I stayed for roughly three weeks. I want to tell you it's good value for money. Comfortable (and the room was, for the most part) and all that good stuff. It's true. Here's why I gave my stay 1 star. 1. On the 10th of August, I received this voice note from Ida, the host. Here's a transcript I had generated for my formal complaint against this venue. “Hi, Zeenat, it’s Ida from the guest house. Margaret informed me that she hasn’t been, she wasn’t able to clean the room since you checked in. I need you to allow her access. She needs to clean the room. This isn’t a flat, and you’re not renting it. This is a guest house, and I need to clean the room and make sure that our facility is kept clean. So please give her access. Thank you, bye-bye.” I made her aware that I had been unwell for the past week and that I work with headphones. She could therefore give the domestic worker my number if that would make things easier to arrange cleaning. I was hyper apologetic, as I already felt her tone was hostile towards her guest without her taking the time to find out what was happening, but I let it slide. I just wanted it to be over. It was my mistake. This ended with me waiting 3–4 hours (two hours waiting on the domestic worker to get to my room, roughly another two for her to clean) for the room to be cleaned. I ended up having to speak to Margaret (domestic worker) myself to get my room cleaned, leading to more wasted time and confusion(hence the 4 hours this whole thing took). Those four hours cost me precious work time, as I work from home. I speak under correction, but I believe a guest is permitted to refuse cleaning services under Loop Le's rules. This is something I only later found out. Mind you, I never wished to deny them access in the first place. I was merely down with a fever and asleep for most of my first week there. They could have handled the situation better. 2. No hot water all weekend(on one of the weekends). I had a fever.

It is cold, there were just blankets, no air conditioning, no electric blanket. The walls are also thin, I could hear the TV next door. Could also look into having a bigger mat, especially for the winter, as the tiles are cold.

Shower water turned cold seconds after I got in. Had an allergic reaction to the aerosal dispenser. No heater in the middle of winter, so the room was freezing cold. I would say it was a fair stay, but they should have spent more money on basics like a heater or hot water, rather than the fancy trimmings in the room. They were nice, but not necessary, unlike heat and hot water in the middle of winter

Kan inte säga något eftersom det inte blev någon övernattning hos Loople, förutom att tjejen som hänvisade till andra stället var trevlig.

Upon arrival at 15:00, we were not informed which room was allocated to us. Several other guests were also confused and did not know their room numbers. As a result, we had to physically try all the keys and open multiple rooms to figure out which one belonged to us. This is completely unacceptable. We only received a WhatsApp message with our room number at 17:30 — two and a half hours after check-in time. That same evening, we met another guest who told us he had been staying there for a week without seeing any staff at all. He even began complaining to me because he assumed I was the host, which says a lot about the lack of management presence on the property. Although our room was clean and modern inside, the overall experience was terrible. The outside braai area lights shine directly through the windows all night. There are no curtains whatsoever, so the bright lights and then the early sunrise at 05:45 made proper rest impossible. The room was extremely hot, with no air-conditioning with only a fan. Around 00:00, the electricity in our room went off. The plugs stopped working, meaning the fan stopped as well. However, the kitchen plugs were working, and other guests still had power and functioning fans. We were left in unbearable heat, with sweat literally dripping off my face. I had to sit outside for most of the night just to cool down. I tried calling Ida multiple times and sent WhatsApp messages. There was absolutely no answer, no response, and not even a follow-up the next day. Complete silence. That level of disregard for paying guests is shocking. Based on my experience and the feedback from other guests, I genuinely question how this property received an award from Booking.com. This was, without exaggeration, the worst overnight stay I have ever experienced. I will be taking this matter further in order to request a refund. I would not recommend Looplé to anyone.
