Extremely hot so without a fan in the room was difficult to sleep. If you arrive on foot as I did be aware that there are no amenities anywhere close. So unless you bring your own food and drink you will have to do what I did and take the train, less than 15 minutes walk, to a larger town.

Reviewed Jun 17, 2026Ganz liebevoll und kreativ eingerichtete Zimmer, nicht überdekoriert (finde ich persönlich wichtig). Sehr freundliche Besitzer die alles erklären. Hervorragende Matratzen, super bequem. Gemeinschaftsbad muss man zeitlich einkalkulieren. In der Küche ist alles was man brauchen könnte um sich etwas zuzubereiten. Ich war sehr happy dort, das Haus hat eine schöne Energie.

Reviewed May 28, 2026This is a good alternative option for an overnight stay on the way to Zurich Airport. We stayed in a small but clean room that fit a family with two children. There is a nice green outdoor area where you can eat outside, a ping-pong table, and a well-equipped shared kitchen (though it fits two small families at most). The property has two shared bathrooms that were both spacious and clean (one with a shower, the other with a bathtub). The Wi-Fi speed was perfectly fine. The location features a small walking trail nearby, as well as a small park with lake access. Free private parking is available for two cars.
Because it's an old house, noise levels depend heavily on the other guests. We only had one neighbor, so we didn't bother each other, but it might feel much less comfortable if all the rooms were fully occupied. Our windows didn't have a view and faced the railway tracks, which some might find noisy. There is also construction next to the house, so there is almost no lake view from the guest areas. It is quite far from local cafes and grocery stores. Having a TV in the room would be a nice plus.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Einfach wunderbar für ein Backpacker Hüsli, Maggie ist sehr gastfreundlich und das mit den Gemeinschafts Bädern muss einem Bewusst sein, es ist kein Hotel mit Mega Housekeeping., es ist sehr fein und familiär gemacht zu einem Superpreis ! Kann ich auf alle Fälle weiterempfehlen und ich komme bestimmt wieder! Danke schön

Reviewed Oct 8, 2025Das Haus liegt oberhalb der Hauptstrasse und ist gut erreichbar. Wir wurden freundlich begrüsst und das Zimmer war bereits vorbereitet. Das Zimmer war genügend gross. Wir haben nur übernachtet. Nebst WC und Bad haben wir keine weiteren Angebote benötigt. Parkplatz war vorhanden.
Das Haus ist nicht das Neuste.

Stock war prima, die beiden Bäder und das Extra-WC waren sehr sauber, es gab Seife und einen Föhn, ja, sogar frische Blumen aus dem Garten! je ein großes Handtuch war ausreichend für 3 Nächte, die Einzelbetten waren breit genug, das Zimmer war praktisch, einfach eingerichtet. Überall im Haus finden sich originelle persönliche Sammlerstücke und viele schöne Originalbilder. Das Auto konnte auf dem Grundstück parken. Die Gastgeberin Mäggi war klar in ihren Ansagen und freundlich.
Da gibt es nichts.

Reviewed Jul 23, 2025Pokojík v podkroví byl útulný, postele pohodlné. K dispozici dvě sdílené koupelny pro několik pokojů, naprosto dostačující. Vařit a jíst jsme mohli ve společné dobře vybavené kuchyni (vařič, kávovar, varná konvice, nádobí, topinkovač...) V případě hezkého počasí je možno posedět i na zahradě s výhledem na jezero. Kola jsme měli uloženy v garáži v domě.
Do pokoje byl přístup po strmých schodech. Dalo se to zvládnout, ale při noční cestě na WC bylo potřeba dost opatrnosti. V pokoji bylo hodně teplo, ale k dispozici byl ventilátor.

Reviewed Feb 10, 2025This was a great place to stay. Plenty of space in the bedrooms. Great bathrooms. We all had a great time. The owners were vet welcoming. The house was lovely and warm and had parking we could use.
The kitchen/ dining room was a little cramped but we were trying to get 10 in place to cook and eat all at once.

Reviewed Aug 11, 2024It was very comfortable and affordable. We didn’t use the kitchen but it would be so nice if you’re looking to save money and/or staying for an extended period of time. It was a short walk to the lake/beach which was lovely. The host is very welcoming and accommodating. She drove us to the train station in her own car for no charge.
It’s a train ride from Zurich and a bus ride from the nearest train station. This didn’t deter us from staying as we knew the location ahead of time.

Reviewed Nov 11, 2023Our stay was absolutely perfect. We got everything we needed. Comfortable bed to sleep in, a shower room to get ourselves cleaned and a kitchen where we could eat our breakfast. We also needed WiFi which worked very well. Maggie, the hostess kindly helped us in every way. Also we needed late check-in and it was possible at 10pm. Thank you. We appreciate everything.
