I didn't like anything. The place was bare & with no grass or trees around the place.

The appartment was sterile no paintings, bedside lamps or homely comforts. Two double beds, with no privacy for couples. Small patio table with 4 chairs in the one room. The kitchen extremely small.

We stayed in unit 1. What a stunning place! It was neat and clean and we appreciated the crisp white linen and towels. Everything we needed was there and the view on the dam is incredible! We will definately go back to Gariepview and we highly recommend it!

No hot water to shower in the morning, with a cold weather condition and rain. There was no mops or brooms inside the place to clean up the water that came in from outside. The windows needs to be sealed properly for days when it rains heavy and strong winds. The windows needs more curtains.

Main gate had to be opened manually following a steep driveway. The magnetic door was making a noise the whole night threw. Tap at Zink was not secure. Although there was a soap dispenser in shower,no soap. Only rooibos tea was offered not black tea.

Dirty bedding but was sorted in an hour. When going to bed found that there were dodgy stains on the cheap blankets. Ice cold in the unit when we got in. Air-con set at not being able to warm the place. Owners sent a small heater though. Did not help much. Had to dress like a eskimo when in the unit. Beds mattresses can do with replacing. Very hard. Pillows like rocks. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Bath stained and dit not look very sanitary. Cheap 1 ply toilet rolls. For this price one can at least expect a double ply. Shower floor was dirty. Units not very soundproof. Was woken early the next morning by cleaners banging around below cleaning. Not all windows have curtains. Does not feel private at all. Streetlights shines into unit at night where there is no curtains. Could not sleep properly. Old toilet rolls with stains on top. Finishings are cheap and cheap. No personality, no warmth, not homely. Seating has had its days. Looks very unprofessional when dilapidated. I can only give 10/10 for the view. For the rest a cheap review for cheap furnishings, including bath towels bleached rock hard. Non proper closings at bathroom, cheap plastic shower curtains to close the bathroom, so freezing when taking a bath. Will def not stay again or recommend.

Room situated at the back of the facility with little natural light. The sensor for releasing the magnetic door lock responds to the curtains when drawn. Needed to open the curtain somewhat to eliminate the door from unlocking and locking all the time. Hence, an infringement on privacy. Weird open lamp as a bedside lamp. Noise from guests / residents above the room. No real view, and definitely no place to sit down and appreciate the venue or view. It was good enough for only one night, but no more than that. I will simply try a different venue the next time. Photos used with wonderful views are only of the main unit.

The place where clean, everything in perfect working order. The bed and shower was good!!

When we were driving in my older sister struggled to drive her van up the entrance hill and the host was kind enough to help us drive in. Extremely clean and looks exactly like in the pictures. It has everything one needs in a self catering. It's peaceful. Beautiful experience. I loved the bathroom and the water pressure from the shower too.

The only problem was that the TV wouldn't play YouTube so we weren't able to play music

I liked the room. It was clean and looked like in the picture. The bed was very comfortable and i liked that they had a air conditioner unit and we could turn the temperature up (it was cold). The views outside were also amazing.

We checked in late and the gate going into the yard is currently only manually opened, which meant we had to go out into the cold and slide the gate open, drive in (up the steep driveway) then close the gate and walk up. It wasnt too much of a shlep, because they did let us know before, its just that it was cold so it wasnt too great. We did spot two cockroaches, but otherwise it was a great place.

I stayed in the Private Suite and was genuinely impressed. The apartment is extremely spacious, with a large bedroom, walk-in closet, and a huge bathroom featuring both a bath and separate shower. The kitchen is fully equipped and very well organised, making it easy to feel at home. The highlight of the stay is undoubtedly the view. The private deck overlooking Gariep Dam is spectacular and includes a gas braai and outdoor dining area. Watching the sunrise over the dam from the deck was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully laid out, with plenty of space to relax. I particularly appreciated being able to enjoy the panoramic views even from the bed on a cold winter morning. The location is peaceful and quiet, making it an ideal stop for anyone wanting to slow down and enjoy the beauty of Gariep Dam. I only stayed one night, but I would happily stay longer on a future visit. Highly recommended.

The furniture could be improved, and the bed was quite hard and uncomfortable. For some reason, noise from people walking upstairs could be heard very clearly, which was disruptive at times. There were also a few cockroaches running around during our stay. Lastly, the all-white walls created a somewhat clinical atmosphere. Overall, the property did not quite match the impression given by the photos, which felt a bit misleading.

1. Hairdryer didn't work 2. It's lovely having a fully equipped kitchen but the stove is terrible. There is no temperature control on the stovetop.. You are either cooking at 100% heat or its off! 3. The positioning of the TV in the seating area is terrible. Please consider lowering the TV by putting it above the little desk perhaps as you have to sit with your head tilted back at quite an angle to try and watch in the current position.

Nobody was there to meet us. The dtive-way is extremely steep. A vehicle was parked in front of our view and no-one on site to correct this.

Bed mattress is quite firm and hard. 2 x stray and hungry dogs manage to enter the property uninvited. Photos slightly misleading. Maybe add lables to each photo so we know which photo belongs to which room.

It had all clean amenities

We expected the picture you see on the website but we did not read the small print which says you need to look at each individual room. Although we had a dam facing room we were on the driveway and no place to sit outside. Took a long time for hot water to come through the pipes and only a bath in the room we had

The apartment is on the ground floor and easily accessible. There are two double beds so the unit can sleep more than two. It is clean and neat. Communication from the hosts was prompt and very informative. The kitchen is small, which is fine for an overnight stay, but not practical for an extended stay, as there is nowhere to unpack any groceries. There are also no proper cupboards with space to unpack and hang up clothes, just shelves against the wall.

The gate is not motorised and needs to be opened and closed by hand. Not very nice when it is raining. The driveway is very steep and slippery. The beds are awful. They are very hard and uncomfortable. You could just as well have slept on the floor. Having driven all day and another day of driving ahead, we would've liked to get a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I didn't read the reviews before booking and saw afterwards that the beds have been mentioned numerous times. Sad that the hosts haven't taken this to heart. There are not a lot of restaurant options, but this is not the property's fault. The one suggestion no longer exists. We ate at the Forever Resort. There were only three tables, and it took nearly an hour to get our food.

Even we arrived late, everything was arranged and no problems to enter the premises. The room are well maintained and will use it again. Thank you management.

Unfortunately it was raining, so could not spend time outside. But again we do not say no to rain. The room was nice and warm.

The location was good and the view beautiful. The apartment is clean and on the ground floor, so easily accessible.

It was raining when we arrived. The gate is not motorized so we had to open it in the rain. There was a lot of water and mud that accumulated at the gate which made driving up the very steep driveway a problem as the wheels of the car kept spinning in the mud. There was no hot water on the evening that we arrived. We were only able to shower the following morning. The bed was very hard and it felt like you were lying on rocks.

We had the suite upstairs it was big and for winter it is very cold ( summer will be ok ) the air conditioner did not work on hot we did what the owner told us to get it working and we googled to no avail some windows no curtains can see the outside lights so we did not sleep and cold air coming from somewhere we were cold bad experience and our own experience bed was hard on cement why don’t people just leave extra good blankets ( there was a thin blanket extra it did nothing )

The unit was beautiful and clean and perfect for a one-night stay over.

No privacy as people from the neighbouring unit drives and walks past our sliding door when going in or out. You could also hear sound from neighbouring units, even the closing of cupboards.

Bed was comfortable and the shower fantastic. Had what we required for a 1 night stay.

The gate wasn't working and walking up and down a very steep incline to open and close it, was not ideal. Also some of the lights in our room didn't work.

The property is a construction site. It is sad that I vacated my home to get away from a renovation site, yet I paid money for a vacation on a construction site. My room was adjacent to the housekeeping hub. The continual sound of a running laundry machine disturbed the peace I needed while I was trying to rest for the next leg of my journey.

I stayed in the suite and had the worst night's sleep that I have ever had whilst travelling. As a result I was exhausted the next day which really affected me while driving the rest of the way to Wilderness. The mattress was so hard it was like sleeping on piece of concrete. In addition only 50 percent of the unit has curtains which meant that there were bright street lights shining in throughout the night, keeping me awake.
