenommen. Wir hatten nette Karaokeabende. Die Dachterrasse des Bungalows ist einfach für Sonnen Sonnenuntergang wunderschön. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen.!

Echt een fantastisch verblijf hier gehad. Super lieve eigenaren en 17(!) hele lieve konijnen. De locatie is prachtig, de accommodatie is schoon en ruim. Er zit een geweldig terras bij met uitzicht over de zee en de zonsondergang. Het is heel erg rustgevend. We hebben veel verblijven op de wereld gezien maar dit is echt een pareltje! Zeker een aanrader als je een goed verblijf zoekt op Siquijor!

Everything was perfect. This place brings you so much peace. You truly connect with nature, surrounded by cows, rabbits, cats, and dogs. The bungalow is perfect — modern, cute, and secluded, ideal for staying in peace. It’s the best accommodation I’ve had in the Philippines so far. You can enjoy sunsets by the beach, where there are so many turtles. The hosts are really kind and help you organize your arrival and departure. I was working a lot since I work remotely, and the WiFi was very reliable.

The only downside is that the location is a bit far from everything without a motorbike. But if you have one, it’s not a problem :)

Här hyr du av de snällaste personerna på ön. Vi bodde de första 5 nätterna i den lilla stugan precis utanför trädgårdsmuren, med vacker utsikt och kossor och höns som betade gräs utanför dörren. 50 meter ned för en liten klippvägg låg havet där vi snorklade med sköldpaddor och tog det lugnt på eftermiddagarna/kvällarna. Stugan är enkel men mysig och hade det vi behövde för vår vistelse. Under den femte dagen blev det oväder och endel vatten läckte in på vissa ställen eftersom det regnade så mycket. Hyresvärdarna ordnade då så att vi fick flytta till den större uthyrningsdelen innanför muren, som ligger lite mer skyddat från vind och vatten. De skulle såklart också åtgärda de ställen på stugan som läckte in. Bra att veta kan vara att ac:n i lilla stugan håller 27-28 grader. Detta eftersom de använder sin egen solpanel och behöver tänka på elanvändningen (vilket var väldigt bra när det var strömavbrott på resten av ön). Vi klarade oss dock bra med fläkt och korsdrag mellan fönstren. Vattnet i duschen är inte uppvärmt men med det filippinska klimatet är det ganska skönt med rumstempererat vatten! Bra sängar och kuddar plus att det var tyst utanför så vi sov bra här. Vad vi än behövde så hjälpte värdparet till. Stället ligger ca 10 min från San Juan. Vi hyrde moped i San Juan vilket kostade strax under 500 pesos/dag. Det ligger frukostställen/matställen m.m efter vägen.

Varmvatten och svalare luft från Ac skulle ge boendet full pott! Men som sagt så var vi väldigt nöjda ändå!

Super nette Familie, soo unglaublich freundlich, zuvorkommend. Nehmen einen sofort auf und die Gespräche machen Spaß! Es gibt einen Pool und man hat eine eigene riesige Dachterasse - super für den Sonnenuntergang!

Sehr freundliche Homestay-Betreiber. Wir haben uns zu jeder Zeit zu 100 % wohl gefühlt. 🫶

Diese Unterkunft ist ein echtes Juwel. Das Schlafzimmer und Badezimmer ist sehr grosszügig. Das Bett war ca. 2m breit. Die dazugehörige Dachterrasse ist ein Highlight (Meerblick und Sonnenuntergang). Durch Solarpanels ist eine durchgängige Stromversorgung garantiert, was für Siquijor nicht üblich ist. Das Wlan funktioniert einwandfrei. Mit dem Roller, der man in der Unterkunft mieten kann, ist man in 10 Minuten im Zentrum.Die Familie ist super freundlich und wir durften sogar an einer Geburtstagsfeier dabei sein. Eine der schönsten Unterkünfte, die wir auf unserer Reise hatten.

schwer zu finden, da kein Schild an der Straße, aber jeder den du fragst kennt es.

Sehr schöne und idyllische Unterkunft. Fantastische Aussicht und super nette Gastgeber. Es war alles da was man braucht.

Alles Top! Lediglich etwas schwierig zu erreichen über den matschigen Weg.

La posizione, la cordialità, il giardino pieno di coniglietti e la magnifica terrazza dov'è possibile vedere un tramonto mozzafiato. Le ragazze sono gentilissime, ci hanno aiutato ad affittare il motorino e il transfert per il porto. È un posto molto tranquillo, immerso nella natura per un meritato relax.

Essendo un po' isolato è consigliato affittare un motorino, poiché nei dintorni non ci sono locali.

Had the most amazing stay here! The hosts were incredible, we got to spend some quality time with them and it just felt like home. WiFi was amazing (had to work), the room was spacious and clean, the rooftop is really nice for home workouts / watching the sunset. We will definitely be back!!

Only wish the beach in the backyard was less rocky & more easily swimmable. That would make this place perfect.

It was a nice and comfortable room with amenities needed for a comfortable stay. They also made available a scooter rental at a very affordable rate.

Everything was great other than it is a walk down to the property from the main road. It was not a problem but I did have large suitcases I would have left in Dumaguete if I had known.

Bedbugs in the rooms, got bitten a lot. There were also cockroaches. The bed was a bit uncomfortable and we were waking up several times during the night because of some very noisy bird and also around 5 am it was getting too hot in the room, I think the air conditioning is automated to switch off at 5 am ( you can't control the air conditioning). No hot water during the evening and you can't control temperature of water at all. Location is a bit far from beaches and waterfalls.

Mechelle and her family are super nice and friendly, they helped us with transportation to Siquijor port and to rent a motorbike (that is a must given the remote location). In front of the property there is a beach full of marine life perfect for a private snorkeling session at sunset (amazing experience), but bring proper shoes as there are plenty of urchins. The pets are very cute and special: the cats, the rabbits and the lovely new entry dog (04/2025) The facilities are also very good: The swimming pool is perfect to relax, the balcony has a great view on the sunset and the detached room with bathroom (perfect for privacy) was spacious and clean. Airco and WiFi worked very well, and there was a water dispenser with filtered water and a fridge.

Michelle and her sister were awesome hosts. They really cared about me and were helpful in any way. The room is very spacious and has a roof top terrace with a splendid view on the ocean. The place uses solar energy for everything so there was no risk if the electricity brakes down what happens on Siquor Island quite often. So I always had internet :-) The place is very quite. Perfect to relax and chill. They only rent out this one bungalow so you are there on your own with Michelle's family.

I’m not sure I have enough words to describe how much we loved this place and this family ❤️ This place is a little slice of heaven outside the busyness of San Juan, filled with a beautiful garden, views, animals, private villa style room, and most importantly, a beautiful family. I second everything that all of the glowing reviews previous to this one have said. I cannot recommend this place enough, we would have stayed so much longer if we could, and would return in a heartbeat. This place and spending time with this family has been the highlight of our 5 month trip around south east Asia. Thank you Mechelle, Paul, Mary Cris, Aunty Edna, Molly and Leonard for the most magical, warm and beautiful experience staying with you. We will truly miss you all ❤️

Those were magical days! You really feel like you’re part of Paul and Mechelle’s family. We had a lot of privacy because you stay in a little house (Rock House!) that has a little fish lake and a big terrace on top to watch the stars at night. 🌌 At the same time, if you want you can spend time with the family playing with the kids!! It was my birthday and the family improvised a pizza-karaoke party with cake and everything, can you believe it? 🍕🎤 They are always available to help out, when my boyfriend got sick, Mechelle and the family took care of us as their own. He was back on his feet in no time. On the property you can see the bunnies jumping around 🐇 and the house cats are cute and cuddly. Oh! The pool is perfect! 🏊‍♀️There’s also a direct access to the sea and we were able to snorkel at sunset 🌅 They also arranged our tricycle from and to the port and the motorbike rental for the days we were at the island. 🏍️ We connected so much that I cried when I left, missing them so much. 🫂

Secluded location, a little difficult to find at first but well worth the find. Set back from the main road, you get your own private little villa-type room, with sun terrace and access to the shared pool. I can’t speak highly enough of the family that run it, they are simply lovely and so friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Outstanding stay - would highly recommend

This place is an absolute gem on the island of Siquijor. The detached room is spacious and private and just steps away from a little rocky beach. Totally solar-powered, which we loved, and truly idyllic. You can sit on the roof and watch the sunset in the evenings. Most importantly, Mechelle is an incredible host. She is gracious and kind, and went out of her way to help us on several occasions when we had unexpected things come up. Anyone would be honored to be her guest. So happy we booked!

I love this place. The family were super lovely and welcoming. You have your own private bungalow with a huge rooftop with an amazing view of the sea. It's very quiet so I could work. The garden is beautiful and there's about 6 or 7 fluffy rabbits - I kid you not - some hens (not roosters, thank goodness) and cats. There's even a small pond with quite a few fish in it on your private porch and a clean swimming pool ten metres away. And the WiFi is good there in the outdoor lounge area, perfect for working. I highly recommend this place. Thank you!!

I was very lucky to find this amazing and charming place. The house is peaceful and relaxing. The room is spacious and clean, set in a beautiful garden—and how amazing is it to have a private beach! Paul and Mechelle are incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with anything you might need. I am so grateful to them for making my stay so pleasant. I will definitely come back here!

I loved it all

The place is just as shown in the photos. It is really nice that you can go down to the beach (rocky) from the homestay. It is a really quiet place and the familiy is really welcoming. They even invited me to dinner and the party of one of the children's birthday. The room is nice, spacious and modern compared to other places in the Philippines. There were some reviews complaining about breakfast. You can have breakfast 5min away walking in a resort and they are building a kitchen to be able to serve meals too, so it would be a really nice improvement. They have a lot of rabbits in the garden. It is really funny see how they jump everywhere. If I comeback to Siquijor, I would love to come back here.

It was not a problem for me, but it is kind of in the middle of nowhere, so if you are not willing to pay a tuktuk to go anywhere or you don't want to rent a bike, please don't stay here. One improvement I will do is put some ant repellents or something similar, because ants get into the bathroom if you throw some food rests in the trash bin placed there.

Very quiet and relaxing location. Close to a local restaurant and small convenience stores. Beach front was fabulous. No crowds and access was easy and very private. Saw several turtles up close while snorkeling. Scuba dive shop was within walking distance. I'd definitely return and stay there again.

The hosts were so kind and helpful with everything, they had their two kids running around who wanted to play with us, same with their two cute 3 month old puppies! The accomodation has a direct access to the sea were you can swim with turtles during sunset relatively unbothered. We saw three on our one swim. We saw the prettiest night sky we’ve ever seen due to the missing light pollution, it was just so perfect We could have stayed a month!

Amazing private self contained building with gorgeous roof top veranda looking out to sea. Loved the clean and fresh swimming pool and beautiful gardens. Own path to sea (rocky) for snorkeling with turtles (at dusk). Hosts were extremely helpful. Great place to chill, we loved it!

Impressed that unit & hosts house run on solar power but this meant limited air conditioning (a little too warm for us) but screens at windows and fan to compensate. For same solar reason no refrigerator so no food could be kept in unit. Kettle and cups provided but all meals have to be purchased outside property. Luckily good eateries in walking distance and scooter hire possible. This did not affect our most enjoyable 3 night stay.

The room is spacious, with many storages. The bed is huge and very comfortable, perfect for couples (also good for 2 people and a kid). The cleanliness is on the highest level in whole house particularly in the bathroom. The whole family is very kind and helpful. You can see many beautiful flowers (for example calachuci, if i am not mistaken) in the garden which makes you feel relaxed. The surrounding area is very quite and peaceful, perfect for resting. The ocean is very near, water is clear and you can snorkel around and admire sea turtles. The swimming pool is also available in the garden. I highly recommend to stay in this house.

This place is the perfect vacation get away! We stayed almost a full week and enjoyed every minute. You‘ll stay in a super spacious and nicely furnished private room with a new bathroom and an incredible view from the roof top. The owner and the family are just lovely and so helpful. Bunnies are hoping through the garden where you can enjoy the pool. On top of that there is a direct access over the cliffs to a snorkel spot where we swam with turtles.

Not one thing to complain about! Even though I would definitely recommend this place for people that looking for recreation since there are few km to drive to restaurants and bars.

Honestly, we loved absolutely everything about this place! We ended up extending for 2 more nights and would have done many more if we had the time! The room was amazing - super clean, bed was so comfy and the room was huuuuge. The shower pressure and temp was perfect - we loved that everything is run on solar power! WiFi was great:) The roof top view was AWESOME for sunsets! You can also go down onto a private lil beach and go snorkelling - we saw so many turtles! They also have snorkels in the room - free of charge, which was awesome! Also they have bunnies hopping around the place, along with cats and the cutest golden retriever. There was also a waterfall pond just outside the room with fish and toads, which we thought was such a cool addition! All of this for such a good price! Most of all though - the family were just the most lovely people ever!! Sooo hospitable, welcoming and friendly - we are missing them already!! Best place we've stayed throughout our whole travelling experience. Honestly couldn't speak highly enough about this place - you definitely wouldn't regret staying here!!!
