It was a pleasure to stay here. Very accessible with amazing facilities, lovely hosts and very warm and cosy on a very cold night. Wonderful to have ‘extras’ like wine and breakfast food. The sofa bed was very comfortable- it’s a good idea to let the owners know beforehand if you need it. We were 2 singles. Thank you for a lovely stay. Highly recommended.

This is our second stay at Hillview. Everything is excellent here and that is the reason we have returned. Great location , comfortable and great value for money with friendly hosts. We totally recommend this accommodation.

The door was open, we were met by a lovely hostess who came inside with us, showed us where everything was and made us feel very welcome. Our first experience with bed and breakfast and it couldn't have been better.

We had a wonderful stay at this accommodation. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-equipped with everything we needed, making our stay easy and enjoyable. Everything was thoughtfully prepared, and the space felt warm and welcoming. The host was extremely friendly and kind.

Une petite maison dans un magnifique jardin, idéale pour se détendre, avec une petite terrasse. Les équipements sont modernes, lave linge et lave-vaisselle. Il y a vraiment tout le nécessaire. Nos hôtes nous ont laissé de gentilles attentions dans le frigo et les placards. Très bonne literie et bonne douche.

Peut-être rajouter un fauteuil de détente sur la terrasse en plus des chaises.

The unit is well appointed and very comfortable for a short or longer stay. Nice touches with food and sweet supplies. Makes it very welcoming and warm. Garden is beautiful and provides a lovely outlook from the living space. Highly recommend the stay for travellers wanting to stay somewhere between Queenstown and Christchurch. Well located for day trips to Omaru and Dunedin.

Liked everything about it. Nothing to add here. It is easy to find and well located. Waimate is worth exploring. Silo paintings and murals. Lots of creative people here obviously. We will definitely revisit.

Amazing place to stay at, there is everything you need and more. Lovely breakfast was available for us. The place is very spacious and the little deck is amazing with good weather to enjoy the gorgeous garden! Bed was comfortable, shower was nice and hot, there is a full kitchen with pots, pans and everything else you might need. Very lovely place run by a lovely couple! Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

Very tidy, warm unit with all amenities.

We loved the location, the closeness to town by car, lovely outlook from the deck, views of country and loved the aspects of the section, ie fish pond, but forgot my fishing rod, lol. Accommodation is superb, has everything we needed including continental breakfast with eggs.

Just a preference because of the weather a gravel drive way, felt bad about messing up there lawn entrance.

A few more cushions or pillows would have made the place more comfy. Unfortunately we can't help the weather but the parking area became quite muddy

Bed was a bit hard for us

The friendly host came to greet me on my arrival. The home was easy to find and very comfortable and warm. The view of the beautiful gardens and sheep were a delight. A substantial breakfast were included. Ample parking available and the bed was very comfortable.

This is a beautiful new unit with brand new appliances and a comfy bed! Locayed behind the owners house it is private and comfortable.

It is spacious, well appointed, and also in a gorgeous garden - I could happily live here permanently. This was our second stay, and look forward to returning again. The gas oven top was a bonus.

The location was so peaceful, and scenic. It was quiet but close to the town centre. Everything we needed was there, including extra treats like juice and cereal+fruits, tea, coffee sachets, basic toiletries! The owners thought of everything!

What a gem!! On arrival we were welcomed by our host Colleen who was exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. A beautifully spec'd self catering private country retreat with everything one needs for a pleasant stay plus a few extras (Surprises 😀). In addition to the neat and tidy dwelling you have an expansive deck to sit and relax overlooking the private pond and garden.

it was so spacious’ light and welcoming. the owners could not have. been more generous or helpful. we needed for nothing. Our only sadness was that we couldn’t stay another week as WAIMATE is such a jewel of a town. it has history abundant, fantastic scenery, that starts at Hillview literally. and the location of this superb accommodation facilitated exploration of a region of SOUTH ISLAND NZ we were not familiar with. we unreservedly recommend HILLVIEW as a first rate spot with first rate facilities to suit your needs. thank you Colleen and Jeff for making our stay so enjoyable.
