Das Hotel hat eine schöne Lage mit Strandzugang. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Essen im eigenen Restaurat ist echt super.

I highly recommend Adaar Hotel. I initially booked another hotel in Trincomalee, but after arriving and seeing the severe pollution in some areas around Trincomalee, including open waste dumps everywhere and rubbish on the beach I decided to change my reservation at the last minute and stay at Adaar instead. From the beginning, my experience at Adaar Hotel was outstanding. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly, attentive and accommodating, especially the restaurant team and the reception staff. They genuinely pay attention to details. For example, we always chose the same table in the restaurant, and when the hotel became busier, the staff took the initiative to place a “Reserved for room ...” sign on that table for us. It is a small gesture, but it made us feel truly welcomed. During our stay, we had the opportunity to try a large part of the restaurant’s menu. The selection is varied without being excessively large, which gave us the impression that the ingredients were fresh and the dishes were prepared with care. Everything we tried was delicious. (Except the chicken burger that I did not like). In my experience, staying at a high-end hotel in Sri Lanka does not always guarantee having a good restaurant, so this was another major positive point. The hotel itself is well designed and well maintained. Our room was clean and comfortable, although perhaps slightly dark. We particularly appreciated having an outdoor bathroom in addition to the indoor one. The swimming pool is spacious and clean, and pleasantly, it does not have a strong chlorine smell. There is also direct access to the beach from the back of the hotel. The beach is cleaned in front of the property, although unfortunately there are still some small pieces of plastic in the sand further along the shore. This is a real shame, but it is clearly a wider environmental issue affecting the area rather than a reflection of the hotel’s own efforts.

There are, of course, a few areas that could still be improved in order to fully align with the standards expected of a five-star hotel. I would be happy to share these suggestions with the management as part of a constructive and continuous improvement process, should they be interested in contacting me.

La colazione alla carta la trovo un'assurdità ed è molto limitante come scelte, il buffet è più apprezzato. In generale, la qualità del cibo al ristorante non mi ha molto soddisfatto. La spiaggia di fronte l'albergo molto sporca (questa purtroppo è una problematica di tutte le spiagge dello Sri Lanka) Ho prenotato su booking ad un prezzo, con pagamento in loco. al momento dell'arrivo ho dovuto pagare 100 euro in più, senza motivo.

Wonderful hotel

Einfach perfekt – absolute Empfehlung! Unser Aufenthalt im Adar Hotel war von Anfang bis Ende einfach perfekt. Das Hotel wurde erst vor rund eineinhalb Jahren erbaut und ist entsprechend modern und sehr gepflegt. Besonders aufgefallen ist uns die aussergewöhnliche Sauberkeit – ständig kümmern sich mehrere Mitarbeitende darum, dass die gesamte Anlage und die Umgebung sauber und gepflegt bleiben. Die Zimmer sind sehr grosszügig und wunderschön gestaltet. Wir hatten ein Superior Zimmer mit sehr hohen Decken und einer absolut traumhaften Aussicht. Ein weiteres Highlight ist die ruhige Lage etwas abseits. Dadurch hat man den wunderschönen Strand praktisch für sich alleine. Perfekt für lange Spaziergänge am Abend oder um morgens in aller Ruhe den Sonnenaufgang zu geniessen. Das gesamte Personal ist extrem freundlich und herzlich. Man merkt, dass sich wirklich alle sehr viel Mühe geben und versuchen, einem jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Ganz besonders hervorheben möchten wir jedoch den Koch – das Essen war schlichtweg fantastisch! Unser grösster Fehler war, dass wir am ersten Abend auswärts in einem Seafood-Restaurant gegessen haben. Am zweiten Abend haben wir im Adar Hotel gegessen und das Seafood war um Welten besser. Wir genossen ein hervorragendes Fünf-Gänge-Menü für nur 7’000 LKR – für diese Qualität ein unglaublich gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Wer Ruhe, einen wunderschönen Strand, grosszügige Zimmer, hervorragendes Essen und aussergewöhnlich freundliches Personal sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Wir können das Adar Hotel uneingeschränkt empfehlen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen!

Absolut nichts!

Beautiful place, surrounded by nature. Comfortable, specious rooms. Amazing and really nice stuff, and good food. They also made the effort to make special GF meals for my coeliac daughter. Strongly recommended.

It’s quite far from where the action takes place, so need to travel if you want a night out. Amazing for couples who want the quiet, serene atmosphere, less for families.

Erg mooi opgezet kleinschalig resort met zeer mooi ingerichte en opmerkelijk ruime kamers. Mooi zwembad direct aan het strand. Personeel is super en heeft alle aandacht voor zijn gasten. Ook met vervoer naar Tricomalee en snorkel en duik tripjes zijn we prima door hen geholpen . Aanrader…

Het is wel ietsjes verder uit het centrum van Tricomalee maar met de Tuk Tuks was dit toch prima te doen.

Les chambres sont grandes et confortables. La piscine est très belle dans un cadre tout aussi charmant et calme. Il y a également un accès direct à la plage. Le personnel est attentionné et serviable. Le restaurant est agréable et à des prix raisonnables.

La clim est un petit peu bruyante et l’emplacement est éloigné mais il y a un service de tuktuk pour nous déposer en centre ville. Le service est de grande qualité mais manque peut-être d’attention particulière en fonction des activités

Beachfront Paradise We had an incredible stay at Adaar and absolutely loved this beautiful boutique resort. The property is peaceful, stylish, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The best part was the direct access to the beach—simply open the backyard gate and you're on your own stretch of paradise. It truly felt like having a private beach. The beach was exceptionally clean, easily one of the cleanest we visited during our trip to Sri Lanka Everything about our stay was comfortable and memorable.

It feels absolutely paradise-like. - The dragonflies around the property are beautiful and create a truly magical atmosphere. - Daily housekeeping service. - Large bathroom with hot water and excellent water pressure. - Complimentary toiletries, including a vanity kit and toothbrushes, as well as bath towels and beach towels. Absolutely exceptional. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

- Providing bathrobes or lightweight robes in the room would be a real plus, to avoid guests having to walk around the property in swimwear when going to the pool. It also avoids seeing other guests walking around in just their swimsuits, or having to walk around ourselves with only a towel wrapped around us. For added comfort and to enhance the overall guest experience, this would be a lovely addition to offer in the rooms. This is only a small point that came to my mind when I was heading down to the pool. It was not a major inconvenience, but for a 5-star standard, it is something that is often provided in other properties. The same applies to flip-flops or slippers. - I would also recommend providing more complimentary water bottles, or offering unlimited filtered drinking water. We purchased quite a few bottles of water from the bar during our stay. Although the prices are reasonable, providing glass bottles and free filtered drinking water would be a more sustainable and environmentally friendly option.

Beautiful Hotel with beautiful Beach. It was a pleasure staying there. Especially the Service staffs Prasanna, Thira and Miline made our stay unforgettable.

We had the privilege of staying at the Adaar for three nights with our teenage daughters. It is a truly exceptional hotel in every way! The hotel design is beautiful, and the grounds and pool area are stunning and impeccably well maintained. Everything is so green and lush, and then at the end of the property there is a gate which leads you out onto the most perfect beach, it's magical to walk through the gate and see the white sand and turquoise Indian Ocean! The beach is private to the hotel, and you have a feeling of such secluded peace and tranquility. The whole team of hotel staff worked so hard and made us feel incredibly welcome. Everyone was warm, friendly, and genuinely keen to ensure we had the best possible stay. The food was excellent, the best we had in Sri Lanka, with plenty of choice and fresh and interesting dishes. Breakfast was really enjoyable, and the restaurant staff were so kind and attentive, they really went above and beyond to help, and nothing was too much trouble - their hospitality was exceptional. The rooms where very well laid out, spacious and beautifully designed, with great air-conditioning, and we even had an wonderful outdoor shower. A big thank you to the entire team for making our stay so perfect. We left with wonderful memories of the days we spent here, and we could not recommend the Adaar highly enough - we hope to return in the future!

I spent a week at Adaar Resort in Kuchchaveli and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. In fact, by the time it was over, I wished I could have extended it. The resort offers modern facilities while maintaining an authentic Sri Lankan feel. The décor is tasteful, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the entire property is exceptionally well maintained. The beach was private, clean, peaceful, and never crowded. The pool was large, spotless, and quiet, making it a perfect place to relax. I also appreciated how well the grounds were maintained. The gardens are beautiful, and it is clear that the hardworking gardening team takes great pride in their work. What truly makes Adaar special is its staff. The restaurant team was outstanding throughout my stay. Having spent a week at the resort, I managed to try almost every dish on the menu, and every meal was excellent. A special thank you to Tiran, Prasanna, and Milinda for their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. They were always approachable, attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to help. The reception team was equally wonderful. Jayantha and Yalavan were incredibly welcoming and helpful, assisting me with organising tours and ensuring everything went smoothly. Their kindness and hospitality were greatly appreciated. I would also like to recognise the housekeeping team, who worked hard behind the scenes to keep everything spotless and were always available when assistance was needed. The fitness room was well equipped and contained everything needed for a good workout. As a solo traveller, I felt safe, welcomed, and very well looked after throughout my stay. The entire team contributed to making Adaar feel like a home away from home. I would happily recommend Adaar Resort in Kuchchaveli to anyone looking for peace, beautiful nature, excellent food, and genuinely caring staff. Everything was fantastic!

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Adaar with our 11-month-old daughter. The hotel is a true hidden gem, with only 14 rooms, creating a peaceful, intimate and exclusive atmosphere. Located away from the city, it is the perfect place to relax. The beach is beautiful, quiet and just a few steps from the hotel, making it the perfect place to relax, take long walks and enjoy a swim in the ocean. Our room was spacious, beautifully designed, spotlessly clean and extremely comfortable. The swimming pool is fantastic, and breakfast offered a good variety to start the day. What truly made our experience unforgettable was the incredible kindness of the staff. A very special thank you to Prasanna, who took exceptional care of us from the moment we arrived until we left. His warmth, professionalism and genuine attention made our stay even better than we could have imagined. He is a real credit to Adaar. We would not hesitate to stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful, elegant and memorable stay near Trincomalee.

Breakfast is served à la carte, which is nice, but we felt the selection could be a little more varied. It would also be great if guests were proactively asked whether they would like anything else, as it wasn’t obvious that additional items could be requested. Overall, the breakfast was enjoyable, but there is still some room for improvement. The restaurant itself is lovely, with a beautiful setting and excellent service. We genuinely enjoyed every meal we had there, and once again, Prasanna and his colleague made every dining experience a pleasure. Our only suggestion would concern the pricing. While the food was good, we felt the prices set expectations for an even more refined culinary experience. Either slightly more competitive prices or a further elevation of the cuisine would make the value for money feel perfectly aligned. This is only a minor observation and certainly did not detract from what was an exceptional stay.

Le service est impeccable, ce qui est rare, grâce a un personnel local très bien formé. Le restaurant est excellent et le petit déjeuner m’a été préparé spécialement car je partais de bonne heure. Je recommande sans hésiter.

Ma chambre donnait sur la cour, ce qui est sans doute moins bien que la vue cote jardin.

Das Hotel hat zwar eher wenige, dafür jedoch sehr grosszügige Zimmer zu bieten. Die Zimmerdecken sind sehr hoch und im Allgemeinen bieten die Zimmer sehr viel Platz. Das Bad ist ebenfalls sehr gross und hat eine tolle, moderne Ausstattung. Unser Zimmer hat uns einen schönen Ausblick in den Innenhof des Hotels resp. auf den Pool geboten. Das Personal war extrem freundlich, respektvoll und zuvorkommend. Das Personal war zu keiner Zeit aufdringlich und respektierte unsere Privatsphäre. Das Hotel bietet ausserdem direkten Zugang zu einem privaten Strandabschnitt. Der Strand sowie das Meer waren in diesem Bereich sehr sauber. Ein spezielles Lob gilt dem Koch/ der Köchin des Hotels. Das Essen, egal ab Frühstück oder Abendessen, waren ein Traum - wirklich 10/10! Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt rundum genossen und würden jederzeit wieder kommen.

Leider waren während unseres Aufenthalts kaum weitere Gäste im Hotel. Dies sorgte für uns als Gäste zu einer speziellen Stimmung (wobei das Hotel/ Personal darauf keinen Einfluss hat). Das Hotel liegt sehr abseits von allem :-) Dies war uns beim Buchen des Hotels nicht so bewusst! Um einen Ausflug zu machen, war man stets auf ein TukTuk oder ein anderes Transportmittel angewiesen. Mit dem TukTuk dauerte es z.B. 20min bis zum Nilaveli Beach oder 35min bis nach Uppuveli (ein Weg). Leider gab es keine Liegen/ Sonnenschirme direkt am Strand/ am Meer. Die Terrasse unseres Zimmers war ausserdem leider mit einer Schutzplane verhüllt, aufgrund der vielen Insekten (v.a. Libellen). Dadurch staute sich die Hitze auf der Terrasse sehr und war leider nicht sehr einladend, um dort am Abend noch zu sitzen, ein Spiel zu spielen oder ein Bierchen zu trinken.

Superbe petit hotel ( 14 chambres) , très belle architecture , récent ( 2024). . Très beau jardin et plage immaculée. Tres bonne nouriture. Quand vous arrivez dans cette hotel , c est comme vous vous installé dans votre villa privée en bord de plage . Calme et sérénité.

Hotel muito bonito e bem decorado. Toda a estrutura em volta da piscina está muito bem pensada para usufruir dos espaços exteriores. A praia em frente é praticamente deserta. os funcionarios são todos excepcionais, sempre atentos aos detalhes, de modo a tornar a nossa estadia muito agradável. Quarto muito confortável e espaçoso, com todas as comunidades necessárias. Tudo o que comemos, e fizemos quase todas as refeições dos 4 dias aqui, estava muito saboroso e bem cozinhado. Sendo o local bastante isolado, acabamos por fazer quase todas as refeições no hotel e gostamos, mas pode ser um ponto negativo para algumas pessoas o facto de não haver outro tipo de oferta nas proximidades. O Hotel tem um tuktuk elétrico que podem reservar para algum passeio ou visita, por um custo adicional.

pagamento da taxa extra por check-out tardio. O valor pago foi um pouco mais elevado que o valor indicado no booking e não souberem explicar o porque. Talvez uma taxa de pagamento por cartão, como aconteceu em outros alojamentos do Sri Lanka, mas não nos foi explicado e isso foi desconfortável. Em todas as outras estadias do Sri Lanka, o valor bateu certo com o valor do booking, por isso não se trata do valor de conversão da moeda.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The property is perfect for a relaxing getaway. However, I should note that without a car, getting around is quite challenging. The hotel has its own access to a beautiful, and seemingly endless beach where you’ll often find yourselves completely alone. The pool area is also stunning - clean, well-landscaped, and a pleasure to spend time in. The staff is attentive and always ready to help with a smile. This was especially evident in the restaurant - the service there was great, with warm staff who clearly follow hospitality standards. We did have one issue: the soundproofing in our first room was poor, and we could hear a lot of noise from neighboring rooms. The good news is that management took it very seriously, found a quick solution, and moved us to a more comfortable room, but we were lucky that one was available.

Uns hat es ausgesprochen gut gefallen in dieser Oase der Ruhe! Der Besitzer hat diese außergewöhnliche Architektur absolut großartig gestaltet. Der Bereich zum Essen, direkt davor der Bereich, mit gemütliche Lounge Sessel und daran anschließend der große wunderschöne Pool mit Blick aufs Meer…einfach ein Träumchen! Der Hotel eigene Strand ist sauber und es lässt sich prima im Meer baden. Das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und lecker, das Abendessen ausgezeichnet und mit Piano Musik unterlegt und war zudem zu ganz entspannten Preisen zu haben. Das Personal war ausgesprochen freundlich und aufmerksam und hat uns mehr oder weniger jeden Wunsch von den Augen abgelesen. Ich übertreibe wirklich nicht…

Wir hatten das Zimmer in der Basic Kategorie. Das würden wir beim nächsten Mal auf jeden Fall upgraden, da dieses Zimmer eine Zwischentür zum nächsten Zimmer hatte und wir das eine oder andere Mal vom Geschehen im Nachbarzimmer geweckt wurden…

Magnifique hôtel à taille humaine, chambres très confortables, espaces extérieurs magiques entre la piscine et le chemin qui mène à la plage. Belle salle de sport. Personnel très agréable et bon restaurant. L'emplacement est superbe, avec accès à la plage qui est quasiment privée car isolée !

Rien, mais juste une précision : l'hôtel est assez isolé et conviendra aux personnes à qui ça plait. Nous, on a adoré !

Väldigt väl underhållit rent och fint. Vi besökte några stränder i omgivningarna men hotellets strand var klart bäst. Personalen bar ner solstolar och man var nästan själv på stranden. Ljuvligt.

Fick några närgångna frågor av hotel managern om varför vi inte åt middag på hotellet. Väldigt otrevligt och oprofessionellt.

Die Unterkunft ist sehr schön von den Gebäuden und dem Pool. Das Personal ist super hilfsbereit und freundlich. Ich würde jederzeit nochmals kommen.

Wenn man aus dieser Unterkunft tritt, ist der Strand vor der Unterkunft sauber. Wenn man rechts und links geht, liegt sehr viel Plastikmüll am Strand. Ich habe den Hotelmanager darauf angesprochen und der hat gesagt ich sollte halt gerade ausschauen und nicht nach rechts und links schauen. Ich habe auch mit Manager an anderen Stränden gesprochen die haben mir gesagt, dass sie für Geld den Strand auch rechts und links reinigen lassen. Ich weiß natürlich, dass das Hotel nichts für den Müll am Strand kann.

It’s a bit remote but if it’s rest and relaxation you after then this is the place.

Breakfast and dinner were both good and the staff were very accommodating and helpful. The swimming pool was the highlight for us, good size and the hotel/rooms are spotless. The maintenance of the gardens and grounds was outstanding.

Our first evening meal was very disappointing, overcooked prawns which could of been frozen? Everything improved from then onwards. The coffee is not great either, but this seems to be common in Sri Lanka.

Great staff,good value for money for size of suite,remote location few tourists suits us.Only 14 rooms.Very low occupancy during our stay made it very personal. Food was excellent. Other reviews have complained about the cost, but in comparison to the likes of the UGA chain they are inexpensive and in our experience much better quality. Beach by hotel kept clean.Unfortunatly not a reflection on the hotel but of our world today the long beautiful beach either side is littered with plastic.A problem for all Asia. Something that needs tackling at government level if they value tourism.

Not a complaint but suites could do with bathrobes

très bel hotel, piscine et jardin magnifique, mobilier de très bon goût. Le soir c'est magique (illumination du jardin et de la piscine), personnel aux petits soins, calme, plage privée et déserte juste devant. Très bel endroit pour se reposer. on a beaucoup apprécié aussi la très belle douche extérieure privative.

La déco de la chambre peut être un peu trop austère (les parties communes en revanche sont très élégantes!)

Inizialmente mi avevano dato una stanza al Piano Terra con affaccio diretto su piscina e ristorante (no privacy, dovevo tenere tutte le finestre chiuse tutto il giorno) ed inoltre la doccia allagava il bagno. Dopo 2 notti, su mia insistenza, mi hanno dato una camera al primo piano e di categoria superiore senza sovrapprezzo. Lì siamo stati divinamente!

La stanza al Piano Terra sul ristorante non ha privacy e per il prezzo che si paga è inaccettabile. Dovrebbero migliorare il menu e il ristorante. Colazione ok ma ne abbiamo viste di molto migliori per quello standard di prezzo. La spiaggia (per quanto meravigliosa) è completamente non attrezzata: qualche lettino in spiaggia sarebbe stupendo!

Our stay at your hotel was truly special. The staff were incredibly kind, attentive, and professional — it’s clear they love what they do and do it at the highest level. We felt truly cared for every moment. The hotel itself is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed. Отель новый, номера большие и светлые. В номере есть все что нужно для комфортного проживания. Персонал отличный, все вопросы решают быстро. Уборка в номере ежедневно. На территории отеля есть не плохой спортзал, отличный бассейн и сад, который персонал убирает днем и ночью. За воротами свой пляж который тоже постоянно убирают. Жаль что были вне сезона. Очень высокие волны. Ресторан при отеле отличный, еда вкусная любая. Есть местная, европейская кухня. Вкусно все. Официантам в отеле особый респект, самые милые люди в мире. Общий вывод: классный отель на твердую девятку!!!

Из минусов все таки расположение. Рядом нет ни магазинов, ни кафе, ни ресторанов. Везде надо ехать. Пешком очень далеко. Еда в ресторане дороговата на мой взгляд.

Tout. Chambre magnifique avec terrasse privée. La cuisine du restaurant est juste incroyable. Curry, crabe. Petits déjeuners très bons et copieux.

Wir haben fünf Nächte im Adaar Hotel verbracht und es war alles nach unserer Zufriedenheit. Die Zimmer sind wirklich schön eingerichtet und sauber. Das Personal steht einem für alle Fragen zur Verfügung und war wirklich sehr zuvorkommend.

Lokalizacja przy samej plaży. Spory basen i dbający o klienta personel- czasem aż za bardzo. Dobre jedzenie- szkoda czasu na jeżdżenie po okolicy.

Trochę narzucający się personel- jak Gość czegoś chce, to przyjdzie i nie trzeba przybiegać kilka razy. Jednak to przywara całej Sri Lanki.

Everything! Secluded, far from the city. We were a bit worried it is far from city center but ended up staying on the property for whole 3 days without leaving at all. Amazing room, private empty beach. Building is beautiful, spacious and very well designed. Your eyes will be resting wherever you look. Staff is super attentive and takes care of anything sometimes before you know you want it. The food is delicious, pricy compared to Sri Lanka but definitely worth the value. Mutton biriyani was out of this world. We were in a low season and there was only 6-10 guests in the hotel. Altogether about 15 rooms on the property. Wake up early to catch the sunrise! Worth every rupee

Nothing bad to say, everything was excellent. Don’t listen to bad reviews here, people were expecting something else. You are in the middle of a beach jungle… There are mosquitoes, insects, gekos and the rest of band but staff meticulously cleans everything throughout the day.

Mooie accomodatie met ruime kamers, mooie tuin en zwembad. Erg gevarieerd en ruim ontbijt. Personeel erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Prachtig eenzaam en verlaten strand.

Eerste vraag bij aankomst is om je verblijf vooraf te betalen en ligging erg afgelegen van alles (+- 25 min van het centrum).

Понравилось все. Замечательные номера, зеленая территория отеля. Отзывчивый персонал. Особенно понравился пляж, пустынный, только мы и море. Утром на пляж выносят лежаки. Ужинали так же в отеле, все вкусно и не завышены цены, даже дешевле чем в городе.

Super schöne und besondere Anlage und tolle Zimmer!

Leider war das Essen im Hotel schrecklich und das Geld auf gar keinen Fall wert. Das Personal ist zwar bemüht aber spricht so gut wie kein Englisch. Außerdem fragen sie sehr aufdringlich ob man im Hotel essen will obwohl man dies mehrmals verneint hat. Last auf gar keinen fall irgendwo im Zimmer Geld liegen sonder packt es in euren Safe! Uns wurden leider 60€ aus dem versteckten Rucksack geklaut und das Personal war nicht bemüht sich dafür in irgendeiner Art zu entschuldigen.

L’hôtel, le personnel peut expérimenté , mais largement compensé par leur gentillesse , le petit déjeuné, les repas, la piscine la plage. Contrairement à ce qui a été écrit précédemment, nous avons pu avoir des fauteuils au bord de la mer, il suffit de leur demander. Rapport qualité, prix, excellent. nous y sommes restés trois jours et nous y serions bien restés 2/3 jours en plus pour profiter de la mer et de la piscine.

Nous avons passé 4 jours de rêve dans cet hôtel magnifique. Le personnel est d’une grande gentillesse. La piscine, les chambres, le confort, le calme, la mer, le restaurant… tout est parfait pour ceux qui aiment passer des vacances loin du vacarme et des flots de touristes. On a adoré !
