Breakfast was served later than the informed time. It was supposed to start at 7:00 AM, but everything was only ready by 8:30 AM. The food was delicious—although there were not many options, it was still good enough to fill us up.

You need to walk downhill/a bit of hiking to get out of the hotel, which can be quite challenging for the elderly. It’s better to rent a car or a motorcycle.

We had a fab 4 nights at Woodcookies. Our room no. 3 was great with every convenience possible inc. a huge TV and fridge, Aircon, lovely king size bed with romantic white drapes and huge bathroom. To top it off you had your own private little pool. We did not use the pool as it was tricky to get in and out of but I'm sure Joe the owner could sort that with some wooden steps 😜. Yes it's on a bit of a steep hill but that just keeps you fitter! They also arranged pick up and drop of, laundry and scooter. Just round the corner were the two best restaurants on the island and the best beach. Lovely!

Hill was steep but ok. Breakfast could be a little better with more fruit options.

La struttura si trova su una salita impervia, impossibile da percorrere con motorini o taxi. Si è costretti a chiedere aiuto alla struttura che però è gestita da staff che non parla inglese, e quindi occorre sempre attendere di parlare con il titolare che impartisca ordini allo staff.

Der Pool vom Zimmer war sehr schön. Sehr große Zimmer. Bequeme Betten. Ruhig. Nettes Personal. Tolle Lage mit traumhaften Ausblick.

Sehr, sehr viele Mücken im Zimmer. Hinweis: Der Berg nach unten ist wirklich richtig steil. Falls man Probleme mit dem Knie hat oder ähnlichem eingeschränkt ist, wird man sich schwer tun rauf und runter zu kommen.

Geräumiges Zimmer, leckeres Frühstück und sehr freundliches Personal.

Zwar hat jeder Zimmer einen kleinen Privatpool, aber der ist (wegen der Affen) mit vielen Netzen und Planen umgeben, so dass eher ein bisschen Käfigfeeling aufkam.

El colchón es cómodo, el apartamento es amplio con aire acondicionado en ambas plantas. TV con Netflix y Wifi

El acceso es lo peor de este lugar, hay una cuesta muy empinada de tierra en mitad de la selva… El apartamento tiene piscina pero el agua está fría y para nosotros fue imposible usarla. Es una construcción de madera en mitad de la selva, ni el techo ni las paredes están bien selladas y hay todo tipo de insectos dentro contigo… El desayuno no varia ningún día y es muy escaso. Tampoco lo reponen, por lo que si vas a ultima hora es posible que no tengas mucho para comer.

Personal ist äußerst nett und hilfsbereit. Der Privatpool war perfekt erfrischend, die Bungalows sehr großzügig von der Größe her, schönes Design, sehr bequeme Betten. Das Frühstück war klein aber sehr fein (sehr leckere belegte Toasts!!)

The rooms quite spacious and clean, the wood design of the villas, the owner is very friendly and accomodating.

Few things maybe can be improve like cleanliness of villa pool & maybe smoothen little bit the pool side stones for convenience of walking down the pool side. Also maybe consider improving the finishing of the pool , it will sure be an added value becoz the concept and view is there.its very nice to sit outside the balcony drinking coffee looking af the pool and greens. The panaromic view at the garden overlooking the beach is super nice but could be improve if the small branches obstructing it could be trim.including the heart shape instragamable backdrop. The landscaping could be improve with lush greeneries & few flowers perhaps , though we understand that the owners perspective is to preserve the original look of the forest & let plants grow by there own which is quite amazing concept. The breakfast could be improve, though we highly apreciate that it was home cooked.

It rained during our 2 night stay and the rain was leaking through the roof, the second night it started leaking onto the sleeping area which disturbed us. I think the roof was metal as the noise of the rain was really loud.

I like the vibe of the room

There was no view inside the room. was expecting mountain and garden view as advertised.

The room was super nice and very comfortable, with a beautiful view of both the forest and the sea. Truly relaxing and peaceful! 🌿🌊 The pool was also super nice and added to the whole calming vibe of the stay. Perfect for a relaxing getaway. Highly recommended!

the place is not really older-people friendly, so might not be suitable for elderly guests.

We're a family of 4 and stayed three nights in the family suite. Loved it. Wonderful beds, great breakfast and the little private pool outside in the terrace was fab. Would do it any time again. M

The place was hard to reach and the stairs at the entrance were very steep, the breakfast was really substandard, the built-in platform around the bed was a safety hazard, the pool was rocky and uncomfortable for the kids, the lovely view was blocked and I am not sure why the place was more expensive than comparable properties.

Room was comfortable and clean. Swimming pool was not so clean because of leaves. Nice and quite place to stay. Even though the property is not so far from beach, it is not walkable especially for kids and elderly. The way to the property is very steep for some stretch.

Breakfast options were good but very limited. It will be good to have some vegetarian options as well.

Busy beach area on weekends, totally quiet during the week. 2min down the hill and you are in the middle of everything. Up on hill super quiet, nature, birds... Perfect!

The view from the private pool was obstructed by a fence and net, but it served the purpose to keep the monkeys away... So hard to argue about it.

Great guest house, cabin-like facility with a private pool, on top of the hill with trees all around and overlooking ocean view. It’s uniquely designed with simplicity in mind. The staff is always available and responsive.

It’s not something that we dislike but you might need to consider: If walking, prepare for a very steep walk up the hill. However, when we checked in and out, the staff picked us up in a private car and helped us get luggage in and out of our room; There are taxi, car and scooter rental service available.

The property is on a hill with a very steep access road flanged by deep ravine on both sides (no safety barrier and no street light). Once at the property I felt isolated and bored since I dared not drive to and fro of the property for safety concerns. There was no compound to stroll about and no out door facilities to enjoy thus I had to spend my time in the room only.

We had an amazing stay at Woodcookies Guesthouse! The owner was incredibly kind and thoughtful — he offered us a more suitable room for our young kids, complete with a private pool right outside the room for their safety, all at the same rate. When we decided to extend our stay, he generously maintained the same rate for the additional night. We also rented a car through them, which was in excellent condition and made our trip even more convenient. Every staff member we encountered, from the checkpoint at Joefisherman to the guesthouse, was extremely friendly and helpful. We absolutely loved the room, the pool, and especially the stunning sunset view. This place truly exceeded our expectations, and we will definitely be coming back. Thank you for making our stay so special!

The accommodation is clean, has private pools like Jakuzi style for each room. The services from the host and staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is luxurious and delicious. Also the scenery from uphill you can see the sea and the shore.

Steep path up to the hotel but the hotel staff were very helpful in transporting luggage and those who are not able to walk up or down. Could do with hand rails going to the pool and up to the rooms

Excellent seaview from hilltop. Got private pool. Tasty food. Friendly host. Warm hospitality. Got welcome drinks upon arrival. Clear briefing.Very considerate host (mr Ravi) to our mom climbing up stairs and give near room and convenient for her to walk. Besides, Near to teluk nipah food stalls and shops. Bonfire set up nicely. Cozy hammock. Clean environment. Can hear birds chirping. Can see hornbills. Not noisy. Got car rental and motor rental from host. Have coffee machine in the room.

Steep hill Entrance was challenging for old cars. Need skills to handling vehicle to climb up. Maintenance: roof leaking in toilet and main door due to heavy rain that night, broken wood floor at pool area, sharp harden cement bits in the pool give cuts to our legs. Other than that, we were all good!

Lovely staff, Ravi and his team were always available and happy yo help. The only noise at night were the frigs and cicadas outside - very peaceful. There is a very steep hill to get to the guesthouse but it was fun doing it on a motorbike

Mr. Ragu, the owner, goes above and beyond by personally meeting guests, offering useful tips on places to visit and dine, and checking in regularly to ensure everything is perfect. He even generously offered his Myvi car for our use at a very reasonable rate. Overall, our stay was exceptional, filled with memorable experiences that made for a perfect conclusion to 2024.

Nasi lemak was very good. Good coffee too. Also had a good coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was generally good but there’s no variety. Same food everyday. The room came with a a very large garden and pool which was quite unexpected. The photo in booking.com does not do it justice. Owner and staff very friendly and helpful.

No safety deposit box. No advisory about requiring transport for commuting due to its hilltop location.
