Reviewed Sep 17, 2026Das Essen und die Getränke war sehr gut, wenngleich die Preise im Vergleich recht hoch waren - speziell im Restaurant. Die Strand-Bar bot jedoch eine günstigere Alternativen.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich ohne besonders aufdringlich zu wirken.
Der gesamte Strand an dem das Hotel liegt ist sehr sauber. (Die Schwarzen schlieren im Sand stammen von schwarzem Mineral-Gestein aus der Region nördlich davon.)
Insekten- und Spinnen-Probleme waren trotz der Urwald-Lage nahezu nicht vorhanden, da das Hotel wohl gezielt mit Pestiziden arbeitet.
Trotz der zahlreichen Zimmer (45+) wirkt die eingewachsene Anlage sehr weitläufig.
Wege, Anlagen und Strand waren sehr sauber und gepflegt.
Was man wissen sollte: Der Strand, so schön und einsam er ist, bietet jedoch nicht den perfekten Karibik-Look des nur wenige Kilometer südlich liegenden Nilaveli-Beach.
Die Hoteleigene Schnorchel-Tour war im Vergleich teuer, dafür wurde man aber am Hotelstrand abgeholt und wieder abgesetzt.

Reviewed Sep 15, 2026Stunning jungle themed decoration. Buildings and interiors beautifully conceived. I can’t imagine a quieter beach. No other people or buildings in either direction. Abundance of wildlife. Enough space for everyone spread between beach and pool. Terrific beach bar with food. Possibly my favourite ever hotel.
Minerals in the sand mean some of it is black. Fine with us if it puts of some people and it remains quiet and special.

Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the beautiful decor to the seamless indoor-outdoor living spaces, which make the whole place feel so peaceful and connected to nature.

Accès à la plage direct avec des transats prévus à cet effet,
Plage déserte.
Excursion organisée par l’hôtel génial pour voir les tortues et les requins.
Avec un bar de plage qui sert des plats et des boissons,
La nourriture était délicieuse et les cocktails également.
Rien à dire tout était parfait merci beaucoup ! 😊
Les prix sont plus élevés qu’ailleurs et en USD.

- localisation géniale : au cœur de la jungle et sur une plage déserte avec seulement cet hôtel sur la plage
- plage parfaite : immense, calme, mer calme, facile de se baigner, bar / restaurant sur la plage
- staff : très grand professionnalisme, tous super compétents, réactifs, à l’heure, très souriants, très aimables, : que ce soit au restaurant, serveurs au top très souriants, qui se rappellent de nos habitudes, au spa, les dames ont été très douces et respectueuses, à la plage, super service, pendant l’activité de snorkeling pour aller sur pigeon island où les 2 messieurs ont été très compétents, complaisants et respectueux, room service du soir : parfait, discret, tout était nickel.
Et mention spéciale à Ishara, Guest relations executive qui a été aux petits soins pour nous, qui a trouvé des solutions pour tout : nous laisser dans notre chambre alors qu’initialement nous devions en changer pour une moins bien, arrangement pour le spa, soins médicaux très rapides, médecin qui est venu également très rapidement
- chambre splendide : très spacieuse, au cœur de la jungle. très propre, salle de bain intérieure et extérieure, très agréable.
- nourriture : délicieuse : tout est à la carte et ça change tout, les poissons sont incroyables, le chef s’adapte aux allergies, les pâtes sont délicieuses ! Pas trop de temps d’attente pour les plats.
- très belle décoration de l’hôtel. C’est charmant, raffiné.

Beautiful location. The beach there is incredible. Staff are exceptionally friendly. Very helpful - always. Rooms were very good size. Food was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay there.
Unsurprisingly eating at the hotel was very expensive. Food is great but expensive. Also if you are a family of more than four triple check how many people the rooms can accommodate.

Reviewed Jul 15, 2026It was really stylish yet relaxed - the furnishings and bathrooms were really lovely. Lived the beach access and facilities as well as lovely pool to relax around. The gym was well air conditioned too!
Nothing really - you have to be ok with wildlife roaming the hotel - if you’re not then it’s not your place to stay! Staff were always on hand though.

Reviewed Jun 11, 2026This resort is phenomenal. Watching the sunsets on the beach was a favourite of ours, sand just stretched for miles down the coast and we were the only ones on that beach. The staff were also so kind and accommodating, they sorted anything we needed out, Tuk tuks to Tricomolee, diving, snorkeling etc etc
The seafood BBQ on the beach was the highlight for us after a few drinks at the beach bar for sunset the BBQ was phenomenal. 10/10 cannot recommend more

From the warm welcome with a twist (writing our wishes and adding them to the Wish Tree in reception), to the attentive service across the board, to the excellent food. The rooms were phenomenal - big, spacious, comfortable. The staff did everything they could to accommodate a late check-out request, and went above and beyond to arrange two birthday cakes for two birthdays. The dinner on the beach was outstanding. Can't wait to come back for longer.

We had the beach villa, and although these villas are closest to the beach they did not have beach views. Which was ok, but surprised us.
Beach bar was fun, service team delightful and food excellent.
Breakfast was delicious.
Some distance (25km) from Trincomalee which meant the property was a destination.

Wirklich tolles und schönes Hotel mit wunderbar ruhigem Strand! Das Personal ist extrem freundlich und die Ausstattung war super und das Zimmer sehr sauber und grosszügig.
Dass die Preise grundsätzlich in USD angeschrieben waren und nicht in Rupees. Die meisten Gäste sind nämlich nicht Amerikaner...

Reviewed May 1, 2026Tolle Hotelanlage mit schönem Pool und direktem Strandzugang. Wir bekamen bei Ankunft ein gratis Upgrade in Strand-Villas. Sehr gemütliche Zimmer mit grosszügigem Bad sowie Aussendusche. Leckeres Essen, jedoch im Vergleich eher teuer. Sehr gute Massage! Freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal und angenehme Atmosphäre.

Reviewed Apr 18, 2026We loved the genuine effort made by every member of staff to ensure we were comfortable during our entire stay. Always present in the background like a host of angels, there is no better way of describing them. Ishara, Mithila and Fais are the names I remember, but that doesn’t mean that the rest of the staff are any less wonderful.
This is a fairly large set up but it felt as if we had the place to ourselves, as if there were only a few other guests at the resort. We had a jungle cabin, and the level of privacy was very high. The room was beautiful, spacious and comfortable. The only regret I had was that we had to have the airconditioning on all night - but that is because of a very personal preference to sleep with open windows.
The breakfast was a wonderful begin to each day, with great variety, and delicious coffee and fresh juices.
We were on à la carte and enjoyed every meal at the main restaurant as well as a memorable one at the beach outlet.
We had a dip in the sea, walked on the (super clean) beach with beautiful black sand, and swam in the lovely pool to cool off in the late afternoon. Lots of monkeys, birds and other small wildlife providing unexpected entertainment. This was the most enjoyable holiday I’ve had at a Sri Lankan hotel in the last ten years. Hope to come back for more ….
A little note to the chef here: please pay attention to the fruit used for the beli juice. One tiny bit of spoilage ruins the entire batch. This is the only negative experience I had during the entire stay.

A parton a konyhában kivállo ételeket készített nekünk Gayan es Manupa.
A bárban Viman, Roesh, és Dilsahan is nagyon segítőkészek és kedvesek voltak! Reggel este takarítás, nagyon naxgy tisztaság. A kertben majmok, mókusok, rengeteg madár!

Reviewed Jun 29, 2025We had such a lovely stay — this place is a hidden gem! The staff were super friendly and made us feel so welcome from the start. The whole hotel has a beautiful, calm aesthetic that feels both quaint and private, which made the experience extra special.
The beach is stunning, the pool is just as beautiful, and the food? Absolutely amazing. Everything about our stay felt thoughtful and relaxing.
100% recommend and would come back in a heartbeat!

Service in the restaurant could be variable; we often had to ask 3 or 4 times for items. We were not told at any point that there was major construction work going on around the swimming pool which made it unappealing to use. The beach bar / restaurant was very pleasant and the staff good, however the loud old fashioned Euro pop music was dreadful. Rooms are in need of an upgrade.

There were a couple of things that were not great -especially for a resort that you are paying a premium price for
1. Check in process was protracted and clumsy
We were told that you can pay cash in USD … but when given we’re told a couple of 100 dollar notes were unacceptable -ie not going to be accepted in SL bank although the notes were changed in Australian bank! Then when we tried paying in USD via credit card. Their credit card machine didn’t accept this. So finally we paid in LKR
2. Stayed for 2 nights and wanted to use the gym but this was not available -undergoing renovations
3. Property doesn’t have driver accomodation
The staff were all fabulous. They were very kind and friendly from the moment we arrived. We really loved chatting to them all. We liked the jungle around our room (as we saw beautiful butterflies and heard the birds) but also appreciated the quick access to the beach. Sadly storms were present whilst we were there but it was still a fabulous experience. Thanks to Ishara for making sure we were happy, Danu for showing me the crocodile and all the guys and girls in the restaurant and bar, and at reception.
The ac in the room was quite noisy at night and it would have been nice to be able to direct it away from the bed.
